Print Bureau printing app, wonderful!

I purchased this app two weeks ago. I just want to post here that this is an amazing app. I sent a message to the app support yesterday at 5:30pm, the sent me an answer in 20 minutes. It was a simple question on syncing files between my Iphone and Ipad. I couldn't figure out the simple procedure. They gave me the correct answer within minutes.
If you're think aboutthe $12.99, I say it's worth every penny.

Unable to edit my previous post - too old I guess.
I've been testing both Printopia (a "server" on the mac to which the iPad can connect for printing) and Print Bureau, which also has a mac-side "server" that you can download for free.
From other iPad apps that have a print menu, I can find the Printopia server and print to any of my mac-attached printers (and to a local folder on the mac, if I want).
I can only print using Print Bureau from within the PB app, not from other apps. This means other apps have to have the "open in..." menu choice, and then I can get the item to PB for printing. Not all my other apps can do this. I can print directly to my network printer (HP Color Laserjet) from within PB without going through the mac server.
(PB does have other capabilities besides printing, read about them at the app store or google "Print Bureau iPad" to find the home page.)

Welcome to the HP Support Forums. I gather that you have a question regarding the HP All-in-One Printer Remote app.
The LaserJet M127fw printer is not a supported printer for the HP AiO app. I have included the HP Printers and Supported Mobile Printing Solutions document for reference.

Major Printing Problem - Can't Print in any App, with Any Printers

I help my Aunt with her three Macs (2 eMacs, 1 MacBook, all running 10.4.8 right now) at her office, and she had me come to help recently because one of the eMacs stopped printing anything; here's what happens:
In every app besides Word (e.g. Safari, TextEdit, AppleWorks, etc.): If I click File>Print... or press 'Command-P,' the cursor turns into the spinning rainbow for a few seconds, and nothing happens (meaning I can do anything I want in the application, as if nothing at all happened).
In Word: If I click File>Print... or press 'Command-P,' Word sits for a minute with the spinning rainbow, then locks up and quits itself. BUT, if I click the little 'print' button in the toolbar (the one that bypasses the print dialog box), the file will print.
I tried resetting the printing system, setting up different printers on the computer, printing over the network and over USB (directly connected to port 1 on the eMac), and re-downloading/installing the printer drivers for the Brother 5250DN laser printer AND the HP LaserJet 1200 laser printer, but all to no avail.
I can run the Printer Setup Utility and recognize the printers (via Bonjour over the network and via USB), and the computer can run the printer setup utilities, so I know the printer communicates fine with the computer. I also can print to the printers (both the networked one and the Brother) from any of the other Macs (including my own laptop) over the network. But I can't get the print dialog box to show up for any printer on the one eMac.
I'm determined that this problem lies within the OSX printing system, but reinstalling the whole OS is not an option, as I would have to re-setup all the software, user accounts, special network settings, etc. (even if I do an Archive and Install). Is there anything I can do??? (I seem to recall someone else having this problem, but I can't find that thread on the forum).

There's another thread describing this same problem. I am having the issue too. As I posted in the other thread:
"Well, I did a full Archive and Install, with restore user settings, and the thing still won't print! All apps crash when trying to print (except Mail.app, which is odd). So it appears all of the files required for printing are there since Mail.app works, but I still can't print from Safari, Firefox, Preview, TextEdit, etc etc. ARGH!!!!
Next step is to downgrade to 10.4.8."
If that doesn't work, I guess an Erase and Install would be th next step.

HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-All-in-One Printer - E710n wireless print and web app problem

We have an HP Officejet 6500A Plus e-all-in-one Printer - E710n and run Windows 7 on our laptop.
I have run the wirelss setup wizard and have successfully connected the printer to the router, and both the laptop and printer are on the same network and have identical SSID.
However, we can not send any prints the printer wirelessly. We have to hook it up to the USB to do so. We are also unable to access our web apps; pressing the app button on the printer control panel brings up the following:
"Connection error. The printer was unable to connect to the server. Check your internet connection and try again."
I have run through the suggested solutions under "A Network Connected Printer Cannot Access Print Apps, Web Services, or ePrint" in the customer care help centre which didn't work, although when I tried to enter the IP address under IPv4 into the browser address bar it timed out. I tried the HP Print and Scan Doctor, but it returns a result that suggests everything is fine.
I turned off the firewall and tried again with no luck.
I really am at a loss now. Diagnostics say it should work, but it doesn't. Help!

there is a personnal profile option called 'printer'. put your default printer name. that will work.

