Print ICAL from MAC?

The good news ICAL now shows up on my MAC ---year, after years!!
BAD news  won't print (Safari) BOOO

Safari is bad at printing - it is a complex webpage after all and Apple have not setup the print styling correctly for the page, you can continue to fight the issue or look at alternatives to achieve your aim.
Post a bug report to http://apple.com/feedback/ but then you have to wait & hope Apple fix it, who knows when or if that will ever happen.
Do you have these calendars setup in the Mac Calendars application? You must be 'subscribed' to these calendars in iCloud if they are from other users - simply subscribe to them in the Mac calendars application too.
Calendar: Subscribe to calendars
Here is an example from the print preview in Calendars on 10.9 (I don't have many events next xmas)…
The PDF output is great and that would also print well. It has, list, week & day views too.

So I printed it, BOOO HOOO.  The other option is to download some other file format, not sure if I want to do that since I don't want to risk messing up the other 4 calendars, excluding mine.
The answer to your 'tears' is out there already - Calendars app prints really well. Sorry if you don't want to hear it, but I don't like watching others 'cry' over issues that are easily solved via a little thinking around the problem.

  • All in One Printer C5180 stopped printing/scanning from mac 10.6.8

    Hi
My All-in-One C5180 has stopped printing and scanning from mac 10.6.8. It had worked for the past few years but after not using it for 8 months (out of country) it hasn't worked since I came back. I have done as a few suggested, carried out a software update on mac and also downloaded a new driver from this site. Neither worked. The message appearing is " printer off-line" and the printer symbol has red exclamation mark.
    Would really appreciate any help.
    Thanks in advance
    Anne

Correction to initial post: The 6 tiny sections incorrectly printed on a single sheet are actually from the bottom right-hand quadrant of the original PDF page - NOT the upper right-hand quadrant.

  • HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m prints wirelessly from Mac & Vaio, but not Dell...

We bought an HP Photosmart Premium C309g-m about a month ago. It will print from my (old) Mac Book Pro and from hubby's new Sony Vaio, via cable, via bluetooth, and via wireless. We want to add a Dell laptop, and have installed the latest printer software from the HP website.
When we go to "add a device" on the Dell, the process goes through "Checking network configuration"  and FINDS the printer (we have it set to automatic IP). We select the printer and click Next, the software says installing device and runs netowrk diagnostics without a problem.... and then we get an error at the installing device screen that says "Printer Setup has failed to complete, click Retry to Try again or Next to continue without connecting the printer."
Very  frustrated! Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help. I thought maybe it was a port issue, but we turned the firewall OFF, and no dice.

You could download and run this very handy utility.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

  • Printing via a Print Sever from MAC OSX 10.5.2

    Hello all,
I recently purchased a powerbook, (i'm loving it!), and have got a D-Link wired print server that is connected into my network, (DP-301U).
I have a pc with xp pro and a laptop with Vista on -both of which i can print successfully from via the print server.
Regards the mac, no such luck and I'm at my wits end with this now!!! -the instructions that cam with the print server are confusing and of no help, and I've yet to find any conclusive answer on the internet.
When adding the printer in all the various ways I tried, the printer either says "printing" and nothing happens or it comes back with a "Communication Error", or when I try use the Generic Mac driver reams and reams of garbled writing are spewed forth from my printer!!!-arrgh!!
Can someone please provide the guidance I need to get printing from my MAC?, it's probably someone really silly that I'm missing?
    Thanks and regards.

I still have a problem with the new Imac. I did the same installs and chose the foomatic printer from the list but still do not see the two sided option and the printer freezes during the spooling with say, 21% completed. Sometimes it is 21% other times 55%, but no printing begins. What might cause the spooling process to stop cold? Any ideas?
This sounds like a communications issue between the print server and the iMac. It would appear from your first post that you are using the LPD protocol to communicate with the print server.
    Items to check:
    1. If used the same printer queue when you installed the new drivers, you should quit open applications and restart them. The applications will not pick up the new driver until they are restarted.
    2. Double check all the configuration settings on the new iMac. Make sure they match the printer settings that you use on the other Macs. Are the printer address and queue name the same?
    3. Look at the Firewall settings. Open the Security preference pane in System Preferences. Click the Firewall tab. The radio button for "Allow all incoming connections" (not recommended) or "Set access for specific services and applications" (recommended) must be selected. If the radio button for "Allow only essential services" is selected, outgoing signals to the print server are being blocked.

  • Network Printer Problem from Mac to Windows

Hi all, hoping someone can help. I have a Canon MF4350d printer which is shared on a windows machine. I can access the windows machine, I have installed the latest drive for this printer onto my mac, from the canon website and when i go to print I get the following:
    Canon UFR ll Printer Driver
    An error occurred.: -50
Then the printer icon starts jumping and when i click on that I see the following under status:
    On Hold(Authentication required)
I have yet to print from this macbook to a networked printer. Very disappointing.
Anyone have this issue? Anyone know of a working fix? Thanks Guys.

