Print from iphones on Officejet 8600 too large

a problem has suddenly popped up on our Officejet Pro 8600;  when printing to the printer over the wireless network with our iphones or ipads, the output is extremely large. we have tried resetting the printer, resetting each phone and ipad.  the output is normal with the Mac computer connected directly to the modem.
can anyone help us solve this problem?

Hello @Christian-MD,
Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that when you print from your iOS devices the item comes out larger then it should.
I would like to help.
Have you recently updated the devices?
The Airprint in the iOS devices is a bit different then on the Mac.
Also the Mac device has the option for software.
For a bit more control with print jobs sent from my iPad, I use the HP ePrint app.

  • Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ?

Full page prints from iPhone but not from iPad using photo app with AirPrint ? iPad only prints 4x6 on full size paper. It's an HP 8600.

I also have this problem printing photos from an iPad to an Epson WF-2540 printer. It prints only 4x6 and without border (so print starts at extreme top left corner of paper). Borderless printing is not selected on printer. Printing a square photo just crops to 4x6 size.

How to print from iphone to hp color laserjet CM1017 MFP printer

In order to AirPrint from your iPad/iPhone, here's all you need to do:
    1. Make sure the printer and iPad/iPhone are connected to the same local network.
    2. Open something you want to print (on the iPad/iPhone).
    3. On the iPad/iPhone, tap the "Action" button (arrow curving out of a box).
    4. Tap "Print".
If you have any issues with printing, below are some steps that should help you out!
    1. Power off the printer.
    2. Completely power off the iOS devices (hold the Sleep and Home buttons simultaneously until a message appears asking you to "Slide to power off". Slide across that bar, and it should completely power off).
    3. Power the printer back on.
    4. Power the iOS devices back on.
    5. Try to print again.
Those steps usually resolve the issue. If they do not, try this additional steps:
    6. Power cycle your router (usually done by unplugging the router’s power cord, waiting 20 seconds, and plugging it back in).
    7. Make sure that the iOS devices and the printer are all connected to the same network, then try to print.
If I have SOLVED your issue, please feel free to provide KUDOS and make sure you mark this thread as SOLUTION PROVIDED!

  • Need to print from iPhone?

I have a t.c. Prints fine with Mac but iPhone or iPad does not see the air port that's part of the t.c. Which really upsets me. Which product do I need to print from iPhone.

If you want to be able to print from the iPhone or iPad, you will need to check to see if you have an AirPrint compatible printer. This Apple support document has all the details:
    iOS: AirPrint 101
If you do not have an AirPrint compatible printer, you might still be able to print from the iPhone and iPad by using a special application like Printopia, which is installed on your Mac.  Your Mac must be running to allow the iPad or iPhone to be able to print.
There is a free trial for Printopia, so if you want to give it a try, you will know in a few minutes whether it will work for you.

Yes, in order to print directly from an iPhone or iPad, you need to have an AirPrint compatible printer.
You can check on your printer by using this Apple support document:
