Print to tape output is blinking between black and image

This is a weird one. I printed one short film to tape this morning, went to print the second one. Except now, the output to the tape is blinking. The slate text begins to blink (instead of ending) and everything after that is blinking. To be absolutely clear: the image recorded on the tape is the film with black frames overwriting in some cadence (regular, looks like every other). This includes color bars, etc.
This short film - unlike the previous one this morning - is 23.98 timeline. However, I've written it to tape before (maybe a year ago) and I've never seen this problem.
Unrelated (?) the canvas shows bright green when the film plays. I have completely re-rendered.
I am mystified by this one.

As I stated above, I wrote out one project, no problem. The funny thing about this was that the blinking started with the slate/title - it appeared for 5 seconds (or whatever time I had specified) then began blinking.
Have you seen this specific problem? I'm also wondering if it could be a problem with my deck. I power cycled the deck to see if that might cure it, but the problem persisted. I eventually made the tape using non-automatic means: playing it to the deck and press the record button - that worked fine. But a troubling mystery, nevertheless.

There is an items bar which allows one to go directly to the news. The bar items are: Web, Images, Videos, Maps, News, Shopping, more.. The background color was either white or gray with blue print. Now the background color is black and I can barely see the items to click on. I downloaded Firefox twice and the problem is the same.

Could be the graphics card, run the Apple Hardware Test
If the hardware test doesn't reveal any problems, use Lion Recovery.

  • How Can I Blink Between Before and After in Liquify?

I think I've done this before (in prior versions), but I'm drawing a blank...  Is there a quick way to blink between before and after results in Liquify?
    Thanks.

There are several ways i can think of
    1. Alt click on the cancel button and the Ctrl+Z
    2. Hit the Restore All button then Crtl+Z
    3. If you have the advanced options showing you could use Show Backdrop and then toggle the Show Image

  • Webcam light on Qosmio F60 blinks between blue and red

Hi guys, I have a Qosmio F60. The problem I think I am facing right now is that the webcam light blinks between blue and red for a while and goes back to blue. And it gets kind of hot behind the webcam on the cover of the laptop.
Is it supposed to get hot when I make video calls?
And what could be causing the blinking of the led light for the webcam.

    Hi
    Dont know exactly what the blinking led could mean but Ive got one question;
Does the webcam work properly? Can you use this as supposed?
If yes, then I would not be worried
By the way the cam should not get warm I think the FL inverter which is placed behind the screen is warm but this is ok.

  • Interval between sound and image!

    Hello all!
I didn't see that question on the FAQs or in the most recent topics...
On burnt DVDs via iDVD 5.0.1, I surprisingly notice a half-a-second interval between sound and image (the latter earlier), approaching the end of a long movie (45 minutes), should the movie be captured from the camera as a single clip, or should it be split into several clips in iMovie.
As if the sound encoding would result in a longer sound tape as the video tape, the movie perfectly begins and the interval progressively installs...
Any explanation or idea or tip to fix that?

they may have been in a 12-bit format!
12-bit seems to be the industry "standard" for camcorders. Both of mine came set to 12-bit. I learned about switching to 16-bit with my first one, because I read the manual. I wanted the best audio.

  • 1080i print to tape - output cropped!

    Hi,
I have some 1080i footage and I've printed it to tape (Canon HV20). Now, when I view the tape version on my camcorder screen or my HD TV (via HDMI connector to camcorder) the image is cropped on the edges (no black edge, just seems like the image is zoomed in so I can't see the edges of the image). Is this normal? I was very surprised since I thought 1080i was just that: 1920 by 1080 pixels. I'm wondering if this is some weird effect of the AIC using this 1440 x 1080 amorphous pixels when FCE does the transcoding from AIC to HD for printing to tape???
I thought worrying about "TV Safe" was a thing of the past with HD since 1080 pixels is 1080 pixels. Has anyone else experienced this cropping of video when printing a 1080i project to HD tape?
    Thanks,
    Chad

I'll reply to myself! I found out that my Sharp HDTV is doing a bit of overscanning and indeed some of the image is cropped *by the TV*.
When I print 1080i footage to tape from FCE, and then reimport it back into FCE from the tape all of the image is seen in FCE. So, there is no real loss of the image edges. Thank goodness.
    Thanks,
    Mace

  • Can I print to Tape from Premiere with a Black Majic Card? SDI?

I'm trying to print to HDCAM. Is this even possible? Is there a Plug In I need?

From what I understand you can't "print to tape" from Premiere. What you can do, is set your BM card to take output from Premiere's program monitor and record to your HDCAM that way. FYI, you'll need to turn off your Hardware enabled MPE for this work.

  • How to print something the same in color as black and white?

I have a gray box that I set as black and then set the tint down to 20%.  When I print this in color it prints with a pink tone.  When I print it in black and white it prints correctly.  Any advice?

I am pretty new to this.  How do I calibrate it?
I am not sure what a command workstation is. I have tried different choices in the properties of the printer and it doesn't change anything for the better.  Some make the graphics worse.

  • Are there any differences between black and white?

    Hi, this is the question:
Are there any differences between a black and a white macbook (2,0 Ghz) except the coulor? I am thinking about buying a macbook but i dont know really what to do
    Coul someone help me plz?

