  • Adobe Form print/email - Attach IXOS .tif images via string table param?

I am attempting to create an Adobe Form print/e-mail output for Invoices, with zero, one or many attached pages from the IXOS archive.  (TIFF files.)  So far I have managed to attach exactly one IXOS image.  Now I need to make the number of attached images dynamic.
    This is in Netweaver 7.0 / ECC 6.0 ehp 3 / LiveCycle Designer 8.1.
My ABAP driver program is a copy of SD_INVOICE_PRINT01.  In pseudocode, I've added:
Logic to identify correct IXOS image.
Logic to extract IXOS image to application server's file system.
OPEN DATASET image.tif FOR INPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    READ DATASET image.tif INTO xstring.
CALL FUNCTION 'SSFC_BASE64_ENCODE' EXPORTING xstring IMPORTING string.
    APPEND string TO string_table.
    CALL FUNCTION form_name EXPORTING attachments = string_table.
The form interface is a copy of INVOICE_INTERFACE (ABAP dictionary-based.)  I've added import param. ATTACHMENTS type STRING_TABLE.
In the form's context tab, interface import param. ATTACHMENTS was dragged & dropped onto the context pane, yielding:
    - Table ATTACHMENTS
    -- Structure DATA
    --- Field ITEM.
In Adobe LiveCycle Designer 8.1, I *can* create an image field with binding ATTACHMENTS.DATA[1].ITEM - that prints the TIFF from IXOS just fine.
What *does not* work is placing ATTACHMENTS on the form as a table of image fields.  I've tried several combinations - most look like this:
    - Table or Subform ATTACHMENTS, binding ATTACHMENTS, repeat for each data item max = 1.
-- Row or Subform DATA, binding DATA[*], repeat for each data item min = 1.
--- Image field ITEM, binding ITEM.
The result is consistently one blank page.  No more, no less.
    Can anyone help?

    Hello,
I have no experience regarding the table of pictures, but you could try a workaround if you don´t insist of displaying the images. You could attach the pictures as attachments (you know, the little attachments icon on the left in your Reader). The ABAP coding for this can be found in SE38 FP_* and when you check the descriptions you should be able to find the one working with the attachments.
Would be better than nothing I guess,

  • Reverse printing a window (Mirror image) in smartforms/scripts

    Hi,
Is it posible to do a reverse print of a particular window(Mirror Image) in smartform/script output?
    Scenario:
I have 3 windows in the smartforms.
    Window1
    Window2
    Window3
    I want to print Window1 & Window3 normally & Window2 upside down like a mirror image.
    Regards,
    Sree

    Hi friend,
One suggestion if you are printing your company logo or some thing like that in the window2 then you can invert the image using paint and then again upload it.
Else if its some sort of text like that then you can rotate it using some functions like '^FWR' like that there are functions to rotate the text.
Or else you can handle this using or setting the printer settings but i think its not possible to change the settings for only one page.
See the Link : [Printing vertical text in Smartform|Printing vertical text in Smartform;.
In this the post by Julie LV will be helpful to you.
I think this will solve your issue if you face any queries please revert back to me i will help you.

I am using a MacBook Pro.  I simply cannot find a way to attach images adjusted in Lightroom as attachments and/or without massive degradation in quality.  I follow the LR attach email process as specified by LR, the photos appear in the email seemingly embedded and the recipients of the email cannot save the attachment.

You are welcome.  Just finished a chat session with an Apple support rep and confirmed the matte option no longer available.  Seems lots has changed since I bought my 17” 19 months back:).  They did say that there were after market screen films available from places like amazon
Have never used anything like that though.  My wife has a 2008 MBP 15” with gloss and I can say it is a nice screen finish, you just have to be careful of lighting from behind you.  All my iMacs were glossy and I did learn to compensate for the added brilliance the screen brought to the photos.  The new soft proofing feature of LR5 seems to better estimate the level of brightness of the printed work, compared to past versions of the s/ware.
In any case, in my opinion you really can’t go wrong with the apple product.  I bought my first iMac in mid 1999 and have never looked back.  I donated that machine to a pre-school in 2008, it was running OSX version 2 or 3 I think.  I did run Photoshop 7.0 on an IBM laptop for a time (windows XP).  I think I had one of the very first versions of Adobe Camera Raw on that machine.  I digress, sorry.
The chat representative did confirm that the 17” is out of production and I’m guessing Apple found the market for the big laptop just wasn’t there.  They did mention that 17” MBP’s show up as “certified refurbished” units from time to time.  Suggest you might explore that option with a local Apple store in the UK, assuming  Apple has store front operations off this continent of course.
Please feel free to contact me with further questions if you wish.
    Take care, Gordy

Can I print a mirror image of something using the printer software - or do i need to have other software installed on my computer to do this?

