Print to 12 x 18 in yosemite??

i had a rather elaborate setup for printing to 12 x 18 paper in Lion and Mavericks (i actually had to test this out by randomly trying things over the course of a year and eventually typed up and had to print it out to remember it) and now that i am on yosemite i am trying to figure out how to do this again.
can anyone help?
i am printing out of numbers and/or excel but also would like to do this in preview and acrobat.

i am going to be really surprised (and extremely disappointed if mac doesn't fix this very BIG problem with printing). i guess i will have to go back to my notes and see if i have to reset up the exponential list of possible variables tha i finally combined to get this to work in mavericks.
but am i missing something or do you knnow why your instructions do not show 12 x 18 paper for my wide format printer?
do i have to RE-ADD this paper to my printer somehow (even though i used to have it added)?
any ideas why this paper is not listed when it is obvious to me that i can print to this paper size iwth this printer?

I have a problem with color prints from photoshop elements 12. The pictures are too light and with strange colors. I have a Canon pixma mg615I0 printer and use mac os X yosemite. The pictures are taken with a coanon eos 550d in the color space sRGB. I have followed adobes recommendations and have tried both letting the printer respektive photoshop manage the colors. But nothing works. I see that there are different opinions about which is best to do so I tried both. I have the latest printer driver installed. Can anyone help me with this?

Do the following:
Print a test page from the printer. Perhaps the print head needs cleaning via its maintenance facility.
Let the printer manage colors, not PSE
Calibrate the monitor

Unable to print from iPhoto after upgrading to Yosemite?

Whenever I want to print from iPhoto, the application on the IMac becomes unresponsive and will not print. This all started after upgrading to Yosemite. My printer is updated, so now I have no idea how to make this work again. Any help would be great.

OK and I see the issue is only with iPhoto. The only thing I can think of is resetting the printing system and then re-installing the printer(s). DO NOT use any of the printer's software for installing, simply follow the directions for adding a printer in Mac Basics: Printing in OS X - Apple Support.
To reset the printing system, open System Preferences - Printers & Scanners - locate the device in the window on the left and right click the offending printer and select Reset Printing System....
After you have reset the printing system and re-added the device then shutdown (not restart) the computer for about 30 seconds and restart and then test.

Officejet 8600N will no longer print from second tray in Apple Yosemite

I recently installed a fresh install of Mac OSX 10.10 Yosemite . Immediately after, my HP Officejet 8600 all-in-one would not pull from the optional second tray. There is a 10/22/14 driver update that says it is for OSSX 10.10, but does not fix the problem. After trying every single solution I could think of, including deleting all printers from my system, repairing permissions, installing the new driver, uninstalling and re-installing the second tray, among other things, nothing worked.
The problem appears to be that every time I print, it unselects the "Optional Paper Tray Input" setting from the OS settings. One work around is to go in and make sure that box is checked each time I print, which is a pain and only works about 80% of the time.
The printer is an office printer and Tray 1 is envelopes. While I could put regular paper in Tray 1, that would be unfair to the other people in the office who use the printer and would need to manually do an envelope each time.
I called HP support and they basically told me that it was a bug that was not currently fixed. They said they would e-mail me when a new updated driver is released (I'll be holding my breath for that). I'm posting this here hoping that admins notice it and get moving on that update so that I can get my printer back.

I've spent the best part of a day trying to figure this out. Everything was fine and then one day nothing worked! I have narrowed the issue down to Bonjour via WiFi as everything worked fine via USB, and via IP over WiFi.
I've now set a static IP for the printer and things seem to be working fine again

I cant print over my wifi network with Yosemite

Hi, I've just installed OS X 10.10 on my Macbook Pro and my wife's Macbook Air and we've lost our printers on the wifi network. Internet seems to be working fine over the wifi (120 mb/s) and if i plug the computers in to the LAN connections on the router then I can see the printers OK and printing is fine. Any ideas?Thanks

Printing on Deskjet 5940 from OSX Yosemite

Hi,
Trying to install an HP Deskjet 5940 on a MacBook with Yosemite. The test page prints OK but nothing happens when printing from Notes, Pages, etc.
I haven't downloaded any driver yet since they seem to stop at OSX 5.
Anyone has a clue ?

Officially the HP Deskjet 5940 is not compatible with Yosemite, only the printers listed below are compatible with the OS:

You may try the 3rd part HPIJS print drivers which seems to support your printer, although it is only listed as compatible with OS X 10.8 or lower it should work on your operating system as well.
Be sure to install any of the 3 required downloads below:
http://www.linuxfoundation.org/collaborate/workgroups/openprinting/macosx/hpijs
Next go to Printers & Scanners and select the printer, click the Use drop down and click on Select Printer Software, then locate and select the listed 5940 driver by HPIJS and check if that might work.

I updated the Epson printer on my iMac OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 and my generic ink cartridge does not work.

You might be able to revert back to the drivers you have before you upgraded if you have a backup of your hard drive made just prior to the update. But I'd try the Reset Printing System first.
If you do have a suitable backup go to the HD/LIbrary/Printers folder
and copy the EPSON folder to your Desktop.
Find the same folder on your boot drive and replace it with the one from the backup.
Also go to the backup's Users/Home/Library/Printers folder and copy the Epson app for your printer to the same folder on the boot drive.
I have an Epson R280 printer.
Finally reboot, repair disk permissions and try again.
The above is what I had to do when I upgraded to Yosemite.

HP Photosart 7520, printing photo from iMac iPhoto, OSX Yosemite 10.10.1 color issues

First time ever tried printing a photo - on HP photo paper, using HP ink cartridges. It prints a color portrait accurately, except for eye glass frames and shadow shades which it prints in "green". I tried editing the same portrait in iPhoto to black and white and printing. Again, accurate shades of black and white except for the eye glass frames & shadow shades which printed in "green". Ruins the photo. Help please.

I see that you are having an issue with some portions of the print outs when printing photos.
Please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