This page explains the differences between the two white macbooks and the black mac book: http://store.apple.com/1-800-MY-APPLE/WebObjects/AppleStore.woa/wo/0.RSLID?mco=A 4791B5D&nclm=MacBook
It should answer any questions you have about all three.
The lowest price macbook has a less fast processor, and the same size hard drive as the middle priced macbook. The lowest priced one also does not have a DVD burner while the middle priced white one does and the black one.
The black macbook has a bigger harddrive then the middle priced macbook and thats about all thats different between the middle priced white one and the black one.

  • Printing doesn't show any colors; only black and white

Hello all, I am trying to get this page (that I'm developing) to print in Firefox 8:
    http://theprojectteam.co.nz/joomla-dev/index.php/workshops/register
In IE8, it prints fine. In Firefox, it only prints in black and white. The logo at top left, the checkboxes, and the "terms and conditions" link don't print at all. The title image prints in a dithered kind of fashion.
Print preview shows everything except some of the borders on the inputs are missing (I assume a border rounding issue...)
Checking "print background" in Page Setup makes no difference.
Printer I am testing with is a HP PSC 2350 multifunction. Bit oldish but seems fine otherwise.

In the print dialog box, click and hold on Copies and Pages, then move down and select Print Settings. Here you'll see the Color/Black and White setting adjustment.
I'm assuming it does print in color from the PC, so nothing wrong with the printer?

  • Difference between .Backgroundimage and .Image paint behavior Form vs Picturebox.

In this code when I copy the image to picturebox1.background image the form does not paint the controls on startup and the paint event keeps firing repeatedly. When copy image to picturebox1.image the form starts properly and the paint event does not fire
    (unless needed).
What is the difference between the .backgroundimage and .image that makes the form not paint the controls but repeatedly fire the form paint event?
Same behaviour if a form backgroundimage is used, but it does not have image property so it cant be stopped if copying to a form background?
    Thanks.
    Public Class Form6
Private Sub Form6_Paint(sender As Object, e As PaintEventArgs) Handles Me.Paint
    Static t As Integer
    t += 1
    Me.Text = t.ToString
Using bmp As New Bitmap(400, 400)
    Using g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(bmp)
    g.Clear(Color.Red)
    PictureBox1.Image = bmp.Clone
    End Using
    End Using
    End Sub
Private Sub Form6_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Me.DoubleBuffered = True
    End Sub
    End Class
Copy to picturebox1.backgroundimages gives this startup without the controls painted and the form paint is continuously firing as can be seen in the form header text:
Copy to picturebox1.image and form startups up properly and does not keep firing form paint.
    Edit: removed         Me.Location = New Point(200, 100)
That does not cause a problem.

    Hey Tom,
Well, i have been playing around monitoring the windows messages received by the form and the picturebox to see what was happening.  I found the messages start changing right after the picturebox receives it`s first Paint message. Here is where
    they start changing.
Using Image Property these are all the massages received after its first paint message is received.
    PictureBox - msg=0xf (WM_PAINT) hwnd=0x37037c wparam=0x0 lparam=0x0 result=0x0
    Form - msg=0x14 (WM_ERASEBKGND) hwnd=0x1303c4 wparam=0xffffffffeb0108b7 lparam=0x0 result=0x1
    Form - msg=0xe (WM_GETTEXTLENGTH) hwnd=0x1303c4 wparam=0x0 lparam=0x0 result=0x5
    Form - msg=0xd (WM_GETTEXT) hwnd=0x1303c4 wparam=0x6 lparam=0x342ee08 result=0x5

Using the BackgroundImage property these are the messages received after the first picturebox Paint message is received. The last 6 messages just keep repeating until the app is closed.

So that made me wonder how they differed in the BackGroundImage and Image properties of the PictureBox class when being painted.  I looked at the .Net source code for the picturebox class HERE
and found that the PictureBox class is inherited from the Control base class and the Image property is a special property added to the picturebox class and is handled in its OnPaint event.  The BackgroundImage is a property of the Control base class that
the picturebox class inherits from.  So, that is handled in the base class somehow.
I looked at the Control class code but, it is so much different than what i am use to looking at that i could not really follow what it was doing.  So, in the end i still don`t have an answer but, i can only guess that setting the BackgroundImage
inside the Paint event of the form is somehow stopping the Form from receiving the 6 messages shown in the first set of messages shown which is causing it to never finish painting itself.
Maybe Crazypennie or someone with a deeper knowledge into the "behind the scenes" workings of it can say what the difference is. I figured that changing the backgroundimage was causing the form to receive a new paint message and was going
into an infinite loop but, according to the messages i was getting after the picturebox`s 1st paint message, the form never receives another message.
I know this probably won`t help but, if you want to create a new backgroundimage for the picturebox and modify it each time the form is painted you could just assign the picturebox a new bitmap at Load and then use the graphics object of the PictureBox.BackgroundImage
to redraw it in the paint event instead of creating a new bitmap for it each time the form is painted.
    Public Class Form1
Private bmp As New Bitmap(400, 400)
Private Sub Form6_Load(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Me.DoubleBuffered = True
    PictureBox1.BackgroundImage = bmp
    End Sub
Private Sub Form1_Paint(ByVal sender As Object, ByVal e As PaintEventArgs) Handles Me.Paint
    Using g As Graphics = Graphics.FromImage(PictureBox1.BackgroundImage)
    g.Clear(Color.Red)
    End Using
    End Sub
    End Class
Or i guess just use the Image property instead.  8)
If you say it can`t be done then i`ll try it
