Print Dialog box wont appear when "Print Pages" from Bookmarks Window

When I use the "print pages" option from the Bookmarks window the pages are sent directly to the default printer with the default settings. How do I get the print dialog window to appear if I select "print pages" from the Bookmarks window so that I may modify the print settings?

I wasn't aware that you could get the print dialog box to appear after dragging a supported file to the alias, regardless of where it resided. I've never seen this happen on 10.4.x or 10.3.9 so I tested the Option key and found it didn't force the dialog box to appear either. Tried a few others keys also but no luck in getting the box to appear.
Re the fierycupsfilter issue. EFI have released an updater that replaces the system-provided version and therefore stops the need to modify the ppd.

I can't help with the scan/print problem. You seem to have done everything I would try.
I don't know if maybe using a registry cleaner would help.

  • Print dialog box wont go away...

Weird print stuff? Every time I print the print dialog box stays on the screen?
It can be moved but none of the buttons do anything. And the print boxes will stack up as many times as you print.
Driver issue? since OS X 10.6?

    HI,
If the printer icon is still in the Dock, click that icon, then click: Quit.
if that doesnt work, open Activity Monitor (Applications/Utilities). Select My Processes from the pop up menu on the right. Search for your printer under Process Name, then click the red Quit Process button.
If that doesn't help, go to...
~/Library/Preferences and locate the preference file associated with your printer, it will read something like this. Preference files can become corrupted. The next time you print, your Mac will create a new print pref file for you.
com.nameofprinter.plist (I assume they're HP's according to your prior posts).
Move that file to the Trash and restart your Mac.

  • How to change gtk theme dialog box button appearance when using tab?

    Hi,
I'm using candido as my gtk theme and have noticed that when a dialog box pops up (Yes / No), it is extremely difficult to tell which option is highlighted. How do I change this appearance? I searched through the gtkrc and even used gimp to manipulate the images used via trial and error to see if I found one that worked. Can someone familiar with gtk themes tell me which gtkrc or image to alter to affect this appearance?
I use tab to select my option a ton and hate not being able to tell what I'm looking at.
    For reference,
    - here is the current look (can you tell which one is highlighted? It's "Cancel" -- just slightly bigger or a fine line around it) LINK
    - here is the gtkrc if that helps? LINK
For one more point of clarification, I'm not talking about the button appearance on mouseover. I have identified that the button-prelight.png file changes that. I specifically am talking purely about a dialog popping up and then using the tab key alone to highlight through the options. I really like this theme, but this one thing drives me crazy. This appearance changes when I select different themes with lxappearance, so I've narrowed it down to being a gtk-theme issue, not my openbox theme or icon set.
    Many thanks!

  • Dialog box pops up when refreshing pages

Basically, whenever I tried to refresh certain pages, a dialog box would pop up as you can see from the screenshot (http://i.imgur.com/yyVNkRE.png). It only happens for some sites (e.g http://ch.nicovideo.jp/portal/anime) and it happened straight after upgrading to 27.0.
I'm not sure if this is actually a problem or not but it's getting pretty annoying at the moment.
Thank you, help would be appreciated it.

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
    *Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
    *Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
    "Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
    *Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do NOT click the Reset button on the Safe Mode start window.

  • How to force dialog boxes to appear on same monitor as program window?

I have a three-monitor setup, with the Adobe Acrobat X program window on my right-most monitor.  Running Windows 7 64-bit SP1.
My Open and Save dialogs remember where they are and logically show up on the right monitor where the program is.
However, other dialogs, particularly the "Document Properties" and "Rotate Pages" dialogs, always appear on the left-most monitor no matter where I place them.  It just doesn't remember it's settings.  It's a pain to always have to stop what I'm doing on the right monitor and completely rotate my head around to the left monitor.  Does anyone know a way around this glitch?
    Thanks!

When execute the program, it seems that the JPanel not capture the all size of JFrame.Of course it won't, you're also adding a JLabel to the JFrame.

  • Taking control of OS print dialog box

    Hi,
Can I customize the OS print dialog box which appears, when I execute the FlexPrintJob.start method? I want to enable page range selection and some other fields.
Other option is, if some how I can get the list of printers and other printer specific options availabe in my custom Dialog box.

ShellExec is part of lvwutil and merely calls a function in Shell32.dll. There is nothing about the function call that controls the display of the printer dialog. I think that what shell32.dll does when it prints (just like right clicking on the file) is print the file according to what is defined about that file type in Windows Folder Options. On my Win2K system, the print application is defined as "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office\msohtmed.exe" /p %1. If I remove the /p, then Word starts up and in order to print, I get a printer dialog when choosing Print from the File menu. So it seems like the printer dialog is entirely dependant on the application that does the printing. I get no dialog when I use the VI to print a .txt file. I
nstead of using shell32, you might want to try some ActiveX method or property of an application like Internet Explorer that can open and print an html file.

