Print problems in PS Elements 12

When I print a single 4.75 x 4.75" photo (for a CD cover), I have no problems.  However, if I try to print 2 copies on the same 8.5x11" sheet, the size of each photo is cut in half.  In both instances, I have elected print quality as Best/600 dpi.  Try as I may, I have been unable to print 2 copies of the same file at the correct size on one sheet of photo paper.  I have explored every setting in Elements 12, and found no answer to this problem.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Try this:
Open your picture file. In Editor, go to Image>resize>image size, and in the document size box verify that the dimensions are correct. Make note of the resolution value in px/in. Minimize the open file.
Go to File>new>blank file, enter the width and height of your paper stock, same resolution as your picture file.
This will be your canvas.
Drag the picture from the Project bin up into the work area two times. You should have 3 layers visible in the layers palette.
With the move tool, position each copy of the picture, one layer at a time. If you need to resize the picture, use the corner handles of the bounding box.
Trim away excess with scissors.
Another way to go about this is to use a pre-made template. You can download one free from Avery. These work well in Word. If you decide to go this route, insert the picture file that you enhanced in PSE.

  • Printing problems using Photoshop Elements 6

I have been using Photoshop Elements 6 for several years and am currently having printing problems, e.g., some prints are too light, some are too saturated, or too dark...they just don't look like the screen which looks pretty good.  I use Spyder 3 Pro to calibrate my monitor.  Does anyone know of any websites that address these type of problems.  Looking for some advice, tips, etc.
    Thanks.

Does this happen only in PSE6 or in other programs that can print graphics, like Acrobat or Word or PowerPoint?
I only ask because my LexMark started to vary color saturation shortly before the print head dumped an entire cartridge onto one page and it gave up the ghost.
It wasn't just pictures. Word documents would go from light to dark. Graphics (business cards, labels) would print bright and then dim on the same page.

  • Printing problems from Photoshop Elements to Epson XP-800

I cannot print photogrpaic images with my desktop MAC (OS X10.8.4) from Photoshop Elements 9.0 to my new Epson XP-800 printer. Printing is not a problem with  Word text or images from iPhoto- it is only with PSE that there is a problem.  The problem persists even if I try using a cabled connection rather than WiFi.  I have ensured latest software from Epson has been downloaded.  This problem did not occur when using the same system with the previous printer (Epson Photo Stylus 1290).
Any suggestions for solving this rather than just a workaround of moving the edited PSE image back to iPhoto & printing from there (which admittedly does work but shouldn't be necessary).
    Grateful for any help.

  • Problem with Photoshop Elements Printing

I have been using Photoshop Elements for a couple of years now and know it pretty well.  Today while attempting to print, a strange problem came up:  After going through the protocol to make a print, just before the image prints PE does a very fast auto correction that basically ruins all the color correction I have made on the image.  How do I disable this function?

Hi and thanks for your reply. I checked the settings under "Print", "More Options", then "Color Management" and it only has "Print Space", none of the three options that you said I should have.  Am I looking in the wrong place?

Check your color management by clicking More Options in the print dialog There are basically three options:1) Printer Manages Color2) Elements Manages color3) No color Management Make sure everything is consistent e.g. if you choose Elements manages color make sure color management is switched off in the print driver.

  • Printing Problems with Elements 8.0 and EXIF time data

I've been using Premiere Elements 8.0 in Windows XP Professional for a couple of years with no problems. I shoot mostly in JPEG. I've always imported my images using a card reader (the same one). About a year ago suddenly I ran into printing issues. When I imported my images and tried to print them Elements crashed just at the point where it should begin the actual printing.  By chance I discovered that if I adjusted the time EXIF on the images in Elements by either hours or days, back or forward and adjusted them back to the original time/date the problem disappeared. If I had shot in RAW and edited these images there were no problems with the resultant JPEG.
I noted the discussions about Elements changing the time in the EXIF and checked for this but this hadn't happened. The EXIF in camera and in Elements were the same. I also checked this against the time settigs of the camera and they were the same. I shoot with a Nikon D300.
I backed up my images and did a complete re-format of my computer so that it was back to its ex-factory settings, re-installed Elements, restored my catalog from the backup and the problem still arose. I'm reluctant to upgrade to Elements 10 until I (hopefully) I find out  if (a) anyone else has the same problem; and (b) if anyone who had it has fixed it.
Any ideas would be very welcome.

