Print Menus

I've been using PSE 10 on an iMack (0S10.8.4) and printing photos on an Epson R2400 since March.  When I returned from vacation in early July, the print menu was no longer available in Organizer.  Instead, I was given the option of the print menu in Editor.  It isn a much poorer menu and I am getting lousy prints.  How to I get the print menu in Organizer back?

There has never been printing from organizer in any mac version of PSE. Are you perhaps remembering your previous windows computer? Print quality from the editor is superior. If you want to make a picture package or contact sheet, those are in the File menu on a mac, the same place they've always been.

My Canon MX 922 does not scan. My printer is connected via cable. Wireless doesn't work either.  I get an error message with multiple suggestions but none of them apply to my situation.
I am so dissatisfied with this printer.  I'm sorry I got it from Amazon because now it is a hassle to return it.  I will never buy another Canon.
The printer menus are confusing.  I hate using it.  I loved my previous Canon which finally stopped working after many years, that's why I purchased a newer Canon model.  Never again.  Stick with cameras.

This note won't be as angry and frustrated as the last one...
Because I still had my old printer drivers and other applications on my hard drive, I think the application was trying to connect with the old printer.  I deleted all the old stuff.
I also had several scanning applications on my drive which just confused me.
When I used the actual Canon MX922 application, I was able to scan but could only save as JPG, TIF or BMP (and one more, I forget which).  So I did some research on the Canon site and found out how to save documents as PDF files using the Canon IJ Scan Utility.
It works now.  So I'm satisfied, will keep this maching.  I just had to take some time, sit down and focus on the problem.

  • Is there a way to suppress title (e-mail) pages when using e-print?

I work from home using VPN and print by sending documents as attachments to my home Photosmart B210 printer.  Every time I send a job there is a wasted page as the e-mail page prints.  My office e-mail server automatically attaches a disclaimer "privacy" tagline to each message, so there is no way to send a blank e-mail.  Is it possible to turn off the printing of the e-mail page?  I can't find anything in the printer menus, manual or ePrintCenter.

There isn't an option to do that at this time, unfortunately.

  • Go to Offline status after sending print in HP

Hi everybody.I have two HP Laserjet 4100. Both of them after sending print from windows go to offline status and an error message appear (Yellow Error BOX in notification area).Printer screen show Ready message. The light on the printer is green and fixed. I connect printer with LPT cable to PC.I can get test print from printer menus without any error. I test printer on windows XP 32bit and windows 7 64bit. I get driver from HP Support And Driver Download Center. I install any type of driver (XP 32bit/7 64 bit/ Universal PCL5)I try to use Doctor Hp to find problem but this application is not support LPT connections. I do Cold reset and reset maintenanc counter (With holding left arrow of Items and Value keys).I used 3 diffrent and new LPT cable. I confused and tired! Please help me to solve this problem. Thanks

Right now it appears you are having communication issues from the computer to the printer since the printer will print test pages.  The first thing you will want to do is use one of the 32bit computers attached with parallel cable to test communication from the port to the printer.  With the printer connected to the port and I assume the lpt port is lpt1, go to start and run and type command and hit enter.  At the prompt that appears in the black box type cd\windows and hit enter. Now at the C:\windows prompt, type dir >> lpt1 and hit the enter key.  Does the printer data light start to flash and does the printer start to print pages.  If it does, then communication is fine and you need to remove and reload the printer using the correct driver.  If it does not print then you have an issue with the port on the computer, the cable or the port on the printer.  Since it happens with two printers I would think that would eliminate the port on the printer.  You may want to check the port setting in the BIOS of the computer.  Most ports are Standard, ECP and EPP.  Best to set the port for Standard when using an old legacy printer.  Good Luck.

Don't know if you ever figured this out but here is the answer...
I just spent the last two days on this and have finally sorted it out. It actually isn't that hard to do but for some reason, no one has consolidated the information in one place!
First and foremost, make sure that you have all the latest and greatest firmware updates for your printer, your computer and your mobile devices.
Next, you need to connect your printer to your network via an ethernet cable, this is the only way to get in to the printer softare to configure it for your wireless network.
Navigate the printer menus on the keypad to Reports>Config Report and print this report. It will provide you with the IP adress and IPv4 address for the printer.
With the printer connected to your network and powered on, point your browser to the IP address of the printer. If this doen't work (it didn't for me) use the IPv4 address.
This will open the configuration panel for the printer and will let you configure the wireless for the printer so that it can join your wireless network. You will see various tabs across the top. Select network. Then along the left you will see wireless. Choose that. Now you should see a list of wireless networks available including your very own home network. Choose that one, enter your password and hit apply.
Disconnect the ethernet cable and you should be ready to Airprint from all devices. This worked for me, I can't imagine it won't work for all...then again...

  • IPhoto '08 User Interface Changes Make Printing Really Hard For Me.

The printing menus and options are so much different in iPhoto 2008, I have so many problems I can't begin list them all. But I'll try. I hope some Apple iPhoto developers read this, and decide to make iPhoto 2008 as good as the old iPhoto printing.
My printer is a Brother DCP-120C. I had been using it fine with iLife '06 on my G4 imac. my new mac came with ilife '08, and Im thinking of downgrading, it's so brutally awful.
Problem #1: Glossy Paper versus Standard. In every standard Print dialog on Mac, you can drop down a reveal triangle and change all kinds of stuff, even create and safe different PRESETS. You can't do that on iPhoto 08. the only Preset is Standard, even when I create a new preset in other Apps, that Preset does not appear in iPhoto. Thus the Presets option is useless.
Problem #2: There used to be an n-UP selection (2-up, 3-up) quickly right from the printer page. You could print 8 pictures, 2 per page, or even 2 copies of the same picture, quickly and easily. The nearest workaround I have found is to NOT use the Print buttons at the bottom of the iPhoto dialog at all, but only manually select item thumbnails (top of screen) and then use the File Print menu command, which brings up the standard Mac OS printer dialog. This is horrible. Two different ways to print, with two different printer dialogs, and two awful incompatible sets of options.
Problem #3: The standard Themes for printing includes a total of 5 themes. Was this the best they could do? Where's my "Standard Prints - 4x6" , "Standard Prints 5x7" and so on like in '06. If they're going to refactor the whole deal the least they could do is provide some coverage of the classic stuff.
It's not as broke as iMovie 08, but iPhoto 08 is a disappointment, on the printing front. Love the Events feature, hate the Printing changes.

You're right. That works. Thank you. Now I can do what I want. But I expect Apple to put a bit more thought into its products than this... It's all in all, a lot more clicks than in iPhoto 06, and I still find the three different print dialogs quite confusing. To sum up the stuff that still bothers me, which I hope Apple fixes in the next update is:
    (1) When you go from your main photo library, select a few photos and click the Print button on the bottom right corner, you can't select Glossy, or any other printer paper types without going a few clicks deeper into the print system. There are a bunch of useless options in the first-printer-dialog-you-see that do nothing, and a bunch of missing-options that used to be in iPhoto 06.
    (2) If I only want one photo printed several times, the trick of selecting one I want plus three I don't, giving a total of four, then dragging a photo over the other spots to be filled by the first photo I actually want is a huge waste of time compared to iPhoto 06.
    (3) The change from a sheet (a window attached to the main iphoto window, but not taking up all the space) to the full iphoto editing pane (everything in the main iphoto window except the left-side where your photo library, and your projects/folders are) is confusing, maybe a core-animation fade where the sheet grows to show that this is the same dialog but a different mode. This advanced button is breaking all the rules. Every other Advanced button I've ever seen just resizes the same dialog box, and does not jump right out of the dialog box, like you clicked Cancel. In fact, I suggest they just DROP the first dialog box completely, since it's pretty close to useless, and jump right to the advanced page, and maybe have one quick-presets icon on the left that lets you do everything (via a popup icon stack, like in the new leopard Dock) from there.
    (4) In the first (useless) printer dialog, only Standard appears in the Presets list. In the one you get to after clicking Advanced, then clicking File-Print, the Presets menu in this second print dialog allows you to select glossy paper. Since I always need to do this, anything in the first menu that I print would come out looking like crap, making the quick-print dialog box useless.
Again, thanks for your help, Anastassios T, I really appreciate it. But I do hope someone from Apple hears the cry of the hapless victims of iPhoto 08, and solves its problems for the next Apple-Update cycle.

  • Choose printer paper Epson Stylus 1400

I have a new iMac 27-inch running OSx 10.6.2 and a new Epson Stylus 1400 printer. I've tried printing from several applications including Photoshop Elements 8, and none of the printing menus offers a choice of photo paper.
    Where do you find that?

Actually, my problem was much more complicated than that. The printer profiles were buried in a folder that was not accessible to Photoshop Elements. The solution is explained in this thread:

  • Trying to print document freezes inDesign, then have to force quit program!

I've been trying to print a document and it throws indesign into a freeze. The pinwheel spins and spins and then when I open "force quit" under Mac, inDesign shows as "unresponsive." Other tasks seem to work fine. Any ideas? Thanks!

I've been printing to a Xerox Phaser 7500 (Snow Leopard) and it can be challenging. As  far as I can tell it likes you to take no shortcuts in the print menus. Meaning-- after clicking on Print, I am now always clicking Again on PRINTER at the bottom of the window, then making a selection under the XEROX menu, hitting print then print again. (Which model are you dealing with?)  [I 'm comfortable saying that the issue has nothing to do with the binary message which I'e been ignoring for eons]

  • Borderless printing - trailing white edge

I've far more experience printing from PCs than Macs (used to use QImage on those), and am well aware of issues like overspray/borderless extension settings to rpoduce borderless prints.
Anyhow I cannot get a 6x4" borderless print to print without as trailing white edge from iPhoto - not sure if this is because there's no page setup menu option.
When you click print, the first screen shows the photo filling the 'canvas', but if I print there's a 7mm trailing white edge.
This white edge is also evident if I hit preview rather than printing straight off.
I can print the photo from Preview/Lightroom with no problems with whta seem to me to be identical settings.
    Printer is a Canon iP5000.
I don't think iPhoto is centering the image properly on the page as an equal amount of photo is chopped off the top.
There's at least 1 other thread but no solution on that.
I'll try the other printers to see if I have problems with those too.

Did you ever get a solution to your problem? I was looking into another issue and saw your post. I use a Canon i850 printer and in the print preview window I get a white sliver at the top and right of the image. However, it does not print that way.
Have you tried going to the Advance print menus and under the Paper Handling-Destination Paper Size menu section checked the radio button "Scale to fit paper size:"?
    Do you Twango?

  • Remove 2 sided printing

Have a Duplex Printer and we recycle paper that already has one sided printed (wife's a teacher - lots of paper).  Our MacBook Air defaults to two sided printing and I can not change this.  I understand that if you remove the printer and reestablish it, the "two sided printing" option will once again show up.  For other document printing it does not.  Can someone help?

On both my duplex printers 2 sided printing is an option which has to be selected. The print sheet may not show all the options, look for a button that said Show Details (if you see a button labeled Hide Details you are looking at the detailed screen already). Look at the print sheet for 2 sided printing. If you don't see it, look for a (probably unlabeled) popup menu and check there.
In the screen capture below you can see that two sided printing is on the main print sheet. However, also note the layout popup menu. On some programs I'd need to look at the other print menus. This one is labeled layout but other programs will show other names for the default print sheet.

  • How to default printing to details view

I upgraded to 10.8 and now every time I print, it defaults to the small window whereas I want the Details view of the print menus by default. 10.6 used to be in Details mode all the time; how do I make it use the Details view of printing options?

If I click on the Show Details button in the print window on my system (10.8.4), it shows the details view in the print window.  Once I do that, the next time I print from that same application, it defaults to the details view.
It doesn't default to that if I try printing in a new application that I have not clicked that on though.
When you click on Show Details in the print window and then print again from that same application, does it open with the details view?

  • What happened to my print dialogue box

I seem to have lost the option to choose what print quality I would like and if I want to print in B&W or color. Did Tiger get rid of these options? Or is it a problem with older printers? I am using an Epson Stylus Photo 820. (the driver was included in 10.4.3, so I can print...)
I have looked in my printer set up utility as well as the page set-up menus and the print menus. Maybe there is somewhere I am missing?

  • C4680 Prints Blank Pages using Mac OS X 10.9 (Mavericks)

    Hello.
My Hp printer recently started to print blank pages. The problem started with two of the prints partially printed and since then the rest appears blank. I check the UTILITY tool - the cartridge levels are good (the tricolor is full, the black ink level shows yellow warning triangle but no critical level). The next step I performed was printing a test page through UTILITY, but a blank page was printed. Finally I deleted the hp folder from Library/Printers, then deleting the Printer using the - sign in the System Preferences/Printers and back again to Printers with downloading and installing the drivers through the Apple Software Update as suggested by the system once I used the + sign (Add Printers) command. After all this manipulations the printer is still printing blank pages. Could you please help me with the solution.
    Thank You,
    PetarTzenev

    Hi TeriLynn,
I have successfully installed the v 3.3.1 Drivers on my Mac, but after triple check with my other macbook OS Yosemite and with other Windows Vista laptops I am almost 100% sure that the problem is the black cartridge. It should be completely empty nevertheless is shows some ink.
So, at least the Printer menus are there - utility, supplies, etc.
Once I buy the black cartridge, I hope I'll find the problem.
One suggestion for HP, please take my case and fix the Mac "no ink" notifications. At any moment I did not receive a pop-up warning that I have to change the cartridge.
TeriLynn, thank you very much for the efforts and your guidence. It was really helpful.
    Thank you.
    Best regards.
