Print head alignment with Magenta Cartridge only

We have recently replaced the magenta cartridge in our CP2025, the old unit was genuine HP as is the new one. For whatever reason the printer is now printing out of alignment, we have taken the cartridge out and put back in, done numerous resets, calibrations and setting changes, all to no avail. We have tried using various PC's running W7, W8.1 and W10 still the problem appears. Is there anything else we should try? It is only the magenta cartridge that is the issue, the others print as they should.

I only use OEM, new, HP ink cartridges.  The ink cartridges (both 21 and 22) are new and full.  The link you provided is to the standard instructions, which I followed, and which say simply "perform the align cartridges" routine.  But as I explained, that routine starts and then locks up.  Every time.  The routine gets as far as printing the page alignment arrows when the lockup occurs (starts fast flashing on the front panel green LED).   I have had this printer for several years, and have performed the align cartridges routine many times without difficulty.  Have always used HP OEM cartridges, never any non-OEM refills.  Then this lock up problem started.  Don't recall if it was associated with one of the HP printer driver updates I get (and install) from time to time. Printer will also lock up if asked to print a test page.  But printer works when I send files to it, and the print quality looks good, so the alignment of the cartridges must be pretty close.  But it would be nice to be able to perform the alignment,  just to be sure.

  • Cartridge print head alignment routine lock up

Printer locks up on cartridge alignment after starting to printi the alignment page.  Gets as far as the page-edge alighment arrows and then locks up.  Every time.  Green LED on printer starts flashing fast green when this happens.  Have to unplug printer to clear.  Similar result if request test page print.  But printer is printing fine when I send it a document!  It's just that I can no longer do the "align printheads" routine.  Have re-installed printer driver.  Also installed a "patch" that was on the HP web site.  Help, please.  Surprisingly, the print quality looks good, even without the print head alignment, but I would like to align my cartridges.

  • Print head alignment keeps on getting worse and worse the more I try to "fix" it

First off, I know that this question doesn't really belong in the mbp section, but since I am printing from one, I thought this would be the closest match.
I have an Epson NX420 printer which came with my 2011 mbp 13in for free (err... $100 off the original $95ish to be exact). It will turn 3 years old in less than a month.
This past week, I have had troubles printing "good" images, so I did the print head alignment on Epson Printer Utility 4, following the written directions. I printed something out, and it was still disgustingly off, so I repeated the process two more times, each time printing something different. The vertical alignment is fine, but the horizontal alignment seems to get worse and worse. One thin line will be split into two in some places, and one will be dotted while the other solid, and in the case of color, the two bands are different colors. Solids come out grainy.
I don't want to waste any more paper and expensive ink for something that is not fixing itself. Since my mbp is still under Applecare warrenty, will Apple fix or trade my current printer for another one for free, or does Apple have nothing to do with printers other than its sale? If not, are there alternative ways to fix this problem? I am sure I am choosing the box without any bands at all and if there is I choose the lightest band-in-a-box and click realignment.
Here is the recent printout of random lines and text, after three unsuccesful trials of print head alignment.

This is a printer issue and it's only covered under the Epson Warranty Program, which is 1 year.  AppleCare has nothing to do with that.
You'll probably have to replace the printer if the print heads cannot be replaced.  That's the issue when you buy an inkjet that has print heads that aren't part of the ink cartriges... when they go bad, they go bad and you're hosed.  If the issue persists after a print cartridge change, then it's definitely the heads.

  • Can I print with black cartridge only if colour cartidges are empty on HP C1600 seeries printer?

Can I print using the black cartridge only whilst the colour cartridges are empty? I have a HP Photosmart C1600 series printer and Vista installed on my PC. I have set the Printer preferences to  "Grayscale and use Black Cartridge only" but the printer itself is telling me it wont print unless i replace my empty yellow cartridge. I bought a brand new Black cartridge so i could print using black ink only as i dont need to use colour.

    Hi,
Many printers from all vendors will not print with just one empty ink cartidge, it doesn't matter which one. Some printers allow users to print but at slower than snail speed. Whichever way, we have to have ink carridges to be able to print (even scan).

