Print time and date on photos

I need to print date and time on some photos that I print; who can I do this.  Do I need special app?

What app are you using to organize your photos? If you are using Aperture you can create a watermark and put the date and time on it however that would be tedious. You can also annotate documents in Preview which would allow you to input the date and time, again this would be tedious.
If you have a large number of files to do this with then you may want to automate the process by learning how to do this in the pre-loaded Automator app on your Mac.
You can also look in the Mac App store to see if there are any apps that offer that feature for you.
Finally, many cameras have that feature built into them, primarily point and shoot cameras.

  • Printing current time and date on a pdf document

    I wish for a pdf document to print the current time and date in the same place at the foot of each page, to the following format:
    Aug 04 2009, 5:11 pm.
    How do I do this please? Annoyingly I have managed it in the past, but when I open up my old documents and paste the relevant field into my new document, it either prints the old date/time or else prints the present date/time, but then doesn't refresh the next time I try to print - ie it stays at one date/time.
    I'd like to start again from scratch so that I have a better idea of how it works!!
    Regards
    Tony

    Eureka!
    I now have the answer, and hopefully this will help anybody else with a similar problem.
    In Acrobat:
    Create a text field and place it in the chosen place on the pdf form. Label it "datebox" in the General tab of Text Field Properties, and apply your character styles in the Appearance tab.
    Under the "Advanced" menu, go to "Document Processing" and then "Set Document Actions"
    Click on "Document Will Print" and then hit the "Edit" button. In the "JavaScript Editor" paste the following:
    var myfield=getField("datebox");
    var date=new Date();
    date=util.printd("mmm dd yyyy, h:MM tt", date);
    myfield.value=date;
    Hit OK.
    You have now given the instruction that whenever you print, the field named "datebox" will print the current time and date in the following format:
    Aug 05 2009, 9.37 am

  • How do I keep the time and date stamp of my photo when exporting from iphoto

    Hi,
    I notice the time and date stamp changed when I exported the photos from iPhoto 11 to a external HDD.
    When I looked at the information about the exported photos on my external HDD the time and date changed to the time and date of when I exported the photos form iPhoto instead of keeping the time and date information of when the photo was taken as it appears in iPhoto.
    I thought the time and date stamp is in the meta data of the photo file and can't be changed, am I correct?
    Thanks,

    Kyzelios,
    How can view the meta data from "finder" or do I need a 3rd party app?
    "Get info" function only gives me the creation date which is the export date and time.

  • Iphoto 08   7.1.1 VS IPHOTO 6   6.0.6 dialog and date stamping photos

    Hello again,
    I asked how to date stamp and describe each job photo I take on my 08 version of Iphoto since it doesn't have the "YEARBOOK" selection in the BOOK formats. well I just tried something for the he## of it and it worked real well. Don't use BOOKS at all. Put the photos in ALBLUMS, click "select all" in EDIT click "batch change" in PHOTOS, set Title to Date and TIME then when the time and date show under each picture type next to them what you want to describe. Cilck on PRINT and a drop down menue will appear, chose "Proof sheet" and hit print again and off you go. NOTE if the date and time do not appear when you choose "Date and Time go to VIEW and make sure "Titles" is checked. It works for me -Now back to all my other problems --How come MIGRATE ASSISTANT doesn't????

    Sorry Larry,
    It was late and I was blind so I threw out the question -----The problem is I used the Migration Assistant when I got a new HD installed in my G4 and nothing happened other than the Fire Wire logo just kept running on my screen. I tied my G4 to my Imac with a Fire Wire--followed screen prompt on my G4 to restart my Imac while holding down the "T" key (on the IMAC). I did that and the Fire Wire logo appeared and began running in the faded mode on my IMAC screen. (Normally it should be a bright gray and yellow) I let it run but nothing ever happened and no info showed up on my G4. I tried it several times until the definition of Insanity popped into my head. I have a Rocstor back up HD for storage, tried leaving connected and disconnecting it to no avail. I assume that the Fire Wire logo running in the "ghost" mode is telling me something unfortunately I am just to clueless to know what it is. I am sure that I changed cables (reasonably) as that would be a natural, but nothing changed. I have gone the other way, G4 to IMAC using the same procedures with no problem.
    Thanks, Mel

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 fax confirmation time and date fields has all zeros

     My fax confirmation sheet for the time and date of my HP Officejet Pro 8600 prints all zeros.  How do I reset the time and date for this function?

    Hello rschne,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
    I see that you are having an issue with the date and time being all zeros on the fax confirmation.
    Is the time and date set on the front display of the printer?
    Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
    Write me back when you have time and I will be happy to assist further.

  • Help - EXIF time and date not working correctly

    I am a long time Lightroom user and am trying out Aperture 2.1. I like it a lot but I just found a serious problem. I'm importing some old photos into my Aperture library, by referencing the files in an existing folder. The time and date for some of the files gets messed up. When I view these files in LR the time and date is fine. When I look at the "date created" in the Finder, the time is also messed up. For a photo shoot I did in Europe, the time for some images has the right date & time when converted to US time, but for some images it has the right date & time but as if it were in the US time zone. The files are all Nikon NEFs.
    Also, when I view the files in the Aperture import dialog box they are in the right order. But when they get imported and I'm looking at them in Aperture they are in the wrong order.

    OK, I give up. Turns out that after one successful import where the dates were ok, subsequent imports have the dates messed up again - whether in Quick or Normal mode. I also tried importing to a new collection, and also tried importing after rebuilding the library (via command-option click in the dock). Still hving this problem.

