Is any idea to print a job in A4 paper size by defult through AS3 using Flash CS5?

It works fine when I choose Standard Device type EPLQ550
But EPLQ550 is probably not supporting Arabic text. It Gives ########
Thats why I changed to Standard Device type ARSWIN
Now Arabic text looks ok..... but Printer is not getting initialised after the first check. it skps.

Printing on legal size paper

I have an hp psc1210 and I can print on legal size paper from my desktop, but when I am on my laptop that is on the network, I can't print on legal size paper. If I am using word perfect, the software automatically adjusts the bottom margin to 3.48" so that only what is visable on a letter size page is printed and in word it cuts off any characters below the letter size area. Any suggestions for solving this problem?

It seems that you have a software incompatibility between your word perfect and the psc,pls. try these steps:
add a universal driver on your computer
=open printers and faxes or printers
=click add a printer
=select add a local printer
=if your printer is connected via usb cable on your desktop, pls select on use existing ports and choose usb virtual port xxx
=if your desktop is connected via ethernet cable,pls.select create a new port and choose standard tcp/ip port and click next
(for network connection only: if it will ask to enter your ip address pls. print the ip address from your printer and enter it on the computer) and click next
=if it will ask for the manufacturer, pls. select hp on the left
=on the right side find hp deskjet 990c and click next
=use existing driver
=set as default printer
=you can rename the printer to psc 1210
=try printing again
if the issue still not resolved,uninstall and reinstall the printer software

I think that "ding-dong" error sound might be due to an old print job stuck in the print cache, though. Open the Windows Control Panel > Printers and Faxes and check the '''Status''' for that printer.

Creating universal app using flash cs5

Hi,
I'm using Flash CS5 and I wanted to create an universal app (iphone + ipad).
Then I click the "iphone IOS settings" there is no device menu, so I can't choose the desired devices..
I dont know why the device menu has disappeared?
I saw on several video tutorials, that you can simply choose the desired device.
But then I look at my own project and I click the "iphone IOS settings", I cant find any "device" menu by the "general" tab.
Does anybody know how I can resolve that problem?

A strange phenomena using Flash CS5

I've just found an item that I want Adobe to fix.
As you know there are three buttons related to the comments on the top of the script window.
They are .... [/*] [//] [(red)X]
I've found a strange phenomena using Flash CS5.
Note : In the following article, I'll write <tab> to mean tab.
Imagine that you typed this script below.
<tab>var AA:int = 10;
<tab>/* Commeent: AA is a number for a counter */
<tab>AA = AA + 1;
When you clicked [//], the script would change to ...
//<tab>var AA:int = 10;
//<tab>/* Commeent: AA is a number for a counter */
//<tab>AA = AA + 1;
After that, if you click [(red)X] to remove the // marks, the script changes to ....
<tab>var AA:int = 10;
<tab>Commeent: AA is a number for a counter
<tab>AA = AA + 1;
Yeah, /* */ mark has gone!
So be careful to click [(red)X] button when you sellect a long range of the script.

It sounds to me like the redX button is doing what it is supposed to, remove comment markings. If you would like Adobe to consider changing how it works, you should report it to Adobe using the link below. Posting here is just telling the rest of the users in these user-to-user forums.

Officejet Pro 8500A - unable to print on odd-size paper

After a couple of hours of frustration, I have decided that I an unable to print on odd-sized paper on our brand new HP printer! On an older string in this user forum, one suggestion was to make a paper cut-out from regular sized paper to put on top of an envelope to "fool" the printer into thinking it was using standard sized paper. I am trying to print odd-sized wedding invitations, and in order to to do this, I wouldn't be able to use the paper guides intended to keep the smaller paper in the middle.
Another suggestion would be to create a "custom size" paper in the printer properties, which doesn't seem to be possible in Windows XP as far as I can see.
My card-stock paper measures 4 3/4" x 6 7/8" Neither 5 x 7" nor 4 x 6" will work and I have tried numerous others, such as Janpanese postcard, Index card 4 x 6, etc.
Any suggestions? This is frustrating enough to look at other namebrand printers next time, but I guess I'm stuck with this one for a while!