Printer Sharing - All apps crash!

I recently purchased an iMac Intel 20" currently running 10.4.6. I have my USB HP laser printer connected to one of my old iBook G3 (also running 10.4.6) with printer shaing turned on. In the past (before the iMac) I shared a printer between iBooks (G3) with zero problems. It seems now when I try to print from my iMac to the shared printer, no matter what app I am using, the app crashes.
In contrast, when I print from my iBook G3 to the shared printer on my OTHER iBook G3... it works like a charm. Can anyone help out?

OK, but have you plugged the printer into the iMac and was it recognized and could print? It should. And that's fine. But apparently you don't want to use it like that? I think that's where the problem starts.
What I'm referring to is the fact that printer drivers on Intel Macs will be different from printer drivers on iBook G3's. They won't have the same version. Check the printer setup utility in each and you'll see that the drivers are different versions. As far as I know, printer driver software isn't designed so that different versions can communicate with each other. It's designed to communicate with the printer only.
So, if you want the printer to print from the iBook, I think you'll have to move the item you want to print from the iMac to the iBook first, then have the iBook go ahead and direct the printing of it by the printer.
If your printer was wireless, it wouldn't matter, as it could receive its instructions from any number of computers, as long as it can understand the driver that's on each computer. The only way the printer can understand each computer's driver is if that driver is compatible with that computer.
So, even if it were possible to install the iMac's printer driver version onto the iBook, the iBook couldn't use that driver to give printing instructions to the printer.
However, I'm guessing you'll have MUCH better printing results using the iMac to direct the printing. Is there any reason not to reverse the order and have the printer connected to the iMac instead of to the iBook?
I'm guessing that the iMac can print anything that the iBook could send it to print, while I wouldn't be as sure that the iBook could print everything the iMac might send it to print. With the iMac's processor, I believe you'll find it will have any easier time speeding things through the printer, and yet be able to continue to do something else while that is being done.

AirPlay won't recognize printer and print although HPprint app does

My iPad will not print from AirPlay and shows no printer on my wifi network from AirPlay. However, I can print from my HPprint app and the app recognizes my printer on my wifi network. Any suggestions to get AirPlay to recognize the printer and print?

Another program that is available in both PC and Mac versions is FingerPrint. <FingerPrint>
For either program, your computer must be on and awake any time you want to print.

Defualt printer based on app?

Is there a way to assign a default printer to an app?
case in point: In QuickBooks I only print checks, and have a dedicated laser printer for it. (I'm gonna check at the QB forum, but the Mac version of QB is all but forgotten)
Also have a color and a B&W laser printer I'd like to dedicate to certain apps.

Pondering a global print queue, and see if I can tell which app sent it (I know I can see which user sent it) Then re-route it to the correct printer. Being that all printers are using PCL it might be do-able (if I can tell the sending app).

The utility was moved to System Preferences in Mac OS X 10.5. Mac OS X 10.4 and earlier have it in the Utilities folder.

There are severall units out there with 4 ink cartridges, not sure about the option to revesre image in the printer, however mirroring an image is possible in most software programs. Even in paint i think.

Upgrade to tiger, can't print from any app

Hi All
I normally fix my own problems, but this has me stumped.
I've upgraded to tiger and done a software update to 10.4.7.
Now I can't print from any app.
I've done the "reset printing system" but this hasn't worked.
All my printers are ethernet networked, no USB.
At this time of writing, I have just managed to print from indesing CS2, but nothing else, mail, textedit, acrobat, none of them work...
...Don't suppose anyone has any ideas?
PS, when I attempt to print, my app is quit and I have to relaunch.

I had the same problem when I upgraded to Tiger. I have a HP PSC 2175 All-in-one printer. I solved my problem by uninstalling the HP printer software, emptying the trash, restarting, and reinstalling the HP printer software. I also installed the lastest HP printer driver, which I downloaded from the HP website.
I repaired permissions after doing all that, and now everything seems to print fine.
I suspect the same steps might work for other printers, as well.

Macfixit also has a tutorial for troubleshooting printer problems. I have not tried any of the solutions which involve downloading troubleshooting software. Maybe someone else here can say whether the software mentioned in the article works well or not.
