Print from history

I'm viewing my history from days ago and need to print one of the previously viewed pages. Command P doesn't work and if I click the page it shows present day. Any adivice?

Unless you cached that page itself, or the website offers the ability to look back, you can't do it. The items shown in the browser's history are just links, not cached pages. This means that when the website updates a page, the link in History will take you to the current (new) page.
This is common practice. Consider 'live' pages like the ones in these Apple forums, or at news sites - if they had to archive each page before updating it, they'd soon run out of server space.
You can save a webpage as-is in Safari quite easily - with the webpage open, select Save As from the File menu. This will give you a personal copy of that page, one which you can open and view anytime via a double-click.

  • Can i find and print the history through the firefox browser from a mac?

I am trying to print recent history of the sites visited from a Macintosh laptop. I can not figure out how to open up the history and print it. I was wondering if this was possible?

This is how you can print Firefox history (on MacOS but should work on other platforms)
    1) Download and install SQLite Manager FF plugin
    2) Open SQLite Manager from the tools menu
    3) Open places.sqlite from your-home/Library/Application Support/Firefox/profiles/your.profile/
    4) Hit the Execute SQL tab
    5) Use a select similar to this.....
    <pre><nowiki>SELECT datetime(moz_historyvisits.visit_date/1000000,'unixepoch'), moz_places.url, moz_places.title
    FROM moz_places, moz_historyvisits
    WHERE moz_places.id = moz_historyvisits.place_id AND url LIKE '%youtube%'</nowiki></pre>
    6) Click the actions dropdown to export to CSV
    Hope this helps

  • I can't print web pages since a recent upgrade to 4.01. The print command works but the page comes out empty. right now a copy the link to IE and print from there. HELP!

When printing from the mozilla 4.01 browser the printer spits out blank pages. It seems like it happened after downloading and running mozilla 4.01 browser.
I have to copy the link to IE (boo!) to print the coupon or page on my printer.
    Why?

The "Use custom settings for history" selection allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting this doesn't make any changes to history and cookie settings.
Firefox shows "Use custom settings for history" as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".
"Never Remember History" means that Private Browsing is active and "Always use private browsing mode" gets a checkmark.
You need to remove the checkmark on "Always use private browsing mode" to leave Private Browsing mode or chose the "Remember History" setting.

  • I can not print from Firefox, but can from all other browsers and applications (such as MS Word, notepad, etc.). I get a print error on the printing monitor like it's a spooling problem.

This is a recent development but I can not print anything from within Firefox. The print functions open normally, it is going to the correct printer which works..I can print from other browsers and applications. It acts like it is spooling and then a print error occurs and it won't print. I closed and reopened Firefox, opened it in safe mode, cleaned out history/cache/cookies, and rebooted twice. Nothing makes any difference. Also tried printing from the print preview which had the same result. I can print from all other browsers and applications without a problem so it must be within Firefox.

  • Can't print from safari to hp 4620 appears to print but does not first to print from safari notes print no problem any suggestions?

Can't print from safari to hp 4620 appears to print but does not first time i have attempted to print from safari , notes print fine no problems. It is like on a desktop my print is sitting in the queue there are error messages only the usual print dialogue. I've turned the printer off and back on with no luck any suggestions?

That's very strange.  See if clearing the cache in Safari will make it work.  I'll include the steps below.  If that doesn't help, install a different browser, such as Opera, to see if that will print from pages that Safari won't.  If it will, then something is wrong with Safari.  If it doesn't print, then the web pages might have printing blocked.  There are sites that are doing that for copyright reasons.  Let me know what you find.
To clear the cache on Safari:
    Open Settings.
    Select Safari
    Touch Clear Cache.
    Select Clear.
    Touch Clear Cookies.
    Select Clear.
    Touch Clear History.
    Select Clear.

  • HP OfficeJet 8500A Premium doesn't print from wireless (operating system is XP with service pack 3)

From all indications, my HP OfficeJet Pro 8500A Premium is connected to the network. But, when I send an item to print from my iPhone via email or from my computer via email, all I get is a message that says my print job has been received, but my printer is busy printing other stuff--which it isn't.
I have the HP ePrint app on my iPHone, and I can sit near the ocmputer and printer and print a picture from my iPhone using this app. But I cannot print using the printer's email address. and, yes, I've double checked the address.
    Any ideas? thanks

Hi there, when you check the printer job history in your ePrintCenter account what do you see? Is there a record of the failed print jobs? I had ordered a photo book print two years back. I want to reorder the same book again now. However, I have lost the album project/photos from iphoto.
Is there any way to see my print order history and reorder the same book for print ?

