Print from iPhone or iPad

I have my HP printer connected to my Airport Extreme on the network.
I can print from my computer o.k.  I can not print from my iPhone or iPad,
Does the printer have to be an air printer in order for me to be able to print from the
iPad or iPhone.

Yes, in order to print directly from an iPhone or iPad, you need to have an AirPrint compatible printer.
You can check on your printer by using this Apple support document:
http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If your printer is not AirPrint compatible, you might still be able to print by downloading and installing an App like Printopia to your Mac.  There is a free trial, so you will know in a few minutes whether this might work for you.

  • Printing from iPhone or iPad no problem but cannot get pc to print

Have just bought an instant ink compatible Envy 4502 and have set everything up according to instruction.
iPhone and iPad work fine and can send printing to the printer no problem - why can I not print from my pc - surely you'd think this would be the easiest of the functions to get right??
I can click on send to printer but there remains 0 docs in the queue pending??

    Hi MarcusPos,
I see that the ENVY 4502 will not print from your computer, but it will print fine from an iPhone and iPad. What is the Operating System installed on the computer, Windows or Mac?
Also, what is it you are trying to print, an eMail, a picture, etc?
Have you installed the full feature software and drivers that came with the printer on the computer?
This is not directed to the same issue, but it does troubleshoot the queue for both Operating Systems: Print Jobs are Stuck in the Print Queue.
    Cheers,

  • Printing wirelessly from laptop but can't print from iPhone or iPad to officejet 6700

On the Officejet 6700 I have it set up to print wirelessly from my laptop, but it does not print from the iPhone or iPad.  It locates the officejet and says it's preparing to print and even appears that it is going to print, but nothing prints.  Thoughts?

Hi there, take a look at this support docuemnt for the AirPrint solution for printing from Apple mobile devices. In particular read the sections titled "What if a 'No AirPrint Printers Found' message displays on my Apple device?" and "What if I experience problems when I try and use AirPrint?"
Follow the suggested trouble shooting steps in the order listed and post back if you're still having problems.

  • Printing from iPhone and iPad

I have just purchased an iPad and an iPhone. I gather that I need to download an app to be able to print from them but I have no idea which app is the right one. My printer is an hp color laserjet 5550dtn.
Could someone please explain to me what app I need and what I need to do?
    Thanks for your help.

    Hi,
Firstly please check to see if your printer in the list:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4356
If YES, you can use the following links to fix
    iPad: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/assistant/airprint/
    iPhone: http://www.apple.com/support/iphone/assistant/airprint/
If NO you have to print using other apps (if applicable) such as:

    Hello @morrislane,
    Welcome to the HP Forums!
I understand you would like to print from your Apple devices using a personal Hotspot. I will do my best to assist you! I would recommend following this entire HP document on Printing from Your Apple Device with Non-Web-Enabled Printers (No Apple AirPrint or HP ePrint Suppor...
Just to let you know, printing from a Hotspot is not a solid connection. HP printers prefer connecting to a router, so it has a solid connection. Please let me know if you have any further questions. Have a great night!

  • Can no longer print from iphone or ipad?

Recently, Early Feb 20012, I lost ability to print from I phone or I pad.  I cloud no longer asks for my password? What happened.  Both devices lost airprint ability at same time.  I have an air print capable printer (Officejet pro 8500A)  and had no trouble previouly.

Have you tried turning off your router then back on (unplug it, wait a short time, replug)?  And likewise your devices and printer?

you still need a Pc or Mac connected via usb to the printer.

obiously the Mac/Pc and iPhone /iPad should be on the same wifi network

  • Wireless Printing from iPhone and iPad to HP D110

I can print to my HPD110 (wirelessly) at home but when I am not near to house router and have to use a hotspot it will not print to the D110.
Is there an App I need?

    Hi,
You can buy a printer which has an email address and you can send files (supported formats) to it email address to print. There are many ePrint printers from around $60 to few hundred. Just go to a store and have a look. The new Envy series (4500, 5530) printers are also cheap too.

  • Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ?

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

  • Printing from iphone/ipad does not work after ios5 upgrade

have a Brother HL-2140 that would print and show up as the "printer" when printing from an iPhone/iPad thru an Airport Extreme. Everything worked fine till upgrading to ios5 ... now the option for printing is replaced with an "no airprint printer found" ... meanwhile I can still print through the network wirelessly through multiple MacBook Pros and MacBooks around the house. I have re-installed the driver from the Bother website ... I have the Printer Sharing on ... the network allows wireless printing from laptops ... just NOT from iPhones and iPads.

Today's iOS 6.1 update fixed the printer problem.

  • How to print from iphone to hp color laserjet CM1017 MFP printer

How to print from iphone to hp color laserjet CM1017 MFP printer

In order to AirPrint from your iPad/iPhone, here's all you need to do:
    1. Make sure the printer and iPad/iPhone are connected to the same local network.
    2. Open something you want to print (on the iPad/iPhone).
    3. On the iPad/iPhone, tap the "Action" button (arrow curving out of a box).
    4. Tap "Print".
If you have any issues with printing, below are some steps that should help you out!
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Completely power off the iOS devices (hold the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until a message appears asking you to "Slide to power off". Slide across that bar, and it should completely power off).
    3. Power the printer back on.
    4. Power the iOS devices back on.
    5. Try to print again.
Those steps usually resolve the issue. If they do not, try this additional steps:
    6. Power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the router’s power cord, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in).
    7. Make sure that the iOS devices and the printer are all connected to the same network, then try to print.
