Print button & hyperlink an email in LiveCycle 8.0

Hello:
This is my first time using Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.0. I have read a lot of posts here but didn't get the answers I am looking for so appreciate any help I can get:
When I created my form, I used the assistant and it gave me an option of putting a "Print Form" button on the form. How do I code the button to actually print?? Please give me instructions. I thought it codes it for you but mine doesn't do anything!!!
Also, I have a field for Email address. I want the email address to be automatically hyperlinked when the user type his email. Is this even doable?
Thanks again.

  • Email submit does not work; print button does not work online

    I installed livecycle 8 from cs3 onto a windows 7, 64 bit laptop
    I created a sample form to see how it works  (sample form  http://neelyranch.com/dogbabysittingform.pdf )
    Inside the program the form fills nicely, the print button works to my local printer, but the email submit does nothing
    I saved and uploaded the file as pdf online and tried it from my browser (chrome)
    Neiher print nor email submit buttons work
    I saved it as reader extended via adobe 8 with no change
    So, ??? am I doing wrong here
    Just a quick edit here
    I ran the form in Safari, mozila and ie8
    in all three the print button did work online, but in all three the email submit did not.
    nothing worked in chrome

    Thanks for both of  the responses. If you did select send then I did not receive anything.  I did check chrome plugins and found a message requiring an adobe update for pdf 9.
    I updated the pdf reader which gave me an update to pdf 11
    I revisited the sample form in live cycle and the online print routine now works in chrome and ie8 but the send email does not send
    When I select the send button after completing all of the other fields, I get a message 'preparing to send ...' then a window pops up with nothng in it but a greyed out top heading row, then it disappears and that is it.
    Has to be something between the button and the email pgm that is not connecting (my default is gmail)
    Same result in both chrome and ie8 - zip.
    Suggestions?

  • Why doesn't firefox have a "print" button in the tool bar and why can't I add attachments to my emails MOST of the time. It only works rarely?? Frustrating!

    I cannot find an add on as a print button for the firefox toolbar. Almost every time I want to print, I have to copy and then open a document and paste it there to be able to print it.
    Also, each time I want to add an attachment to an email, it rarely lets me. I have to open internet explorer and go through my email that way to be able to add attachments.

    1. File > Print <br />
    2. There is a '''Print''' button in the Customize palette for the Toolbars. <br />

    Considering that Firefox doesn't do email, that problem is probably caused by your webmail portal software not being totally compatible with Firefox. If you tell which webmail service you use maybe another user who is familiar with that service can help you.

    When I try to insert hyperlink to email me button it won't bold up so i can click on it. How do i add the email address I want the button to link to?

    The email button is predefined.
    If you still want to use it for another email address, publish the page and grab the image.

  • Print presentasion without Print button on printout

    We want print presentation and eliminate Pint button from printout.
    We tried many ways:
    1) We put in presentation initialization method a statement setVisible: false and print.this. Unfortunately a button still visible on printout.
    2) We wrote a new method for a Print button: setVisible:false, print.this. Again a button is visible in the printout.
    3) We make a presentation without buttons at all and tried to put print statement in initialization method. Now we lose a control of the buttons and cannot terminate a presentation.
    4) We make a presentation without buttons at all and tried to put print statement in initialization method and immediately cancel a presentation with submit(). Again we lose a control of the presentation.
    May be some of you can give us a helping hand.

  • Using the print button to print then close a document

    I use Live Cycle Designer to create my Adobe documents.  I am working on a kiosk project and one of the menus navigates to a document page that has PDF documents and forms for users to print out.  The way the kiosk is designed, I would like for my pdf file to close after the print button is selected.  I recieved a solution in the general Adobe forum, but later found out the script does not work if the document was made using Live Cycle.  Any suggestions???  Is it possible??? Thanks.

    Open your PDF file in adobe livecycle designer, select print button on PDF.
    Go to windows(in adobe designer menu bar) and select Script Editor - In Show dropdown list select postPrint event and copy paste the code below-
    app.execMenuItem("Close");

  • Is it possible to create a Print Button?

    Is it possible to place a print button on an iWeb page so folks when viewing it online can print the entire contents of the page. The page(s)are quite long so one must scroll down to view it in its entirety, but when attenpting to print from the browser, only the first part of the long page will print. Maybe I answered my own question ... does this mean that iWeb pages should not be set longer that normal letter size?
    Thanks
    John

    You can also copy and paste the text into TextEdit and print that to a PDF. Then, create a button that says "print" and hyperlink that to the PDF. That way, anyone wanting a printout would have a nicely formatted document and you can include contact information in the document as well.
    Most sites I go to just have "print" go to a plain "black text on white background" version of the same text that the user then uses command-p (control-p on PC's) to actually initiate the print, so that'd work as well.

