Print Orientation and Rotated Pages

Adobe Reader 8 and 9 have lost a feature that Adobe Reader 7 performs--I am hoping that someone can tell me I am wrong, though.
In AR7, if I print a 14" page on 11" paper then print at actual size, I get the top 11" of the page. If instead I rotate the page 180 degrees and print I get the bottom 11" of the page. With AR8 and AR9, rotated or not I get the top 11" of the page.
Searching the forum I saw one post mention that one needs to rotate the page rather than the view but I find no way to this in AR9; I suspect the writer was talking about Acrobat or other tool.
Is there a way to do this just with the Reader?

As I suspected, but that is not really my question. Is there a way to do what I described with just the Reader? If not, I guess I will have to stick with Reader version 7...

  • Printing odd and even pages separately (manual duplex)

    Hi
I searched the forum and found some similar problems regarding Adobe Reader 8.1.2 : Adobe Reader 8.1.2 doesn't print odd and even pages correctly
This was posted more than a year ago. A few days ago I encountered the same problem with Adobe Acrobat 8.1.2. I suspected that it could be beacause of outdated software. I then applied incremental patches up to 8.1.5. But the problem still persists.

The link was about Reader, but I tried it with AA8.1.5 on a 3 page document and did indeed find the same problem. The 1st page printed out, but the 3rd page was missing when printing the odd pages. When printing the even pages, the 2nd page printed out 2 times. The 3rd page never showed up. I think this is what you are talking about. Wonder if they fixed it in AA9?

  • Printing Portrait and Landscape pages on same report

    Hi all,
    Oracle E-Business Suite 11.5.10.2
    Oracle Reports Builder 6i
I am developing atwo-sided EBS report which I require to detail invoice lines in Portrait orientation on one side and then have a landscape layout detailing other related information on the back.
I am using the Main Section to display the Portrait orientation and the Trailer Section to display the Landscape orientation.
This is producing the correct output when there is one invoice. However when there are multiple invoices selected in the Data Model, all the Portrait Invoice Line pages (Main Section) are printed first and then the Landscape Additional pages (Trailer Section).
Does anyone have any suggestions to get around this issue?
    Kind Regards,
    Gary.

In the pages panel, choose Rotate Spread View from the panel menu.

  • How to print legal and letter pages from one pdf on a dual paper printer?

    Hello,
How do I print one pdf which includes both legal and letter sized pages on the respective sized paper?
I purchased Brothers' HL-5470DWT dual paper printer for this specific task. The printer is configured to recognize the second tray (although the paper size is undetermined...) and the print setting includes setting the "Scaling" to "Fit to Paper Size".
Of course, the box is checked for "Choose paper source for pdf page size".
I should be able to configure my print settings and the printer should determine whether to print on legal or letter sized paper. I am using Windows XP sp3 and Adobe Reader 9.5 because I learned that Adobe Reader X was not compatible with dual paper printers. Brother's help desk referred me to Adobe...  Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Have you attempted without including the option "Fit to Paper Size"; set scaling to None.

  • Hp2015 define printer orientation and 'fit to paper'

i am trying to create a printer that only does 1 thing.  printer landscape and fit the text to the page no matter what.
i know that may not seem practical but it will be used to only print 1 report which is slightly bigger than a page landscape at 8 pt font.  6 pt is too small.  i works wonderfully when i choose the printer go thru the customizing for it, even save a quick set task named for the report.  when i print it, it looks good.
but, even after saving the parameters, the next time i print 'default' to the printer some my quickset task info is gone and it returns to the defaults for the hp2015.  i have thought of deleting all the quick sets except the one i made, but it wont let me delete the 'default' settings.
anyone know how i could accomplish this?
    thanks.  jim

Open your printers folder. Right click on the printer icon and select Properties. CLick on the Advanced Tab, and clikc on the 'Printing Defaults' button at the bottom. Now make te necessary changes here, and see if it's remembered by the printer.

  • Print: zoom AND multiple pages

    Hi,
I need to print a 4 pages long pdf on one single two-sided page. To do that, i do the multiple pages option: put 2 pages per printed page (2 on the front page, 2 on the back side). Because every single of these four pages is already in very small font size (every pages contains 16 slides), I need to zoom a bit, so that I can erase the most unnecessary space possible (the white marges). Without the zoom, it's written so small that I can't read it; by removing the marges, I can enlarge a bit the space and make it readable.
With the new pdf version, I can only chose between putting 2 pages on one page, or zoom; not both at the same time. Can somebody tell me how I can to both at the same time please?
I hope I could clearly expose my problem and that somebody can help me.

Quite imposing has features that allow you to minimize the space between your pdf pages that are being imposed for the same piece of paper.

  • Printing Borderless and Multiple Pages per Sheet (PDF)

Anyway to do this? I have a thousand page pdf doc that I need to print out but want to maximize viewing area. Obviously individually cropping pages is out of the question.

You may be right about Adobe Reader.  However in Adobe Acrobat X Pro you can simply choose Print>[select booklet button] and choose your options there.  You will see a preview.  Because of the ratio between 8.5x11 and 2-up 8.5x11 you will have a "letterbox" white border on the top and bottom of your pages but you will be able to print with no gutter and no margin on the edges.  Your printer must allow for borderless printing and you must have enough ink.  You will have to have a high-end printer that can print borderless if it is a laser printer but most ink-jet/photo printers can print borderless.  However the downside is that you will have to replace your inks quite frequently and you will have to print duplex probably manually.  You will want a paper weight sufficiently heavy enough to accomodate printing on both sides because otherwise the opposite page will bleed through making it difficult to read.

  • Why is the first page printed fine and subsequent pages are huge type with missed information?

When printing from a website the first page that gets printed is normal: regular size print and it fits on the page. All subsequent pages are large print do not fit on the page and information is missing between printed pages.
    This is a recent problem..maybe two-three weeks?

    See my answers below:
    a) The size of the pages of PDF which you are printing. LETTER
    b) Does all pages of the PDF are of same size? YES
    c) What is the page size set in the Printer and what is the actual size of the paper which you have put in the tray? LETTER
    d) Does this problem also happens on the virtual printer which you might have on your system (Try either Microsoft MPS Document writer or Adobe PDF Printer) No VIRTUAL PRINTERS
Thank you for attempting to help me with this... we have tried everything and haven't been able to resolve the problem.

  • Printer hesitates and skips pages

The printer hesitates between sentences for a long time and does not print all pages when using duplex printing.

    Hello mkndhp1984,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having some printing issues when doing Duplex printing.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Do a proper power cycle with the use of the ON/OFF button.  This will do a Semi Power reset on the printer.
Attempt the print job again and let me know the results.
I look forward to hearing from you.
    Cheers,

  • In Sapscript, print page 1 on printer 1 and page on printer 2 -(tray setup)

    Hello Experts,
We have a requirement in our cheque printing program wherein we need to print on different printers.
I think this has something to do with trays in sapscript. Because for page 1, we need to print
on a pre-printed form and for page 2 onwards we just need to print it on an ordinary papaer.
Can you please tell me how I can achieve this and how do we customize it in sapscript?
Hope you can help me guys. Thank you and take care!

The resource names are already set by SAP. TRY01, TRY02, TRY03 which correspond to the same trays in the Printer setup (txn: SPAD, Tray Info window). I suspect there are more possible values (some printers have more than 3 trays) but I've never seen them documented.
Note, your basis team needs to make sure the tray settings are in SPAD and the print drivers are set correctly.

  • How can I add a signature and insert pages?

The security settings only let me either add a signature OR insert, rotate or delete pages. I need an option to do both. Is there a way to make my own custom security settings?
Basically, what I need is a document that is not editable when you open it in illustrator or other editing programs. Setting the security to allow only adding and rotating pages is perfect except for the not being able to sign it thing...
We work like this: We print a file, add one of the customized "approved" stamps in the annotations pallet, add some other pages to it and send it to the sales rep. They may need to extract or delete pages but have no need to edit them. However, compeitors occasionally will get the file and want to import it into their own system. Which is why we want the security, so they cant.
If theres another way to add some sort of stamp or signature to the file, that would be fine. Its just an iso thing.
Im using windows 7 and adobe acrobat XI pro.