If you search within this forum (search block, upper right), you will see that PAHU has answered this several times. For example, search for "UFRII windows."
Printing on OS X isn't quite as simple as on Windows - quite often, manufacturers provide drivers that are limited to the comm protocol "they want you to use," and Windows Printing (SMB) is usually not one of those. In fact, most USB printers get USB-only drivers.

  • Cannot Sync iCal from .Mac

Whenever I try to sync iCal, a error message appears saying that iCal cannot sync due to inconsistent data, to reset data in iCal and then sync.
I have tried resetting the data on iCal, but it doesn't reset. I erased all the info, but I still cannot make iCal to sync date from .Mac.
    Any idea?
    Thanks!

  • Can you transfer your ICal from Mac Pro to your IPhone

I am just curious if you can transfer your ICal from a Mac Pro Book to you IPhone before I get my IPhone.

iCal is supported on a Mac when you sync contact info to your phone.
    Info Pane
The Info pane lets you configure the sync settings for your contacts, calendars, email accounts, and web browser.
                                        Contacts
Sync contacts with applications such as Mac OS X Address Book, Yahoo! Address Book, and Google Contacts on a Mac, or with Yahoo! Address Book, Google Contacts, Windows Address Book (Outlook Express), Windows Contacts (Vista and Windows 7), or Microsoft Outlook 2003, 2007, or 2010 on a PC. (On a Mac, you can sync contacts with multiple applications. On a PC, you can sync contacts with one application at a time.)
If you sync with Yahoo! Address Book, you only need to click Configure to enter your new login information when you change your Yahoo! ID or password after you’ve set up syncing.

  • HT1338 How to reinstall iCal from Mac OS X disc?

I have an iMac OS X 10.6.8.  iCal has become corrupted.  I have run Optional Installs.mpkg  from the Mac OS X disc.  This is supposed to allow re-installation of selected bundled applications but iCal and all the other applications (Mail, Address Book, iTunes etc) are "greyed" out and can't be selected for reinstallation.   Does anyone know why this might be or what to do about it?
    Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. I unpacked iCal from the CD using Pacifist. However the iCal application still does not work. I get an error message saying the iCal version 3.0.8 does not run with the current version of the operating system (OS X 10.6.8).  I have also tried reinstalling a copy of iCal (version 4.0.4) from a Timemachine backup made a month or so ago - but same problem it won't run and the error message says its the wrong version for my operating system.  Worse still iMail has stopped working as well and offers up a similar error message (iMail version doesn't work with this version of the OS).  This is baffling because the entire operating system and bundled applications were re-installed in January this year by a Mac dealer when the hard drive was replaced.  The Timemachine backup was done in May when everything worked so it is hard to understand why restoring the same version of iCal does not work now.
Seems Macs are great when they work but impenetrable for the average user when things get out of sync.

  • Printing pdf from mac, works once then printer offline?

I print wirelessly to a Brother HL-2270DW from a macbook pro running OSX 10.9.2 When printing from pages, numbers, email etc it works properly but when I print a PDF using adobe reader 11.0.07 it works once and then I can't print again, printer status is changed to offline.  I contacted Brother first and this was their reply...
Thank you for taking the time to write to us about your HL2270DW. We will look into PDF issue for you.
Since you have stated that the model is able to print fine from other applications, but is unable to print from PDF, the issue is isolated to ADOBE.
The issue is not related to the model or the drivers because the issue would occur all the time with all programs.
We recommend contacting ADOBE for further support.
If after reviewing the information you have further inquiries about the PDF issue, please reply and we will be happy assist you.
Does anyone have a fix for this?

    Hi chocolatebabz,
Thank you for posting on the Adobe forums, kindly try printing as an image. Try the steps mentioned below.
    1) Open the file>Print>Advanced
    2) Check the box>print as an image.
    Thanks,

  • HT3952 Printing Labels from Mac (Maverick) Contacts list

I have successfully printed a sheet of 21 labels (Avery 7160).  I created a new group in Mac (Maverick) Contacts List and typed each address individually for this mailshot.  It worked without problem.
Now I have opened another new group and typed in an identical address for each label.  When I try to print out the sheet of labels, it will only print one label.  It even does this when I add some text to each label as to avoid them  being identical.  Can you help please?

