Print report with continous paper by a thermal printer

I am trying to design a report (using Crystal Reports for VS2010) for a receipt to be printed on a thermal printer with continuous paper.(8centimeter paper)  Now a receipt will need to have variable height according to the number of items it contains.
The problem is that Crystal Reports takes the page setup from those available in the print setup and all these paper sizes have a fixed length .
How can I set the paper to a continuos paper?

Hi,
When you go to Crystal Reports | Design | Page Setup there is an option for Dissociate Formatting Page Size and Printer Paper Size.  Put a check in the box.  You can set the horizontal size.
Also make sure you do not have anything in the page header or footer.
Good luck,
Brian

    Jia Shun,
I had the same issue for printing A/R Invoices - I created a Crystal Report based on a SQL View, works fine with A/R Invoice document, but the Draft Invoice printing has 3 pages: 1st page blank, 2nd page with watermark "DRAFT", 3rd page my Crystal Report layout without any data. When printing normally it is only 1 page.
Here is what I did as a work around:
Create two SQL Views, one select from OINV (joining INV1 and other tables needed), the other select from ODRF (joining DRF1 and other tables needed), for the draft printing.
Create two identicle Crystal Reports, only difference are: datasource location (from different views), the "draft" crystal report has a watermark section.
Go to Administration>System Initialization>Print Preferences and uncheck "Print draft watermark..."
Import both crystal reports. Invoice can be printed normally. But the Draft Invoice has more steps: Open Draft document report, change settings so it shows the DocEntry in the Draft Table. Select and open the desired document, hit Print Preview, and enter the DocEntry, it displays the layout with data and "DRAFT" watermark.
This is a workaround. I don't like it because it is not scalable - too much workload if you want to print 100 invoices.
Hopefully someone will provide a better solution.

  • How to AUTO print DMS with Shop Paper without 3rd party software?

Since standard SAP cannot AUTOMATICALLY print DMS with shop paper.
Is there a way to AUTOMATICALLY print DMS with shop paper without using 3rd party software ?  I've heard that there's a user exit or Function Modules that we can use so this will be possible. We don't really want to deal with 3rd party software if we can avoid it.
Has anyone resolved this problem without using 3rd party software?
    Thank you,
    Sam

It would easier to get an ABAPER to debug the manual process and then use those function modules etc in the modified program.
The ability to print attached documents exists as a manual process of navigate and click, the process is as follows:
    1.     Access transaction IW32 (or IW33).
    2.     Enter order number (initial screen).
    3.     Click enter (change order central header screen).
    4.     Select the operations tab page (change order operation overview screen).
    5.     Select the relevant operation (change order operation overview screen).
    6.     Click the PRT icon (change order operation overview screen).
    7.     Select the PRT (PRT list of operation screen).
    8.     Click the PRT display button (PRT list of operation screen).
    9.     Click the print button (display document screen).
    The process prerequisites are:
    •     Work order created with assigned PRT document.
    •     PRT documents.
    •     DMS configuration to allow document to be opened and printed.

Try holding the Option key and selecting Library from the Go menu in the Finder. Then go to the Preferences folder in the window that opens, and locate the file or files that begins with "com.apple.print.custompresets," and move them out of this folder (e.g., to the trash). After this, log out and back in to your account, and then try setting up your preset again.
You might also remove the file "com.apple.print.printingprefs.plist" since this is involved with what presets are picked.

  • Crystal Report Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

I develop the crystal report 2008 with VS.net 2008. The report runs on web.
when I preview or debug with VS on my local computer, the crystal report using A4 (8.3 * 11.7 in), Which is correct.
However, after I deploy the program to the server, and try view and print report through IE, the print out is actually using Letter size (8.5 * 11 in).
Both on my local computer and the server, the default printer is set to A4 size. And on the crystal report, in the printer setup, the paper size is A4 as well.
I try on firefox, and safari. No luck. Same as IE.
The crystal report need to print barcode, and the paper size must be A4, cuz the barcode page is designed and printed on A4 Avery Laser Barcode sheet.
I tried on my PC by using remote server data souce, the printing works perfectly in A4 size (8.3"*11.7").
And I don't know why same program after deploy to the server, then it using Letter size (8.5" * 11"), which the size I never set to.
    So strange.
    Thanks

    A few ideas \ suggestions:
    1) Make sure you are using FP 3.3 runtime:
    https://smpdl.sap-ag.de/~sapidp/012002523100016807202010E/cr2008fp33_redist.zip
    2) Try a simple win app - use saved data report (crystalreportviewer1.reportsource = <path to saved data report>). Does this print correctly?
    3) What print mode are you using; PDF or ActiveX?
    4) Try export to RPT and PDF from your web app. Does it export correctly?