    Miceal,
I am confused. Do you mean Photoshop Elements? Premiere Elements does not have a Print function. On can Export/Share, but not Print. For Photoshop Elements, you will want the PSE Forum.
    Good luck,

  • Printing Problems with Elements 11

I have just started with Elements 11. At first it printed ok. but when I tried to set it up with Elements to control the printer ( Epson SX400 ) I keep getting a message saying that ICC Profile is invalid, and the program will not let me print at all. My computer O/S is Windows 7, 64 bit.  the Printer driver is one supplied by Epson EU to run the O/S.
I have tried returning to Printer controls settings, this has not worked. I have tried to print on a different printer (Brother HL-2250DN Laser Printer) this will not print either.
I have tried to print on my old Serif PhotoPlus program this is OK. So the problem is in my settings for Elements 11,
Do I Need to Reinstall the programme
    Andy H

I would explain you the steps you need to follow if you are giving control to Photoshop Elements to manages color.
Step 1- Select your printer and then Click More Options at the bottom left of the Print window.
Step 2- No click on Color Management tab.
Step 3- Now from "Color Handling" drop down select Photoshop Elements Manages color. As you select this option "Printer Profile" drop down will become enable.
Step 4- If Image Space is sRGB then select sRGB profile from Printer Profile drop down else select Adobe RGB.
Step 5- Click On Printer Preferences button. It will open your printer's preferences dialog.
step 6- Now click on "Main" tab and then click Advanced button.
step 7- Now under "Color Management" section please select No Color Management here.
step 8- Click OK and come back to main Print dialog of Photoshop Elements.  Now click Print.
Note -If you choose Photoshop Elements manages color, it is very important that you disable color management in your printer driver.Letting the application and the printer driver simultaneously manage colors during printing results in unpredictable color.
Try with above written steps I hope it would help.
    Cheers !!!

  • Are there any updates to Elements 13 printer problems

I am having printer problems to my wide format Epson with Elements 13. I saw in the community forums that other people are having the same problem with other printers.

    Hi ..
Not for a Mac running Tiger v10.4.11.

  • Printing problem Elements 11

When printing in Orgnizer in Elements 11 the printout is as selected, but in Editor the image in Portrait format is always printed out smaller than selected e.g  15 x 10 cm image prints out as 10 x 9 cm.  There is no 'Print Preview' facility available

    Thanks for your info.
All parameters were correctly set i.e. Image size 15 x 10 cm, paper size
A4, printer to portrait mode, Center Image deselected and image
positioned on the canvas . Latest printer driver installed recently.
I have no problem with printing in  Organizer but do not have

  • Upgrade from Elements 7 to Elements 11 poses printing problems

I upgraded from Elements 7 to Elements 11 and now when I print a photo using Elements 11 it is extremely dark (almost black).  I am using an Epson R1900 Photo printer and the same settings for printing in both Elements 7 and 11 and can't figure out why the pictures are too dark in Elements 11.  Can anyone help with this?

    Thanks for the ideas:
Yes, printing in the OS Print program (Windows 8) does produce better
photos than directly through Elements 11.  Also, printing from the Elements
Organizer produces the better photos I am looking for and can obtain from the
Editor in Elements 7.  I still wonder why the Elements 11 Editor produces
almost black pictures?  But at least I have some alternatives for printing
better photos after I have used the Editor and saved the corrected photo.

