Print-control commands for dotmatrix printer

dear all,
Here my requirement is we are using datamax printer ( dotmatrix printer) for printing script and i need some commands for that.
please reply soon.
thanx inadvance

Hi Don
Thank's for your reply.
That's excactly what we want to do: within the same report we'll use different trays and/or number of copies.
In the meantime, we talked to the manufacturer of the ELP module. They told us that the print stream contains parts of the correct sequence, but unfortunately the trailing two closing paranthesis are missing. For that reason, the command string is not recognized as valid command and is therefore printed "as is".
We tried to add additional characters after the trailing paranthesis, again no success...
The next step is to use the newer CR runtime, as Nikhil suggested in his answer.
Weird problem...
Regards
Daniel

  • Printer control app for iphone

is it possible to roll back to a previous version of the Printer Control app for iphone?  I recently and stupidly updated the HP Printer Control app when offered through itunes on October 30 and have lost all the functionality I previously had to print directly from my iphone to my photosmart 7520.  Previously I could print whatever pages I chose from Safari and could change the print settings for either draft or normal, colour / black & white before printing.  Now when I try to print a page, you don't get the option to just print page 1 and it wastes ink.  If I open a pdf (all I've tried so far) document within this new AiO Remote app - even though my printer is listed and supposedly set up - I can't print at all!  I desperately want to ditch this abysmal update and go back to the version that worked perfectly.  I have conctacted Apple and they were unable to help as it's a third party app and referred me back to HP.  Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi brattynat. I have found a few older documents which might help you revert back.
Just to clarify, when you print from Safari, what are you clicking exactly to start your printing process?
How do I downgrade an iPhone app to a previous version?:

  • Looking for a print control applet for online coupons.

I need to create a print control applet for my coupon web site. It will require clients to submit to a squeeze form and then control the quantity of coupons printed to that IP address. The app will also need to manage the overall quantities printed of any one coupon. This exact system is being employed by smartsource.com currently. Can anyone help in the creation of such an animal?

you have zero control over who posts what++++ to that. It amazes me when clueless newbies(1) make statements that imply they actually think that either:
    a) This thread 'belongs' to them.
    b) They have the right or power to prevent posts by anyone.

  • Sending printer control characters to a printer

I would like to send printer control characters to a printer/plotter. Does anyone have any information or thoughts on how this could be accomplished? For example, I would like to send the printer reset sequence ([esc] E). Is this possible?
    Thank You,
    Bob

    Hi bgblair !!
Ive done this some time ago...
Here is like i did it:
    char esc[] = new char[]{27};//The escape-character
StringBuffer buf = new StringBuffer();//Stringbuffer to app. the whole doc. or pcl-commands
    buff.append(""+esc);
    ....OK...
After ive filled the buf i put it into a File and sent it to the printer.
This worked fine for me !!

    HI
    GOOD
    GO THROUGH THIS
A barcode solution consists of the following:
    - a barcode printer
    - a barcode reader
    - a mobile data collection application/program
A barcode label is a special symbology to represent human readable information such as a material number or batch number
    in machine readable format.
There are different symbologies for different applications and different industries. Luckily, you need not worry to much about that as the logistics supply chain has mostly standardized on 3 of 9 and 128 barcode symbologies - which all barcode readers support and which SAP support natively in it's printing protocols.
You can print barcodes from SAP by modifying an existing output form.
Behind every output form is a print program that collects all the data and then pass it to the form. The form contains the layout as well as the font, line and paragraph formats. These forms are designed using SAPScript (a very easy but frustratingly simplistic form format language) or SmartForms that is more of a graphical form design tool.
Barcodes are nothing more than a font definition and is part of the style sheet associated with a particular SAPScript form. The most important aspect is to place a parameter in the line of the form that points to the data element that you want to represent as barcode on the form, i.e. material number. Next you need to set the font for that parameter value to one of the supported barcode symbologies.
The next part of the equation can be a bit tricky as you will need to get a printer to print that barcode font. Regular laser printers does not normally print barcode fonts, only specialized industrial printers that is specifically designed to support that protocol and that uses specialized label media and heat transfer (resin) ribbon to create the sharp image required for barcodes.
Not to fear though, there are two ways to get around this:
    - You can have your IT department do some research -
most laser printers can accept a font cartridge/dimm chip (similar to computer memory), called a BarDIMM that will allow a laser printer to support the printing of barcodes.
    - Secondly, you can buy software that you can upload in your SAP print Server that will convert the barcode symbology as an image that will print on a regular laser printer. I found that this option results in less sharper barcodes. This option is really if you need to convert a large quantity of printers (>10) to support barcodes.
    - Thirdly, you can buy a third party software like Barcode.dll and install on your frontend PC connected to the laser printer.
Now you have a barcode printed - what next?
Well there are two options, depending on your business requirements:
    - You can use an existing SAP transaction on a regular workstation and get a barcode wedge reader to hook up between the keyboard and the PC. These wedge readers comes in a wand or scanner format. There are even wireless wedge scanners available that allows you to roam a few yards from the workstation to scan a label. This approach is mostly used where you want to prevent human errors in typing in long material, batch or serial numbers in receiving or issuing of material. The problem is that it's just replacing the keyboard input and you are basically locked down in one location and have to bring all the material to that location to process.
    - Another solution is to use SAPConsole transactions
or write your own ABAP Dialog programs that will fit onto a barcode enabled wireless handheld terminal and that will follow the business logic as executed on the shop floor.
These programs are highly complex exercises in industrial engineering and ergonomics because of the limited screen sizes and limited ability to accept keyboard input. The user is instructed step-by-step and only scan and push F-keys to interact with the SAP system. Scan, scan, beep, beep, enter - highly automated.

