Print is messed up after an Adobe Update

I do not remember what Adobe  product recently updated on my computer automatically.  After that the print on my display is weak and plain.  I have tried to change it by going into Display on my computer, then rebooting.  Nothing works.  Help, please!

I don't understand what you mean by "print".  Is this happening with all of your applicaitons or just web pages?  What operating system and browser are you using?

  • Difficulty printing (very slow) after latest adobe update

I installed the latest update on 4-16-13.  Immediately uninstalled Google Chrome and Google Toolbar.  Since then, it takes MINUTES to print anything - any software goes to "non-responding" mode before connecting to printers.

yes and a printer directly connected.  to change printers it takes forever... we have probably 200 computers on the servers.  two of us in the same dept are having issues - others aren't.

  • Photoshop 3D Extrusion stopped working after latest Adobe update

I have Creative Cloud subscription and Photoshop 3D Extrusion used to work fine (though slow).
After latest update several days ago it stopped working, displaying an error message instead:
"The 3D features require that 'Use Graphics Processor' is enabled in the Performance preferences. Your video card must meet the minimum requirements and you may need to check that your driver is working correctly"
The Graphic Processor is enabled, and the driver is working fine.
Is this a bug or a "feature" in new version? How to make it work as before the update?

Ken, who are "they"? I expect help from Adobe. Aren't you a staff member?
When Adobe sold me the Cloud it did not tell me that 3D features were not going to work.
The last update was applied only to Cloud version of Adobe products. It's not Photoshop specific. Something was wrong with the cloud software update.
I expect Adobe to fix the bug and make 3D features work again.

  • Printing with Epson 2880 after Apple Software Update of Epson Drivers

I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed the loss of "Print Settings and Color Management" controls in the print dialogue when printing from Lightroom or Photoshop after the recent Driver Update (which appeared in Software Update.) Prior to the Update which I had been avoiding until it came down when I updated iTunes (again, Software Update) all print options were available with the Epson software. Oddly, if you elect allowing the printer to control the output the color and color settings are available but if you set the (Lightroom or Photoshop) dialogue to the paper profile then the color and color settings are grayed out. I talked at length with both Epson Tech support and went through the drill of removing and installing the printer and installing the newest drivers (from Epson) and nothing changed. I talked with Apple and again, nothing changed inspite of various adjustments. This is just a little disturbing since I do a considerable amount of photo printing.
Any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated.

I'm going to make an additional comment to my question and that is, strange as the behavior is, this may be a normal function with the update. Although during my roughly hour talk with Epson tech support, the rep was not aware and gave me reason to believe what was (not) happening in the software was in fact wrong. Clearly, the new print dialogue with it's grayed out settings is different from the previous print dialogue and print settings. If you now use a paper profile - regardless of manufacturer - the software assumes you are going to turn off color management - which is absolutely correct. Although I have not tried it, I am led to believe from some material I found deep in Epson's Support, the "color" area in the print dialogue no longer permits electing printing in "advanced" Black and White. More correctly, inorder not to have B&W grayed out you must be using glossy paper and the correct black ink cartridge is in the printer. This isn't a bad idea but sometimes I find the image is better with a Matte paper. Obviously you can, and I have, printed in B&W - you just have to be aware that within the Color settings of the print dialogue you no longer have the "option" to select B&W or advanced B&W. In some strange ways the new dialogue and settings areas of the Apple print menu for the Epson printers is simpler but it does come as a surprise when you first struggle with the changes.

Has anyone heard of this or better still knows how to correcr this?  I have tried resetting the print system and reinstalling the driver, I contacted Epson support but they were not useful.

Gary Fong: yes, this was caused by the latest Apple updaye

  • Photosmart C4780 - Prints extra page even after HP driver update installed

With Mavericks (OS X 10.9.4) installed, I have noticed that completed print jobs remain in the print queue for my HP Photosmart C4780 when printing from Safari and Preview.  If I want to print another (different page), I usually have to delete the previous (100% complete) job from the queue so that the printer will print (I seem to recall that sometimes, with a Google Chrome browser, this is not necessary).  If I close my MacBook Pro's lid (which puts it to sleep) with a completed print job remaining in the HP queue, it will then print again for a second time.
Today, I installed the driver update below, but the problem did not go away when I tried to print from Safari and Preview.

Sure - restart your router, your printer and your Mac.  It should print faster (especially with a router restart).

  • DV playback is messed up after OS X update

Since I installed the latest OS X updaters (10.4.8, plus the security updates) all DV video plays back with these large green pixelated artifacts running diagonally across the screen. This happens only with video that has been encoded using DV. This makes it impossible for me to edit in Final Cut Pro because these things are constantly flowing across the screen. No other codec presents this problem, and I've determined it has nothing to do with the QuickTime installation. Does anyone have any insights as to what's going on here, and/or what I can do to fix this?

There is no chance that Acrobat 7's PDF printer can work in 64-bit systems. This PDF printer is used in converting Word and Excel documents to PDF.
So it is time to upgrade Acrobat along with upgrading Windows.

