Print Cartridges On NEW HP Printers

We were informed yesterday while shopping for a NEW printer that the cartridges that come with a NEW printer do not have the same capicity as a normal HP ink cratridge. Is this true?

Hi ChiefRedCloud,
That's correct the cartridges that's included with your printer are starter cartridges and do not have as high of a yield as a regular Hp cartridge.

  • Can you refill printer cartridges in the newest printers - i.e. the HP Deskjet 3055a

    Hi,
I'm thinking of purchasing a HP Deskjet 3055a - (unless anyone can think of a reason not to!) - and was wondering whether you can refill the printer cartridges, so that I don't have to buy a new cartridge every time one runs out. Is this a good printer and are the cartridges refillable?
    Thanks,
    David

    Hello,
You can refill the cartridge, but personally I would'nt do so. This could end with the ink system failing.
To answer your question, yes you can.

  • Trouble inserting all the print cartridges in new pro-100

i inserted 7 print cartridges in the print head, then the print head moved all the way to the right.  how can i get the last print cartridge in the print head?

Try putting ink lid down, turn printer off, turn printer on, let printer initialize and then open lid again. That should move head back to center.

  • HP 1160 printer and HP newer printers and print queues

FYI. The HP 1160 printer does not support queue based printing.
We use Novell 5, IPX, and print queues. Our company has always been HP
LaserJet printers based. They have been very reliable and only recently did
we need to replace one. We have small workgroups so lighter duty printers
have been fine and the 1160 seemed comparable to others we still use. Until
we just purchased the 1160 all previous HP printers had supported Novell
print queues. Hp tech support said it was a Novell issue..(typical cop out).
Any input on what new HP printers actually support Queue based printing
would be appreciated. Nothing on their web site actually indicates this
    support (or lack of it).
    Thanks
    Terry B

You can always use external jet directs if necessary.
Additionally, if they support LPR, you can use PrintQs via NDPS.
( No NDPS support required on the client side.)

  • Will not print black. ink cartridge is new. also shows low black level with new cartridge.

HP Photosmart C6180  all-in-one.  Will not print Black.  Also shows low black ink on ink level.  Cartridge is new and HP brand.
In printing colors, very light and has RED hue as there is no black.  Also two other cartridges show low ink when all the cartridges have been replaced.

    Hi there,
Download and run the print and scan doctor located here (amoung resolving some things automatically it can give us a better idea of what is going on with the printer). Give the steps outlined a shot and let us know the results.

  • Must I print out a new Alignment Page with each new cartridge?

Do I need to print out a new Alignment Page with each new cartridge I install on my HP Photosmart C4480?  Or can I save and reuse the initial one I got when first installing my printer cartridges?  The Alignment pages all seem to be identical   when I print them out with each new cartridge I install, but I'm not examining them with a microscope.
If I can save and reuse the Alignment page with sucessive cartridge replacements, when I am following the procedure for installing a new cartridge and the printer prompts me to print out a new Alignment page, is there an option to skip that step?  I don't recall seeing that option on the control panel window on the printer.
    Thank you!

YOU DO NOT NEED A NEW ALIGNMENT PAGE EVERY TIME YOU INSTALL A NEW CARTRIDGE
I registered just to respond to this
The alignment pages all look the same because they are all the same, pretty sure its a scam to let you use ink.  [snip]
I am pretty sure you do not understand what the alignment page is for - it provides information for alignment of black vs. color and also is used to calibrate the operating energy for the color cartridge.
You may be able to "fool" the printer by reusing an old alignment page, but the quality will suffer as you will not be running at the optimum energy.
You are certainly free to do what you want with your printer but please do not mislead others with misinformation.

  • Tired of getting On-Screen Message about aligning new print cartridges.

    Hello,
I have an hp Deskjet 5440 Printer. Every few minutes I'm getting the message (on the monitor screen): "If you have just installed a new print cartridge it is recommended that you align it. Click on "Align" to align your new print cartridge."
I use generic ink cartridges which the printer does not recognize so I never go through the alignment process.  I did not like using the alignment process even before I started  using generic cartridges because it seemed to be a waste of paper, ink, and time. So, whether I'm using generic or hp cartridges I'm getting the message - over & over & over. It really takes the fun out of using my computer. Can anyone tell me how to stop these #$%^* messages?
    Thank you,
    Bakwtr

The way to stop the alignment messages is to complete the alignment process.  Regardless whether the cartridges are new or refilled the alignment process should be done. In addition to the alignment (necessary for best print quality, you may not care) the process also sets the correct operating energy for the printheads. This is important to get the best quality and also life from the cartridges.  The amount of ink used in the alignment is tiny, particularly compared to the ink that may be wasted if the printer is not using the correct printhead energy (and temperature).

  • Installed a new black ink printer cartridge in hp office jet 6500 e709n and it is not printing out

installed a new black ink printer cartridge in hp office jet 6500 e709n  and it is not printing out anything with Black ink. I ran all the diagnostic tests including cleaning the cartridges, cartridge alignment, shut off the printer unplugged it, restarted, shut down computer retarted. All the other colors work except for the black cartridge. I checked the vent on cartridge and it is they way it should be. How can I print with Black Ink? very upset!!!! Have got to get something printed ASAP

I've got the same with a new black ink cartridge. The display keeps alerting that you have to renew the ink. Tha's oke but the printer does not print black/White.
Do i have to replace the collor ink also at the same time?
Does it mean that if you replace black and not the color that it's NOT possible to print b/w?

  • I have a G4 with OSX 10.2 and my printer died.  New printers only seem to work with 10.4.11 and newer - can I upgrade my G4 enough to use a new printer?

I have a G4 with OSX 10.2 and my printer died.  New printers only seem to work with 10.4.11 and newer - can I upgrade my G4 enough to use a new printer?

    Aha!
Well in outer Mongolia ASAP means something totally different and involves weaving tent fabric from camel hair so that has taken me a bit of time....  However if you have the patience of a saint and the compassion of Mother Theresas' more helpful sister then....
So it would appear I have the following supersonics:
    OSX 10.2.1
    60 Gb HD
    G4 dual processor 1GHz
Now the critical issue here is that I get the computer up to speed enough to be compatible with a modern photo printer - which I think needs to be 10.4.11 or even 10.5
Any assistance would be most gratefully and humbly recieved.

  • Printer not recognizing new cartridges installed

I have a Deskjet 1050 all in one J410 series.  Just installed 2 new print cartridges.  Printer is not recognizing the cartridges.  Cartridge light keeps blinking.

I suggest try reinstall the cartridges following the directions in this page: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=emr_na-c02835867, there is a video too. If still getting the error, the cartridges maybe defective and probably get a replacement.
