Print Book on 8.5x11 in photo paper for "proof" No Landscape mode :(

Is there anyway to print pages of a book to 11x8.5 paper and
(1) Have Aperture rotate the image to landscape mode?
and
(2) Have it scale the page to the page being printed onto?

Well, I may have created my own work-around for this.
I printed the book as a PDF and then printed the PDF. Doing so scaled the final printed output to the 8.5 x 11 photo paper that I had (even though the book itself will be larger). And it printed in landscape mode.
So the "trick" is to print the book as a PDF rather than try to directly print it from Aperture to your printer.

  • I would like to print my Pages document on Matte Photo Paper

I would like to print my Pages document on Matte Photo Paper which is in the rear feeder of my Canon Pixma MX882 printer. The print function in Pages/Yosemite does not give me that option. The only options are to print on plain paper from the cassette. When I print images from iPhoto, I have more paper options. When I try to convert the doc to a jpeg, with Graphic Converter so I can drop it in iPhoto, the result is very blurred almost unreadable.

Have you gone to Canon's website and downloaded the very latest Printer Driver for your Model?
Also have you looked amongst the paper handling options in your Print dialogue for the rear feeder option.
What is stopping you putting the high quality paper in your regular paper cassette?

  • Printer properties continue to show HP photo paper, despite Preferences being set for Automatic.

Yesterday, while attempting to print a Word Perfect 5 document (my word processing app), the printer( HP Office Jet 6500 E709) operated, passed the paper through and made the printing sounds, but no ink was applied to the paper.  I thought perhaps the cartridge had run dry, although I usually get a warning and then can visually see from the finished print job when the ink cartridge is empty.  My PC is running Win XP Professional, and the printer has never been a problem.  I installed a new Black cartridge and successfully printed off a test page.  Still could not print the WP document, or any other document from "my documents" file.  Tried the "copy" function and the printer worked fine.  Still no document printing.  Printed a Yahoo e-mail using the "print" option at the top of the message, and the printer worked fine.  When printing from that icon, I got a pop-up display with a menu option labeled "preferences."  This is the standard routine when printing an e-mail. I clicked on preferences saw that they were set at automatic, portrait, and color.  I changed color to Gray Scale, black ink only, and the page printed properly.  This has always been the routine, whether printing an e-mail of printing a document.  Then I went to my WP document and hit the printer icon on my task bar and got a different pop- up display.  In this display there was no "preferences" option, only a "properties" option.  When I pressed that button I saw a setting that said HP Photo paper, portrait, grayscale high quality.  I changed the paper type[ to "automatic" but cold not change the color option to black ink only.  I closed the menu and attempted to print.  No ink.  I repeated the steps and discovered that the properties had reverted back to HP Photo Paper.  I attempted to print from the File menu and by using Cntrl P.  Neither option worked and the "Pproperties" continued to show HP photo paper, even though I changed it after each failed attempt and the hopper was full of white ink jet paper.  I deinstalled the HP printer and reinstalled it using the original discs.  Since the reinstall, the preferences are set as desired, and remain that way every time I chack them.  I can print a test page, copy and print email.  However, when printing from the print option in File, the task bar printer icon or Cntrl P, the pages continue to be processed but no ink is applied.  The pop-up menu that appears when using any of these commands always contains the term "properties" and those properties always show HP photo paper as the stock being used.  Regaerdless of how many times I correct the paper type, the entry reverts to HP photo paper after each attempt at printing.

I have the B8550 too, and I just assumed that since it's a fairly high-end printer, it would support the highest-end HP photo paper (i.e., Premium Plus).  However, the manual states:
HP Premium and HP Premium Plus photo papers are not supported with this product.
Now, I don't know if that means you shouldn't use it, or that the advanced features won't work, or ??? Or if you should use it, what settings to use (since that type of paper is not listed in the options on the drop-down menu.)  I have used the Premium Plus Soft Gloss without any problems.  But HP seems to think that the highest quality paper you can use with this printer is "Advanced," which is their third-grade paper.  Not exactly what I'd expect from this type of printer.

  • HP Photosmart premium not printing correct colors or contrast on photo paper.

