Print button disabled on webdynpro application

Hi
I have a requirement to have 'PRINT' button on PDF form generated from webdynpro application.[POWL],whereas my 'SAVE' button enabled.
Please suggest me where I need to check for this settings?
I have checked in POWL_UI_COMP, not found any related stuff.
Please help me.

Print button in ABAP WebDynpro

Hello all,
The client has requested a 'Print' button in our webdynpro application - ie a simple button that triggers the browser command Ctrl P.
I have searched the forum, and it seems that this is not possible, because WebDynpro cannot execute browser commands (or indeed, javascript).
Can someone please suggest a solution - OR - confirm that this functionality is not possible?

This is news to me! Is this an accepted view in the SAP communit... that WebDynpro requires Adobe to achieve full functionality? That is disappointing, to say the least. And a step back from BSP.
We are building multiple online calculators, and it would be a huge overhead to have to develop (and maintain) an Adobe form for each calculator, simply to enable the user to print the contents of the screen....
I have read in SDN that you can invoke a browser Print command from Java Webdynpro. A class WDPrintService has been provided.

How can it be that this functionality is "not possible" for one flavour of WebDynpro, but plainly available in the other....?

Print button on my webdynpro JAVA page

Hi Experts,
Is there any way that I can include a print button on my webdynpro JAVA page. ON click of the Print button I have to print the entire Page. User is able to print the page by using the print option of Browser, but in that case if the page is having a vertical or horizontal scroll, print output will contain only the visible part.

Printing Web Dynpro Java (WDJ) applications is one of the missing functionalities that everyone wants to have in their application. you can use third party open source reporting tool, JasperReports, to solve this issue

Reader X: Printing button disabled in secured file even though printing is enabled in security optio

Hi,
I have a document created in Adobe Acrobat 7.0, secured by a third party component, everything except printing is disabled in the security restrictions, but Reader X still disables the print button and the entry in the file menu.
The document works fine in the newest versions of Reader 7, 8, and 9 (all tests were don using an english Windows 7 pro 64 bit).
Is this a known bug? I haven't been able to find any mention of this problem.

So are you saying that you have a plugin installed in Adobe Reader X, which is used to open the PDF file - or that the plugin is solely present in Adobe Acrobat and the PDF file thus created is opening in a standard installation of Adobe Reader?
If the former, then as the Acrobat X Family SDK is not yet released to the public and there are significant changes in the plugin sandbox of Reader X (thanks to Protected Mode), I'm not surprised that it's having problems. Things that used to work in Reader 9 aren't in any way guaranteed to work in Reader X.

Buttons in an webdynpro application should be static

Hi all,
I have a webdynpro application in an iview in my portal.
I have toolbar buttons on top of this page along with UI content.
As we all know that we get a scroll bar in portal to scrol through the content to go to the end of the page.
The buttons on top cannot be seen while scrolling the page.
Now my question is ,Is it feasable to keep some elements in the webdynpro application to be static .
i.e buttons in a separate frame
all the rest UI elemenst in another frame which has scrolling.
So the scenario should be the lower part should be scrollable and my buttons should be static and appear everytime.
IS it possible.
If possible ,how to execute this ??

In Webdynpro You can use containers.
Add a Transparent Container to you UI and add all your buttons to it, then add another Transparent Container and add the rest of the UI to this Container place the Containers One below the other buy using Grid Layout.

MDSD Print button disabled

Hi Folks,
I want to know whether To-Printer option remains enabled in standard MDSD application when we follow path
OTHER3-REPORTS-2material/inventory reports-----2check-out..1..For all materials i do not get To-Printer button enabled.
Even if i install printer driver also i do not get the same.
Is there any specific setting to be maintained.

Order Prints button disabled Yosemite, iPhoto 9.6

I tried to order prints today and found out that I can't the order button is disabled. How can I re-enable the button?
Notice the image behind on top, is selected, but the Order Prints is disabled.

Do you still have the original library that you used iPLM to rebuild. I as because I didn't see anywhere that you used iPhoto itself to repair the database. If you still have it try the following:
1 - launch iPhoto with the Command+Option keys held down to open the First Aid window. Be sure to follow the circled recommendation in the screenshot.
2 - run Option #4, Rebuild Database.

Add printer button disabled

After I upgraded to Mavericks from Snow Leopard, the printers no longer worked. I tried deleting my printer, then realized the "+" button is disabled and cannot be clicked. There is no "lock" icon on the panel. What can I do?

By default the Printers & Scanners preference pane does not have the padlock. To make it appear in this pane, open the Security & Privacy preference pane and have the General tab selected. Click the padlock to unlock this pane and press the Advanced tab. Enable the "Require an administrator passord..." setting and OK the change. Then go back to Printers & Scanners - you should now have a padlock. Unlock it and see if you can now add your printer.

How to disable Print button on WebDynpro ABAP ALV

In WebDynpro ABAP, a standard menu appears around the ALV, that has a PRINT button and an EXPORT button.
Is there anyway to disable those buttons????

