  • Laser Jet 1100 Running on XP machine Need driver for windows 7

I have a Laser Jet 1100 running on a XP machine. Have other XP machines on the wireless network they can print to it, and all is fine. Purchased a new laptop for my wife running windows 7 and the printer will not load onto her machine. I can load the printer local to her machine, it accepts the driver that was loaded onto the machine but can't get it to install on the network.
    Thank you,
    Chris

I have five computers on my home network. My desk top 1 is directly connected to my ip provider router.
This unit is a 32 bit and the the printer is shared through it. I have four other laptops in the house and all my 32 bit computers work fine with the printer.  The two unit I have that are 64 bit base will not work with the printer.  I have not found out for sure yet but i think the problem may be that the 32 bit unit that is sharing the printer is not able to handle the 64 bit code between the printer your new laptop.
My vista unit  will return with an error that states the drivers are not compatible.  64 bit drivers won't install because the base computer is 32 bit.  I could be wrong but i think the only way to get it to work with both 32 and 64 bit system drivers is to upgrade the computer that shares the printer to a 64 bit operating system or replace the printer with a network printer that connects directly to the router at least.
A 64 bit system can handle 32 bit instructions but a 32 bit system can't handle 64 bit instructions. I not a pro and could be wrong and have over thought the problem.

    Hi Clark
There is a good chance the printer is just getting auto IP internally..
Plug it into your TC. And then set to dhcp via the controls on the printer.
If you know the name of the printer it should be immediately available to the network.. but anyway, you can find its IP by printing out the test page. That will also give you the network name.
Most later HP printers have web access to the print servers.. just type the ip into your browser and see if it comes up.
From the Mac, you should then be able to set it up via the printer preferences. Most HP will just appear.. but if not you should perhaps delete the local version and then check again for network printers.

  • Lost printing to HP Laser Jet following installation of upgrade 10.8.2

I noticed from the BB that this issue is already out there, but I am not sure what course of action to take.   I have a IMac with 10.8.2 installed as part of an upgrade from 10.7.x.  My HP Color Laser Jet CM1312nfi MFP worked fine.   Once the upgrade nothing.   From the HP support web site, I read the following:
HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet Printers,  MFPs, and All-in-Ones - Products not supported or with limited support in OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
which leads me to believe that this printer is "done" and cannot be made to work with this OS.   I am looking for a work around for a perfectly good printer.  HP, while not asked has not offered a solution and my take from Apple is that the new OS is supposed to take care of all the issues, both old and new.   I am willing to uninstall any an all software if it will solve the problem.   I am not interested in returning to another older OS.   I did install the new patch provided by Apple, it did not work and I may need to redo if not done correctrly.   It did not solve the problem.   Has anyone found a workable solution to this problem?   I would be appreciative to any suggestions that will help.   Thanks

Thanks for this response.  I was able to get the printer working following a bunch of "re-tuning" of setting and the like.   To be clear, I did install this patch from Apple.   While Apple or HP is not clear, I found that it was better to clean house of all old printer (HP listings), remove sharing from the network settings, installing the patch at least twice and then selecting the printer a second time around.   Lo and behold, I selected " Print a Test Page" and after what I thought was a long wait, got the completed test page.  As indicated on the HP web page, I did lose the ability to scan via the HP Director software.  Not sure that will be a problem as I can still scan to the external memory card and save the image(s).   Progess and change has its cost and I will have to accept this change as part of that evolution.   The new Mac OS has removed many of the folders etc that I was familiar with from earlier times.   The good news is that I can print and that is what really matters.   Thanks again for your suggestion.

  • How do you set up two sided printing on HP Laser Jet P2055

I just purchased a HP Laser Jet P2055 that advertises automoatic 2 sided printing; however, all of my copies are one-sided and I can't figure out where or how to format the printer to print two sided copies.  Any help is appreciated.

    Hi,
You need to change the printing preferences of the default printer to print on both sides. When you click on the print icon to print, it will display the print dialog box. Within this dialog box, there will be a button that may say Preferences or Properties...just click that button to display the printing preferences. Once you have this printing preferences window, locate the tab which will have the option that says print on both sides...provide a check mark on it, hit ok and then print. that should work.

  • Can't print to hp laser jet 1020 printer connected to airport express

Hello All - I recently bought an airport extreme so I am doing some re-configuring of my home network but I am having issues getting the desired out come.
I have the airport extreme connected to the modem. From the extreme in another room, I have an airport express connected to the airport extreme wirelessly (I set that up through the airport utility without any problems.)  Now I want to connect my usb hp laser jet 1020 printer the airport express to print from.  I have a windows 7 machine.  I can see the printer connected to the airport express through the airport utility.  I have tried to use the bonjour print service to set up the print connection.  Bonjour sees the printer connected as well, I run through all the prompts and click finish, but when I go to print something, it goes to print que and nothing happens. (side note, the printer works just fine when connected directly to the computer).
So I guess my question is, it appears the computer sees that my printer is connected to the airport express. But some point along the way, when I go to print, the message gets lost or goes to the wrong place. I am on the right track?  Any other suggestions?
    Thanks.

Does "plugged into it" mean that the printer is connected using USB or Ethernet?
If USB, have you run Bonjour for Windows to find and configure the printer?  (Pages 16-17 in the Setup Guide)
Bonjour Print Services for Windows v2.0.2

  • My printer HP color laser jet CP1215 seems to have frozen and no matter what i do it won't restart

I have the HP color laser jet CP1215 and it seems to have frozen. I have tried unplugging and replugging the printer as well as just turning it on and off. I was able to delete some of the documents in the queue but there is one that I cannot delete and it is freezing the printer.

    Hi,
If that did not work there is more wrong than just a hanging printjob, the step should have removed it.

  • Unable to print to HP laser jet 3600 from Mavericks

I receive an error about legacy USB driver when I try to print.
Deleted printer and re-installed - same problem.
Looked on HP and Apple for support - but not joy.  It just says to update via ASU - but there are no updates to install.
Apple website advises that 3600 should work fine with Mavericks
    Very frustrating.
    Any ideas most welcome.

Thanks Arthur! This worked beautifully. Thanks for the easy to follow step by step.
Here's how you reset the HP3600N printer to factory settings:
    Turn off printer.
Turn on printer with checkmark button depressed.
Release button when all the lights come on 'Solid'.
Change Select Language on the printer screen to Cold Reset.
    Press the checkmark button.
The printer will return to factory settings.

I have a new Macbook Pro running Lion 10.7.  I can print from my HP Laserjet 3030 All In One,  but cannot scan.  HP Director does not show a connected printer.  I know HP is not supporting this printer/scanner in Lion 10.7, but is there a third party scanner software, or other workaround?  I want to scan both documents via the doc feeder (B&W) and high (well sort of high res) res 1200 dpi color.  thanks.

  • HP Color Laser Jet 2840 with /mac OSX 10.6.4

Moving everything onto a new iMac but OSX will not recognize the scanner capability of the HP. It recognizes the printing capabilities and printing is fine but it won't see the scanner. Image Capture doesn't recognize the scanner either. HP simply indicates that the drivers for the 2840 are already installed in OSX 10.6.4
    Any suggestions?

Then have HP walk you through getting the scanner to work properly.

    Hi,
Your wireless router have to support WPS in order to configure the printer usiong this method. be sure to press the WPS button of your router to connect it.