  • My "fix" to print problems in LR (using MS XP)

Having had the same problems printing from LR as many others are complaining about, I thought that I might give my 2 cents to what I did to solve (?) the problem. I have to run with current setting in a while to be convinced that it is not just an intermittent fix though ;-)
My problem when printing from LR was that the print came out much too Cyan-Green and somewhat dark when color management where handled by LR. When the same photo was exported to PS Elements (PSE) in Tiff with the Pro-photo color profile embedded, adjustments from LR, and printed using the same driver setting and color management, the print came out fine.
I must mention that I have had fine printout in previous LR versions but I'm not sure when the problem started. But at least from LR version 1.3, 1.3.1 I have had problems printing a proper print.
As I'm not 100% sure what caused the fix, I don't want to leave much info un-documented, so I start by describing my system etc.:
    - Athlon 64 3500+ with 2 GB RAM
    - Lacie 119 LCD monitor (calibrated with a ColorVision Spyder 2)
    - Epson Stylus Photo 890 printer; an old (6-7 years) 6 color dye-sub printer, but it can still produce very good prints. (It is BTW, the A4 printer version of Epson 1290).
    - Microsoft XP service pack 2
    - Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.3.1.
    - Adobe Photoshop Elements 5
    - Latest Epson 890 printer drivers ver. 5.21/P (from 2004)
    - ICC profiles for various Epson printer paper
    - Paper used: Ilford Printasia Photo Glossy Paper (but I have tried Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper as well with same results)
    I used following setting:
    - In printer driver: "No color management" was selected
    - LR and PSE color management; printer profile: Epson Stylus Photo 890 Premium Glossy Photo Paper, Rendering Intent: Perceptual
    . LR Print sharpening: High
    - LR Print resolution: 360ppi
When the photo was opened in PSE and I had printed a small print with above mentioned printer driver/color management settings. The print looked good, but with a little magenta color cast, so I thought that if I used a different printer profile this might help (I have no ICC profile for the Ilford paper). So I chose the "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" instead and printed again, and this time the photo looked as it did on my calibrated monitor. I have to admit I was a bit delighted even though it was from printed from PSE and not from LR, but seeing that color management worked in other applications was a relief.
In PSE, I also I tried changing to a different Rendering Intent before changing printer profile, but with no success.
Another thing that helped further was to change Media Type in printer driver from "Premium Glossy Photo Paper" to "Photo Paper".
After the print success in PSE I went back to LR and changed the Printer Profile to "Epson Stylus Photo 890 Photo Paper" (still with "No color management" and "Photo Paper" selected in printer driver) and printed the photo again. Now the photo looked as good as it did in PSE (!!!???).
Now I have made a few printer preset in LR for various print sizes, and the prints look fantastic. Every time! Do I have to mention that I am a happy guy ? :-)
BTW, remember that a printer preset also saves the printer driver settings. Forgetting this can easily cause some unexpected results.
The only thing is that, I still do not know what fixed the problem, and I am a bit worried that the problem might come back again. Maybe the print related changes made in PSE and the following selection of the same settings in LR did - somehow - "synchronize" LR to a proper color management. Sounds weird, but if it works...
I hope this long explanation was useful to - at least - some of you, who experience printer problems in LR. LR is a fantastic application, and I enjoy using it, but the printer problems has really been frustrating.
    Good luck!
    /Per

Little unclear about the border thing- you say it prints with a too wide border, but also say:
When I print the image with this set up, it still is printed without a border.
It's a factor of your printer, though; some can never print without a margin around all sides; this can be a border, or cut off. Good news, though; you can have a 5 x 7 borderless, or with any size border you wish if you print on larger paper, and trim to taste.

  • Printing problem linked to EXIF time data for JPEG images.

For some years I have been using Photoshop Elements 8.0 with no problems of any kind. My computer runs on XP Professional with a system comfortably in excess of the minimum requirements to run Elements 8.0. I load my images into Elements from a card reader which is the same one since I got this version of Elements. I shoot mostly in JPEG with a Nikon D300. I print to one of 2 Epson printers, an SX100 and a PX700W. I don't use the wireless feature of the PX700W, connecting it via USB.
About a year ago I suddenly began to experience printing problems. If I tried to print an image Elements crashed just at the point where printing would begin. By trial & error I discovered that if I adjusted the time in the EXIF data of the image in Elements, whether by advancing or retarding it by hours or days and then adjusted it back to the original time I had no problems printing that image thereafter.
I also discoveredc that where I had shot in RAW I could print direct from the RAW image in Elements or from the JPEG I saved from an edited in RAW and had no problems.
I saw the forum discussions about the issues about the date/time in EXIF having been changed following the import into Elements. For those images I still had on my memory cards I checked the EXIF data in Elements and compared it what was on the image on the card. They were the same. I also checked the time zone and time settings of the camera and they were correct.
I backed up my catalog, re-formatted the computer to bring it back to its ex-factoy status, re-installed Elements and restored my catalog. I imported new images, tried to print them and the problem was still there.
Before I might upgrade to Photoshop Elements 10 I'm hoping someone else may tell me they have had the same problem and, hopefully, be able to tell me how they fixed it. I know the workaround will bypass the problem but it really annoys me that it suddenly appeared and I seem to be stuck with it. I'm also concerned that, given I totally re-formatted my computer but the problem  is still with me, that the problem may be imbedded in my catalog and simply gets backed up to,\and restored from,  my backup.
I'd be grateful for any ideas.