Check the interface if_salv_wd_std_functions. It contains methods which are used to hide the standard ALV toolbar buttons.

Disable Purchase Order (PO) PDF Print button

Hi,
We are using SRM 550.
When a user views/changes a PO in the browser they can use the Preview Purchase Order button to view the PO as a PDF document.
This is OK, but we want to disable users from printing the form using the Adobe PDF print button as there is no print log recorded for this action and so the audit trail is compromised.
I have heard that this can be disabled by SAP when the PDF is generated does anyone know how this is acheived.

you must control the output preview button to disable . if you still finding problem then only this note is applicable . got it.
You do not want to provide the output preview button in the purchase order using the BBP_UI_CONTROL_BADI BAdI, however, this appears as soon as you go to the output area in the header data of the purchase order. However, the button no longer has the label "Output preview", instead it just has the label "Preview".
This problem is caused by a program error: The display area contains a hidden "preview" button (the button is invisible but nevertheless it exists in the GUI) (Function group BBP_OUTPUT, screen 1100). This has the same name as the button for the "output preview" that exists separately in the button area of the purchase order (Function group BBP_PO_UI_ITS screen 2200). In the described case, the data of the output button is used for the purchase order button.
Solution
This note ensures that the output button does not exist (that is, not even in the GUI) if a calling application (in this case, purchase order) requires the generic output screen using the BBPS_OUTPUT_PUT_PBO function module without the preview button (IV_WITH_PREVIEW = ' '). Therefore, the data of the output button cannot be used for the purchase order button. This correction is available with Support Package 04 (SAPKIBKT04). For an advance correction, use Transaction SNOTE to implement the correction instructions attached to this note.

How to Disable Print Button in document.htm?

I'am using HAP_DOCUMENT BSP applications for Appraisal.I had creatde iViews for that BSP's in Portal and am able to acess all the BSP's.
I'am using document_created.htm BSP for displaying Created Appraisals and it is working fine.When i click on particular Appraisal mentioned in that iview it will move to next page i..e.,document.htm where we can see the complete description of the Appraisal.Now we had 5 buttons in that page
Action Log,Exit,Display Scorecard,Disaply Qualifications and Print.
Now i want to disable Print Button.I searched a lot but am unable to find the exact code written for this Print button.I dnt know much abt the coding of BSP's,please anybody guide me with a solution.

Instead of disabling the print buttons, you can restrict creating the actual output message for a specific output type.
You can achieve it by creating the Output Requirement in transaction VOFM. You need to assign this requirement to your Output type. In this Requirement you can check all your conditions. If they all validation pass through than and than create the Output.

             I have created a custom button on my webdynpro screen . When I click that button I want to take print out of the particular screen and at the same time I need to hide the buttons (buttons are displaying on print screen option). Can anybody please help me out .

I don't think there is a standard method to hide the button from being included in snap shot of print.
Work around solution1:
Create a button BTN_PRINT and on click of button write the below code before call print_page( )
          i.e. hide the button,
DATA lo_view TYPE REF TO if_wd_view.
DATA lo_btn TYPE REF TO cl_wd_button.
lo_view ?= wd_this->wd_get_api( ).
lo_btn ?= lo_view->get_element( 'BTN_PRINT' ).
lo_btn->set_visible( value = cl_wd_button=>e_visible-none ).
          " Print page
data:
l_api_componentcontroller type ref to if_wd_component,
l_appl type ref to if_wd_application.
l_api_componentcontroller = wd_comp_controller->wd_get_api( ).
l_appl = l_api_componentcontroller->get_application( ).
l_appl->print_page( ).
Note: this hide the button PRINT and on subsequent action, you can make it visible again
Work around solution2 :
you can just create a button with access key ( CTRL + P ), without button text... So that it will not be visible in printing. Users can print by using short cut keys CTRL+P

Print functionality using PDF form in a webdynpro application

Hello! All
Currently, we have a webdynpro application and we need to provide the print feature to print the content of the iview display on IE browser. We try the File-> print feature provide by Microsoft through IE but this doesn't work. We are looking for any other option like print to pdf form. We don't know if it is possible. Is there any tutorial, help or anything that can help us to print to pdf form. Please share any other suggestion, comment and it will be much appreciated. Thank you very much.

Hi,
The content (which is a pdf content) can be exported as a PDF from a WD Application. For this you can use File Download control whose source is in the form of bytes (which is PDF content).
Do you have the PDF content already generated?
If so it is very easy to generate PDF from WD.

Hi all,
This is a very old functionality am stuck with..
I need to print the Table in Webdynpro Screen.
Donts :
I dont have a PrintButton UI element present in my NWDS7.0 Version.Sp13.
I dont have the "com.sap.tc.webdynpro.clientserver.print.api" API to get the Print Service.
I dont want to export the Table into EXCEL and then give a print, due to some performance issues.
Could anyone pls suggest if there is any solution for this.