  • Printing with Black Cartridge Only option grayed out: Officejet 6000

Trying to print a black and white photo in gray scale using only the black ink cartridge, unfortunately that option is grayed out. Is there some setting that has to be chosen first before black cartridge only option becomes available?
I feel like I've tried just about every combination, but maybe I'm missing some minuscule, unintuitive step.
    Thanks

Nope, its not a bug.  When you choose borderless the print region actually becomes bigger than the page to make sure there are no white gaps.  The ink that does not make it to the page is caught in a trough filled with foam just below the print zone.
The color ink is a dye ink (like food coloring).  The black ink is a pigment ink - like carbon dust suspended in water.  When it is over-sprayed in the trough it piles up until the pile of pigment starts dragging and smearing on the back of every subsequent page!  Not good, so we do not allow the black cartridge to print when set to borderless.

  • Printing with black cartridge only

I'm going to buy HP ENVY 120 all-in-one printer. I will not need the color printing much. Can I use black and white cartridge only without installing color cartriges at all or with empty one or more color cartridges? I just want to save some money on color cartridges. Thanks. Victor.

    Hey @VIC-GEISH ,
Thank you for taking the time to post on the HP Forums today! Hope you enjoy the experience.
So there are a few things that I have to let you know. No printer, HP or not can print only black that is an InkJet. The reason for this is because many people would print only black with their multi-colour printers and the ink wells for the coloured cartridges would dry out and never be usable. So whether you select black only or greyscale you are still going to be printing some colour in those printouts so that the printer will be able to print colour when you need it to.
If using ONLY black was what you were trying to get the instructions for, unfortunately that is not possible. If you want to print ONLY black i recommend looking into laser black only printers that are multi-function, black only printers. They don't use ink they using toner power cartridges that last a very long time but are more expensive. We have those options in our HP LaserJet line.
Hope this helps! Have a great day!

  • MG2100 Printer Head Alignment not working for color ink?

    Hi,
I have a Canon MG2100, and I just changed the color ink. When I print something in color I get magenta lines through the image. I realized I had to align the heads and have been trying to do both the automatic and manual methods of aligning the printer heads. I click color every time, but when the printer prints the sheet I'm supposed to scan or input values, there are no color values printed, only the black and white? I assume it needs the color values since the manual has them... What am I doing wrong?
    Here's a picture:

    Hi bgill93.
First, please make sure that the ink installed in the printer is the correct ink.  The correct ink cartridges are the PG-240 black and the CL-241 color.
Next, a test page should be printed.  The nozzle check pattern shows if each print head nozzle is operating properly.
     1.  Ensure that the printer is powered on and the LED displays a 1.
     2.  Open the paper output tray.
     3.  Load a sheet Letter-sized plain paper in the Auto Sheet Feeder.
     4.  Press the <Maintenance> button to display [A].  The Maintenance button is the button on the Operator's panel which has the wrench and screwdriver label above it.
     5.  Press the Black Start button. The machine will print a nozzle check pattern.  Please compare the test page that you printed with the one at the bottom of this post.
If the test page does not match the example attached to this email, printhead cleanings should be performed.  To do this, please follow these steps:
     1.  Ensure that the printer is powered on and the LED displays a 1.
     2.  Press the <Maintenance> button once to display [H].
     3.  Press the Black Start button. The cleaning will commence.
After performing a few cleanings, please print another test page.
If you continue to have difficulties, it is recommended that the ink cartridges are replaced.

