Print options blank in reader

My computer crashed recently. I used to use Adobe 9 to print out faxes I receive. That was not available anymore so I am now using Reader X. My system is an XP. When I try to print faxes (pdf files) and my printing options come up the box is blank. I basically guess which button to push to print. It prints just fine. My problem is that occasionally I need to print just one page of say a 30 page fax. I'm not able to make that selection because the box is blank.
Thanks for any help.

Probably has something to do with your crash. Something is munged. If you set a point so you can restore your computer to before the crash you might be ok. If not I'd recommend you find a decent registry fixer and remove all traces of Reader 9 or 10 and then re-install 10. You might be out of luck though and need to re-install your OS if that doesn't work.
Of course if you have a good backup, you can erase your drive and restore your backup.

    HI!
I have the same problem =)
I have fixed this issue using the "app.fs.isFullScreen = true;" statement.
Doing this you don't see toolbar anymore.
You can use "hideToolbarButton" instruction and, maybe, you can obtain a more interesting result.

  • Override default print options in Adobe reader

    Hello Adobe support team,
Can you please provide the possible ways to override the print options that comes by default. In the below snapshot marked in red green and blue are the ones that we want to be set as default print options for a selected document instead of users setting it for each document.
    Please help!

All permanent print options are set from the Printer Control Panel without being in the printer setup from within the application.

  • Default printer settings in Reader X? Why must I reset my print option each time?

Each time I try to print a pdf, the application takes over the printing duties instead of allowing my printer options to come up. There is the option to set printer options by clicking on the "Printer..." button. This is annoying to be sure, but the big problem is that I have to do this each time I desire double sided printing, which is always. If the application demands control over printing, it should be able to utilize the features offered by my printer and set a default print option. In the very least, it should used the last printer option selected. Is there any way to do this? It is annoying and often wastes paper as I use command P/Enter to print when I'm in a hurry.
On the up side, I love that it was easy to set the default page view/zoom options.

USB interface? Are you using one of those USB to parallel adapter cables?
They don't allow two-way comm - which is how the printer tells the computer "done with this page."
You can try this special USB driver that deals with this problem:
    http://buymelunch.org/printing/usbtb/
Any reason you stopped using network printing?

  • "Installable Options" - blank, none available for HP printer

I have MacBook and HP Deskjet 3740 printer. The printer has installed and prints OK but I cannot find option to print in draft (as I always did with my previous Windows system). I have looked for the equivalent of the Windows print options panel - preferences/printer/set up but the "Installable Options" screen is blank. Help!!

    Hi @jank,
Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I understand that you are wondering if an app you used to have is still available for Windows 8.1.
The app you mention in your post predates my time with HP and I had to do some digging around.  I was able to find out that at one time an app similar to the one you mentioned did exist, but no one I worked with was able to remember the name of it or how it worked.  It appears that it is no longer available.

  • Adobe Reader 10.1.2 Print options

    Hi,
I noticed that the print options have changed to "actual size", "fit" and "shrink oversized pages"
None of these work for me.  I need to have "page scaling set to none" back.  How can I get this?
    Thanks
    Dan

"Actual Size" option is the new name for "None".
In the previous releases, we had "Shrink" option as the default print option which has been renamed as "Shrink oversize pages" and is no more the default option.
    I hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Atul

  • HP7680 inkjet printer prints narrow blank (white) lines in multiple specific parts of page

My HP7680 inkjet printer prints narrow blank (white) lines in multiple specific parts of each printed page. It appears to happen in the same parts of each page printed.
    - I installed new ink cartridges
    - I verified that the paper I’m using is the standard inkjet paper that I always use
    - In the tools section of the printer setup menu, I ran the “Clean Printhead”, “Align Printer”, and “Calibrate Linefeed” options
    - In reading the printer’s manual, it seems to imply that the printheads could be the problem.
    - So, I manually cleaned the printhead contacts
    - When I print the self-test diagnostics page, it shows printhead health to be “Good” for both. One of them was installed in January of 2009, and the other was installed March of 2008.
    - With a Q-tip, I even cleaned the clear plastic band that runs parallel to the carriage rod. (It was pretty dirty.)
Here's a scan of the printed output.
    Thanks for your help!

After a 2hr phone call with tech support, here is the solution; the L7600 Series printer have a firmware update (file name: OfficejetProK7600_R2011PxN.exe) my printer was bought in 2008 thus my print head is a 2008 model, and new print heads are a 2011 modem, they don’t work right in a 2008 model this is PER the tech rep and his name was John unless you upgrade the firmware.
So I upgraded the firmware from a 2004NxN to the 2011PxN and now my printer says damaged or missing print head, I place the original print head from 2008 back in the machine and it’s fine, so I bought a 3rd print head for 2011 and it says the print head is damaged.
After another 30min or so I was told I have a bad printer and sorry the warranty is out, but the old print head works but any new print heads do not, this sounds like a HP Error firmware / hardware compatibility issue, not my issue, but HP will not repair.
HP has no fix nor will they repair the printer.

  • Indesign crashes when clicking on print options

indesign cs6 crashes when clicking on printer or page setup within the print options. OS 10.7.4

    Peter,
Yes, I can bring up the Paragraph Styles and the Character palettes with no document open, edit the [Basic Paragraph] style to change the font family, then open a blank document, and new text boxes will use that font.
I'm on a bit of a deadline right now, so I ended up uninstalling ID CS5 and reinstalling it.  I can now successfully bring up the Edit menu and the right-click context menu both in a blank document and in the document I was working on before.  I'm sure the problem will reappear again at some random point in the future, so I am still looking for fixes that don't involve reinstalling the app.
BTW, I have tried exporting my work document to IDML and re-importing it, but to no avail.  I've also tried toggling Dynamic Spelling (past threads have suggested this as a possible fix), but also to no avail.
It would be really nice if Adobe products produced some sort of crash dump or bug report when this sort of thing happens...

  • Re: Pricing Procedure -Print option

    Hi
In Pricing Procedure - Print option what is the difference between X ,S and A.
    Regards
    Debasish

    Dear Debashish,
I am sure you read the F1 help. but still would like to put my view in hope that it will resolve your problem.
As per my understanding of the explanation given there goes, these field follow a standard logic, which is already mentioned in F1 help. I will try to elaborate the same. and sure will make more sense.
    if you leave it blank,
Point 1 : System will consider all the pricing conditions (e.g PR00 ),etc available in pricing and at the end of these conditions last condition will be determined with "X"
point 2 : all the condition values which are smaller than pricing (e.g PR00 value )will only be printed if the print field is marked either with "X"  or "S"
Point 3 : all the conditions which are greater than the pricing condition (e.g PR00) and are coming before the tax conditions the field will be automatically marked as "S" ( which is nothing but for totals of few conditins )
Poiint 4: all the tax conditions are always marked with "S"
Point 5 : if  you want to mark the field "s" it should fullfill criteria as
                             A) condition types which are non zero
                             B) are not tax conditions also,
condition lines in pricing procedure which are not condition types e.g sub totals, you can mark the field as "X" or "S" but they will get printed only if the condition line has different value than the earlier condition line.
Please also read the next explanation given in F1 help will be useful.
Please close the thread if answered.
    Regards,
    Paresh
