Print from imovie to iphoto

Can I make a still print from a frame in imovie? Can a still frame be moved to iphoto?

Yes
In iMovie 08 Help, do a search on "Still Frame" and you can find detailed instructions. Make sure you have upgraded to 7.1. This function did not work in 7.0 without a kludgy workaround.

How do I move photos from imovie to iphoto?

You cannot put photos in a trailer. They are designed for videos.
However, there is a way around this.
Go to the Project Library view. Select your Trailer. Now, click FILE/CONVERT TO PROJECT.
    Now you can add photos.

  • Lines in images when printing from anything but iphoto

When I print on my computer from anything but iphoto the quality is horrible and the print has very noticeable lines in it across everything. I recently did a layout in Adobe Illustrator and when I went to print it on regular 4x6 satin photo paper there are lines everywhere. This also happens when printing from powerpoint, photoshop, word, and whatever else that is not iphoto. I cant send out things that are printed at such horrible quality. Everything comes out fine when i print text in black but photos look pixelated and have lines in them no matter what paper I use if printed from anything but iphoto.
    HELP DR.

Check the printer manual about calibrating. There is a solution in most drivers for inkjet printers which may call like paper forwarding or so. It seems, that your printer forwords the paper a bit to much before the line is printed.

  • How do I import individual frames from iMovie into iPhoto?

How do I import individual frames from iMovie into iPhoto? Or how do I export individual frames from iMovie into iPhoto? My final goal is to have a DVD of individual photos from a video I recently shot. Thanks

Here is one way to do it, although you will see there could be variations.
    1) Open iMovie
    2) Start a new project - name it Stills for iPhoto (or a name of your choice)
    3) Go to your EVENT. Find the spot with the cursor that you want a photo of. Right-click (or control-click if you don't have a mouse) and select ADD STILL FRAME TO PROJECT.
    4) The photo should be in the Project called Stills for iPhoto.
    5) Right-click (control-click) on the photo and select REVEAL IN FINDER.
6)When the finder window opens, right-click and select COPY. Go to your Desktop or a folder of your choice and right-click PASTE
    7) Drag the photo from your Desktop to iPhoto

  • How to copy clips from iMovie to iPhoto

I copied photos from iPhoto and created a project in iMovie - had a senior moment and deleted the photos from iPhoto and would like to copied them FROM iMovie back to iPhoto - cannot find how to do this.
    Help - a Desperate Grandpa

Thanks but nothing happened - I right clicked to REVEAL IN FINDER and nothing happened - realize that the source should have shown but because I deleted it in iPhoto, that's apparently gone. Now there isn't a 'pointer' from iMovie to anywhere.

  • Printing from iPad photos, iPhoto, and camera settings

I am trying to print from my iPad to a photo printer.  I am unable to change the size to a 4x6, therefore the printer will give me an error.  How can I change the photo print size?  I have tried to do through iPhoto and the other apps, but still can not change the size of print.
I did email the print to another computer, but that is not my desired sequence as I would like to take a picture and then print from my iPad to a desired size.
    Thanks,

  • Is there any way of ordering prints from the ipad iPhoto app

I hope there is as it would be a huge omission on apples part especially as we're supposed to be "post PC".

Edited images from the iPhoto app can be saved to the Camera Roll.  Images from Camera Roll, Photo Stream, Synced with iTunes or just imported from a camera card can be ordered via this newly released free app:
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/roes/id533327862?mt=8
I hope this helps a little.  I know it's not in iPhoto but the prints from a true Professional Lab.

  • How can I get photos from imovie into iphoto?

I downloaded the photos onto my desktop and made an imovie with the photos...but at some point I deleted the photos file AND I lost the original photo cd they were on.  The photos are in my imovie file, but I need to somehow get them to iphoto (or somewhere) to burn onto a cd.  This was I can print out just the photos.  ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

What version of iPhoto? Is OS X 10.2.x as you state correct for your OS?

  • Importing stills from iMovie '08 to iPhoto

I am trying to create a photo album. I have extracted still images from video footage of sporting events and put them into an iMovie project file. I want to export these from iMovie to iPhoto (or import them in the reverse direction) but I am unable to do this. iPhoto refuses to open the iMovie project file to allow me to import. I need to be able to extract still photos from video as all of the sporting events have been shot on an HD camcorder and not a still camera. I have even tried publishing the iMovie project to the media browser but I can't get iPhoto to recognize this either. Any suggestions?