    HI Sharmoser,
Your printer doesn't support regular mirror image printing. You may can find a 3rd party software that could help you accomplish this but not from the HP software.
Here is a link to your printers manual.

  • Color printing with high resolution in smartforms

    Hello colleagues...
I need to print color images with True-color resolution, but in Form Graphics Administrator ( transaction SE78 ) I can only upload pictures with extension TIFF and BMP, and with resolution 24-bit maximum.
With this resolution, the quality of colors will not be optimal because is distorted from original.
This printing we need for labels that have pantone code of colors, that should not be changed to any similar tones.
Does anybody knows how can I print true color pics with smartforms without reducing image quality?
Or exist any other tool in SAP for printing with high quality?
    thanks in advance,
    Ibrahim Andres.

You can upload TrueColor 24 bit Bitmaps into SE78, but SE78 converts them to 256 color images, that's why you see reduces quality when the image is printed. I think it's not possible to print images higher than 256 colors using existing smartform technology.

  • How do you change the Print Products Store from USA to UK like you can do in IPhoto?

How do you change the Print Products Store from USA to UK like you can do in IPhoto?

Please keep in mind that Aperture is not an enhanced iPhoto, it is a different application with a different philosophy and a different intended audience. If you approach it with that in mind you will have a lot less frustration as you learn Aperture.
Aperture adds a layer of complexity that is not needed by many.  iPhoto is a very powerful application and fits the needs of many amateur photographers.
As for your original issue, as I said I am surprised that iPhoto allows you do switch countries like that and am not surprised that Aperture doesn't. If this is something you really need to do working in Aperture but using iPhoto to order the prints is a good work around and will not be all that difficult to do once you get the hang of it.
As for your new question, the books in iPhoto and Aperture are different enough that the code that created the book in iPhoto wouldn't work in Aperture. What happens when you import an iPhoto library into Aperture is that the images in the book are combined into an album in Aperture with the same name as the iPhoto book. You will need to re-create the book in Aperture uaing the images in this album.
Hope this helps, post back if you have anymore questions.

  • Print As Attachment in Outlook using Reader 8

We just upgraded to Reader 8.1.2. Now, when we are in Outlook and want to print an email with a .pdf attachment, file association doesn't appear to work. We first get a message box asking us for the appropriate program to open the .pdf. If you click Reader 8, it will open the document in Reader, but will not print. We checked the file associations on the server and all .pdf files are set to open with Reader 8. When we had Reader 7 and went to print an email with an attachment, Reader 7 would open and immediately print the attachment.
Does anyone know if this is a bug with Reader 8.1.2 or if there is a fix for it?
    Thanks

The problem?  It's actually pretty simple: Microsoft implemented their mail processing in a way that has greatly assisted folks using Microsoft products and Microsoft platforms, and established an "export" mechanism when communicating via mail in heterogeneous computing environments.  Microsoft tools including Microsoft Exchange Server and their systems running Microsoft Windows are a good and very capable mail environment system, with great scale and very well integrated mail, calendar and related processing, and some exceedingly useful tools including SharePoint that have no real analog with OS X, Unix or Linux systems.   But these tools don't necessarily interoperate entirely nicely in heterogeneous environments; with non-Microsoft tools and platforms.
The winmail.dat mechanism is a part of the whole Microsoft infrastructure, and particularly when the information is being "exported" out from the Microsoft environment, and into a non-Windows and non-Exchange environment.  The determinate here involves the settings chosen by the various senders.  (Possibly also by the defaults chosen by the administrator of the Exchange Server(s) involved, but I haven't checked that.)
Here's the Microsoft knowledge base article that describes the specificss of the winmail.dat file.
There are tools around to read the TNEF-format winmail.dat files on OS X and other platforms, including TNEF's enough for OS X, and likely various other tools.   Or get your senders to reconfigure their settings for you when they're sending messages to you, as described in the Microsoft KB article.

  • Is it possible to attach image with specific size?

    Hi,
My company is very interested in Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions, as it suits most of our requirements. However, we want to know more about it.
When our users submit their forms, they need to attach an image for submission as well. The image we need is fixed size, e.g. 800x600 pixels. Can Adobe LiveCycle Reader Extensions define the requirements of the attachment/image, i.e. if the user submit a 640x480 image, the acrobat reader will return an error so that the image with incorrect format won't be able to submit?

I don't think that LiveCycle Reader Extensions is the product that you need to accomplish this.
Can you give a bit more details of what you are trying to accomplish?

  • When I select 'Print as an Image' from Print-Advanced, it hold the setting after I exit the application. Is there a way to reset this in Adobe Reader XI?

