Print tabloid size document on several letter size papers (tiling)

officejet pro 8600 on Mac 10.6.8
Can't seem to find the option to tile print.

When you press "command p", the print dialog should pop-up with a the option in a pop-up menu to select the "layout"  screen which should have an sub-option to set the number of Pages per Sheet. Then you can specify how many pages you want your print out to title on.

  • I am trying to scan a legal size document from my Canon printer onto my MacBookPro. It scans the document as a letter size.

I am having trouble scanning a legal size document from my Canon printer onto my MacBookPro. I have set the printer paper size option to legal size on my printer. The scanned document comes through as a letter size document after scanning. I do not see an option in iPhoto to change the paper size.
    Can anyone advise?
    Thanks.

Experience has taught me that it pays to be very precise and specific when dealing with computers. Precisely and specifically, what you describe is impossible. It is impossible to scan a document (of any size) with a printer.
I surmise that you are using an all-in-one, ie, an apparatus which combines a printer, a scanner, and sometimes a fax machine, in the same device. That takes us to the next step -- the page size set for printing is used for printing -- it has nothing to do with scanning. It may be possible that Canon provides software which synchronises page sizes used for printing and for scanning, but we don't know what applications and drivers you are using…

  • Office 7500A E910 prints high resolution document in 1/4 size

I am trying to print a 25 Mb A4-size document full of pictures in a 300 dpi resolution from Adobe photoshop (PC-version)  to my newly aquired Officejet 7500A Wide format networked printer. The documents prints to another printer (HP 2800 laserjet) without any problems. With the 7500A, it prints successfully when I print with the below normal quality selected in the paper/quality print choice, but when I choose normal or best quality, the document is scaled down to the upper quarter corner of the A4 paper I print to.
I have tried to print to high quality hp papers (eg. the HP premium plus paper) without any difference shown. I am using color printing. The original I am printing from is black/white-pictures, however, but I assume this is not the reason?
If I print from Photoshop to a high quality pdf-file, then print that at 600 dpi to my officejet 7500A, the file prints ok. The resulting pdf file is 4,5 Mb, can file size be the issue?
Since I bought this printer to print high resolution photographs in a large format, I really hope someone can help me...

Hi, I have an iMac with OS 10.7.5 and my Officejet Pro 8500A Premium makes scans to computer that are legal size, even tho the original is letter sized. I can't see how to change this in HP Utility. I don't have HP scanning software because I was unable to install it. My doc feeder doesn't work either. Any ideas? Thank you.

  • How to Print one PDF document (with several documents inside) at once?

When I select several emails and convert them into one single PDF file, I would like to know how can I print (hardcopy print) all emails at once, instead of having to select each one at a time to prit it.
    I have ADOBE Acrobat X Pro V10.
Can anyone help me with this? It would save a lot of time.
    Thank you

I am using XI and it has a better print dialog for portfolios, but I think this Adobe blog link explains what you need for X:

Not sure why the link I posted above looks like is has spaces, but there are no spaces in the link.

  • I am using Acrobat Reader 11.0.10 . I cant print mixed originals and also I cannot print letter size correctly . printing of first two pages ok but the rest gets cut off at the top

How can I print from MAC with Acrobat Reader. I can't seem to get it to print correctly , first two pages of letter size works ok after the remaining pages get moved up and the printing is cut off.

I arrived here looking for a solution!  And while reading your post the penny dropped that I didn't have a serious problem.  I have a booklet of 112 pages and all I needed to do was re-order the pages as printed so that 1 is followed by a sheet with 2 on the under-face but same side and so on.  The pages had printed back to front and needed flipping.  But then I have a duplex printer and maybe that makes a difference.  Is it to do with your manual duplexing and the order that the second pass is presented to the printer.  As my duplex sheets effectively needed flipping over each one I'm wondering if you can solve your problem with a little experimentation and re-ordering before your second pass.

  • HP Color Laserjet 2550N problem with letter size documents

If user sends a Letter size print job to the printer loaded with A4 paper printer fails to print until we hit the continue button even if the "Auto Continue" feature is selected. This feature is important because even if A4 is the standard paper size here in AU, most of the microsoft application defaults to Letter (we get lots of document from outside source and constantly hunting them down and changin them is not the viable solution).
We have lots of complain about this because half of our users who uses PC don't have this problem, so the source lies in the OSX driver for this printer. The printer driver setting also has a feature called "Paper Matching" which is set to "Nearest Size and Scale" which doesn't work as intended. After dealing with HP for about a month and a half they have refused to take any responsibility regarding this issue and blamed OSX. Any advise would be great.

    Hi, from HP's official site:

it seems that HP has not released a compatible driver for Windows Server 2008 yet. You may need to contact with HP support to see if they have a latest driver for Windows Server 2008 or if they have plan to develop a Windows Server 2008 compatible driver
for this printer. You can visit the following HP support site:

  • Printer will only print letter size

I just installed the printer (Officejet PRO K8600). No matter what I do it only will print in letter size. This is even if I set up the printer in the program (ACAD LT or ADOBE PRO) as tabloid.

    Hi there pds207,
Could you provide the community with a little more information to help narrow troubleshooting? What operating system are we using?

  • Problem printing custom size document

I am trying to print a custom size document (4.4"x7.2") that I created in Microsoft Word.  I have set the Page size in Word, tried to create a custom size page in my Printer, and am unable to select this paper size in the properties of my printer (using the control panel).  I am at a loss at how to eliminate the "Paper Mismatch" error.  Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.  (I have two other size papers I need to generate documents for as well...4.4"x6.2"  and 4.4"x8.2")
    Thanks!

