Print size wrong when printing from lightroom 4.2 RC

i have to admit i rarely printed from LR before.
most of the time i print from photoshop.
but yesterday i had to print a lot of small images so i thought i try LR for it.
i wanted to print a few 35x45mm images on DIN A4 paper.
images dimensions are correct (35x45mm 360 DPI) and it prints as 35x45mm images when i use photoshop.
when i use LR and i set the cell size to 35x45mm the prints come out to small by a couple of millimeters.
what i am doing wrong? LR has not so many print settings i could have messed up.. right?
i tried it a few times then i gave up and printed from photoshop.

no idea?

  • HP Photosmart 7200 Colors are Wrong When Printing on Photo Paper

I'm running Windows 7 and am having a problem when printing on photo paper.  The colors are off; mainly green.  The colors are fine when printing on plain paper.  I have tried printing from my computer as well as straight from the media card.  Same result.  I am also using HP Photo Premium glossy paper.  Print cartridges are brand new and are loaded correctly.
Any solutions or troubleshooting tips I can try?

  • Image size problem when printing

After printing a few 6" x 4" prints on my Epson Stylus Photo printer I found that all my images were enlarged so cropped off slightly.  I now find that if I pre set the image size in library custom mode (6000x4000) first before print then they print the correct size.  Is this normal practice or can I set the correct image size in print mode so as not to crop off?  All my original images are either raw or tiff and considerably larger than print size.  In print mode all my margins are set to 0.00 and cell size to 6.00 x 4.00.

If you are going to print an image at 6x4, then you need to first use the crop tool in Lightroom and crop your image to a 6x4 aspect ratio. If your image is any other aspect ratio, the image will wind up enlarged and some of the image will not fit on the paper, as you have seen.

  • Report file size limitation when printing?

Does anyone know of a file size limitation when printing a .NET run Crystal report? We run a browser app, which opens a new browser when a report is printed. That works fine. When we PRINT, the ActiveX print dialog box appears. If the report is large (> 40 pages or so) it crashes our entire application. It works ok if we export to PDF then print, but I am trying to get to the bottom of why it is crashing.

    Hello,
What version of Cr and .NET?
Does your printer have limited memory?
    Is it local printer?
Have you tried installing the latest Drivers for it?
What Browser are you using and have you tried any other?
40 pages not much local memory so it shouldn't be a problem.
Create a new Printer and select File rather than port or LPT as the destination to see if it's a physical printer or network issue.
Try a different printer altogether also.
Also refer to Rule of Engagement posting before submitting your question so you provide as much info first.
    Thank you

  • Saturation Loss When Exporting from Lightroom.

This happens to me when exporting from Lightroom 2 or 3. It happens regardless of the color profile, file format, bit depth, image size, compression, or the method of export. I regularly profile my one-year-old iMac monitor with an Eye One Display 2. My working color space for Photoshop CS4 is ProPhoto. After exporting, I am viewing the images in Photoshop, Safari, Firefox and Apple Preview, with the same result. I have used pretty much all the available export methods in Lightroom, including exporting with Lighroom ad-ons such as SlideshowPro. And, conversely, if I edit an image to my liking ourside of Lightroom, there is a saturation increase when I import it into Lightroom.  The effect tends to be most obvious and bothersome with shots taken outside on sunny days, with lots of blues and greens.  I am shooting raw files with a Canon 5d II and I use the Adobe Standard profile in Lightroom.
There is a section at the back of Martin Evening's Lightroom book where he talks about the Lightroom color space and Lightroom versus Photoshop curves, which seems to relate to what I am seeing, but I have the feeling that what I seeing is more pronounced than what he is talking about there.  It is a real dullng of the look, not merely a slight difference in how the colors are rendered.

Looks like Lightroom doesn't like your display profile.
Try removing the profile (don't know how to do it on a Mac) to leave your display uncalibrated. Are the colors still different in Lightroom and Photoshop?

  • Save as DNG in Photoshop when editing from Lightroom

When transfering from Lightroom 2 to Photoshop CS3 (Windows) and after editing as a smart object in Photoshop how do I save the file back into Lightroom as a DNG file

You cannot save DNG files from photoshop. This is because DNG lacks the support for the features you need.

  • Skin Tones Look Wrong When Printing From iPhoto

    Hi
I'm having trouble getting the caucasian skin tones to look right on photos printed with my Epson Stylus C86 printer on Epson Premium Semigloss paper. They look too pinky/purple when compared with the screen of the Sony DSC camera I shot them with and also my iMac's monitor. They just look wrong as though the subjects have a combination of bad sunburn, high blood pressure and are blushing at the same time!
I've tried the following tips synthesised from other threads:
    1. Downloaded the latest set of drivers from Epson's website.
    2. Ensured that they are associated with the printer in ColorSync utility.
    3. Selected the Use ColorSync option when printing from iPhoto's print dialogue box.
These made no difference to the default behaviour i.e. same color problems.
Could anyone guide me to a solution? I would rather not have to use another application to print them if possible. I'm not used to my Mac not "just working".
    Thanks

What color profile do the pics have? Is the printer set to the same profile?

