Print(er) settings for printing DIN A6-prescription

Hello All,
a colleague want to print out DIN A6 prescriptions with HP Laserjet 2055 printer. In SAP we use the device tpye 'HPLJ4: HP Laserjet 4 series PCL-5' for this printer.
The prescriptions must be printed out in landscape ( the paper insert at the printer is like DIN A4 in upright format ).
The allocation in the SAPSCIPT is now DIN A5, landscape. But the printer prints out centered.
There is no DIN A6 size available in SAPSCRIPT. Is ist possible to install this in SAP?
Or must there be a special device type in SAP?
Thanks for your helping answers!

  • Preferred Sharpening Settings For Printing

What sharpening settings do you folks normally use for printing to matte, luster and gloss papers from Aperture?
Lightroom has an algorithmic output sharpening feature that takes the image size, output resolution and media type (probably more things, too) into account. I'd like to replicate that with somem print presets in Aperture.

Thank u, sorted it out, The problem was that I was inputting Send and Archive instead of Send Only.

  • Where is best place to make settings for printing on 8"x10" paper?

Does PS interpolate (scale?) my final print image when I set the size paper I'm printing to? I would like to avoid that.
I want to combine several photos into a single image and print on 8"x10" paper w. 1/2" borders. Where is the best place to make these settings in CS6?
Do I set my canvas dimensions in the "New File" dialogue box to Width: 7 inches and Height: 9; and then choose 8 x 10 paper size when printing, which leaves 1" for borders?  Or do I go to "Image Size" and make the settings there? Or in the Print Dialogue box?  Thanks.

I would suggest the Print Dialog. Here your printer would be set to 8 x10 paper (borderless),but in the print dialog under "Scaled Print Size",you would set the print size you want without resampling.
At least that's what I would do for a single project. Start by checking "Scale to fit media" so that you start with the entire image.
Keep "centered" checked. Then uncheck "Scale to fit Media" and dial in your settings.

  • Where are the settings for printing onto thicker?

    Hello.
On my new MacBook Pro OS X 10.7.2 I have not been able to locate the printer settings that allow one to specify paper type (i.e., paper thickness). I used this feature frequently on my previous MacBook as it allowed me to dramatically improve the quality of printing from my laser printer when printing onto various thicker paper stocks. I sooo hope it's still there and I'm just overlooking it!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Liz

A few things to check (apologies in advance if you have already checked these).
The default print dialog for many apps does not show the printer menus. For some you need to press the Show Details button. For others you need to press the Printer button on the bottom of the print dialog to access the printer menus.
Another thing to note is the driver. If you were using a different driver on a previous version of OS X, the new driver to support Lion may not have the same menus. If you can tell us the model of printer you have and possibly the version of that driver (this can be found in System Information > Printers) then we could download and install this driver and have a look ourselves.

  • Need printer workflow settings for PS CS5 and HP Photosmart 8750

    Friends:
This question must get asked periodically, but I couldnt find an answer:
I have Photoshop CS5 and an HP Photosmart 8750 Printer with these inkjet cartridges (original HP) availiable: (97 Tricolor, 101 Blue Photo, 102 Gray Photo)  I also have HP glossy phot paper.  Using a Mac Pro with OS 10.6.5 (Snow Leopard)
What do I set my PS5, My Print dialog and my Print Setting to get a decent color photo?  I get muddy photos now and am wating lots of fine glossy photo paper.  To get an aproximate photo I have to boost brightness by 60% on my photo.  Still the printed photo doenst look like the screen.
Thanks for your help, printer profiles and suggestions!!

At the company I work for we hardly print from Photoshop as we have a pdf-workflow, but I think you might make it easier for others to help you if you provide screenshots (posted with the camera icon) of your print dialog windows, especially those regarding Color Management.

  • Final Print pop up for printer will not pop up

I have used this product for years.  In order to print my designs I create them, the OPEN them in photoshop.  Go to PRINT, then I select my settings for my Brother GT-3 printer.... then I hit the final PRINT button... then another screen should POP UP - allowing me to save my work and this is not happening.  I am using photoshop elements 12.  Please help me fix this issue.

I've never come across a prompt to save my image during the print process. That only happens when you try to close an image or the application and you have opened images that have been changed.

  • Need suggestion on Color Profile settings for printing image

I am trying to print the image below on a Xerox Docucolor 242.  Im trying to get a better understanding of profiles and all that, which I THINK I do now.
Under Color Settings in Indesign, I have under Working Spaces, RGB is set to my monitor brand and type and CMYK is set to my exact printer.  I have both of the Color Management Policies set to Off.
When I print the RGB version of this image, everything looks ok except for a very faded look.  Probably noticed mostly because of all the black background that is used.  When I print the CMYK version of it, it seems to print nice and dark but there is a strong white halo effect showing around both the flames which doesnt show on the screen or the RGB printout.
Anyone know what settings are causing the faded look in the RGB printout and the halo effects in the CMYK printout?