    Hi Miceal,
Though I'm not sure, but see if Catalog repair and optimize helps resolve the issue.
For doing this, click File >> Catalog and selec your catalog and then click "repair' button.
Tick the checkbox for rebuilding indices in the repair workflow.
Now perform the optimize operation on the catalog similarly.
Let me know if that helps.
    Thanks

  • Lightroom printing problem Epson R1800, XP SP2, colors dark

I'm having no success with printing from Lightroom 1.3.1, with a quite new Epson R1800, on an IBM R51 with Windows XP SP2.
Printing is fine, using Epson's Easy Photo Print, and PhotoShop Elements 2.0. In fact, the results with Epson's Easy Photo Print and Elements 2.0 are almost identical.
I played with ICM on, off, downloaded new Epson icc profiles for glossy paper, loaded new cartridges, cleaned nozzles, etc.
And I searched this users forum and the general web. Sounds like printing problems with Lightroom is pretty normal.
Any other clues or hints to solve the problem? Seems pretty stupid that Lightroom can't be used to print.
    ...Vick

    Vick,
I'm new to printing on my Epson 1800 and am sure others know more than I do, but this might be a start since I had the same problem printing from Photoshop CS3 on a R1800 and R200. I think the problem is in the printer properties/printer dialog setup and since the problem is the same maybe the solution is also the same.
In Lightroom click File - Print Settings or, to get to the same place, click File - Print and click the Page Setup or Print Settings or Print button. Whichever, it takes you to the print setup for the 1800. Click Properties which takes you to the Epson Stylus Photo 1800 Properties window. In the bottom right, click Advanced button. A "note" warning about making changes pops up. Click continue. Under the Main tab, color management make sure ICM is NOT selected. I have "Color Controls" selected. Click OK (twice I think) to get back to the Lightroom print window. This corrected the dark colors problem I was having. When printing in PS3 it asks, "Did you enable color management in the printer dialog?" Somewhere else I found the suggestion to disable ICM color management when printing from PS3. So much to know!! Hope this helps.

  • Airport Extreme Printing Problem with HP Deskjet.

Hello ... I wonder if any helpful folks can assist me with my printing problem? I am using Tiger on a new Intel imac with a HP Deskjet 960C. This printer is listed as having the latest drivers included within Tiger and works perfectly when connected via USB so my problem I guess is not with the software....I have disconnected everything and plugged everything back together again. I also deleted the printer from the printer list within the Printer Setup Utility application.... The imac recognisies the printer and upon pressing the print button everything feels as though its just going to work. The blue barber shop scroll appears but the printer fails to kick into gear and I get the big red exclamation mark appearing in the status box .... I would really love to try and sort this annoying error ... Any ideas? Thanks. Book G4   Mac OS X (10.4.4)

Hello jds17. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
Unfortunately, not all USB printers are compatible with AirPort base stations.
Take a look at one of these iFelix Unofficial AirPort Printer Compatibility links, depending on which AirPort base station you have:
o 802.11g AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or AirPort Express Base Station (AX)
o 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBSn)
If your printer isn't listed, it doesn't necessarily mean it won't work, but simply that it has not been verified. iFelix also provides the following workaround for printers not on the list that would certainly be worth a try.
Also, you may find the following Apple article helpful.