  • Sync to pull iCal from Mac to iCal on iPhone

On my Mac, I run Mac OS X Lion 10.7.5, and just started entering events on iCal.
On my iPhone 4, I just added the iCal app.
I then followed these instructions for syncing.
    Syncing Your Calendar Via ITunes
    Step 1
Launch iTunes on your computer and connect your iPhone using its USB cable.
    Step 2
Select the iPhone from the "Devices" list in iTunes and open the "Info" tab.
    Step 3
Select "iCal" in the "Sync Calendars With" section and click the "Sync" button. Your iPhone's Calendar syncs with iCal on your Mac.
My iPhone iCal shows old *Google* calendar entries. How can I change/sync sync, pulling existing Mac *iCal* entries to my iPhone iCal app?
    Tips
Check the "Sync With This iPhone Over Wi-Fi" box in the iTunes "Summary" tab to allow your iPhone to sync with your Mac whenever it is connected to a power outlet and the same Wi-Fi network as your computer.
Now I see events on my iPhone iCal that were pulled from a Google calendar that I no longer want to use.
    1) How can I change settings/sync to pull the existing iCal events on my Mac and transfer them to my iPhone iCal app?
    2) What is the hierarchy? Meaning, when I sync, is the Mac iCal or iPhone iCal considered to be the "accurate" version? Or, during the sync, will it look for the version with the most recent (new or edited) event, then update the other iCal making both current?
In advance, thank you for assistance!

Have him try putting the checkmark back in front of "Sync Photos From" on the Photos page of iTunes and change the selection of photos to be synced so that only one or two new photos is selected (and none of the existing ones) and then sync. If that removes the existing ones, then remove the checkmark and sync again.
Sync instructions in the following link if needed: iTunes: Syncing photos

  • Accessing iCal from .mac account

I've been able to publish my iCal without trouble, but I'm wondering if I can access and edit my calendar from a different (and PC) computer, while in my .mac account? Or, am I only able to edit it while in the iCal application?
Also, am I able to view my calendar from my .mac page, without publishing it for the public? I'd like to look at it from work... but don't need/want my friends viewing it!

See this thread: Amy Vandawalker, "ical and multiple computers", 03:31pm Aug 29, 2005 CDT
The short answer is no; you can't edit iCal calendars from a PC. You need a .Mac account and Macs to edit.
Seems like everyone has the same problem.
As far as private publishing, .Mac is not private as far as publishing Calendars go (though someone would have to know or guess you .mac name and calendar name to get to it).
Alternatively you can use iCalX: http://www.icalx.com/
    It apparently has password protection.

  • Syncing iCal from Mac OS X 10.6.8 to iPhone 5S

I have a Macbook Pro and a iPhone 5S, I'm just attempting to figure out how to make it recognize that I have an iCloud Account but not a MobileMe account (which I know are the same thing) but I'm attempting to sync my calenders and it won't let me, I don't want to have to recreate all my calenders in the iCloud, please help!

Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6.x) and earlier systems are not compatible with iCloud: Lion 10.7.5 is the minimum requirement, Mountain Lion recommended.
You cannot create an iCloud account on Snow Leopard or earlier. If you have opened an iCloud account on a Lion/Mountain Lion Mac or an iOS5/6 device this will be the situation on Snow Leopard:
You will be able to access email and calendars on the iCloud website at http://icloud.com provided your browser is reasonably up-to-date.
You will not be able to sync contacts or bookmarks from a pre-Lion Mac.
You will be able to enter the server settings for email manually in the Mail application and access your email. A pictorial instruction page on doing this is here (for Snow Leopard, or here for Tiger).
You will not be able to sync your calendars directly.
Some people have been able to set up calendar syncing by using the method detailed here - this is an unsupported hack and may not be reliable, and may stop working at some future point. (See below for alternatives.)
Address Book won't sync: this page has a convoluted hack to make it sync which has been reported as working (and as not working by others). I've not tried it. (See below for an alternative.)
To make proper use of iCloud you will have to upgrade your Mac to Lion or Mavericks, provided it meets the requirements.
    The requirements for Lion are:
Mac computer with an Intel Core 2 Duo, Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, or Xeon processor
    2GB of memory
    OS X v10.6.6 or later (v10.6.8 recommended)
    7GB of available space
Lion is available in the Online Apple Store ($19.99). Mountain Lion (10.8.x) is also available there at the same price but there seems little point as the system requirements are the same for Mavericks (10.9.x) - which is free - unless you need to run specific software which will run on Mountain Lion only.
The requirements for Mountain Lion and Mavericks are:
    OS X v10.6.8 or later
    2GB of memory
    8GB of available space
      and the supported models are:
    iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
    Xserve (Early 2009)
MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
It is available from the Mac App Store (in Applications).
You should be aware that PPC programs (such as AppleWorks) will not run on Lion or above; and some other applications may not be compatible - there is a useful compatibility checklist at http://roaringapps.com/apps:table
