Print Booklet 2 of 16 spreads only show

I'm trying to print a 32 page (1/2 letter) recipe booklet and when I choose the option to print booklet, it only shows me pages 1&32 and 12&14. I'm pretty familiar with print to booklet and this has never happened to me before. I've searched around to see if there are any options checked that would affect this, but I have no clue what could be causing this. I can export the spreads and pages to pdf with no issue, but it's not paginated correctly unless I were to use the booklet option. Please advise. Thanks!

  • Why does "Print Booklet" from Indesign CS5.5 only create low res pdf? How do I get High Res for Offs

Long time ID user in Agency. Created a simple 4 page brochure in CS5.5 ID. Facing pages for cust size 11x17 half fold document.
Generating the pdf for Press and HQ Print renders a nice high res document, but the print booklet feature only produces a skinny low res version. Tried to mess with the printer settings, but the result is the same with a skinny low res document.
I didn't want to recreate the brochure as a two page manually imposed as I like the option of being able to add more pages in increments of four of course. Plus it's just silly to do that when ID is supposed to handle it for me.
I worked around it this time by printing to .ps output then distilling, and then splitting the document so printer could have a "front" and "back" 11x17. But this seems kludged big time. This has to be a bug unless I am missing something.

You probably never changed the default settings in the PDF printer properties. In the print booklet dialog, click the Print Settings button, then the Setup button at the bottom of the Print Dialog that pops up, choose the PDF printer and click on Preferences. Reset the default reset the default settings to the ones you really want to use, or reset them in Windows... Control Panel > Devices and Printers... Double-click the PDF printer, then from the print queue dialog, Printer > Properties... General tab and clcik the Preferences button.

  • Printing chart with legend type "DATATABLE" only shows graph.

    Hi All,
We are running BI 7.01, distributing webtemplates via the Portal.
When a report contains a chart with Legend Type "DATATABLE", the table under the graph does not get printed when creating a PdF print. The report output shows the data fine. How can I get these DATATABLE legends to become visible when printing in PDF?
    Thanks,
    Eduard

    Thanks for the quick reply.
Isn't this an Adobe/Portal related phenomenon? The 3.5 version of the same report works fine and it uses the same IGS. I thought the IGS was only needed for rendering the graph to display on screen, but is it also needed to create a PDF? I figured that once the output is on screen, the IGS's work is done. Or am I totally off here?
    Thanks,
    Eduard

  • InDesign CS5.5 Print Booklet Only Printing Even Pages

I'm having an issue with print booklet in Indesign CS5.5. I haven't used it before, so I'm not too familiar with it, but here's my problem:
I'm printing out the document (comprised of letter-size facing pages) as a PostScript file, then converting to PDF with Distiller. When I preview the document in the print booklet dialogue box, it looks good, and shows all the pages facing one another in the correct order. But when I print the PostScript file and use Distiller to convert it to a PDF, all I get in my final file are the even pages (the "left" pages).
I'm trying to print my file on tabloid paper so that my booklet ends up letter size. But the pages that print booklet is sending out are only letter sized. It's like somehow in the process, the odd pages are cut off and I only end up with letter-sized even pages.
Any idea what I'm doing wrong? How can I get the pages to end up on Tabloid size paper and not lose any pages?
Any help you might be able to offer would be highly appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Landon
    System Info:
    Mac OSX 10.7, Lion
    Adobe InDesign CS5.5

Sounds like the file is not set to tabloid in the postscript so it's cropping off the right hand side. Printing to postscript for distiller is pretty complex on Mac these days. You need to use the AdobePDF ppd, not device independent, and I don't believe it's installed anywhere by default. • CS5 print booklet

I have documents that were created in CS3 and printed perfectly that now won't print as a booklet in CS5. My most recent document appears correctly on screen but pulls various pages together to print rather than organising itself to print as it appears on screen. The document is 36 pages long.
When printing booklet it prints page 1 with 36, 2 with 35, 3 with 34 etc rather than shuffling and placing the pages together as they appear on the speads on the screen 2 with 3, 3 with 4 etc.
Does anyone know what is causing this and how to rectify it?

That's exactly the way Print Booklet is intended to function -- it creates an imposed print ready for binding -- unless you choose the "consecutive" imposition. If you want to view readers' spreads for proofing, you don't need to use Print Booklet, just check the "Spreads" box in the print dialog.