My HP Photosmart Premium does not print correct colors or contrast level on photographs using photo paper.  This happens with using most any application and setting the paper type to one of the photo papers...  By using MS PhotoAlbum and selecting the photo tray then forcing "regular paper", I can get a somewhat decent print (this trick only works with MS PhotoAlbum).  When I setup to any of the "photo paper" types, I do not get correct colors or contrast levels (even if the print preview looks good).
I have the same issue with 8.5 x 11 inch photopaper.  Unless I select "regular paper" as the paper type, I get incorrect color and contrast (even if the preview looks good).  The ICC "Color Profiles" look to be OK (at least the titles are correct).
    Anyone have any ideas?

Try the troubleshooting steps in this page.  My bet would be the Photo cartridge (the black with the bow tie symbol) is out of ink.  This is only used when photo paper is selected, for plain paper printing the regular black cartridge is used.

  • Printing problem on 4 X 6 photo paper

When I print from my iPad using wireless the photo prints too large to fit on the paper. Also when printing on paper the font size is too large. How can I adjust the size? Thank you.

    Hi,
If you are using the AirPrint functionality of your iphone, this has limitations in terms of the paper size, scaling and resizing of photos.
If you download the HP eprint app, you'll find that this offers much more flexability in terms of papaer size and resizing of images. HP eprint is free to download from the app store.

  • Need photo paper for 16:9 format photos

My Sony HDV digicam takes 16:9 stills.  I'm looking for appropriate photo paper to use on my HP C4280 Photosmart printer.
Now I use Photoshop and print on 8.5x11 photo paper but it is not fast/easy and wastes paper.
    Any ideas appreciated.

If you don't want FCP to scale your images you can create a action in photoshop and a droplet that resizes all your images and places them in a folder. The size for widescreen ntsc is
    960x533 and 72 dpi
    Found under:
    http://www.kenstone.net/fcphomepage/basicps.html
Look in your photoshop help for action and droplet. There is a step for step guide to both.
    Good luck.

  • [1.14] Are photos displayed right for you in landscape mode?

    Hello,
I upgraded some days ago from 1.02 to 1.14 and noticed that some photos aren't displayed in full screen when in landscape mode. They have these black bars on the sides. The weird thing is that not all are displayed like this and that all (the same) photos were displayed correctly when I used 1.02.
I took two screeshots to show you the problem:
    http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/7837/picture005wr7.jpg
Original Size of the picture: 800x600
    http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8479/picture006ue4.jpg
Original Size of the picture: 512x314
It seems that it keeps the aspect ratio, but I don't like it all and want it the way it was on 1.02...
    Have you an idea?
    Thank you very much!

There is no problem here, it just changes the view in landscape mode. All photos are taken with the same aspect ratio, but the portrait pictures automatically zoom in when you display. If you zoom out on a portrait picture you will see this. There is no problem with your phone, it is just a small change Apple made.

  • How do I specify photo paper for printing?

In a much earlier version and old computer I had all kinds of options of paper choice ( glossy, mat, presentation).  How do I specify paper now?

Expand appearance is what will happen when exporting to PDF or other formats anyway, but it's rather part of the problem than part of the solution.
When expanding bristle brushes you get millions of paths. and when flattening their transparency you get millions more. Any service provider will get rather upset at you for sending this kind of stuff.
What you instead want to do is rasterize them at the correct resolution (depending on wether the graphics will be resized before printing or the printing process). BTW: that's what Illustrator tells you in an error warning when saving a file with more than 30 strokes in it.

  • Canvas and foil photo paper for a Canon MX880 color printer?

    Hi,
I have a Canon MX880 standard color printer.  Has anyone out there printed to a printer such as mine on either canvas or foil?  If so, how did it turn out?  Could you please share on where you buy your canvas product?  Your foil product?  Thanks!

Hi. D50 is the color temperature and the other number is monitor brightness. Do you have a camera club in your town? Maybe you could contact them. Meanwhile, try setting your monitor brightness and contrast to 50 percent and see if that gives more pleasing results.

Can anyone tell me if that the cards/postcards you purchase from Apple are printed on card stock or on photo paper.