  • Printer names in print dialog box

When I print a document the printer list contains printers I no longer own or with network addresses that are no longer valid/active. There are only two printers in printer Setup Utility but 5 or more in the print dialog box (even more when printing from a Classic application).
How do I delete these printers? A search of the hard disk does not find the names shown in the list and the various ppd folders do not seem to contain these printers (at least under the names given in the dialog box).
    Thanks

    Thanks - all gone!
Printing Prefs are files named com.apple.print.*
I think it will be in one of those. It doesn't hurt
to delete them (except if you have some presets you
want to save, don't delete the presets one). Do File
    Find file.

  • Printer dialog box does not appear

When I do  File>Print  I'm getting the following error message:
"The saved printer information is not compatible with this version of Photoshop, or the saved printer is no longer available. You will need to check your printer settings before printing."
The Print option then gets grayed out and a print dialog box never appears.  Don't you need the printer dialog box to select the printer?  How can I select a printer so that at least the dialog box comes up?

Someone had a similar issue below and their solution fixed my problem also:
Go into windows control panel and get into the printer section. Choose  another printer as the default printer as in MS XPS document writer and  save. Then open PS back up and select what you want to print and also  the printer you want to print on.

  • Adobe X no print dialog box and program closes when printing

Have one user who started encountering this problem today:
    Opens up PDF
Clicks on the Print icon (or File - Print)
The Print Dialog box never appears
Adobe 10.1.1 program then immediately closes - nothing in the event log
Able to get the PDF to print only if right clicking on the file and selecting Print (but don't get to select any Printing options)
Have tried selecting a different printer with the same results
Have uninstalled and reinstalled the program
    Any help is appreciated

I have a similar problem with the the same printer.  Excel works fine until you ask to print preview, this takes about a minute to appear, and about another minute if you ask it to print too.  Once you've printed and are back in Excel anything you try to do now has a delay.  I've tried then changing the printer i want to use to a networked one which makes Excel return to it's normal self.
I've also tried sharing this printer to make sure it wasn't the PC but it is the same on any I've tried.

  • Print dialog box changed, no longer offers certain options

One of my users suddenly noticed that two of her machines' print dialog boxes have changed when trying to print out of Acrobat.  She's used to seeing this screen when she goes to print:
However now she sees this screen instead, and it's missing the Page Size & Handling options.
Using Acrobat X Standard, tried reinstalling but it didn't fix the problem.  Any ideas?

Which dot version of Acrobat X Standard is loaded?  Update to the latest version which I believe is 10.1.10 now.

  • Printer Dialog Box with No. of copies & Print Range.

I am trying to print a report(oracle) from a form (using a custom PRINT button) and wanted the printer dialog box to appear, for which I used the "WIN_API_DIALOG.SELECT_PRINTER(prtname, port, true)" API in the "When button pressed trigger".
But this API only takes care of a printer change, my issue here is how do I capture the changes pertaining to Orientation, Number of Copies, Print range etc. I know there is the "Properties - Advanced" option in the printer dialog box but changing values there doesn't help, as I had already mentioned the API passes only printer name.
So, if any one has faced a similar issue and has a solution,
    PLEASE RESPOND IMMEDIATELY !!!
    Thanks

Unfortunatley there is no way to give Forms that information. The printer dialog in D2kwutil is only designed to get the printer name / port, none of the other information. Even it it could Forms does not expose an API to effect the PRINT; built-in.

  • Hide Number of copies in Print Dialog box

    Hi All,
I have a requirement in smartform wherein i have to disable the area where we enter number of copies in the Print dialog box, which comes when we execute the program.
In the print dialog box we usually enter the output device and can choose various options in Spool Control, Number of Copies, etc.
So here my requirement is that even if user enters more than 1 in Number of copies, in the output it should take only as 1.
Kindly let me know how to do this..
    Thanks,

    Hi Ashwani,
You need to do an implicit enhancement for this requirement.
    Program : SAPLSTXBC
    Include : LSTXBCFOP
    Form : PBO_FRONTEND
    Code  :
    LOOP AT SCREEN.
      IF SCREEN-NAME = 'SSFPP-TDCOPIES'.
       SCREEN-INPUT = '0'.
       MODIFY SCREEN.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