  • Inserting current time and date in a form

    Feel silly here, but I can't seem to find a way to insert form fields that will display currnet time and date, I see where it can be done for a digital signature, but that's not what I need. This is for a client sign in sheet. I want to know what date and time the form is printed, without having to manually enter that data. Thanks.

    Actualy, looking around the web I found another Adobe forum where you answered another person's question about using a check box to populate a text field with the date, which is actually what I really need, as I want to be able to print the form with or without the date and time appearing. Here's the script you posted:
    // Mouse up script for check box
    {function () {
         // Get a reference to the text field
         var f = getField ("text");
         // Set the value of the text field
         if (event.target.value !== "off") {
              f.value = util.printd("mm/dd/yyy", newDate ());
              } else {
                    f.value = " ";
    I copied and pasted the code straight into the mouse up event for the check box, and then changed the text box name to the actuall name of the date text field, and the error I get is "too much recursion".

  • Time and Date

    I am programming a chat server and I want it to log any errors so i don't waste speed and stuff with swing because the idea is to have it running on a server with no screen so i need a log file so i know whats rong when it stops working. I would like it to print the time and date. I don't know what to use to do this. Any help?

    just use the Calendar class. Open a PrintWriter to a file and append all the exceptions and errors to it. For the date and time just use the Calendar function calendar.get(int field) where field can be Calendar.DATE, Calendar.MONTH, Calendar.YEAR etc.

  • Can I change incorrect time and date with

    Hello,
    I used my digital camera in a different time zone and forgot to set it accordingly. Now a bunch of photos have the incorrect time and date. Can I use Photoshop CS4 (11.0.2) to change this? I only found instructions on the Internet for Elements, which I do not have.
    Windows Live Photogallery was only mildly successful. In the Windows 7 Explorer the date is shown correctly, but when I go to open the file in Adobe Photoshop, the old, incorrect date is shown. That's why I hoped that I could change this for good with Photoshop.
    Thanks in advance!
    Aiiyana

    There are several dates in the metadata.  THe date shot is set by the camera and I know that you can not change that in Bridge.  There are programs out there on the web that will do it.

  • Looking at FOCUS POINTS changes Time and Date

    When I select VIEW FOCUS POINTS it changes the Time and Date information in the Metadata. I have seen it happen twice now. The images were taken with a Nikon D90 while in Australia. The first time that I noticed this I was in Hawaii and just looking at the FOCUS POINTS changed the Date and Time to Hawaii time. It happened again in Maryland and the time zone was changed to Eastern Daylight Time. To put the images back in the proper place I have had to change the DATE and TIME.
    Has anyone seen this?
    Roger

    Thanks Tony,
    Did you try this:
    Shoot a photo with your camera set to your local time.
    Import into your Mac set to the same local time.
    Quit Aperture
    Restart
    Set the time on your Mac to another time zone.
    Open Aperture.
    Open the photo.
    View the Focus Points
    Then see if the time metadata is changed.
    Mine changes and the place of the photo in the line-up of my folder changes.
    It still does it after I updated to Aperture 3.0.3 from the 3.0
    I know this is a lot of steps in the test process, but this is how it happens for me.
    If this doesn't work I'll have to look into a new Nikon for you and a flight to Hawaii.
    Cheers,
    Roger

  • Why the time and date is not correct when I save a waveform in txt format, using Labview 6.1?

    I am using Labview 6.1 and my operation system is Windows 98. The date/time properties is configured in the Windows (time and date in the control panel is correct). I generated a waveform using Basic Function Generator.vi and saved this using the Export Waveforms to Spreadsheet File.vi. When I opened this file the date and time was wrong. Only the delta t was correct and it did not show the date neither the time, only a float number. How can I adjust the correct time?

    Actually, the date/time is correct, it is expressed as seconds since January 01, 1904.
    In order to print the string version of the date/time from your file, you will need to write a utility that converts the date/time to a string or series of strings in whatever format you wish. This can be done by reading the first line (I assume that is the line with the time on it), formatting the date/time into a string, and writing over this information in the file.
    The waveform VIs were meant to be used internally to read and write waveform data. Any use beyond that should require you to add formatting and other information/data as necessary.

  • Exporting time and date metadata onscreen in FCP 7

    Hi there
    Does anyone happen to know if i can display the time and date stamp onscreen when exporting to DVD in Final Cut Pro 7? I know that you can now capture the time/date metadata through log and transfer; i need to be able to show that onscreen the same way that you might use timecode when exporting to DVD.
    Additionally does anyone know of a plugin that might give me the same control over this as we already get over timecode?
    And finally, is it possible to print out a log inc: clip name, time and date from FCP7?
    Thanks
    Chris

    ProDateDV from Automatic Duck was a unfortunately mistimed one trick pony that did this ... but only for DV format footage unfortunately, and as such it totally missed the DV bus, as it was only released just about a year ago. It seems to have been pulled from their products page already. Shame. The problem is that every different acquisition format records and stores this data differently, and usually proprietarily, so the details of how and where to find it within the auxiliary data stream is not at all straightforward, nor the means to write a plugin that would work regardless of source media type.

  • Can not set time and date fax setting on officejet 4620

    Can not set the time and date on Officejet 4620 when faxing.  There are no setup options available.  The log always shows "Jan 00  00:00 AM".

    The time and date setting should be under the setup tools or fax setting in the printer control panel.1. Click the wrench icon on the control panel of the printer.
    2. Scroll to Tools.
    3. Scroll to Time and date.
