Print webpages as they appear on screen ?

Hi,
I have a MacBook running Lion with Safari 5.1 and printer HP B110.
When I print a webpage the format is completely different than the way it appears on screen.
I never had much reason to print webpages until today so I do not know if this is normal or not.
The webpages trend to print out as long lists of items one below the other instead of the actual webpage
where stories are beside one another.
Can anyone shed light on why this is ? thanks

That shouldn't happen.
From the Safari File menu click: Mail Contents of This Page.
Mail it to yourself then try printing.
When you click File / Print. In the drop down dialog try deselecting Print backgrounds and headers and footers.

Images seem to print much darker than they appear on screen?

I have been using iPhoto to create cards and then I later save them as .pdf files so I can take them to another mac connected to an Epson 1400 printer and print them. Prior to making the cards in iPhoto, I do basic levels and auto color adjustments in Photoshop. Some of the cards that I am printing seem to be so much darker than the way they appear on screen. I understand that there is a differene between what is presented on a display and the way something may print, but the difference is so drastic. Is this something to do with iPhoto?

Because every maker of computer, software and printer have a different definition of the various colors Apple and others got together to agree definitions that would work together. So if you assign a color space to an image - sRGB, say - then any software or hardware that respect the color space will be using the same meaning for 'green' or 'blue'.
In iPhoto Preferences -> Advanced, check the box for Embed Color Sync Profile, and this will embed a profile on every pic you add from now on.
As to the one's already in, Old Toad has kindly created an Automator action that will add an sRGB profile to pics already in iPhoto. You can downlaod it from here.

Printer is not printing pages as they appear on the screen. Previous printers always printed page as it appears.

Honestly I was hoping it happened in other browsers too. That would be a software issue.
With a software issue I would have ran the HP Print and Scan Doctor.
You could always run it anyways, it would not hurt.
Since it is only an issue with printing from IE, it may be a settings issue.

I am trying to print PDF's of delivery tickets to a dot matrix printer but they do print as they appear on screen. How do I fix this?

I was having problems with adware and I beleive that everything might have been reset as the help desk person was working remotely on my computer. Also, when I print to my HP Laser Jet P2035, it prints a blank page after printing the pdf on the first.

Please check the default printer settings that you have set. Do the tickets print as they appear in the print preview?
If you change any settings, do you see a change in the print preview?
Most printing issues are fixed by resetting the print.printer configuration in the about:config page. Please also see [[Fix printing problems in Firefox]]
If this is still printing white pages, please add "escalate" to the Tags on this thread and we can take a closer look.

I use Photoshop Elements 12 for my photos. I have a constant problem where my photos don't print like they appear on the screen. They come out darker than the screen shows. If brighten them in the program, I have to almost make the photo appear "white" in order to look good printed. ?????? What can I do to fix this problem??

I am ready to bet that your display is much, much too bright (like all displays at factory settings.

How do I get prints to match what appears on my screen?

I have noticed that my prints from online printing services (Ofoto, Shutterfly, Walmart, etc) all seem a bit darker than my prints appear on screen. I use Photoshop CS and sometimes iPhoto for editing, and the pictures look the same in those two programs. I have iPhoto set to add ColorSync profile, and I have Photoshop set to embed sRGB color profile.
Does the monitor calibration have anything to do with this? I mean, when I am making adjustments in Photoshop, I want my print to look like what I am seeing on the screen. The best I have been able to do is change my monitor calibration to gamma 2.2, which darkens the screen, but this seems to match my prints better. Is the best solution...... and is anyone else noticing this??
I mostly use my pictures for digital slideshows on DVDs, put I do want to be able to order prints also.

Hi Don,
If you are using an online printing service, they will 'auto adjust' your prints unless you indicate otherwise. Most, if not all, online photo processing will have a place where you can check off or select 'no auto adjust', otherwise their computers take over and try to adjust or average your digital images before printing. I have sometimes forgotten to check this off, and prints usually come back 'muddied or slightly foggy' looking with lower contrast and brightness.
Check with your service, I am quite sure they can turn off any type of 'auto adjustments'... good luck, Rick

I want to print photo's from my I3. They appear to be saved in photo cache but they wont open. Only way seems to be to e-mail to myself, any help?

I can't print photos taken from my phone. After syncing they appear in a photo cache but wont open and the software from my printer can't do it either. Also tried searching and having Iphone plugged in whilst printing and the printer also can not find the phone to download.

Photos taken with iphone are NOT part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them to your computer regularly as you would with any digital camera.

In the printer driver (accessed through the Page Setup button) set the Advanced tab to borderless. Then in the right hand panel under Layout set all the margins to zero.

The desktop image is fine, taken from the exact same pool of jpg photos. However, as soon as the slide show screen saver comes on, the images are scrambled. What is it about the apple screen saver algorithm that scrambles the pics?

We are all users here. You are not talking to apple on these forums. There is no way anyone here can know the decision making process apple uses to determine what changes to make to the operating system. Also none of use care about which phone you might buy next.

For names to appear on the screen of the phone when calls are received, the carrier has to support caller ID, and the caller ID information has to match what is saved in the contact exactly. If this is not working, you will not see the name.
Not sure what you are asking regarding SIM icon.

Firefox prints some fonts incorrectly, though on-screen display is OK

Sometimes text displayed correctly on the screen prints as gibberish: characters are substituted, the font is changed, and spacing is disrupted. In this case the affected text is in a box, but this is not always so.
Also, some web pages (including this instance) print a blank page below the title before printing the body text.
I have captured the output with PDFCreator. The printed PDF shows the problem. The same web page displayed and printed with Google Chrome appears as expected (another PDF created with PDFCreator). The same results were obtained printing with PDFill. Printing to a physical printer can cause the printer to go haywire printing almost blank pages or simply stopping; apparently the gibberish can be interpreted as printer command codes.
There does not seem to be a way to attach the PDF files with this report. A search of bugzilla help did not find a way. They can be provided if there is a mechanism.
NoScript is not blocking anything on this web page.

It must have had a bit of an aberration last night. I have just tried printing two of the sheets again and they have printed perfectly ok. How weird. It was 11 pages that printed strangely, and four that were ok. Goodness knows what went wrong - I didn't feel all that well last night - maybe the printer was having a bit of an off-day too! I have never experienced that before.

In general theory, one now has the Edit button for their posts, until someone/anyone Replies to it. I've had Edit available for weeks, as opposed to the old forum's ~ 30 mins.
That, however, is in theory. I've posted, and immediately seen something that needed editing, only to find NO Replies, yet the Edit button is no longer available, only seconds later. Still, in that same thread, I'd have the Edit button from older posts, to which there had also been no Replies even after several days/weeks. Found one that had to be over a month old, and Edit was still there.
Do not know the why/how of this behavior. At first, I thought that maybe there WAS a Reply, that "ate" my Edit button, but had not Refreshed on my screen. Refresh still showed no Replies, just no Edit either. In those cases, I just Reply and mention the [Edit].
Also, it seems that the buttons get very scrambled at times, and Refresh does not always clear that up. I end up clicking where I "think" the right button should be and hope for the best. Seems that when the buttons do bunch up they can appear at random around the page, often three atop one another, and maybe one way the heck out in left-field.
While I'm on a role, it would be nice to be able to switch between Flattened and Threaded Views on the fly. Each has a use, and having to go to Options and then come back down to the thread is a very slow process. Jive is probably incapable of this, but I can dream.