  • Printing Control Commands!

    Hi!
I want to know that all sap script control commands work for smartform.
eg. protect endprotect newline pagebreak etc..
If no is how to fullfill in smartforms.
       Thanks

    Hi,
IN Smartforms.. all these commands will work but the
way of using them is different.
for ex: if u want trigger a new page on certain condition..in scripts
we use NEW-PAGE command but where as in Smartforms
we create a COMMAND node in that we check the NEW PAGE
option and give the page name that is to be triggered.
That is one of the main difference between Smartfroms and Scripts.
In scripts, we need to code every thing but in smartforms we have by default
IF statement in scripts is similar to Alternative options..
just we need to know how to use them.
    Thanks
    Dinakar.

  • HP Printer Control App won't print to Photosmart D110

The HP Printer Control App (Android) see's my Photosmart D110 and successfully aquires the name, IP address, ink levels and other information but just below the listing for the printer itself is indcated, "unavailable". I have just printed wirelessly to the D110 from a laptop. Is there something I must do to make the printer "Available" through "HP Printer Control" from my Galaxy Note 10.1?
    Thanks
    mtcstle

I own a Samsung phone myself, and generally any of the print functions you see in office apps and web browsers are actually added in by samsung with their own software. This is why it is telling you only samsung printers can be used. If you save files in Polaris you can open them within the HP Eprint Home and Biz app and print them.
If you are saving the files as a PDF it will work fine locally without actually using the eprint service, however if they are MS Office type documents like .doc, .xml etc, you will have to set up eprint on the printer and activate the app. The reason for this is that Office documents are rendered on the cloud servers in order to print. The advantage of setting all of this up is that you can print files even when you aren't at home.

  • How to print multiple form for tag printing in smartforms

    Dear Experts,
I am working on tag printing in smartforms .in tag printing i am showing
    1.material no.
    2.material descrption.
    3.material doc no.
    4.Quantity
    5.supplier.
my requirement is that for example , if the mat. document no.  has a material of 10,000.00 quantity , in tag printing it should come 1,000.00 of each tag  and total no of tag should be 10. and it should come one after another .
and the page format size 8 x 6 cm. is it possible .if possible how ! how the system will know how many tag is to be printed . please reply its urgent.

    Hi Kumar,
Let me know. is the quantity 1000.00 is fixed? if so thn you can achieve the requirement.
    For example:
There are  A-material with 20000.00 quantity thn  u can first divide the quantity with 1000.00
                 v_ex = 20000.00/1000.00=20.
thn  you can repeat the  print of the smartform for 20 times by passing  the parameter to  form fm.
    Please reward if  useful.

  • Printing process used for iPhoto prints?

    Hi,
Can anyone tell me what printing process is used when ordering enlargements through iPhoto?
I've placed one of my photos in a international exhibit (yay!) and in preparation for the show, they want to know the printing process for inclusion on the display card. Is it a Chromogenic print, or a Gelatin silver print, or an Ultra-Chrome archival digital print, or an Archival Pigment print on watercolor paper, or a B&W Fiber print, or a Platinum print, etc...
I know that the print order was any of the above, but I'm wondering how I should reply to this request. Is it just a "Digital Print on photographic paper"? Or is there some more accurate way of describing the print process?
    Thanks!!

This is the info from Kodak Print services:
    http://www.kodakgallery.com/HelpAboutPrints.jsp?#printing
"We print your photos on high-quality Kodak paper, a resin-coated, silver-halide color paper optimized for digital printers. A light source inside our digital printers exposes the photographic paper pixel by pixel. This process mimics traditional photography, in which light from the subject exposes photographic film inside of a camera."
If you want more info about their archival process, you could try sending them an email.

I have accessed my printer on two different computers wirelessly. I need a "printer code" for other devices, which apparently is printed on some "sheet"....which won't print. I get a message that "a web services information sheet will be printed...." but nothing ever comes out (but documents do so I know it works.)
How do I get this information sheet to actually print?

Thank you SO much for your quick response! I think it kept dropping the connection intermittently and screwed up the request to "enable" the network printing. (That was on the page where you enter the ip address in a webpage) so when I asked to print that info page, it just lost the request every time.
I did google around a little and reset the router and the printer by replugging in the printer. I also reset some automatic IP stuff  to manual setting (I am REALLY not familiar with this kind of thing...can you tell!? ha ha!!!)  Anyway, I followed the instructions for a different printer (with a similar connection issue) here on the hp site...the DNS thing seemed to make the difference:

I hope other non-techies like me can follow those instructions too. That 8.8.8.8. and 8.8.4.4. stuff and the re-plugging in seemed to somehow make it work!