    Adobe Reader 11.0.09

This is not the case with Acrobat Professional so it should behave the same way on Reader as a setting like this should be held as long as the application is open, not permanently as it's a workaround when you have issues printing the PDF normally.  In a business with thousands of different PDF's and thousands of users, sometimes you have to use 'Print as an Image' but it's a workaround for a very small number of PDF's and it's hard to get users to remember to uncheck it the next time they go use Reader.  I would say this behavior should be changed but not sure how I can let someone at Adobe know as the forums is the only contact location I can find for the Reader product online.

  • Adobe Employees: View Tools Print Production Convert Colors

Totally don't get your View> Tools> Print Production> Convert Colors dialog.
I would expect that if it was working that all Tagged files (left column) would display correctly.
But in every test it appears all that happens is my profiles are stripped.
Can you possibly let me know what I may be missing as no one else seems to be able to?
Here is my control .pdf download:
    gballard.net/photoshop/pdi_download/PDI_Color_Profile_Test.pdf
Here is how it displays Acrobat Pro 10.1.5 (as expected):
Left column is Taggged as noted (displays proper as expected).
Right column is Untaggged as noted (displays unmanaged).

i had a revelation slugging this out:
Acrobat Print Production> Convert Colors behaves nothing like i expected (accurately transforming Tagged source colors to a Destination profile)
i am still interested if this is possible, but this is what i believe is happening (and it is easily proven in Photoshop on the monitor)
During Acrobat's "Convert Colors" process (using my conversion settings):
Acrobat IGNORES the profiles embedded in my RGB images.
Acrobat "Assumes" its Working RGB profile (on all Tagged/Untagged images) and then
Acrobat "Converts" everything to the Destination profile and embeds that profile.
Here are my Acrobat Color Settings (Working RGB is ProPhoto RGB):
Here is how those settings display my original .pdf:
Note: This is totally predictable and how Photoshop displays Tagged and Untagged color (Photoshop properly "Converts" or transforms Tagged color to the monitor profile; and Photoshop, like Acrobat, "Assumes" its Working space on Untagged colors).  That means the left column containing all Tagged images are displaying the same as Photoshop, and the right column of Untagged images are each uniquely different.  In fact, the Untagged ProPhoto RGB is the only Untagged image displaying proper because Acrobat made the proper Assumption.
Here are my Acrobat Convert Colors settings (my best guess for a simple Source> Destination conversion):
Here is the result using the above Working RGB and Convert Colors settings:
    Note: This is crystal clear.
To prove it in Photoshop one would merely have to open each of the original 10 files and Assign ProPhoto RGB to each file, then Convert each one of them to WhackedRGB (and this is exactly what I would expect to see).
    And here's the proof:
I dragged the Converted .pdf into Photoshop and "Used the embedded Profile" (Whacked RGB) to open the ProPhotoRGB image -- as you can see -- Acrobat made a proper conversion to Whacked RGB, correctly embedded the Destination profile, and is displaying it proper.
i am still really interested if Acrobat is capable of properly Converting multiple Tagged elements to a single tagged Destination profile -- i.e., my five tagged images in the left column display properly (like Photoshop displays them)...
PS: I did the exact same series of tests/screenshots using WhackedRGB as my Acrobat Working RGB -- the results were as predicted (Whacked RGB was the only source space that properly converted).

  • Images in Smartforms

    Hi all ,
I have to display a image in smartforms. I have the image in Xstring format . How can I show that in SMARTFORMS.
I dont have the BMP images stored in STXBITMAPS  table. I have Xstring Content in custom table. Pls help me to resolve this.
      Thanks in advance.
    Thanks.
    Rupachandran G

As per my knowledge, the logos to be displayed in smartforms must be uploaded to SE78 and then used through Graphics node. The XSTRING images stored in custom tables can be used directly, if we are using Adobe forms.
If you want it for smartforms, it can be done by dynamically uploading the logo to se78 and deleting it, once the smartform is printed or displayed.
    1. Create a graphic window in Smartforms and use a logo name with it's attributes.
    2. In the print program, you can pick the required XSTRING image from custom database table based on your key fields and logic.Convert the XSTRING to binary using FM SCMS_XSTRING_TO_BINARY and upload the binary content to SE78 calling a new subroutine copied from the subroutine  import_bitmap_bds in program saplstxbitmaps. In the copied subroutine the GUI_UPLOAD needs to be removed and our binary content can be directly used. In the parameters of the subroutine, the same logo name needs to be mentioned, which has been used in smartforms.
    3. Once the smartform is called, then the particular image uploaded can be deleted using FM 'SAPSCRIPT_DELETE_GRAPHIC_BDS' .
Check a similar thread for sample code. Here a code has been given to upload a XSTRING content to SE78 and creating a PDF for it.