  • Color wrong when printing to Canon i9950 from CS5 apps and Acrobat, Win7 x64

When printing from InDesign CS5 on Win 7 x64 to Canon i9950 using the  Canon ICM profiles (MP1, PR1, PR2, SP1) the colour output is completely  wrong!
I disable the printer driver in the print prefs  (set to "manual") and under "color management" choose "Let InDesign  decide..." (no other option) for "color handling", and choose one of the  above profiles for "printer profile", as appropriate to the paper in  the printer, and the colours are totally out of whack.
If  I just set the output "printer profile" to "Adobe RGB (1998)" the  output is much better, but of course it still isn't quite correct, or  properly set for the individual substrates, which the Canon ICMs are  supposed to do.
Interestingly, when setting output to the  Canon profiles, it makes no difference whether the printer manages  colour (auto) or not (manual). Also, strangely, these profiles were  working fine with CS4, before installing CS5, but now they are not  working in CS4 either!
So now "colour management" is a joke thanks to CS5.

You might check with Canon to see if they've prepared any updated printer drivers you can download and install.
Scout around this forum, a number of folks have reported certain Epson models with similar issues.  Feedback from Adobe was that they've switched to newer printer interfaces under the covers, and not all printer drivers work properly with those interfaces.  In one case at least a new printer had to be purchased to fix the problem.

  • PDF Size jumps when printing to Adobe PDF printer redirected vs. locally installed

I have a Server 2008 R2 setup to run Sage Peachtree as a RemoteApp.  RemoteApp is configured to pass local drives and printers through to the server for end user ease.  When you print an invoice (or any file from Peachtree) to the Adobe Acrobat
X "Adobe PDF" printer that has been redirected, a single page pdf will save at about 1.1mb.  If I print the exact same invoice to a local install of Adobe Acrobat X "Adobe PDF" printer on the Server 2008 R2 install, it will save to
about 8kb (which is the expected size for a single page pdf of lines and txt).
If you then try and print the 1.1mb pdf file to a normal HP printer PS (postscript) driver, it will expand in the print spooler several magnitudes to about 10-15mb, giving the impression that it sees the pdf data as an image instead of txt.
My guess is that the data being sent over the remote desktop connection to the redirected "Adobe PDF" printer is coming out of the pipe in a form that Adobe can only interpret as a graphic and thus compresses it as though it was one.
Anyone have any ideas on how to the local printer and the redirected printers to receive the same type of data and thus create pdf files of similiar size?

I suspected as much.  I was hopeful it was something like a setting that needed to be changed or a reg hack that needed a bit changed from 0 to 1 to make the printing work as expected.  I only installed the local printer to see if the RDP session
tunnel was in fact causing the print size to balloon so I will continue to instruct users to use that instead of the local redirected printer.  I am disappointed but not surprised.
    Edit:
Additionally I have tested the functionality of setting the GPO settings for Easy Print to use the redirected printer's drivers instead of the ones used by easy print, by setting “Computer
Configuration -> Administrative templates -Windows Components -> Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host -> Printer Redirection”.
    to “Disabled” but
with no luck.  In fact the printer received the proper Adobe PDF driver, but the job went out into print spool hell and was lost to the ether.  I have concluded that this approach will not bear any fruit.

  • Problem when printing Excel sheets when downloaded from Portal

    Hey,
I am using the desformat=spreadsheet option to generate Excel files for my reports downloaded from Portal and this works fine. The trouble is that when users go to print the downloaded Excel reports it seems that the scale of the report changes and everything is made smaller to try and fit on the one page. The font size decreases, and the scale of the report decreases to the point where the report is nearly unreadable when printed. But when just viewing the reports in Excel everything looks fine.
Any suggestions on why this is happening and how it can be fixed?
    Thanks

    Hello hermannedem,
If you cannot see any content on pages you printed or in print preview, the cause might be margins which are set too high.
#In order to check the margins, we need to go to ''File'' > ''Page Setup''.
#Once this is done, switch to the ''Margins & Header/Footer'' tab.
#Check what's set there under ''Margins''.
The following are the default values for ''Margins'':
    '''Right''': 12.7
    '''Top''': 12.7
    '''Left''': 12.7
    '''Bottom''': 12.7
Check these values accordingly and change them if necessary.
Please let us know, if this resolves the issue.
    Thanks!

  • Pdf file size increases when printing resulting in slow print speed.

I have a .pdf that is saved at 27MB. When I send it to an HP Designjet T520 36in printer the file size jumps up to 136MB and the printing is incredibly slow. This does not happen on all files on a few random ones. Any ideas on how to resolve this issue?

It's entirely normal for file size to increase. PDFs are much more compressed than print streams. For some printers the print size is almost constant (a huge bitmap), for others, it's a collection of graphical items and the size varies enormously. Rarely anything you can do.

  • Colors not printing correctly - Only When Printing from Reader 9

I have recently been having problems printing color PDF's using Reader 9. Yellows are printing as blue, blues as pink, pink as grey, etc. I have no problems printing any other types of photos, documents, or powerpoint presentations so I am assuming it is some setting in Reader. My printer is an HP Color LaserJet CM1015. Any help diagnosing this problem would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks in advance,
    Dave

It is using sRGB and that is the only color profile available.
In addition, when I try to print 4 slides per page and 1 slide per page, the colors are completely different than when I try to print 2 slides per page.
I have tried changing settings in print options and put them back to default and nothing I do changes the issue. Again, it only occurs when printing from Reader. Everything else prints colors perfectly fine.
