Hi All,
How can i get print from application for stanadard reports.My requirement is to print pickslip report output once it is submitted.How can i do this?

Use destype=printer and desname=<printer name>.
Use google or the search option in this forum for plenty of examples.

MFP M127fn connected, test printing OK, can't print from applications

Hello Everyone!
I have just set up my M127fn via USB on a Windows 8 system. The set up went fine. I have a small stack of test pages from the HP software, but it won't print anything from any applications like MSOffice. The HP diagnostic software (Print and Scan Doctor 4.6) can communicate with the printer and everything checks out OK.
Any suggestions?

I have replied twice to your last posting, but have heard no response. Unless a solution can be presented quickly, I fell I must return the product. LPug and play was introduced with Windows 95 and this HP product has not lived up to that 20 year old technological standard. My previous replies are copied below.

Hello again!
I haven't heard a response to my most recent reply. Is there anything you can suggest before I give up and return this HP product to the store? I would like a quick resolution to this. As an update to my previous email (copied below), printing is no longer working through Adobe Reader.

Google Chrome - yes!

Ah! You're creating a PDF out of Word through Acrobat. The cutoff is most likely being affected by the printer chosen.
When you call up the print dialogue in Word, check to see what printer is being used. If it's a typical inkjet printer, Acrobat is using the print margins of that printer as the cutoff area. Since most such printers can't print to the last inch and half or so of the paper, that's where it would be cut off.
Near the bottom, under the preview of the document, click on the Page Setup button. It doesn't really matter which printer you select here. Under Paper Size, choose Manage Custom Sizes. Under the Non-Printable Area heading, choose the same printer and set the paper size you're using.
Note that the unprintable margins for that printer will be filled in automatically. That's what's being cut off. Click the + button to create a modified version. The default will be "Untitled". Give it a new name if you want. Then set all of the margins to zero. Click OK. Now you'll have that as a choice under Paper Size. Doesn't matter that the actual printer can't use this setting since you're going to a PDF. Click OK to get back to the main Word print dialogue.
Now choose Save as Adobe PDF. It should give you an exact duplicate of what's on screen in Word since as far as Acrobat is concerned, your "printer" has no unprintable margins.

TRANSFER OF DATA FROM APPLICATION SERVER TO REPORT

I have a file on application serverin T-code AL11(sap directories).I want to bring the data from this file to my report.
Please explain me procedure with example.

If I am not wrong u r trying to read the data from the file which is on the apps server rite?
Use open data set with input for reading the file from application server .......... output is to write the file onto the application server
check the below sample code.......

Print Bar code for inspection report

Dear all,
I have a requirement for printing bar code in the inspection report. Normally, we use QGA3 print inspection report which based on the script form. Now as I would like to add bar code, as I know, I have to use smart form to realize. but it can just enter Form in the standard way. So could anyone give me some useful suggestion to realize this requirement?

Identify corresponding form.In the character format we have to define the bar code and assign that one infornt of which we need the bar code.
eg:
SE71 screen if you go the character
there below you will get the bar code
specify one character for that bar code and
in place of which u want to print place it.
for eg u have character specified as bb,
and in place of Inspection lot (w_lot) you want to have bar code
the just type.
<bb>w_lot</>, this will print the bar code for instead of inspection lot

Code 128 Barcode printed from Application Express

Hi,
My colleague and I have written a procedure to generate Code128 Barcodes. These appear fine on the screen within Application Express 3. But when we export the file as an RTF or PDF document to our BI_Publisher server running under LINUX RedHat the Barcodes are greyed out and cannot be seen.
Anyone any ideas on how to solve this? It is extremely irritating only to be able to offer our users the ability to print the Application Express page off rather than a proper document.

Printing Blank pages for SSRS Reports in Firefox browser

I have created an SSRS Report that works well on chrome, but when I use the site in Firefox the SSRS Page prints blank pages though the report displays properly. I have tried every thing like reducing table width. I am using the report viewer control.

Generally, if the report display properly in the browser, it should be also work well when we print the report. And I can’t reproduce the scenario in my own environment. As to this issue, I recommend that you can try to run it in compatibility mode or use
IE explorer to print the report.
If this issue still exists, please try to update the report viewer control to latest release and check this issue again.

Print layout designer for develop report based on query

Dear Experts/Gurus,
I am amazing about the manage previous reconciliation report. When I opened it using print layout designer, it looks like the report is not built using query, but I am not sure yet. This is very confusing. I created query similar with manage previous reconciliation (MPR), but when I link the query to print layout and try to make similar format/appearance with MPR report (reconciliation management (system)), it is not success.
Isn't the MPR report built not based on query ? I appreciate your answer. TIA

I am not sure I understand what's the problem:
Is it the layout that is different or the data?
Regarding the data you can use SQL Profiler (maybe you did?) to find out what queries are fired, but please note that there are some stored procedures in the DB that are used for some specific functions - not sure whether the "MPR" uses any of these.
Then you must include some non-default filter in SQL Profiler...
...but you can also use the logging functionality in B1 for that purpose:
Just activate the logging (see the "log" folder in the B1 subdirectory) in the corresponding config file: choose the option to have the SQLs logged in conjunction with the logging being triggered in all cases (not just error).
Thus you will get all the SQLs - just plain - from the B1 application, but note that it will obviously slow it down!

I am using the 'GRAPH_HIERARCHY' function module for displaying the graph.

Hi Sathish,
You can create your own PF-Status by copying it from the standard PF-Status of the output list. Then you include the print & save button.
To get the GUI status of the output list follow menu path SYSTEM => STATUS to get the GUI status & its program.
Go to SE41(Menu Painter) => enter the Standard Program & status name & click on copy button to copy these to a Z one & then finally use it in your program using SET PF-STATUS statement.

Procedure
After defining the sort, perform the following steps
1. From the menu bar choose Print Layout Designer → Group.
2. Select a group number.
3. Select 1 for a sub-sort or sub-total for the primary sort, select 2 for the secondary sort and so on.
Each group is linked to its relevant row number in the Sort window described above. Thus, every field created in a certain group relates only to its group's corresponding row in the Sort window.
The Repetitive Area Header titles are now hidden as well as any field created in the Repetitive Area Footer. The reason is that these two areas are linked to groups. Each one of the groups has two areas of its own.
4. To define the sub-sort, do the following:
a. In the Repetitive Area Header assign a title for the required sort.
b. Create a new Formula field
c. Choose the Formula Editor button and select the operand SortValue() in the Operation field.
This action will print the Items table divided into separate titles each time the Item number changes.
5. To define sub-totals do the following:
a. In the Repetitive Area Footer create a Formula field.
b. Choose the Formula Editor pushbutton and select the operand ColSum(UniqueID as String) in the Operation field (for the Quantity field from the rows in the Sales Quotation).
The field within the brackets defines the column for which a total will be calculated. You can also calculate totals for the Price and Total columns.

PDF Preview working intermittently from workspace for FR reports

We are facing a strange issue while running HFM reports from workspace and taking PDF Preview, the report runs fine but when going for the PDF preview we dont get it every time.
Some it works when we try again by clicking on PDF preview button again,
Sometime it does not work for all the reports.
The issue gets tempararily resoloved when we reboot the servers. But can re-occur any time.
We are using Hyperion 11.1.1.3 on Windows 2003 SP 2, with Ghost Script 8.54 (32 Bit)

Yes, Oracle support recomanded installing GPLghost script 8.63 version , earlier we were using AFL Ghost Script 8.54.
But we have met only partial success till now, it worked in Developmented envrionment but did not work in other environment.

Best way to print from application

Hi!
I have an application handling employee information. I'm trying to figure out the best way to print all information liked to an employee. What is best? I want to generate the page with a good layout, not just plain text(pictures, different fonts). I've tryed to draw strings on a picture but there are problems with page brakes. Is it hard to generate html files from xml, and are there any good tutorials or is it better to use html?

I suppose your app need to print some type of report, right?
If so, go www.google.com and take a look at Jasper (you can do PDF,HTML,etc)
and IReports (to build the 'appearence file')

Third-Party Application for Historical Reporting

As we migrate from our current version of UCCX Premium 7.0(1)SR05ES06_Build063 to version 8.5. We will be migrating the data over to new hardware. We are concerned about reporting. We currently have a lot of custom reports and we are uncertain how those will work after we migrate to the new database platform. Can anyone recommend some third party applications that could give us more functionality that what the current and new versions have to offer?

I can't really comment on third party products, as I'm not familiar enough with any in particular.
However - I have done a lot of migrations from Windows to Linux including custom reporting. The database schema is mostly identical, so migrating any of your reports should be possible. It's a little tricky as you have to know both MS SQL and Informix... The Crystal templates themselves generally just work once you have done the SQL stuff and modified the XML report definitions.