  • How to print a single spread in Print Booklet

Just got ID CS3 - Have a 20 pg booklet from old version, opened fine, but can't make it print a single spread... tell it to print all, and the pages line up OK in Preview - but when I try and print a single spread, 6-15 for instance, only page 6 shows and prints... booklet feature is biggest reason I spent for update... any help? Thanks, Lamar

As far as I can tell, print booklet does just that: it prints a booklet based on just the pages you choose. It does not build a booklet that you can print spreads from. So, if you wanted to print spread 16-5 from a 20 page file, you would have to include the logical pages of the reverse side of that spread. Namely 6 and 15. (Enter 5,6,15,16 to get a four page booklet with two spreads that correspond to what would be in your 20 pager.)
If you are opening a file that is already in printers spreads, I don't think you should be using Print Booklet at all. Just use the regular print dialogue and choose print spreads.

  • Print Booklet - Spreads Missing from PDF

I am exporting a 123 page book to a PDF containing 16 page signatures to be perfect bound.  I go to File > Print Booklet and set my signature size to 16 and select "2-up Perfect Bound."  The print preview is acurate to what I want my final PDF to look like.  I choose "Print" and when the printing progress bar is about 1/8 to 1/4 finished - Acrobat launches and my "finished" PDF only has three spreads - while InDesign continues to print the pdf.  If I uncheck "View  Adobe PDF Results" under "Printing Preferences" and wait for the PDF to be completed before manually launching Acrobat, I have identical results.  I have also tried printing 16 pages at a time to have one document per 16 page signature.  Same results.
    Any ideas?
an acrobat setting or an InDesign setting?
    Hmmm....

Thank you for the suggestions, adding pages for even multiples of 16 didn't work unfortunately,  I actually did try that prior to posting.
I erased my preferences, which seemed to make a difference initially, but ultimately failed also - print progress bar got to about 3/4 before the problem occurred where it had previously only gone to about 1/8 or 1/4.
For today, my solution was CS3.  Luckily I still had it installed and was able to print the booklet to pdf using it, but still can't get it to work via CS4.

  • Blank Spread Using Print Booklet

I am outputting a 48 page booklet using the Print Booklet feature in InDesign CC. Oddly, one spread is printing without the content. Pages 3 and 46 are blank.
I know they are being output, since the crop marks do appear on the spread. The content, however, is left out.
This occurs regardless of the printer. The same thing occurs when I send the output to the PDF printer. The crop marks are there, but otherwise the page is blank.
These pages, 3 and 46, print fine when I output them individually. They're also fine when I output the file to a PDF. It is just the print booklet feature that is loosing the page content.
Does anyone have an idea what is going on here?
    Thanks

I debugged it by removing items from the two pages until I found what was triggering the error. It was an compound vector item. Once I removed that, the page prints fine.

    Hello @kgingeri1,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
If you have sent a test print via ePrint, and experience this issue, i would call the Cloud Services department.
If ePrint works fine, it is definitely a Google Cloud Print issue.
Also, when you print from your android device, are you using Google Cloud print or the HP ePrint app?

  • When printing a booklet in CS4, some spreads are mirrored.

    Hi all,
I'm trying out CS4, indesign and the lot, in combination with mac OS 10.6.xx and a xerox phaser 7760. I build up a simple booklet, A4, 8 pages, and middle pages consists of a centrefold, with text header centered.
In Indesgin I choose 'print booklet' and choose '2-up saddle stitch'. In print settings I then choose 'two sided printing', pick a different papersize: A3, landscape; so the total amount of paper I'm using is 2 (since I'm using two-sided).
When I hit the print button, the document emerge after a minute. The print itself is fine, however, two of the four spreads are printed up-side-down. I looked it over and over again but I can't seem to find the solution.
Anyone? All tips are most welcome.
    Regards,
    Harry

Thanks. In printer menu I changed from long edge to short edge and
checked 'flip horizontal' and then it worked perfectly.
I am glad it worked out but I'm amazed how many actions it take to
print out a booklet with three Brands who rely on intuitivity.

You need to reverse the direction of the duplexing, which is handled
in the printer driver. I don't know what terms the 7760 uses, but my

whichever option is not selected. When setting up duplexing you need

I typed in data into the highlighted text box, and then tried to print my form.  However, when printed, the copy only showed a portion of my answer.  Is there a way to expand Adobe Reader's highlighted text to show my full response, or should I make my responses only as long as the highlighted portion allows?

While printing any pdf file it will print the visible text only. To overcome this, the form needs to be dynamic so that it expands in layout while entering more data. Usually dynamic forms are developed by Adobe LiveCycle Designer.