Welcome to the HP Community Forum.
I doubt I will get any thanks for this; some days are just like that.  Smiling.
While there are several instances where the Specification Sheet is actually in error and Windows does support Custom sizes for some printer models in a similar printer class, I do believe that in the case of THIS printer model, the specs are correct:  Only Mac OS supports Custom paper sizes.
More simply said:  You cannot get there from here.
You are likely stuck with the paper sizes supported by the printer as specified in that Spec sheet.
I could not find the necessary file  Create Custom Paper Sizes in Windows 7, Windows 8, and Mac OS X  for YOUR printer model that one would expect to see in the How-to Support pages if the "Custom" paper sizes are supported for Windows.
I could be wrong -- I have been wrong before.   I do not mind being wrong if it means you get what you need.
If you had something even close to what is allowed, you might be able to select something from the list, adjust the paper in the printer and try to get away with it by adjusting the Printing Preferences.

  • Problem printing tabloid size

Just a bit of information first:
    • I'm running CS4
    • Printer: Canon ImagePress C1
    • Printing on a network printer, it's called Canon iPR Server Q2 V2.0 in Printers & Scanners (not sure if that's helpful)
    The issue at hand:
I recently installed Mavericks. Since then, I'm not able to print from Photoshop. I could print from Illustrator (but now I can't, I'll get to that in minute). In my attempt to fix the issue, I removed the printer from 'Printers & Scanners', and readded it.
I still can't print from Photoshop (the software freezes and then quits). And if I try to print from Illustrator, I don't have any of my 11x17 (or tabloid) options. I've tried adding a custom size through Page Setup. It looks like the size shows up in my print dialogue menu, but when I print the printer chooses Letter size. I'm guessing when I removed the printer initially... some of my printing preferences/options were also removed. Is there a way for me to add these back in? Or am I looking at probably having to call a tech support/print technician? I can print the standard media sizes from Illustrator.
I've included some screenshots of what my print window in Illustrator looks like.

I'm a detailer|draftsman, using Autocad and this effects my way of earning a living. I have to spend extra time printing check drawings. I loose a lot of time with the mechanics of printing.
I have the same exasperating problem with my Deskjet 9650 (with Deskjet 9800 drivers) HP doesn't have updated drivers for the 9650. It's been a few years since I found out I couldn't use the Deskjet 9650 on MY computer.
That computer died and I now have Win7x64 on a 64 bit machine. There is still no relief!!
I use my husband's XP-Pro 32 bit machine. the only drawback is tranferring files to his machine so that I can print.
It is not a satisfactory situation.
I've come to the conclusion: NEVER to buy another HP product!

  • PRINT ARE TO LARGE AND SUMMARY SAYS 9X11 FOR LETTER SIZE???

I am completely stumped by this probelem. For some reason my prints are comming out larger than they are supposed to in Illustrator. When I print a page and choose letter size with no border I check the summary page and it says that I am printing to a 9 x 11 inch page. This doesnt make any sene becasue everywhere else it is listed as 8.5 x 11. Ive tried reinstalling illustrator, my printer drivers, deleting printers completely, and nothing seems to work. If anyone has any ideas I would be so grateful
I have a MacBook Pro running 10.5.6 and the CS4 Master Collection.
Everything has been updated for both CS4 and OSX.
My printer is a Epson r1800. ( i dont think its a printer problem because even when I delete the printer from the mac system the Illustrator print summary still says 9 X 11 when I print to an 8.5x11 page.)

no you are incorrect the document size is still is still 8.5 x 11 and
the bug i in the display of the paper size when it is displayed in
inches you can test this by closing the print dialog and then changing
to points and you will see you are back to 612 points by 792 points or
8.5x11. The reason you are getting an enlarged document is that you
are choosing to use bleed paper for your printer and that has nothing
to do with the bug for display the paper size incorrectly. Keep in
mind paper size and docunent size are independent of each other and
    mean two different things.
When you choose bleed for the paper your printer's drivers enlarge the
document, that is not a bug, it is an expected behavior.
There is usually a control for the amount of enlargement you wish to
occur but there must be an enlargement in order for the bleed to be
success due to paper shift in the printer. If you don't enlarge and
the paper shifts just a little you get a white edge on one side. You
can set the bleed amount to be the minimal and that will help you get
close to the correct size but still it will be sightly larger then the
    actual document file or artboard.

  • Changing page size from legal to letter with same size font when printed

I have the problem that I get a pdf which is in legal size format.  I need to print this in letter size, sign it and re-scan it and send via email to a person who then needs to print it and sign it and scan it.  What is happening is the person who I have to send this too can only scan letter size paper.  I can make the legal size form print, (shink to fit printable area), as letter size but the font becomes so small that it is unreadable.  What I need to do is resize the legal to letter but keep the same size font.  I expect this to make the document 2 pages but that is fine.  I can not find how to do this.  I have Adobe 9.
    [email protected]

Does the original legal size document content occupy more space than would fit on 8.5x11? If not, then you can simply set the page size in print driver properties to letter, and in the Page Handling area of the Print dialog box tell it:
    Page Scaling: None
    check: Auto-Rotate and Center
do not check: Choose paper source by PDF page size - this will force it to print on the paper selected in the print driver properties.
If the actual content is too large to print on the forced paper, then you need to (in the Page Handling area of the print dialog) tell it:
    Page Scaling: Tile large pages
This will allow the remaining content to print on a second page

  • Adobe reader x how to print a 11x17 at 8.5 x 11 letter size

I keep getting emailed maps in 11x17 size and really need to print the whole document at 8.5 x 11 letter size. I have free Adobe Reader X. Anyone know how I can do this?

I did what you advised, still didn't work - then tried unchecking "choose paper source by pdf, then it worked. Even when choose paper sourse by pdf was checked and the paper size showed it 8.5 x 11 - it did not downsize the print for me to that size. Not sure why? Thank you so much!
