Print xls-file out of optical archive

Hello archive-gurus,
I'm storing xls-files in our optical archive which are bound with several business objects. I'd like to print the files out of the archive.
Does somebody know, if that's possible? Is there a FM?
Thanks,
Martin

Hi Martin,
If this is SAP standard object there will already be function modules/programs available to read from archive. Check transaction AOBJ and setting of the object. There you can find the read program.
But if it is custum object, you have write the read program yourself using FM ARCHIVE*

  • IDoc to XLS file out

    Hi,
I am trying to create an interface: (R/3)  - XI - Legacy.
From R/3, IDoc proxy will generate flat file which will be passed to XI for output of XLS file. Can anyone give step by step for how to create XLS output file?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
Check out this link which will talk about how to convert IDOC into a flat file using ABAP mapping.
    https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/46759682-0401-0010-1791-bd1972bc0b8a
You can follow the same logic and convert it into Excel file, for more details about converting IDOC to a file refer this thread Process Integration (PI) & SOA Middleware
Also this thread talks abt saving IDOC as a Excel file and the code is given
    Idoc to Excel

  • How to use file system replacing optical archive?

We do not have IXOS (OT) yet.
However I have configured everything for printlist archiving and early archiving for IXOS (on the R3 side ONLY!)
May I modify the procedure a bit so that the archive will be stored in the file system instead of the
optical device since we do not have IXOS yet.
    Please help. Thanks!

    hi,
    Create Queues
In this customizing activity you create queues and specify the queue administrator. This process should become part of the installation routine of the storage system, because not activating a queue can lead to irreparable errors (and may mean having to repeat print list creation and storage).
    Example
CARA Queue: Queue in which the spool writes the storage requests.
    Activities
You can create queues for the following functions:
    Asynchronous storage (CARA-Queue)
    Error in asynchronous storage (CARA_E-Queue)
    Storage confirmation (CFBC-Queue)
    Error in storage confirmation (CFBC_E-Queue)
    Asynchronous retrieval (CFBA-Queue)
    Error in asynchronous retrieval (CFBA_E-Queue)
You can also define a queue administrator.
Also u can check in archivelinking.
    Edit Links
In this customizing activity, you link a document type to an object type, a content repository, and a link table. This has the following effect on documents of this document type:
The documents can only be linked to instances of the specified business object type.
The link entry is entered in the specified link table.
The documents are always stored in the specified content repository.
    Activities
    Enter the following data:
    Object type:
Business object type that exists in the business object repository (transaction SWO3).
One object type can be used with more than one document type.
    Document type
Name of a document type specified in the customizing activity Document types .
    Status
X: The storage system is active.
Empty: The storage system is not active.
    Content repository ID
Two-digit identification number that you have entered in the customizing activity Maintain Content Repositories .
    Link table
Name of the table, in which ArchiveLink enters the link entries between stored documents and the corresponding application documents.
SAP supplies the following link tables:
    TOA01, TOA02, TOA03 (general link tables),
TOAHR (only for documents from the SAP HR application component),
    and
    TOADL (only for print lists).
Alternatively, you can define your own link tables. To do this, enter the customizing activity Maintain available link tables. Here you can also find a description of the link tables supplied by SAP.
    Retention period
Number of months the entry for the stored document remains in the link table before it is deleted.

  • Drop files out of zip archiv and deliver?

Is it possible to drop a special filetype (exe) or filenames out of an zip archiv? After deleting the unwanted "archiv-members", the archiv should be delivered.
I need this requirement for specific recipients, not as a "global setting".

While it is possible to drop an archive file if the contents contain a certain attribute ( .exe file, filename, etc... ), at this time I am not aware of any way to remove a *single* portion of that archive and deliver the rest of the contents.
I would envision the difficulty would lie in re-assembling the archive correctly, so the recipient did not receive a "broken" file.

  • Rendering print resolution files -- out of memory, out of luck?

    Hey guys!
Trying to render a 7500x5000 pixel image for a print piece. And not surprisingly, I'm getting out of memory buffer errors. Am I just out of luck trying to render something so massive out of AE (until it goes 64bit)? Trying to render just a small ROI isn't working either.

I hear your point. Technically it makes since, but I'd have to disagree. After all, the monitors we use can't display 32bpc color space anyway. Almost all the motion graphics we make ends up in 8bpc color on TV or Web. So we're always viewing some sort of drastically reduced color space.
As a test, I had AE render out a 1/10 res TIFF in 32bpc, reduced the file to 8bpc in Photoshop and did a CYMK soft proof and it looked remarkably faithful to what After Effects was displaying. I took the low-res sample file to the printer and they did a test printing and it looked exactly like the on-screen soft proof. So it's just the effects and transfer modes I want AE to process in HDR space.
So what I ended up doing was rendering out each layer individually and then used Photoshop to assemble all the layers in 32bpc. While I lost the interactivity of working with live plug-ins in After Effects, I was able to get the look I wanted.
Looking forward to the day when After Effects goes 64-bit

  • Print option greyed-out

    G'day
Here's a weird one.  About 90% of the time, after I print a file out, the print option in the file menu greys-out, and stays greyed out until I restart CFB. Even if I CANCEL the print screen, the print option greys out.
Windows Vista Business, 64-bit.  Stand-alone CFB install.

    That's the "tree hug" feature
    Heh.
In my defence, this is the first time I have tried to print something from any of Eclipse, CFE or CFB, in the 7-8yrs I've been using one or other.

  • Help, i am trying to print my JPEG file that i created in photoshop at a photo lab but it is coming out like an X-ray. I have printed these files before so i have no idea what i am doing wrong.

Help, i am trying to print my JPEG file that i created in photoshop at a photo lab but it is coming out like an X-ray. I have printed these files before so i have no idea what i am doing wrong.
Could it be something i have done in my settings?
or when i am saving the file to JPEG?

Basically you're approaching this the wrong way around. What you need is the extreme sections to be quieter, not louder. The problem with moving the lower end of the audio is that you'll move the noise floor too, and get what's generally referred to as a 'pumping' effect. So what you do is to use a compressor to tame the peaks, and leave the lower level sound alone. When you've done that, you amplify (or normalize to a level you can determine) the whole signal. So the noise floor will be higher, but constant and not pumping. 'Match Volume' is a completely different tool for setting the overall levels of different tracks so that they sound approximately the same - it doesn't even begin to do what you want.
If it's music you are treating, then I'd almost certainly use the multiband compressor, because you get less artefacts with this. You need to experiment with the threshold levels, and almost certainly not use a massive compression ratio - 3:1 or 4:1 should be sufficient (although it's hard to tell without actually hearing the audio). You can tell what it's doing at any given point because the downward meter indicates how hard it's working. In theory you can apply make-up gain with it as well, but personally I leave that until everything's treated and use the 'Normalize' tool to set an absolute max level.

  • How to print specific pages out of a book file

I've searched around but I cannot find any way of printing specific pages out of a book file. Has anyone got any ideas? I have a 100 page book file with 20 files, and doing print outs of sections is a nightmare. I want to be able to print page 5 out of file A and page 6 out of file B together so I can duplex them. I've tried scripting this but I can't seem to set the page range of the print preferences of the book file.

    [Jongware] wrote:
I don't think it's possible to set the page range of a Book.printPreferences
Theoretically it ought to be possible. Can't test for myself now; what does happen when you set the pageRange to overlapping sub-files?
I've just tried it with CS3. It might have been implemented in later versions.
In the print Book dialogue the page range field is disabled. You cannot enter anything there.
If you try to do it with a script it says that printPreferences is read only.

  • XLS Files printing as blank

    Hi,
I have a selection of reports some of which print to an XLS file fine and some which just return a blank XLS file when printed via BI Publisher. My primary language is english. I have just upgraded to 3.0.1 to see if that fixes the issues but I still have the same problem.
    Any ideas?
    Cheers
    David

Sorry I didn't make that clear enough I'm using BI Publisher as the print server for the reports from Application Express. Some come through fine and others are blank I am wondering if it is to do with pagination of the reports etc?

  • .xls files in Numbers printing Landscape, can't get Portrait

I searched and found one similar post with no resolution:
I open an .xls file with numbers, the inspector(sheet inspector) shows I have it as portrait, but when I select "print" and the print dialog appears, it shows the .xls file on a landscape background and prints it as such.
In that print dialog, there is nowhere for me to select portrait.
It's obviously a little frustrating, as the spreadsheet does not fit correctly. I'm trying to avoid having to save as a different file type.
This is an excel file from my PC that is now on my MAC. It did print portrait on the PC.
Does anyone know what to do?
    Thx

    Thanks for the help all,
It appears that the print area is removed when opening the file with Numbers and because of some empty cells and the print sequence being left to right then down, and left to right, this was causing it to print in landscape regardless of the settings for the document.
I appreciate you posting the image of where the orientation is at the bottom when in print view, which I've found is the same setting found in the sheet inspector.
The extra cells I mentioned showed as additional sheets, which once deleted, solved my problem.
    Thanks again!

  • Text no longer prints for xls files from preview

After upgrade to Mavericks xls files no longer print text or save it into pdf files.  The text is visible on the preview screen in print but does not get transfered into the files or to the printer.  I deleted and reloaded the printers in preferences and reset the PRAM.  That did not solve this issue.

    markfranklin,
Sorry I did make some assumptions there. I had a look at the low-level code for the Print Report VI and can't figure out a way to modify it to do what you want. Like Coq Rouge said, it would require a pdf printer driver for optimal integration. I did however find a third party PDF Toolkit by Simplicity AI which may suit your needs. It was coded for LabVIEW 8.6 and is available for free download from: http://www.simplicityai.co.uk/products_services/products/pdftoolkit/
I hope this will be of use.

  • Printing XLS, HTML, or RTF using Apache FOP

    Hi,
Is it possible to print XLS, HTML, or RTF reports using Apache FOP? If not, is there another open source or free print server that will do this?
    Thank you.
    Martin

    Hello,
    >>
Your going to want to study the Cocoon sitemap concept to see how to pipeline the xml and xsl to the right output.
    >>
To get this working correctly you need to understand the Cocoon sitemap concept and how to read data out of the XML file your posting in order to pipeline it to the right rendering format. It's pretty much a hands on affair so it depends on what your trying to do, sorry there is no easier way to do it.
In a future versions it will be easier to do this as you will be able to select specific end points per report.