  • HP OfficeJet 6310 All-In-One printer won't print in color with new cartridge

HP OfficeJet 6310 All-In-One printer  on a iMAC  OSX version 10.9.5 system
    Hello,
As I don't print in color much but had need to I discovered my printer not printing in color.  I trouble shooted and even replaced with an new HP95 new from Office Depot ( I never buy refilled).  The printer still won't print color but it advances the paper as if it was printing - just no ink on paper.  I have cleaned thoroughly the ink jet heads, cartridge area, and run all the alignment and printer utilities.    The test page print does not show color either.   I have no error messages.  Don't know what else to do.
    thanks

    Hi there @dhengr!
Thanks for contacting the HP Forums!
I can see your having a print quality issue with your HP OfficeJet 6310.  I should be able to provide documentation that will help locate a resolution.  You mentioned you have already tried another  HP95 tri-color cartridge with no resolution.  I also noticed you said that the quality report from the printer also has no color ink.
If a stand alone test report is performed from the front of the printer such a printhead cleaning or print quality report and there is no color on the page then you are likely looking at a hardware issue within the printer.  I have provided a document regarding Missing, Faded, or Dull Colors on the HP Officejet 6310 All-in-One Printer.  If you follow the document from start to finish and still have the same issue then I would recommend contacting our HP tech support via phone.  They deal with hardware warranty and replacement options.

  • HP 6450- Stripes with photo cartridge only

When using the #99 photo cartridge I get a stripe pattern in the light color areas. When I perform align cartridges I see some stripes in the light colors in the bottom-right patterns (yellow, light blue, pink) but not in the darker colors. I have cleaned cartridges several times and put a new one in all the with same results. When I put the black cartridge in place of the photo #99 the prints look good with no stripes. I get the same results with photo paper and regular letter paper with the  proper settings in the preferences.
    Thanks for your help.
    Vista 64, latest drivers

    Hi,
You may use the color ink only by removing the low black cartridge.
You may find the steps below from its user guide as a reference:
    Use single-cartridge mode
Use the single-cartridge mode to operate the HP ENVY 4500 series with only one ink cartridge. The
single-cartridge mode is initiated when an ink cartridge is removed from the ink cartridge carriage.
NOTE: When the HP ENVY 4500 series operates in single-cartridge mode, a message is displayed
    on the printer display.

  • HP Photosmart D7260 Print Head Alignment Failure

We had a paper jam on this printer and it took some doing to get all the pieces out.  Afterward, we could not get the printer to print black ink.  We did a printer alignment a few times and each time the alignment failed.  The black ink cartridge is fairly new and we use normal, Lb bond white paper in the printer.
Documentation does not lead us to a solution other than continuing to try align the print head.
Thanks in advance for your advice.

  • No print before change of magenta cartridge

Has for a long periode without use , had problems with not being able to print. Automatic notification; Change following ink cartridge to cintinue printing HP 940 Magenta.
Then swiched to a new magenta cartridge, stille the same message. Downloaded driver s from HP website, opdated support software etc. It should be mentioned that somethime by interrupting the printer and start up again can be printed, but next time I start up my computer, it`s the same problem.
I have sougth support on the  web by HP, but without any success.
I have learned that I am not alone with this problem and pending a perception on the net that is pre-programmed an error in the hardware such that after a given period time or number of printouts triggered a bug that prvent use og the hardware. Some have loose this problem by bouing a chip og code online as passivated error on the printer. Such triels cost about 100 usd. on the web.
I am frustrated to waste a lots of time in mu home office and before i make decisions to buy some other hardware as to maintain by company printer needs, I hope I van get usefull support in this media.

Unfortunately there is no numeric codes, just a message, that the magenta cartridge is empty and must be replaced. I did replace the cartridge as usual, but still I cant print even I change to mode "only print in black". I was lucky once when I turned the printer off for a short while and then
may print a page. Then I got the same message. I can not even print the test page.
When I first bought the printer (in Denmark) I got a chat with HP support which gave me a very thorough good help installerere properly. Do you know if I can get telephone contact HP Support in Denmark for help.?

I have taken SAP Standard Program 'GFW_PROG_CHART_TABLE' to print Graphics on my screen. I have alse created my Header for the Screen. is it possibe to take a print of my screen with the header also with Graphics.
How can i do that ?

By "print of my screen" do you mean screen shot or actually printed to paper?
Printed to Paper you can try the "Hard Copy" option in your SAP Gui top menu help I believe, it's near the end of the top far right side.
Screen shot you can just use your "Print Screen" button the keyboard then open up a graphics program and hit paste.