Are you using iMovie 7? Control-click on the image and select Add Still Frame to Project. Then Control-click on the still frame and select Show in Finder. You'll be taken to the folder where the still jpg is located and can copy it to the desktop.
TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto (iPhoto.Library for iPhoto 5 and earlier) database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've created an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. It's compatible with iPhoto 6 and 7 libraries and Tiger and Leopard. iPhoto does not have to be closed to run the application, just idle. You can download it at Toad's Cellar. Be sure to read the Read Me pdf file.

  • How do I get CS6 to not distort color when using Lion and printing from Epson R2880?

Ever since I up-graded to CS5 , the color has been distorted.  It is not an Epson Lion problem because printing from preview or iPhoto the color is perfect.
Adobe has known about this problem since January 23, 2012.  Their help people have taken over my computer for hours at a time and not been able to discover the source of the problem
I thought they might have fixed it with CS6 but no luck  I chose use CS4 settings because CS4 had worked.
I printed using Printer Manages Color and color matching, epson color.  I selected the correct media.  The prints came out dark.  The yellows turned green and the greens turned blue/green, reds became dull and blues a bit dark.
This is most upsetting because I cannot afford to buy a new printer and ink.  Also I should not have to buy new equipment because Adobe cannot make their product work correctly.

    cmszinnia wrote:
If the printer prints colors accurately from Lion apps, which it does, then the problem is in Adobe.
Uh...ok...then the REST of the FREE world is going down the tubes because obviously, Adobe has screwed up?
Some of us are using LR4 and CS6 to print and getting accurate and excellent results with Lion (10.7.3) so the question begging for an answer is why can't you?
Read very carefully what Chris wrote...the odds are REAL GOOD you are NOT using the correct settings...but since you don't bother to show or explain the EXACT settings you are using when printing, we'll never know. Will we?
If the vast magority of the user base is NOT having an issue, to what do you attribute the disconnect? User Error is the single most likely result...
You want help? Or do you want to argue?
I know a little bit about printing and I seem to be able to print with zero issues on a wide variety of Epson printers...you wanna place blame or do you wanna learn how to fix the problem? (clue, the odds are it isn't Adobe nor Epson leading to the problems, it's you bud).

  • Bland photos printed from Aperure 3 but jpegs OK from Preview ?????

    HI
Probably a common question but I have already wasted half a day websurfing, and reading books to find an answer with no luck so here is my situation ..
I am an amateur and don't need accurate colour reproduction juts the ability the print what I see on the screen.  I never had any problem printing faithfully rendered prints from iPhoto on a simple HP C4280 Photosmart printer using Kodak paper of various grades (mostly Ultima Glossy).
Now using Aperture 3, but the prints (EOS, Adobe 1998, RAW files) are lifeless (low contrast and low brightness I think).  However, I can export the same file as a full size jpeg and print from Preview (using Colorsync not Vendor in print setup) without any difficulties with no tweaking at the printing stage. Both the Preview image and the AP3 image look identicle on the screen which I have "calibrated" using the OSX utlility.
In Aperture 3 I see no way to select Colorsync to handle the color matching.  In the AP3 Print menu under Rendering/Color Profile I have no idea what to select as an alternative to Printer Managed (the list is gobbledegook to me and I seen nothing matching either the printer or the paper).  This is the only difference I can see between the process of printing from AP3 and iPhoto which maybe causing the problem (thought: maybe all that is needed is to alter the image at the processing stage, but would prefer to get the fundamental print settings correct first).
PS  I spent a couple of hours this afternoon at my local Kodak, HP, and Fuji print centers and printed out a collage of selected images at each to see which product I preferred for my long term printing needs (any idea what printers these people use for A4 and less?).  Aside from some difference in the image adjustment required in each stores, the prints were all very nice.  I started this exercise because printing from my printer is very costly as the cartridges don't last long (an inkjet technology print head cleaning issue no doubt).  Anyway, was bouyed up by my shop print quality and thought I'd compare them to one from my the HP Photosmart.  Had not printed from AP3 prior to this.
PPS  In Library/Printers/HP?Profiles their is nothing for this model printer.

