Print settings don't save

I am trying to print to a Zebra GK420d Label printer and firefox will not remember my paper size after one label is printed. Ideas on how to force a paper size and have it remember it?
I am on windows 7 and have changed my paper size for Printer Preference and Printer Properties and it will print correctly in notepad.

Just tried printing to another printer on our network and the settings definitely save from print job to print job. Ideas on why it would only be an issue with my Zebra GK420D label printer?

Several problems continuous since first installing Firefox. Personal google search settings don't save; remember me options on web sites like Facebook aren't remembered; Youtube and Flixy videos don't play despite removing/reinstalling/upgrading Firefox several times; upgraded the latest flash plugin today, but no difference, symptoms are black play box with youtube and white box with Flixy. Disbale AV and antimalware makes no difference either.

  • Print Settings Don't Work

Update: This turned out to not be a Photoshop problem. I reverted to an earlier Restore Point in Windows and all is now well. Thanks!
When I click Print Settings under Printer Setup and choose my paper type, resolution, size, orientation, and color management settings, they do not take effect after I click Okay.  Despite what I set, if I go back through Print Settings, the default settings are still there (Plain page, Normal-360dpi, default color mangement). If I print, dreadful color results.
PS CC 64-bit Setup: In the main Photoshop Print Settings dialog box, I am using Photoshop Manages Colors, my specific printer profile, Normal Printing, Relative Colorimetric, and Black Point Compensation. In the Printer Setup section, my color printer is selected (Epson 2200). PC: Win 7 (64-bit), i7 3.40 GHz, RAM 16 GB. PS and Windows are on the SSD, with data on the HD.
The same problem occurred with CS6 before I went to CC.
Needless to say, I can't print. I'll appreciate your help--haven't seen anything like this and can't find anything about it on the Web.

Timmy, since Microsoft no longer supports WMP 9 for Mac, you should just use Flip4Mac or VLC or other third party Windows Media player.
I don't know how migrating from a PPC iMac system to an Intel-based iMac works, but you probably have a lot of non-Universal files on board your Intel-based iMac and that could be a problem.

  • Internet Options, LAN Settings don't save when using Run As

    Hi,
On Windows Server 2012 RTM with IE ESC off I can log on to the console of the server as UserA, I can open IE, open the Internet Options window, select the Connections tab, click LAN Settings, change a setting (eg specify a proxy server), click OK, and click
LAN Settings again to confirm my changes were saved.
However, if whilst logged on as UserA, I right-click the IE icon on the taskbar, select "Run as different user" and specify credentials for UserB instead, any changes I make in the LAN Settings window are forgotten the moment I click OK.
But, if I log on to the console of the server as UserB and open IE, the LAN Settings window does remember the changes I make, so this is not a user permissions or Group Policy issue.
Additionally, if I use Fiddler's "Tools, WinINET Options" menu to access the Internet Options window, I experience the same variations in behaviour I described above depending on whether Fiddler is run from the console user, or via "Run as different user".
Lastly, using Sysinternals's ProcMon, when the LAN Settings are saved correctly, I can see it is done via DllHost.exe (WinInetBroker) calling GetUrlCacheEntryInfoEx which in turn writes the "Internet Settings\Connections\DefaultConnectionSettings" value
to the registry. I can also see iexplore.exe writing the "Internet Settings\Connections\SavedLegacySettings" key. When attempting to change the LAN Settings when "Run as a different user", ProcMon still shows the successful write to the SavedLegacySettings
key but the other key is never written to, there isn't even an Access Denied.
A reference to "GetAppContainerRegistryLocation" in one of the ProcMon captured stack traces suggests this is behaviour new to Windows 8 as part of the "Metro"-style app isolation, however this is occuring in IE desktop mode and Fiddler (which is not a Metro
    app).
I believe this is either a bug that needs to be fixed to allow changes to save correctly or return an error when attempting to save the changes if they will be ignored. At the very least, this behaviour needs to be documented.
    Regards,
    Jason

    Hi Jason,
I have tested in my lab, and got same result with you. below is my test and results.
    1. log on with user1>> click "IE" and select "Run as different user">> type user2's credential >>change proxy, click "OK". open "internet option" again, the change was not saved.
    2. log on with user2, check proxy in IE, the change was not saved.
Then I tested on "Home Page", zone settings, , I found the changes can be saved.
I have done further test on other applications, such as notepad (enable/disable status base), calculator (View >> standard/scientific/programmer/statistics), the change can be save from "Run as different user".
since this is a behavior of IE, I suggest you submit a post in IE forum and IE experts may give you explanation on that.
    Thanks.

  • Dashboard settings don't save

when i mark widgets as being deactivated - then logout or restart my computer - all of my widgets are once again activated and i have to deactivate them by hand.
i want to save RAM and deactivate the ones i never use using the widget manager..

It could be that your dashboard preferences have become corrupt. Navigate to your home folder, then to Library -> Preferences. In there, look for com.apple.dashboard.plist. Trash that file, log out, and log back in. Then deactivate the widgets you don't want, log out, and log in to see if that worked.
Even if that doesn't work, keep this in mind: Just because a widget is shown in the bar at the bottom of the screen, doesn't mean it is taking up memory. The only time a widget can consume memory is when it is actually placed on the dashboard (either by clicking the icon in the bottom bar, or dragging it from the bottom bar to the Dashboard).

Since the software update to iOS 7.0.2 my iPad 2 will no longer save my carrier APN settings.  I have spoken to the carrier (virgin) and have tried to reset the APN to factory default then re-enter the APN settings.  Nothing appears to be working and virgin told me it is the fault of the apple software update.  Can anyone help or can Apple please fix this ASAP? I can't use my 3G at all, only wifi and need 3G access while travelling.