I am not sure I understand what you mean by "security". Do you apply a "Permissions" password to PDF? If so, then remember that Adobe products and some other PDF Viewers obey restrictions that you set for a PDF, but many 3-rd party PDF Viewers do not. So, even if you set the restrictions, it is still possible to not obey them. There are even Web services where you can upload a PDF with restricted permissions and it will return an unrestricted PDF. This whole restrictions thing was put in PDF when Adobe was the only game in town but that was 10 years ago..
You can use certifying signature to reliably restrict what can be done to PDF, but Acrobat UI provides limited restriction choices. Other Adobe products, like LifeCycle provide more restrictions choices but this is probably a too expensive solution for you.

  • Orientation Vs Rotate View

Hi, I am trying to copy the formfields from a document to a new blank document of the same size. The existing document is 11"x8.5". I can create a new blank document and rotate the page but then when I copy the formfields they are vertical rather than horizontal. I have googled about orientation vs rotating pages and got more confused.
The document I want will be 11"x8.5", landscape and never needs to be rotated portrait. But I can't seem to find how to make my new blank document landscape rather than portrait.
    Thanks.

Can you explain this? That's not much of an answer. I'm not trying to crop anything.
I did find you can set the default for new documents to be landscape and that worked. But it seems really odd that you can set the default and not just do that action/function to an existing document.

  • Can I change the order or rotate pages in acrobat reader?

This may be a silly question... I actually own & use Pro, so I don't use Reader. But my grandmother has the reader and wants to know if she can change the order of pages (and rotate pages) in acrobat reader. Or does she need to buy acrobat standard?
    Thanks!

To the best of my knowledge, she can't with just the free Reader. But she can ask you to do it for her...

  • 3 new computers at work print incomplete or blank pages

we got 3 new computers at work with windows 7.   The computers we already had have windows 7 also. We have a konica minolta fax, printer, scanner, copier that we print too. Everything the 3 computers print comes out fine, except when I log into citrix so I can log into Microsoft Outlook when I print an attachment from my email that is opened with Adobe Reader it prints incomplete and blank pages. Incomplete meaning that different parts of the document are missing. Now if I print an attachment that isn't adobe it prints fine.  I have updated, reinstalled, went from 11 to 10(which is what everyone else had), made it print as an image. I called our IT department and they are not helping. Can someone help me? This makes my job so much more difficult seeing as I am in medical records and need to print documents that are sent to me.

The last 2/3 of my 430-page PDF file are blank.  The pages are numbered at the correct position but there is no content visible.  Just got a new computer with Microsoft Wndows 7 and a new Adobe Reader XI. This same document worked fine before I changed computers.
Here is a screen shot of the first blank page.  Thre remainder of the book is the same.

  • How do I set a default page size, orientation, and printer for a particular document in Pages?

I have a simple label document in Pages which I print to my label printer. The label is 1.49 x 3.47 inches and needs to print in Landscape, and it needs to print to my Dymo label printer. How do I set up the Page Setup or Print Setup so it defaults to this document size, orientation, and printer, every time, without me having to manually enter those settings every time?

Thank you for your reply. However, I could not get Templates to work correctly for me.  Following your instructions, I opened my document, opened Page Setup, set the printer, paper size, orientation, and printed a copy to make sure it was right. Then I re-opened Page Setup to verify that the settings were still correct. Then I saved the document as a Template. Then I found my template in Pages, opened the template, and tried to print. The first thing I noticed was that the template did not remember my printer. Then I set the printer, and printed, but I found that the template also did not remember the page size or the document orientation. So, did I miss a step here? Lion 10.7.5 and Mac Mini.