As others have said, this is a complex process, but one that is solvable.
I agree with others the RGB profile should NOT be the monitor but the profile of the original image. For most midrange cameras this will be sRGB or Adobe RGB depending on the settings in the Camera when the images was captured. It is NOT arbitary and choosing the wrong profile will have a large affect on the image.
The CMYK profile for the printer is more complex. There are two steps in calibrating and profiling a Xerox printer. First the calibration, or linearisation, sets the printer to a known state that can be repeated. This is best done with a spectrophotometer and not the CalorCal software provided by Xerox which uses a known colour chart scanned from the glass of the copier. The glass method of calibration does not calibrate correctly at the black end of the curve actually turns over reducing the available black, and is due to reflections from the glass. Calibration is normally done daily.
When the calibration has been completed a full ICC profile is created by printing a profile chart of some 2000 colours and reading this with the spectrophotometer. This is only valid for a calibrated printer and for the type of paper used. Different papers will require different profiles. It is a once only operation.
Another thing to watch out for is how your RGB images are being converted to CMYK. There is a setting both in the Creative suite and in the printer to set the black compensation. What you want to achieve is the same black as in the original image. In the CMYK case this will be printed as a combination of black toner pus a mixture of CMY to incread the density. The profile takes care of this for you.
Your description of weak blacks suggests that the black me be being printed as pure black toner.

  • How do you access full printer settings for printing?

I wanted to print something for the first time yesterday.
I've got 3 printers attached used for different things.
When I selected print it brought up a basic print box that let me choose printer, paper type and size, but I couldn't access any more specific settings - specifically one of my Canon printers has A4 paper loaded in a tray for documents and 6x4 paper in the auto sheet feeder - I couldn't find a way to change which paper source to use, and the printer is in another room conneceted via an Airport Express to save a bit of space.

  • Export preset settings for Print Media?

i am about to set down and follow rudy gay's tutorial on exporting images with a logo overlay (thanks for all the help in finding this document) and i am wondering if there are an expert or two on the list that might be able to share screenshots of their export presets.
i have gotten to the point where i have applied metadata to imagery and i had a request recently to send in images that are larger than 1 MB but i have been really confused as to what i am doing here. for instance, i have three projects that were created by importing folders of images from this person which have imagery:
    "print" project = 24.75 MB 2400 x 3600 px
    "ppt" project = 505 KB and1024 x 683 px
    "web" project = 324 KB 1024 x 683 px
i /think/ all of these are 72 dpi but i am not sure how to check this.
plus, i just ran an export as JPG at 100% size from the PRINT project and they all landed on my desktop at something over 1 - 4 MB in size.
basically, i am hoping that someone wouldn't mind sharing their settings and perhaps a little bit of an explanation so i can start to teach myself how to make this work better over here.
i realize that some of these things may be considered particular to an individual or even proprietary in some way but anything i can get on this will put me much farther ahead than i am now.
    TIA

I apologize for not getting to this sooner.
How are you viewing the PDF that shows the discoloration? Acrobat or some other application? Is overprint preview turned on in Acrobat?
This is definitely transparency related. When you choose PDF 1.3 you are flattening the transparency and the white lines you see are called "stitching." Thay ae a dispaly artifact in Acrobat (they'll disappear if you turn off smoothing), and though they may show in a low-resolution digital print, they are usually not apparent in high-resolution output from a press.

  • Settings for printing on A3 size

I,m quite new to Keynote, have to finish a presentation and am not sure how to set the resolution to become A3 prints without white borders. I 've tried 1400/100 but it doesn't work okay.
    Thanks for any help

Any multiple of 420x297 should work, like 1260x891. Export as PDF (uncheck all options) and scale in the printer dialog to the desired format, this should work on all A formats.
Other way to calculate it would be the proportion of the lenghts which is the square root of 2 (1.41421...).

  • Landscape and Portrait Page Format  Settings for Printing

    Hi Experts,
The client requirement is to print the Smart form in 8.5 * 11 (inches) in  (Portrait) mode.
In my page settings i have kept the Page Format = 'LETTER' .
However when the page is printed , the formatting comes out to be A4(Landscape mode).
Please let me know what i am missing.
    Thanks

    Hi Abhishek,
I can suggest couple of options here.
Check the settings by clicking on the Page you have created. Under O/P options we need to ensure its A4 potrait.
Secondly you can create a custom Page Format with Potrait & Lanscape both options and depending on printer settings it will dynamically decide if we need to print Landscape of Portrairt
Also check the Default printer Settings.

  • Best color settings for printer

I'm creating a newsletter for a group my organization works with. They want to include tons of pictures which I am editing in Photoshop CS4.
We have a toshbia printer/ copier in our office that runs on CMYK. I converted all the images to CMYK (SWOP) hoping they would print more clearly. However, the colors are seriously off and all the images come out incredibly blurry. Everything else is printing very crisp. Is this a color issue or a printer issue? Anyone know how I can get better quality with correct colors?
    Thanks!

What makes you think this is a CMYK printer? Is it driven by a Postscript RIP?
Even though they all use CMYK toners or inks, non-Postscript printers and copiers are considered RGB devices and expect to receive RGB data, which they convert internally using their own conversion tables. If you send CMYK to such printers it gets converted back to RGB and then to CMYK a second time.
If this really is a Postscript CMYK device, the odds are pretty good that SWOP is not the optimal profile to match. It's also important that you decide where color managemtn will take place, in ID or in the printer, and disable the other option during printing. In other word, if you choose Let InDesign Determine Colors youmust turn off and printer color management in the printer controls, or if you choose Postscript Printer Determines Colors you should be sure there is color management in the printer that is enabled.