  • How to set and save Custom Print Settings in Aperture?

How to set and save Custom Print Settings in Aperture
    Hi,
I am printing 12x18" images on 13x19" sheets. I find it difficult to enter the 13x19" dimensions because each value jumps to another random value when I move to enter the second dimension. For instance 13 jumps to, say, 8.5 as I type 19 into the second box. Same with the sheet dimensions.
Also, when I finally get it all correctly, the margins don't set themselves automatically - which I would I expect.
Then, even though I save the setting by clicking Save Setting at the gear below, next time I turn Aperture on, it's all gone.
    Any ideas? Thanks.
    Raphael

For me, it is working with these settings, Raphael.
Does your image have a 12x18" aspect ratio? You may want to crop it to the desired aspect ratio before printing.
I can only test with Aperture 3.6 on Yosemite 10.1.

  • Can you save print settings with a PDF?

I have an 8.5"x14" PDF. Is there anyway to save default print settings with this PDF so if a user opens it on their machine it defaults to printing to 8.5"x14" paper? Right now it always defaults to the standard 8.5"x11". I'm not sure this can be done because it seems like more of a specific users machine thing. I don't think you can save print settings with a PDF can you?
    Thanks!

The "auto-formatting" of a hardcopy print format is generally the realm of the output device, in this case the printer. Printer software gereally includes an auto-format feature that selects the proper bin. For those who only have a "letter" tray, it usually asks to feed the right format manually, or switch trays. This is not a PDF feature but an output device feature.
    Hope this helps.

  • Saved "printing shortcuts" settings don't appear to be saved??

I'm a bit frustrated with the "Printing Shortcuts" option to save your own settings after noticing that when I've saved settings, they don't always seem to be saved. I've gone through the tabs (esp . the color settings) and set things the way I want, then gone back to the 'printing shortcuts' tab and clicked 'save as' at the bottom and entered a name. The name appears in the list and looks like it was saved. But when I go back and click that shortcut, my settings do not reappear when I look through the tabs.
I've saved two Shortcut settings of my own, set paper sizes, the right paper, and advanced color settings. I've done it by right clicking the printer in Windows and going into "printer preferences", etc...and I've also tried it by clicking "print" in Photoshop, choosing the printer in the pop-up window, clicking 'preferences', and reaching the HP "shortcuts" menu. Both ways obviously get you to the HP "Printing Shortcuts" utility, and either way I can see the two shortcuts I saved. But again, if I click either of them none of the selections for paper, paper size, or color settings appear. Clicking on some of the built-in shortcuts makes the paper/paper-size settings switch accordingly---so why don't the ones I save myself?
    Is that normal?
(For what it's worth...I'm still aggravated that HP has -no-..meaning -zero-..printer profiles readily available for this printer in Windows. I've fought with trying to create one that works and may finally just buy an IT8 target. But I finally just gave up and decided to roll my own color settings in the above 'shortcuts'. Just today, a week after I bought this, I can generate nice acceptable skin tones in my prints that look like what's on the screen in Photoshop. For what it's worth I do love the prints, and this printer is great after all this. So, now, I wish the shortcuts would stay the way I make them.)
    Help me Obi-wan-kenobi...anyone?
    Thanks,
    Chris

Having exactly the same issue. Using UPD 5.3 PCL6 driver. I can apply changes to the default/eco short cuts and they are retained until you select another shortcut and return to the original. At that point it reverts to the default default. Close and reopen and my mods appear again.
With the additional shortcuts though, I can create whatever I want, save as and apply, close the window & reopen and no new shortcuts.
    Come on HP!
    Cheers,
    Dave

  • Is there a way to save and export/import Adobe Reader X printer settings?

I would like to setup printer settings to a specific paper size and other print settings and have several different print profiles that can easily be loaded instead of adjusting settings every time. Then if possible I'd like to be able to save all of them and then load them onto a separate computer running Adobe Reader. Basically I am looking for the functionality that the InDesign print dialogue provides.

We don't have that functionality in the Acrobat Family. InDesign uses the print system from Creative Suite, Acrobat and Adobe Reader do not.

  • How can I get Acrobat to save my recent print settings?

    Hi there,
    Setup:
    Mac OSX 10.7.3
    Acrobat X 10.1.2
Having recently upgraded to the most recent Acrobat pro I seem unable to save my most recent print settings. Previosuly, when I setup a page to be, for example, A2 landscape with some specific printer settings, it would then present these same settings when I went to print the same document or another open document. Now, in 10, I can setup the page settings and print settings, print a document, and then when I try and print again it has defaulted to the default page setup (A4 portrait) and default print settings.
This is SO infuriating that I am hoping it is a bug (fixable?) and not just a massive failure of the software.
    Thanks for any advice/help.

I'm not sure (since I always print to the same size), but try this:
Click the Page Setup button at the bottom of the dialog. Ignore the warning screen. Set up the Page Setup in Mac OS X the way you like. At the top, choose Settings and select Save as Default. Then click OK.
Click the Printer button at the bottom of the dialog. Ignore the warning screen. Set up the Print settings in the way you like using the popup menu which initially shows Layout. Then choose Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset. Then click OK.

Would greatly appreciate any help with how to do so. I'm on Windows XP, SP3 with a HP all in one on a wireless laptop (don't have wired connection). Wireless router is a linksys. • AI CC 2014.1.1 (18.1.1) no longer saves print settings

Recently, and for as long as I can remember, AI saved print settings with the document. Now this no longer seems to be the case. One must manually set EACH print setting prior to printing, even previously saved documents.  :-(  This used to save a lot of time, but now requires extra time to re-set up each doc for printing, EACH TIME it is printed.
    Bummer.
If there's a way around this situation, I'm all ears.  :+)