  • Clock Messed Up After Friday's Update

Help!  Since Friday's update, every time I go to the standard default clock app to set my alarm, it sets it for the current day of the week.  So last night, when I tried to set my alarm for Monday morning, it set it for next Sunday.  The only way to fix this is to choose a daily alarm for all weekdays under the repeat function, which is not what I need
Can anyone tell me WHY my clock will no longer set automatically for the next occurrence of the alarm time?  If I set an alarm now for 6:00 AM, I want it set for 6:00 AM tomorrow, not in a week!

  • Unable to print to pdf after adobe update

    Hi All,
After an adobe acrobat last week, I am unable to print word documents as pdf. I get the following error message:
    Invalid "ADOBE PDF" printer properties:
    Do not change spooler settings.
Please select "Print directly to the printer" option (from adobe PDF printer properties "Advanced" tab).
    Could somebody please help
    Thanks
    R

I have a similar problem. I have adobe 9.0 pro and word 2007. Everything was fine until a couple of days ago. Now when I try to create a pdf, it doesn't work. When I try to print to pdf I get the following error
Adobe PDF Settings file read error in :
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Adobe PDF\Settings\Standard.joboptions
I have tried repairing the program, recovery to an earlier date, updating, removing and reinstalling both adobe and word 2007 and still get the same error. Anyone have an idea what I should do next. I have gone into the add-ins and adobe is enabled.
Thanks, I hope someone has an idea.

  • After installing the update to Adobe Reader 11.0.09 can't print PDF's anymore

After installing Adobe Reader 11.0.09 I can't print PDF's anymore. After click on 'Print' I get the message 'can't print the document', after click 'OK' I get the message 'there are not pages selected'. What's the solving for this problem? Thanks for troubelshooting!

Two obvious troubleshooting techniques are to delete and re-install the printer driver (or updating printer driver) and fixing the installation of Acrobat. Have you given those a try?

  • Distiller 9 issue after a new update to Adobe Acrobat Pro (version 9.3)

After installing the update, I was asked to reboot my HP Pavilion dv9617nr Notebook Computer (Windows Vista Home Edition). After the reboot, I was given an error message which explained that the ICC Color profiles in Adobe Distiller 9 could not be found and that I should reinstall my Adobe Acrobat 9 software. My question is: Yes I probably should reinstall my software but this will only be a temporary solution that will become a redundant problem when I again attempt the same update that caused the probllem initially. How can I simply back out the update? What if anything has been done to replace the update that caused the problem. Has there been any posts to this or other forums about this update problem? Please help me resolve this issue.

Adobe Tech support was most helpful on this.  First download the updated
    Distiller ICC profile files at:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/thankyou.jsp?ftpID=4075&fileID= 3790
Unzip the file and copy only the *.icc files (without regard to the subfolders that they are in - in other words, take the files out of each of the subfolders) to the followng folder in Windows 7:
    c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color
These new files will probably overwrite some old ones.
This solved the problem for me.
This is actually the best solution though I found that instead of copying all the .icc files to the windows\sys...  folder, all you need to do is copy the 3 Video files from the RGB folder (VideoHD.icc, VideoNTSC.icc, and VideoPAL.icc).  Once you add these three files to  c:\windows\system32\spool\drivers\color  you will be good to go.
It seems that this was an error on the part of Adobe in that there is no reason to include Video files for printing.  Nevertheless, the distiller will look for these and return the ICC profile error message if those files are not present.

  • Fix acrobat 10.1.9 - print driver wont funtion after update

After the 10.1.9 update in acrobat X. I can no longer print to teh print driver from other applications. It goes to print and then fails with error message in printer que.
I've tried to reload update but no change. What to do?

    Anoop
The error message was in the printer que and would just state " Error printing" under status.
I think I have fixed it for now. I deleted the adobe printer listed another as my default and re ran the update. This created a new printer and I changed it back to my default printer and it has worked a couple of times so far. We'll see how long it lasts.
This is not the first time I've had an issue like this. The adobe printer has failed several times on me in the past, mostly only failing on occasion until it gets worse to the point of not working. It's frustratng to print something and have nothing happen or maybe it will. I'm wondering now if it has been becuase of an update. Every once in a while my computer will quit printing to the adobe printer and I have to go through a blind man's redo this change that repair until it starts working again for some reason. Mostly in the past I have been able to delete and recreate the printer to get it working again. This time it wouldn't work even after fixing the update, reloading the update, re-running the update. The thing I changed when it did work was to delete the printer and list another printer as my default. When I reran the update it created a new printer that worked??????????
So far - you are the only help I have found with this issue. I and our IT guy have spent alot of time looking for something on this issue and find nothing. If you have any light to shed on this I would appreciate it.
    Thanks

  • Photoshop CS5 - colour settings in Print menu not working after update Mac OSX maverick

After upgrading to Maverick OSX on the iMac printing from CS5 via Epson R3880 is not working correctly. In Print Settings menu the drop downs for Colour and Colour Settings are greyed out. I already re-installed PS and installed the new drivers from epson. Any ideas?

but after choosing PS manages color, the options in the print menu for choosing color (color or b&W) and color settings are not available anymore. They used to be the last three years I printed with photoshop/epson 3880.
Instead they are greyed out now.

If Photoshop managed color, then the controls in the printer driver are supposed to be grayed out - that's how Apple specifies drivers to work (because only one party should be managing the print color).
So what you're describing is perfectly normal.