  • How to show iMovies in iPhoto (for iTunes to access for AppleTv and mobile)

I have read a few posts on this but cannot find a definitive answer...
If you import movies into iPhoto, iMovies can access them. But if you import into iMovies, it seems iPhoto cannot access them, which means iTunes cannot access them to stream to AppleTV or sync with my iPhone and iPad, as iTunes does not see iMovies.
Because I have a DV Camcorder I have to import my home movies to iMovie which gives me this above problem in that I cannot see them in iPhoto/iTunes/AppleTv.
So am I right in thinking the best way to have all applications see my movies is to export them from iMovie into iPhoto as follows:-
    1) Rip to iMovies from the Camcorder
    2) Find the files in Finder
    3) Import into iPhoto
    4) Delete the originals from iMovie
Then I should be able to see the newly imported files in iPhoto in iMovie AND iTunes??
I cant find or think of an alternate solution.
    Thanks

I've decided to give the following a go...
Basically I originally wanted to use iPhoto for movies and photos so I have them all in one place and because I think Albums, Smartfolders etc. are great. Movies go hand in had with photos of the same event. But I also wanted them in iTunes to sync. with iPad, iPhone and play via Apple TV.
The file sizes from camcorder videos got me thinking I don't really want the massive files in iPhoto/iTunes/AppleTV etc. So have now decided to use iMovie as the library for the original large files, from which I can edit and make some compilations etc. then export those new movies of lower filesize (mp4?) into iPhoto for use with iTunes, Apple TV, iPhone and iPad.
I decided that when I finish importing I may look at putting the iMovie library with original DVs onto an external drive (due to filesize, if this is possible). So when I want to use iMovie to import and edit and make movies I will plug in the external hard drive where they all are, do my stuff, then can unplug and put away. That way I do not need to delete the originals due to filesize (I did not want to have to re-import from the camcorder again in future so do want them stored somewhere).
It also means I dont have every single video I shot in iPhoto, iTunes etc., not all of them are good.
Then my main computer with the iPhoto library has all my created and edited and new format movies to store for use with iTunes, Apple TV etc.
So I think this sounds like a good plan for me.
iMovie -> Original movie library manager (external drive due to filesize)
iPhoto -> Photos and edited movies library manager (Mac drive for AirPlay and mobile sync)

  • When I try to print a drawing imported from my ipad iphoto crops it. Is there any way to stop this?

When I try to print a drawing imported from my ipad iphoto crops it. Is there any way to stop this?

Usual cause: printing at the wrong aspect ratio for the image - trying to print 5 x 3 in the shape of a 6 x 4 for instance.

  • Unable to print from iPhoto without preview.

Hi everyone, new to this, so please bear with me. Old Toad can you help me please, I love my Mac OS X, and am reasonably savvy, but suddenly iPhoto will not print from the File Menu without going in to Preview? In Preview, you have to click again on File and Print, and not print from the button on the bottom of the Preview Screen. I have had my Mac for one year, and learning all the time, but she has not always done this, please tell me what to do in laypersons language, many thanks for any help.
    Jane S.

    Jane:
Welcome to the Apple Discussions. Just select the thumbnail and type Command-P. That will open the print window and you can go from there. OR, double click on a thumbnail to bring up the Edit mode and then use the File->Print menu. Apple moved the Print option to the Edit mode. That has confused a lot of us at first.

  • Unable to print from iPhoto after upgrading to Yosemite?

Whenever I want to print from iPhoto, the application on the IMac becomes unresponsive and will not print. This all started after upgrading to Yosemite. My printer is updated, so now I have no idea how to make this work again. Any help would be great.

    DA2014 wrote:
Rebuilt iPhoto, it is updated, but still is unresponsive. I get the spinning wheel that never goes away until I force close the app. The printer works on other applications.
OK and I see the issue is only with iPhoto. The only thing I can think of is resetting the printing system and then re-installing the printer(s). DO NOT use any of the printer's software for installing, simply follow the directions for adding a printer in Mac Basics: Printing in OS X - Apple Support.
To reset the printing system, open System Preferences - Printers & Scanners - locate the device in the window on the left and right click the offending printer and select Reset Printing System....
After you have reset the printing system and re-added the device then shutdown (not restart) the computer for about 30 seconds and restart and then test.