  • Insert Print button on Infopath form for particular view

    Hello,
    I want to insert "Print" button on my InfoPath form, by clicking on it which can give print preview with print option.
    I am publishing my form through SharePoint Server into one form library.
    So unable to edit using site actions > Edit page.
    Could you please guide me how to it in simple way....not with customization.
    Thanking you in advance.
    Regards,
    Jayashri

    Hi Jayashri,
    I may not make myself clear. If we can get friendly print view of form, then we can use IE browser print option to print the form: IE gear settings > Print.
    If you need to seperate print button on form, you could edit form web parts > edit page then insert content editor web part with:
    <input onclick="window.print();" type="button" value="Print"/>

  • How do I add a Linkedin button to my email signature in Outlook 2011?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to add a Linkedin button to my emails, or an image of a linkedin button hyperlinked to my profile, but not having much luck. I'm using a Macbook Pro with Lion and my email client is Outlook 2011.
    Does anyone have any idea how to do this?
    Cheers,

    I would like to know how to do this as well. All I'm able to do is add the link, but not the button. My colleague has done this on his Outlook on his HP. I'm not sure why this is so difficult!

  • How do you adjust Firefox to print what is on email page without adding a 1 inch left marghin to that page as it cuts off some of the right side of the page?

    When I receive an email the page often has a certificate that I would like to print. Using the print function at the top of the page brings up the email as a page as it looks in my web email. When I hit the print button on that page there is always a 1 inch margin added to the printed page cutting off the right side of the desired page to be printed.
    My printer accepts what ever I send it from word, pdf files as they appear on the screen, Why doe Firefox not send the same images as is displayed to the printer?
    This seems to occur whenever the screen shows an image that is almost border to border and not text. When a margin is part of the email message or it is text this doesn't seem to occur.
    HELP Please. I really need to be able to print what is displayed to print the proper document.
    Thanks

    Some pages add their own margin to the minimum margin set in Page Setup. First you might reduce the margin here:
    Alt+f (displays the classic File menu) > Page Setup > Margins & Header/Footer tab
    Second, you could try using Shrink to Fit. However, if the image is a background image rather than part of the content of the page, that might not have any effect.

  • Different validations in a print button -- Urgent !

    Hi,
    I've adopted the script stated in HightlightOneRequiredField.pdf so that the print button in my form can detect and prevent null field before pop up the print dialog.
    However, there's an email field (in my form) with a validate event, i.e. to validate if the email address is in general format "[email protected]", which I want the same print button to check this email validation too (apart from the normal null field checking)
    In other words, what I want is that the print button will check:
    1) when a null field is detected, then pop up alert message and disable print and;
    2) when a field with validate event scripted is detected, and if its validation is not passed, then pop up its existing validation error message, then disable print
    Can someone help on this ?
    Thanks in advance.
    Alex

    Hi Alex,
    xfa.form.execValidate();
    This will check all validations on your form, display the error message for each, and return true or false. True if all validations pass and false otherwise. Use this in your print button to check the validations before printing. So. . .
    if (xfa.form.execValidate())
    xfa.host.print(yada yada);
    A word of caution though. I don't think this is fool-proof. A user can always print using the menu or a shortcut key in Acrobat/Reader, which bypasses your print button.
    Hope this helps.

  • I can't print my Yahoo! Email message

    When I clicked print to print email message the print box would appear as usual to choose your printer and the number of copies, but it would disappear in an instant (about 1 second) and I'm unable to click the print button. I tried switching my browser to Internet Explorer (x64 bit for Windows 7 Home Premium) and I did not get the same problem as I'm getting with Mozilla Firefox browser. Sometimes the print box would stay on, but it would disappear, again, in an instant with another email print job. This only happens with my email.

  • Print Button in paper Layout reports

    Hi All,
    I have created a paper layout report with desformat = html.Its working fine.
    Now my requirement is to print the report after the report is displayed on the browser.
    Can I keep print button in reports ?
    Please suggest me a solution.
    Regards
    Srini

    Add some javascript to your report to submit the page to the printer. Use one of the report escapes (look at the properties of the report...double click the report in the object navigator). You can actually add some javascript in one of those escapes to submit the print job after the page has been loaded. I have never used one of those report escapes but that should work.
    if you can do that, you should also be able to add an html button to the top of the page to accomplish the same thing or add a hyperlink to the report that submits another report with desformat = pdf which will probably print out much nicer. All of this should work with using report escapes.