  • Crystal Report XI Print report on different paper size (A4/Letter)

    Hi,
I have designed report in Crystal XI using paper sieze Letter. Multipler sites are using this application. User in USA are using Letter size paper and User in Euorpe are using A4 size paper. All reports work fine for USA users.
When Eurpoe users print the report on A4 size paper which set in Letter size, the report is truncated from Header or footer. They are printing report from Application and application is set on Citix server.
If Anybody have any idea how to setup Crystal report so it can print on any paper size?
    Thanks
    Bhagvat

    Hi Don,
    Please find the below description.
Background: Crystal Report XI is utilized to develop and view reports with data source from Oracle based LIMS application (Vendor: LabWare). The reports are printed using network printer on US Letter paper for users located in North America and on A4 paper for users located in Europe. The report format is US Letter and designed to print on both paper formats i.e. Letter and A4.
Issue: When reports are printed by users in Europe using A4 format paper the printer defaults to US Letter paper (in printer preferences) resulting to data cut off from top and bottom on the printout.
    1)      When report layout is select to A4 during developing reports using CR, the printing preferences changes to A4 when printed and vice versa for Letter format. How can we avoid CR to enforce from changing printing preferences?
    2)     According to Citrix engineers in the company, the printer drivers installed on Citrix servers have nothing to do with printing preferences and CR defaults to paper size based on report design. What do we tell them about doing different to resolve this issue?
    3)    Even though a printer preference of default printer on local desktop is changed to A4, the report gets printed to Letter format result in data cutoff.  We have tried this option with several HP printers from few different company locations.
    Thanks

If the LINE-SIZE specification is missing, the line length corresponds to the current screen width. The system field SY-LINSZ contains the current line size for generating lists. The maximum width of a list is 1023 characters. You should keep lists to the minimum possible size to improve useability and performance (recommendation: LINE-SIZE < 132). For very wide lists (LINE-SIZE > 255), you should consult the notes for using LINE-SIZE

  • Problem to print report with graph

    Hello,
I make a vi to print or save in html file my front panel results. In the results, I have a graph and to save it in my report I use the "Append Control Image to Report.vi".
The problem is when I print the report the Image is in the top of page and it's size is limited by the size of the left header text. And the top text (not header but just the Title text) is placed after the image.
Now when I save it in the HTML file, I have any problems in the structure of my report.
If you have suggestions, I listen to.
I have an idea to divert the problem is to make a vi to print the HTML file but I don't know to make it.
    Thanks for help.
I have attach the file. A man please print the report and say me if the struct
ure is good. Like this, I know that the problem is a problem to my computer config or print config.(Use Labview 6.1)
    Thanks for help.

    Hi midtisam,
I've run your VI to test it for you. I believe I am seeing the same bahavior that you are. The graph always shows up at the top of the page even though it is added after the header. Also, I tried creating an HTML file and it worked correctly. I would suggest doing this since it seems to work better.
Now, you can not use the Print Report VI with HTML reports. If you are able, I would suggest just creating the HTML report and either printing it from your computer through Internet Explorer or sending the file to whoever needs it. Best of luck.

  • Application Popup when printing Report with printtoprinter

    Hi there,
we have an ASP Application running on IIS for one of our customers. It was developed under
Visual Studio 2008 ASP.NET and we use the integrated Crystal Viewer Control.
The Application is sending Reports via PrintToPrinter directly to a local Printer. This all works
fine for a while. But after a while it starts generating application Popups on the webserver. The w3wp.exe
is generating Errors that sounds like the following :
    Application Popup: {C5371A04-4027-44C2-A0D0-1D38F00C4E84}: w3wp.exe -
Component missing: The application could not be started, because cxlib7-2-1.dll could not be found.
    Reinstallation mighty fix this problem.
Funny thing is, that this dll exists on the server. All these errors cause, that our customer
is not able to work, as long as this popus stays on the Webserver. This Application is
a Stockmanagment Tool and very important for our customer, so you might guess, that
he is not very pleased with this situation.
Is there any known issue with this DLL? I asked Business Objects a year ago and they had the idea,
that it might by a version conflict. We solved this problem, but now we have this error again.
    Any ideas?
For more information just ask me!

Strange, but then we're working with computers... Seriously, all I have are ideas to try:
Place a copy of the cxlib7-2-1.dll into the app directory or win\system32. The dll should be in c:\program files\common files\business objects\2.7\bin by default. Also, it should have a version of 10.2.0.949 or a bit higher.
I believe you are using CR 10.5 (CR assemblies should have a version of 10.5.3700). See if using the latest runtime will help. SP 1 has been released for CR 10.5. The SP is here:

  • I am using Aperture 3 to edit RAW and JPEG photo images on my Macbook.  I am having color printing issues with my Canon MP640 Pixma color printer.  The image I see on my macbook is not reciprocated in printing from my printer?

My issue is that I am not getting print quality compared to the image I see on my screen.  Just recently it has been very wishie washie.  My printer is supposed to be excellent for producing color prints
I have contacted Canon support but they told me that the signals that are sent to the printer originate from an Apple product, therefore, it is an Apple mac problem not there's.  I am wondering if my on screen proofing and/or printing profiles are correctly set.  I notice that in 'print profiles' there are nine different options for printing from my particular printer.  How confusing is that?
I have also found that when I choose a high standard print option my photo print comes out very red.
Can some kind person please help me?  I don't seem to be getting any help from anyone else!  Thanks in anticipation.

You didn't mention any color calibration being done on your monitor.  This is an essential part of any color-correct workflow.  What are you using to calibrate your monitor (and your printer)?
Print profiles (for soft-proofing as well as printing) are for specific combinations of paper & printer.  The nine you have are each, most likely, for a common paper (perhaps mfr'd by Canon) to be used with your printer.
I don't know what you mean when you say "I choose a high standard print option".
Have you read the User Manual chapter on printing?
    Printing Your Images
There is also a good appendix on calibration:
