Print window frame too big

Now that I'm running Firefox 4.0.1 (on a Vista 64-bit PC), often when I want to print a web page, the frame around the Windows Print box is too big to fit the screen. The buttons that are critical for controlling print functions, and in particular the print command button itself, lie below the Taskbar, out of sight and unreachable in spite of all attempts to reposition the window using the mouse.
I've checked my screen resolution and it's right for my monitor, unchanged since previous versions of Firefox.
I know I can print by hitting Enter on the keyboard, but it's always taking a chance because, unable to see any buttons, I can't confirm that the settings are as I want them to be.
Is there a solution?

I am trying to resolve a similar problem on a Toshiba laptop running Vista. Dialog boxes are being displayed that fill the entire screen truncating the OK, Cancel and Apply buttons that should appear at the bottom of the dialog box. This is happening on all contol panel and games settings dialog boxes. I have tried the Toshiba zoom settings (FN+Space), but this has not foxes the problem.

  • Print dialog box too big

Adobe Reader 8.1.2; Windows XP; screen resolution 800 by 600 pixels.
Normally, whenever I print a PDF, I click on the printer icon on the toolbar or go to File > Print. The Print dialog appears, and I click on the OK button at the bottom of the box.
Recently, for some unknown reason, the Print dialog appears too big on my screen, and I cannot see the OK button at the bottom of the box.
However, when I change the screen resolution to 1024 by 768 pixels, I can see the OK (to print button), but all other text, icons, etc., are too small to read.
Ultimately, I need to see the OK (to print button)and the text, icons, etc., need to be sized larger, to the 800 by 600 pixels resolution.
    TIA,
    Jerry D.

  • Text/icons/window/ALL too big!  Help please

I'm brand new to the world of mac and have little experience troubleshooting. For whatever reason, only God knows, all that i view on this screen is too big. i tried changing the resolution, restarting, EVERYTHING in system utilities, command + scroll (for zoom) and nothing seems to work.
    Any help would be great!
    thanks

Thanks Poikkeus but it doesn't seem to be a resolution issue. I've tried all options in res and nothing seemed to work. The dock size hasn't changed, but all else is enlarged. The toolbar text, the windows when I open them. In fact, they're so big that I can't see all the information on a window when it's open.
    Any other ideas?

  • In Address book print window opened too large for window.  Unable to close

Using Address book,   trying to print lables for a group, print window opened to large for window.... cannot cancel or close out.

In general, in any window presented which calls for user action, if a button is highlighted (usually in blue if the OS is in charge) then pressing Return or Enter will do the same as clicking that button.
Most of the time the highlighted button is the one which is most usable - the "Print" button in that dialog window, for example, or the "Save" button in a Save dialog window.
The keystroke Command-. (Command-periodkey) will usually invoke a "Cancel" button if such is present in a window.

  • Clip im importing is too big in program window, and too big in exported media

Hi all, would appreciate any help from you guys im going round the bend- im on a friends machine and trying out PP5 for the first time.
I have a clip im trying to export with two other clips in the same sequence. The clip is a .mov file, 1920 x 1080.
When i right click on the two other clips (Mpegs, 320 x 240) and hit scale to frame, everything goes fine for them in the export and they fit the program window too perfectly. But for some reason when I do it with the above clip, there's lots missing around the edges. I'm even setting the project up to have 1920:1080 (16:9) before I start.
Also, when I import the offending clip into the source window it automatically sets it to 50% and it is viewable perfectly at 50% ( if I change the source window to 100% I can not see the whole frame in the source window). But at 50% in the program window, it is still cutting off huge amounts aroudn the edges.
Can someone please help and suggest some remedy for this? This is driving me demented. Cheers

Hi Jim, thanks for coming back to me- sorry im long getting back to you, ive been working.
I tried your suggestion ( selecting monitor to fit), but it's still cutting a massive amount off the edges of the first clip - which is 1920x1080. The second clip still fits ok though at 320x240.
Some more info - when I import the 1920x1080 into the source monitor, it automatically goes to 50%, and then displays perfectly. Then when I drag it to the timeline, alot of it is cut off around the edges as above. However, if I set tyhe program monitor to 50%, the same amounts are cut off.... Does that help?
    Any other ideas?
    Thanks again for the help

  • Quicktime Windows opens too big and off center

So, I found the above-titled question, but it is old and archived and did not appear to have a solution. I have to use Quicktime to view my iPhone movies; otherwise I'd just get rid of it.

What other display settings options are available on your machine (monitor)?
Have you tried settings that have a height larger than 1080?
Some QuickTime files can have a "window position value" stored with the file so they open at a desired location (say the middle of the screen). I doubt this is the case with a 1080 file, however.

The OK button is well below the screen.  The print box needs to be smaller, but you can't drag it smaller.

Click here and use one of the scripts to change the size of the window. This works with applications other than iTunes as well.

  • The print is too big when I print something from a website

This is probably the fault of my computer & not Firefox but when I print something from a website the print size is too big. How can I change this...

    File > Page Setup = '''Scale''' <br />
    100% is usually best
If you can't see the Menu Bar with File, Edit, View, etc - hit the '''Alt''' key to temporarily reveal the Menu Bar.

  • Windows opening too large

Ok not sure how to explain the situation and not sure if their is a fix for this but here goes...I have some macs here at work that when you open certain folders the window is too big for the screen and half the window is cut off at the bottom of the screen. Now I know you can click the green + sign at the top left corner but is there some kind of setting that needs to be set so these windows open at a certain size all the time? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Jeremy
Your post has half the fix. Click the green button and then from the bottom right corner of the window resize to taste. If this does not work, trash the com.apple.finder.plist file, restart and follow procedure above.

  • Pdf and preview printing too big

This problem just began: When I click to print a pdf in either Adobe Reader or Preview, it prints off the page, way too big. The image is fine in the preview window. It happens identically on two printers. Gmail and google and Word docs print fine.
I have clicked FIT and scale in the Reader program, but the result is the same. It's obvioulsy a setting, but the answer is not obvious.

looking again, it prints badly in Chrome, Safari, pdf, preview but NOT Firefox.
And, I was wrong about Gmail. it prints wrong from gmail, too.

  • My iPad standard window is bit too big for the screen.

My iPad screen unexpectedly got slightly too big for the display window. The size is bit too big. For example, the keyboard when it pops up does not fully display all tkey sans. Another example is the time/power remaining bar slips out of sight.  Did I accidentally change something?  Is this an issue with version of iOS that I am using (4.3.3)? (Note I'm not talking about resizing by using your fingers.)

    John,
I am having the same problem.  The enlargement is not the same as the 3 finger tap or the 2 finger zoom.  The screen opens and then bumps to a slightly larger screen just enough to make it too big to see the outer edges.  You can put 3 fingers on the screen and move the screen to see the edges but you cannot get it to shrink to the correct size.  This is the second time this has happened to me.  I am also having some other issues.  Sometimes while in an app the app will close and I will be diverted to the home screen.  And sometimes when playing "with Friends games" the letters on the letterboard (not the key pad) disappear, will not move or are giant.  I plan on taking it back to the Apple store this week but I hate the idea of having to start over.