I understand that you are encountering problems with getting your Officejet pro 8500A onto your new wireless network.
I would like to help.
i would try restoring the network defaults. This will help erase any 'old' information that may be stuck in the printers memory. I would like to give you specific steps for this, but I am unsure if you have the 8500A, 8500A wireless, or the 8500A premium.
Basically the steps are, go into the network menu, and select restore network defaults.

Printing on Custom size paper

I just purchased a HP Photosmart 7515 and I am trying to print on a paper 5 x 6.5 inches. I am doing this document in Word and I have the page set up in word correctly, but when I go to print the printer acts as if I have paper that is letter size (8.5 x 11in). When I go into the printer's properties and try to choose the paper size I get a drop down menu of several sizes, but not an option to do a custom size. Is it even possible to print on a custom sized paper or do I need to return the printer? If you know how to do it please let me know. Thank you.

I afraid the printer does not support using a custom paper sizes.
An alternative driver as the C310 is likely to fail as a such is not supported by the firmware.
You may find the printer specification below, as you may see any custom media size paper is not listed as supported within the Paper-handling specifications, I afraid a such is not supported for your printer:

Pixalation when deploying to iPad 2 using Flash cs5.5 trial downloaded 15 days ago

We are looking to use flash to create iOS apps, so we have downloaded the latest version of flash, but when testing on the iPad we see pixalation, is there a later version of cs5.5 or an update that will fix this issue?
Or is there a setting beside the setting Resolution set to High...
I did read somewhere about AIR3 is going to better renderring for 3D, but will it be for the iPad and also what about 2D rendering, I mean it is vectors aand I thought they did not pixelate.

Voice recognition support in mobile air application developed using Flash CS5.5

I want to develop an android application via Flash CS5.5 which takes the command based on voice or convert voice in to text. Voice recognition support is available in android SDK but it is not available in latest Air SDK.
I tried on Google to find out how to develop Voice recognition mobile application in Flash CS5.5 but did not find anything. There is some example/video which shows hack around native android code but this is for Flex not for the Flash.

Printing on Letter size paper, Margin issues!

I am working from a Dell Optiplex 755 with Windows XP, Illustrator CS2 and an HP 4345 printer.
The problem is summarized in the below paragraphed points:
We print on an 8.5x11 sheet of paper, with artwork sized for 8.5 x 11 exactly. The artwork contains 4 quarter page images to be cut into flyers, which each have 1/4" margins all the way around them. There is a back side as well, created with the same specifications. We wish to print these flyers duplex from high quality PDF files that we created in Illustrator.
When the print comes out, the right hand margin of the sheet is larger than the top, bottom, and left margins.
The top, bottom, left margins= 0.166"; this doesn't effect the top, bottom, and left sides of the artwork, as the .25" margin we setup on the artwork is greater than the .166" margin of the print area.
However, the right hand margin= 0.306"; this means that the right side of the artwork gets cut off by .056" (.306-.25")
In order to fit all of the artwork on the page, we can either shift the Page Tiling Print Area over slightly, or we can select the print option "Shrink to Fit". However this is a problem because we are printing the two sides as a duplex (printed both sides), and the tiled artwork on the front won't line up what is printed on the back because of the larger right margin. Therefore if the sides don't line up when we go to cut, the information is going to be cut off on the opposite side to the one we are cutting.
The printer setting for 8.5x11" paper "Letter" is what we believe to be creating the offset margin. (We checked the specifications for a Letter print, and the standard margins were identical to the ones we see exhibited in the print outs, 0.166" vs. 0.306")
We understand that there might be a way to set up your own custom print setting through Adobe Acrobat/ Photoshop/ Illustrator for a specfic type of print job, allowing you to control the print margins, but we are not familiar with the process.
Can you think of any other possible causes and/or solutions for the problems that are described?

Thanks for the feedback Karen! I'm not sure that the setup process is pricesly the same in illustrator but I've got some screenshots of how the artwork is setup to give you an idea.

So I think that the artwork is correctly setup, however the problem lies in the printing area that seems to be predetermined by the printer setting 'Letter' for 8.5x11" paper (see the dotted line on the second screen shot).
I see what you're talking about when you say 'centered on page' and yes we have Auto-Rotate and Center selected in the Page Handling options when printing from PDF. However it will still just chop off the artwork that comes within .306" of the right side of the page. Is there anyway around this .306" margin that seems to be set by the printer?

4500 envy cuts off right hand side of pdf document when I print to letter size paper

This is a new printer for me. It is connected to my laptop with a USB cord. I am attempting to print an e-mailed PDF document . When I preview, I see that the right-hand side of the document is cut off by more than an inch. How do I get the printer to format the document to fit on letter-sized paper? Reducing the document size to under 100 % does not help.

How can I publish a tablet size only app to the android market using Flash CS5.5?

I've developed an app to run on a tablet and would like to sell it in Googles Android Maket. I uploaded the .apk file to the android market however, the settings indicate that the app will work on small to large screen sizes.
Is there anyway I can specify that the app is only suitable for large (tablet) size devices? I believe there are some tags in the <manifest> section, which I think must be part of the .apk package Flash creates.

Can I alter these tags manually somewhere or is there some other way to specify the device size?

If you publish folio as Public/free then it will appear in app library and users can download folio and read folio content. You can test folio in ACV.
If you publish folio as Public/retail then it will only appear in library once associated in-apppurchase is approved by Apple. You can test folio in developer.ipa.
Woraround: You can create test app and keep title id as your application account in whch you published your folio and test developer.ipa. If folio is working fine in test app then publish it in LIve app.

How do I create a new frame using Flash CS5 on a Mac so I can add more pictures to my website?

I have what I hope is a fairly straight forward question that I hope you can answer if you write code with a Mac or are at least familiar with the process on a Mac? The person I have been working with to create my photography website uses a PC. Here is the problem. I am trying to use my Mac in order to create frames so that I can add 5 more images to a portfolio that presently has 15 images. The code is in an index.fla file. If I want to create a new frame in the index.fla, let's say LOAD CODE 381 and want to use the same text that is already present in LOAD CODE 380 but with a few edits, I have no trouble going to the Action-Movie Clip and finding LOAD CODE 380 in the left hand column. The problem is, on a Mac, how do I create frame LOAD CODE 381 and then how do I copy and paste the text from LOAD CODE 380 into LOAD CODE 381? It looks like on a PC one can open LOAD CODE 380 in the Action-Movie Clip, highlight the text then right click on the red rectangular box in the timeline. By doing so (on a PC) one sees a drop down menu that gives the option to "copy key frame". What is the equivalent of the "copy key frame" on a Mac? I can see where on the Mac you can go to Edit >copy. Is this the equivalent of "copy key frame" on a PC? If so, once I "copy" the text how do I create the new LOAD CODE 381 so that I can paste the text into the new frame?

frames by the person who originally designed the website and is shown
in the list of about 150 action frames that were created in this
particular fla document. This "list" comes up in the left hand column
of the Action-Frame box. When I click on Load Code 380 which is half
way down the column of frames, the following text comes up on the
large screen to the right of the column of 130 frames.

Image not loading in TLFTextField and TextFlow (Using Flash CS5)

I am using TLFTextField and TextFlow both in my application. Its a chatting application in which I need to show smileys. For this I use these components.

Problem:
1. When I load image at runtime the image does not shows in components.
2. When I import these images in Flash and convert it into movieclips the it loads in the textfield where user type the text, but it does not show up in the chat text area.
Show text in user text chatarea:
The code is written on Layer "Frame Actions" Frame 41 Function "showUserMessage". In this function it is showing the typed text in the user chat area.
User typing text:
The code is written on Layer "Generic Actions" Frame 11 Function "sendChatText". In this function it is picking text from user type text field.
The textfields are located on Layer "TLFTextFields".
The smileys that I am using are gif images(animated). I try loading images into flash and by calling from relative/absolute URL.
Please help me solving this problem. My project deadline is coming close .

sendChatText() function removes the TextFlow and p tags from the tlfMarkup output.
I converted the animated smiley to movieclips, here in the above response you can see the source of img tag is a movieclip class.
