Print Quality Not Great From iBook

I have an Epson DX4800.
If I print directly from my digital cameras memory card the quality of the print is amazing!! .... But if i want to print from my iBook using PhotoshopCS I'm not asked what quality I would like the print. It just prints out at a normal/default quality and speed.
How do I get the controll to print amazing photo's and fast text?
I also have this exact same problem when i connect my HP DeskJet printer to the iBook >> i end up printing from my PC which is not exactly nice to use
To note: I have installeld all drivers & updates for the Epson Printer.

ahh - it's all okay now... right infront of my face!
there's a pull down tab in the box that apears after you click print.
In that section you can change print qualities etc...

Print quality not good

We just bought an OfficeJet Pro 8000 printer. When printing excel files, the lines in excel are crooked when printing in "normal" print quality. If we print in "best" the lines are not crooked.

Hi - Are you seeing the same print quality issues on plain paper or photo paper?
First thing you might try is chainging paper type from Automatic (if that is the current setting) to inkjet paper or one of the other options to see if that makes an improvement.
Second, are the labels specifically made for inkjets? Labels specifically made for inkjets typically have a coating that helps provide better PQ and more vibrant colors. If you're only seeing the problem on the labels and not on plain paper or photo paper, I'd recommend trying labels that specifically say they're made for inkjets and see if that makes a difference.

Hi,
change access method from berkely to F or G . if you are intrested in Frontend printing , you need not give the IP address of the printer. __default will select the default printer of the Workstation from which GUI is operated.

Printed colors not correct from Preview

Hi All,
I'm a pro photographer with a good understanding of color profiles and calibration. My G5 system is fully color calibrated from monitors (Apple Cinema displays) through to printer and I get great color reproduction on screen and when printing from Photoshop.
On-screen colors in Preview look identical to other apps, but when I try to print from Preview the colors are all wrong. I've never used Colorsync, so anything in there is set at default. When I print from Photoshop I use one of my custom printer profiles, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere in Preview to use these when printing.
How do I get Preview to print colors that match my screen?? I think Colorsync may be involved somewhere but don't know how to use it.
Any help is much appreciated!

You didn't make it clear what profile you are using. Two profiles are necessary for colour management of printing - a monitor profile, and a printer/paper profile from the printer manufacturer or the paper supplier.
It is also necessary to ensure that all colour management in the printer driver is disabled.

HT5557 Printing from iBooks on a Wireless HP Printer

I'm trying to print a PDF doc from iBooks via my wireless HP Officejet. I have never done this but I'm getting an error "No AirPrint Printers Found" Can anyone tell me what this means? The Wireless feature is ON on the printer....

Not all HP printers support AirPrint. If you're does, there are some troubleshooting suggestions toward the bottom of the page.

I can print a test page from my Mac to my HP Officejet Pro 8600 but nothing else will print

Hi - I just recently had a hard drive crash and had to revert to an old Time Machine backup on my new hard drive to get my Mac back. Since getting back up and running I have been unable to get my Officejet Pro 8600 back online. My computer is wired to the wireless router but the printer is running wireless. My computer can see the printer just fine and I can even print a "Print Quality Diagnostic" report from my Mac to the printer from the HP utility. But nothing else will print. The firmware is up to date. I have tried resetting the printing system multiple times, rebooting the machine, etc... Nothing works. Any help would be appreciated.
If it helps, we were using a different printer the last time the time machine was backed up, so when we used that backup the old printer was showing, but I reset the printing system, so it shouldn't matter.

Welcome to the HP Support Forums! I see your hard drive recently crashed and now you are not longer able to print to your HP Officejet Pro 8600. I see you have reset the printing system with no success. Let's try a different approach:
Scrub/ Uninstall
• Open the Applications folder > HP or Hewlett Packard folder > HP Uninstaller
• Click continue, click on one of the printers in the list.
• * Only do this step if you do not have any other HP Printers. Hold down Control, Option and Command, While holding the three buttons down,
• Click uninstall.
Reset Printing System
1. Click the Apple icon ( ), and then click System Preferences.
2. In the Hardware section, click Print & Fax/Scan. The Print & Fax/Scan dialog box opens.
3. Right-click (or Ctrl +click) in the left panel, and then click Reset printing system…
4. Click OK to confirm the reset.
5. Type the correct Name and Password.
6. Click OK to reset the printing system. The Print & Fax dialog box shows no printer selected
Note: This will remove all printers in the print and Fax/Scan, any printer removed can be re-added later by clicking the plus (+) symbol..
Repair Disk Permissions
1.On the Dock, click Applications, and then click Utilities.
2.Double-click Disk Utility.
3.Highlight your hard drive/partition on the left (by default this is "Macintosh HD").
4.Click the Repair Disk Permissions button at the bottom of the window.
5.Once the repair is complete, restart the computer.
Restart the printer. Now you can download and install the printer software and install it. Click on the link below to begin the download and follow the on screen instructions:

New router, printer does not work

A new wireless internet router and modem was installed yesterday. My printer does not respond from my MacBook Pro or my iPad. I followed all troubleshooting advice on HP and Apple websites. No luck. Apple support today suggested that my printer may need additional informatin which I cannot change. The Network ConfigurationCheck was perfect except for address changes and one other which may be significant. URLs for embedded web servers changed from http:/HP618550 to http://dhcppc2.
The Wireless Network Test Results were perfect. My computers acess the internet also without problems. Apple had me put a USB cable between the MacBook and the printer. Then the printer worked just fine. He thought (not being a printer guru) that perhaps the communication between the router and printer was the problem. Hence I come to this site. I have followed all HP site troubleshooting advice and met each criteria. HELP?

After reading this through again, I am wondering if the router is unable to support Bonjour properly. Bonjour is the discovery service through which your Mac finds your printer on your network.

If we can't get this resolved a for-sure, kill-it-dead solution is to get a normal, standard router (Linksys or Netgear) and put it in line with your ZyXel, disabling its wireless. I can help if you want to go this way. A good standard router would be $40 and you would be done.

If you have an AirPrint compatible printer, you can use AirPrint which is built into the iOS. If you printer is on this list it will work with AirPrint.

I also had this question, and spent time puzzling over it. But here's the answer:
Open the relevant iBook
Click the icon that looks like a 3 line bullett list
Click on Notes
Click on the icon in the top right hand side that looks like a page with an up arrow pointing out of it.
Choose Edit Notes
Select the notes or highlights that you want printing (a tick appears in the circular radio button)
Click SHARE
Choose either Mail or Print
Voila

What Julianne said at first about re-linking made perfect sense and I followed it easily, had actually already been there. But in my situation now, it didn't have any effect. The directory of folders which had already been added were still just as they were, and the outstanding balance are not in the desired position. And the folders which had been brought in earlier today when I clicked "synchronize folder", were still missing all the metadata.
Maybe this means I need to start over, and I'm fine about doing that that, but I don't know what it takes to accomplish that. I'm concerned now that any changes I make out of guesswork could only make the problem harder to resolve. It just feels to me like something I did at the beginning just wasn't right, and now it's a tangle.
Can you advise?

Print quality from network printer

poor print quality from HP wireless pc, Windows 7 64-bit, to wired network printer (Epson 500 all in one). Print Quality from desktop pc is great.

Welcome to Epson Support Be sure you have full cartridges and you are not using a Draft or low quality print setting.

HP Photosmart 5520 print quality issues - Not printing black

Hi,
I bought a HP 5520 printer. I used it once and printed less than 10 photos and it was great the quality was superb.
I went to use it for the second time and the print quality was terrible. There is no problem with the printer responding to comannds it tries to print just it is awful quality.
I used the trouble shooting guide that HP have posted on line. I went through every step multiple times - I am using the correct paper, Genuine HP cartridges.
I got to the step where you run the Print Quality Diagnostic Report and there is NO Black present, Yellow is faint and the other colours have horizontal streaks.
I ran multiple print head cleans and no change.
I bought brand new HP print cartridges and still no change also ran multiple print head cleans and Print Quality Diagnostic Reports but still the same.
I tried to phone HP technical support but as I am at work just now and not with the printer they would not put me through to a technician
They told me to try and get an online Chat with a technician - well a few attempts and hours later still no response from them
Has anybody got any help on this issues please?

Yes it is in Warranty. It is virtually brand new.
After I last posted I got through to the online chat support and was sent an email with options to 'troubleshoot' which I had already done with no success.
I was also given a link to try to update the printer firmware - which I will try when I get home from work.
I will see if that makes any difference but am sceptical as the printer worked fine the first time round but hasn't worked since and nothing has changed on it.

Print quality poor when exporting tiff from Ai

I recently sent an Illustrator file to FedEx Office to be printed and it just didn't look great. What do I need to fix (other than getting a real printing company! ) in order to get a higher print quality?
This is what I did:
Created a file in Illustrator then exported it as a tiff. (I needed it cropped and didn't like what I got by cropping it using the Pathfinder steps/options.)
Placed the tiff file in a new Illustrator file.
Printed it as a pdf.
The pdf version of my illustration was horrid, so I had them print it from the Illustrator file. It was considerably better, but still had diagonal stripes (gradient) and vertical stripes (printing).
How can I remedy this problem?

Clipping Mask
Draw a closed path over the objects you want to maswk or crop, in this case probably a rectangle using the rectangle tool.
then select all the objects and the shape to be used as a mask.
then go to Object>Clipping Mask>Make
