Print portfolio as ONE file

I have been using acrobat pro v.7 and I just installed the trial for v9.  I am playing with the portfolio feature and want to know if there is a way to print the contents of the portfolio as *one* file?  I have a several individual docs that i'd like to compile into one portfolio.  Some of those same docs will also be included in other portfolios.  When I print the portfolio I want to print it duplex and then have our printer staple it all together, but in order to do that it needs to print as one file, not multiple files.
If this is possible then I'm also wondering if it's possible to specify the order of the documents without changing the actual filename?
Thanks!

  • How can I print mulitple different .ai files onto one page in Illustrator CS6?

How can I print mulitple different .ai files onto one page in Illustrator CS6? I have all of the files organized by Arrange Documents>Tile All in Grid and I would like to print the files in this format so that they can all be seen at once when printed out onto one page.
Some background is that I have 16 different cad drawings that I have converted and edited in illustrator. I'd like to basically make a contact sheet with all 16 drawings so that they can be reviewed on one sheet of paper after printing. But each drawing is in it's own unique file, and I have not figured out how to put them all onto one page for printing.

You can place them (linked) into a new Illustrator file and print from there.
The original files will need pdf compatability.

  • Used to be able to print multiple page pdf files on my HP 7310 all in one and then it stopped and would only print the curent page. This is tedious for long PDF docs. I am on 10.6.8 .

Used to be ablert to print multiple page pdf files on my HP 7310 all in one printer and now I can only print the current page and therefore it takes forever printing them one by one. I am in version 10.6.8. Tried printing as image using the advanced click and that did not work either.  I have Adobe 9.0 reader installed.

I tried this earlier, and I tried it again today.  Both times it said "Software Missing!"  and "HP Software required to connect to your printer over the network could not be found on this computer."  But when I tried to install the software (AIO_CDB_Net_Full_Win_WW_130_141.exe, which I downloaded from HP's web site), it wouldn't install, as described above.  In the diagnostic utility, I clicked "skip", and it said "Connection Verified!", and "The printer is connected to the network and the services related to the network connections have been verified and reset to a normal operating state.  Everything appears to work fine at this point.  Please doa test print to verify that the issue is resolved or click Skip to move to the next step."  I clickedthe "Test Print" button, and immediately it popped up a box that said "Test Print Failed."
I tried again to install the HP software, and it installed, detected the printer, and asked me to select it.  I selected the printer, clicked "next", and it did its network diagnostics.  Then it said "Problem(s) found with your network" and "Problem(s) may exist with the network functions of your printer . . ."  I continued the installation without connecting to the printer.  Then I ran your network printer diagnostic tool again, and got the same result - "HP Software required to connect to youir printer over the network could not be found on this computer."

  • Word v.X no longer printing or creating PDF files (specific to one user)

As of yesterday I cannot print from Word (v.X 10.0) documents or create PDF files from Word documents.
I can print by logging out and using a test user ID.
I can print after a safe restart (which disables many functions).
I am still able to print and create PDF files from Pages, Firefox and other programs.
When attempting to create a PDF from a Word file through the Print dialog box, then saving as PDF, I can see the "magnifying glass" image for the PDF briefly on the desktop, then it disappears.
Apple Care Phone Support refuses to deal with Microsoft issues (even though it appears to be a print command failing within Mac OS steps of the process, and/or a Mac OS-generated and sorted plist file corrupting the process).
Microsoft no longer supports the software (i.e., any file you are now using ending in .doc is no longer supported).
Has anyone had a similar problem or an idea about what to do with likely culprit files?

Sounds like a M$ problem to me.

  • Printing portfolio folders

I create two folders within the portfolio. One contains policies requiring me to print 3 copies; the other with other policies only 2 copies.  When I select the pdfs within the folder and choose print, it only prints the first pdf.
How can I have it print/collate all of these pdfs that are within each folder?

What version of Acrobat are you using? How are you selecting the PDF files you want to print?
You should be able to print selected files (and choose your print options in the print dialog). Example, in Acrobat X open the folder, right click and choose select all. Then click the print icon. If you have multiple PDFs selected, then it should print more than just the first.

  • Can't print more than one job at a time.

I am trying to print to either a HP DesignJet 1055cm plotter or a HP LaserJet 5000N. I can't send more than one file at a time. If i don't wait until the current job starts printing, the next one won't print. For example if I sent five files one right after the other, I might get 1, 4 and 5. I don't think it's a printer problem because it happens on two different printers, and it doesn't happen when I print from my PC. Any idea what could cause this?

My work around is to put all the jobs "on hold" in the print settings or just "stop jobs" on the printer window.
Then I click on each print job in the que and let them print one at a time. This way I can at least quit the program and move onto the next thing.

  • Scanning multiple pages into one file using MAC

How do I scan multiple pages and save them into one file or document using a MacBook Pro laptop?  My printer is an HP Photosmart 7520.  When I use this printer and scan from my PC, it does allow me to scan multiple copies and save as one document by just adding pages as I scan.  When I scan with my MacBook Pro, it scans each page, however, I don't get any option or choice to save as one document.  It automatically saves each page as a separate document.

Try scanning from your Mac. Use Image Capture app in your Applications folder.
Click once on the scanner on the left side, then click on Show Details along the bottom. Along the right side you will see LOTS of options for scanning and saving.
One of those is Format, make the Format PDF.  Just below that will be a check box allowing you to scan multiple pages to one file.

  • Scanning multiple pages into one file

I am scanning several pages that need to be in one file so that I can email that file. My printer has a flatbed where you can place only one page to be scanned at a time. A friend of mine said that it should ask if I want to scan another page but it doesn't.  It simple imports it to "My scans."  There are too many pages to try to email one at a time. I need it in one file. Can anyone help?

  • Scanning multiple pages to one file

I have a C310a All in One printer/scanner.  My computer uses OS X 10.9 and all the drivers are updated.  Is there a way to scan multiple pages to one file.  I have tried the three methods mentioned in the HP bulletin for Mavericks but I can only scan one page to one file extension.

Welcome to the forums @BPGeneva ,
I understand you are looking to do a multiple page scan and save it as one file. I will do my best to help! The full driver for the C310a is not available with Mavericks. In having said that,  you can try using Image Capture to scan multi-page documents.

  • One file to multiple printers?

hi, i did post this question earlier in the Printing and Faxing area, but they suggested i post it here.. maybe someone can help me.. my post was this:
((hi, im just wondering if i can print an Indesign file normaly and set a way to make this file goes to different printers in my network to print one copy at each printer?
i have also OSX server... maybe this can be helpfull too?
if this can be done, it will be used for a newspaper that the layout guys print the same page for editors, adverts dept., spell check.. etc.
so instead of printing to one printer 5 or more copies of each file.. one print order for one copy will be made, and separate printers for each dept. will recieve the order and prints the page..
    thanx))
the guys sujjested that maybe a script can do the job.. but i know nothing about scripts.. so could it be really done?!
this is the original post, you can see the other guys posts and recomends to be done:
    http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=1828171#1828171

    thanx for the reply Cyclosaurus..
but, this can be done easily for one specific file, i
have something like 25 machines with files coming out
all the time tp be printed.. so its a long proccess
to tell every guy when finishing every file "go to
the scritp editor" and do this and that..
I can put an open handler, then you can easily drag-n-drop your files to be printed.
i thought maybe theres a way to make a new printer
for the print setup utility, that i can choose from
applications like Indesign or Photoshop and print one
copy.. then this printer can be attached to a script
This will default to one printer, which is not what you wanted.
Here is the modification with open handler.
    -- begin
    on run
set the_file to (choose file) as string
    printfile(thefile as string)
    end run
    on open these_files
    repeat with the_file in these_files
    printfile(thefile as string)
    end repeat
    end open
    on printfile(thefile)
    tell application "Printer Setup Utility"
    set current_printer to current printer
-- get all workable printer, you can selectively print to printers if you know their names
set _printers to printers whose status is idle or status is printing
    repeat with _printer in _printers
    -- set printer
    set current printer to _printer
    -- print doc
tell application "Finder" to print item the_file
delay 5 -- change this delay if needed to delay print queue
    end repeat
    -- restore default printer
    set current printer to current_printer
    end tell
    end print_file
    -- end
Save it as an application, then you can drag-n-drop multiple files.

  • How do I print more than one custom-size photo on a page in PSE 10?

I recently upgraded from Photoshop Elements 6 to Photoshop Elements 10.  I make greeting cards, and on PSE 6 I was able to print two custom-size (6-1/2” x 5”) cards on each 8-1/2” x 11” sheet of photo paper.  The option to print more than one custom-size card on a single sheet of paper is not available in PSE 10.  I want to know how I can print more than one custom-size card (or photo) on a page in PSE 10?

  • Multiple digital signatures in one file

I have a client who wants me to combine 4 different forms into one--then--require a digital signature by the same person after each independent form. So that would be 4 digital signatures total. And all identical. I'm using a different name per each field so there's no conflict.
It appears to work fine until I have it submit dynamically with a PHP script via email inbox.
When I open the PDF (having crunched the info back in from an FDF) the data is there EXCEPT the digital signatures.
Can someone point me to a tutorial?
    Best regards,
    Mare

    Hi Mare,
You cannot merge files and expect that the digital signatures will be preserved. When you sign a file you are signing all of the bytes in that file, and only that file. Once you combine files you are creating a new unsigned file. If someone were to sign the new file they are signing all of the bytes in the new file, not just some of the bytes. There is no "page level" signing in PDF files, only whole file signing.
You can however put the signed files into a Portfolio file. A Portfolio keeps the files separate. Think of a Portfolio like a file cabinet in the physical world. Just because you put different files into the file cabinet drawer, they don't merge.

  • Scaning multiple pages into one file on a 4630

Using HP 4630 printer, windows 8.1, wireless connection.
Want to scan multiple pages into one file.
Per user manual, I work from the computer not the printer.
When first page is scanned am asked if I want to save, I click yes and name file.
When I scan second page am again asked if I want to save, my file name appears, I am told it already exists and asks if I want  to keep or replace it.
Whichever one I click, only the second page is saved.
    What am I doing wrong?
Question: How do I scan mutiple pages into a single document?
    This question was solved.

I accept this solution with many thanks!  It was so obvious and I didn't see it.  The User Manual should mention this.