No.  Apple only keeps the pdf file for a book for 30 days.  Without the library and book project you won't be able to reorder the same book.
Even though the horse is out of the barn the following tutorial might be of help for future books, i.e. create a new library for each book): iP08 - Archiving an iPhoto Book for Editing and/or Ordering at a Later Date

  • MacBook Pro unable to print from Firefox

    Hello,
Fairly new to the mac world. I recently purchased a MacBook Pro and it has been running great! I had no problems printing or creating pdfs from Mozilla's Firefox. After running some regularly scheduled updates, I can no longer print from Firefox, either directly connected to the printer or to create a pdf document. I can print and create pdfs from safari as well as word documents. All my software updates are current. Anyone have any suggestions?

You could try deleting just the FF application from the Applications folder and downloading it again. Your cookies, bookmarks, and history are stored elsewhere so would not be affected.
It's possible that repairing permissions might find an ownership issue. That's the easiest thing to try.

  • Printing from memory

Hi all, I've had a search and can't find any answers on this so I'm here for assistance.
I have for the record an HP PhotoSmart C7280.
Let's suppose I print a document and then delete it.
Two weeks later I need to reprint but not only has the trash been emptied the original source of the document is gone. Now in the print manager that comes up I can see my print history.
Hopefully the printer or the computer has kept something it can use to print from and not just a list.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Nope, not going to happen. That is just a list of documents that were printed. You would need the original document, in the original place (in the same folder it was in the first time it was printed), for you to print it again.
Even if you still had that document stored someplace on your drive but in a different location, you moved it from the original location to another folder after that print job was completed, it would not be able to print it until you pointed it to the new location.
But I think all of this is MOOT as in that dialog window you posted there is NO "Print" or "Re-Print" button. So it is just a list of files that have been printed and No way to Reprint from that dialog.

  • Very Frustrating! Printing from Preview or Photoshop - not happening again!

It's Christmas time, and I'm printing my home made cards... so I've done all the artwork, printed a test from Photoshop, and that was fine... make some changes, and now it won't print! Exported it all as a PDF, try printing from Preview, and the same thing happens.
Same thing happened a couple of weeks ago, but I can't remember how I fixed it! The job comes up in the printer spool, and then vanishes. Looking at the printer history log, it thinks it's printed it, but nothing. I can do a test page from the printer dialog, I can print from the web, but not from Photoshop or Preview
    Help!
This is driving me nuts I tell you!
    Cheers

First, do you have the original PSD to go back to (and if you don't, you now know to never kill off your source). Second, the JPG now has no fonts embedded, textures etc are irrelevant. So what is the resolution? Check out the rez of your printer and make sure the document's rez is no higher. Generally, anything more than 600dpi for home use is wasted, though some of the really high quality inkjets can go much higher. If your jpeg is very high rez (or if its dimensions are really big) resize it to be exactly the print size and try again.

  • HP F2210 printer, wired LAN, cannot print from iMac when printer is installed on Windows XP.

    Let's try this again...
I have a home network, and have installed my newly purchased HP F2210 printer on one of the PC's running Windows XP SP3.  I have fully installed & updated the drivers, and the printing functions work perfectly from the computer on which it's installed.
I am also able to print without issue from any other PC running windows on my network.
My wife has an iMac running Macintosh OS 10.4.11.  When connecting directly to the network via a wired connection, I am unable to locate the F2210 as an available printer on the network.
    Troubleshooting steps taken:
    *  I have tried disabling airport to ensure it's trying to find the printer through the wired connection rather than the wireless.
    *  I have attempted to install "additional drivers" on the PC the printer is connected to.  THIS FAILED, as I was unable to get windows to find the correct drivers on the install disk.
    *  I attempted to install the printer drivers directly on the iMac.  I was still unable to locate the printer after doing this.
Any suggestions for other steps to try would be appreciated.

  • Printing from Lion to internal fax modem at Leopard (PPC)

    Hello ,
I'am trying to print with a MacBook Air (MacBookAir3,2; Mac OS X 10.7.1) to an internal modem at a Mac Mini (PowerMac10,1; MacOS X 10.5.8) and it failed with following error message at the Mac Mini (PrinterProxy->Printer->Log & History ):
A fax number was not provided.
A fax number at Fax Information at priniting dialog at the MacBookAir was given. From the Mac Mini it is possible to send a fax. I tried it with different applications at the MBA.
Any ideas what is going wrong here?
    Peter

Yes, I heard about the dropped support for the Apple Fax Modem adapter at Lion, but I send a print job from Lion to a shared internal fax modem at a Mac Mini. I think it is a normal print job with fax supplements at Lion and the remote Leopard has to convert the print job into fax format and calling the efax program with neccessary arguments. At the log at Leopard it looks for me that the Lion printinting dialog indeed ask for fax number, prefix and start banner but never send it to the remote leopard system.
Any ideas how to check this from the shell with more detailed debugging capabilities at Lion?
