Printed doc topics listed in WinXP Recent Documents list

I recently upgraded to RoboHelp 9 from 7. I generated a printed doc and each topic is listed in the Recent Documents list in Windows XP, as follows:
The file names all begin with $HtmlDoc_Chapter_... By the way, these files can't be found once you click one of the names. It looks like some temporary files made during generation. The point is, I don't want them in my Recent Documents list. How can I prevent this from happening?
Thank you.

Am I right in thinking you are generating a Master Document and Sub Documents?
The problem here is that RoboHelp has to create a number of temporary documents in the process and Word notes any documents created. I doubt that RoboHelp can stop Word doing what it is set up to do. There is no interface option so pPlease follow this link and report it as a bug or feature request, depending on your point of view.

  • How can I clear the recent document list on the welcome page?

Have some confidential docs that I don't want to appear when the program is launched. How can I clear the recent document list on the welcome page and the "open recent" list?  thx

It's not an option in the prefs. It's a hidden file that makes up part of the preference set (as far as I know, most, or all of the seetings you can adjust inside ID's prefences dialog are actually saved in the other half of the set, InDesign Defaults). For more information, see Replace Your Preferences

  • More items in "recent places" list when attaching documents?

    Hello,
I find it very useful to have the "recent places" list when browsing for a file I want to attach to an e-mail. In almost all of the other programs I use, however, the recent places list seems to have about twice as many listed as the Mail program. Is there a way to increase the number of items in the recent places list?
    Thanks in adavance!

    Hi David,
The feature request that I would be asking for would be to add to the number of items that appear in the "recent places" list when you go to attach a document to an e-mail. I am a graphic designer, and use the Adobe programs most of the time, and they seem to have about 10 (as opposed to 5) items in the recent places list. Since I jump from project to project, I have several "recent places" and it is a handy and time-saving way of browsing for recently "browsed-for" items. Unfortunately, I find that 5 items it not quite enough-- in going to a new place, the least "recent place" gets bumped off the list. A recent places list of 10 seems to work really well (which is also the number used by Eudora, which I recently gave up in favor of Mail).
Thanks for the link-- I'll make the request!

  • Recent Documents Entry Point - Increase number of documents listed

    Hi there,
Does anyone know how to increase the number of documents that get listed in the "recent documents" entry point. It seems to be set to a default of 5, and I would like it to be more.
    Thanks,
    Tom

So thats the reason, probably you are not using ConsumerExplorer Layout
As the first step then, we need to know then which Layout is been used for this.
The easiest way is to enable debug settings for your user id.
    TO enable debug settings,
    Goto->System Administration->KNowledge Management->Content Management->
    User Interface->(Advanced Mode)->Debugging settings->WDFProxy->
    Enable Rendering Information
Give your portal id in the UI Superusers list.
After this, on every KM  Navigation iView you will get a link called Rendering Information on the top.
This link will help you in finding out which layout is being used for any KM Nav iView.
After finding that, we need to modify the collection renderer applied to this Layout.

  • Missing recent documents in TextEdit/Preview - File

This issue happened after merging a new Tiger OS with an encrypted home directory (File Vault). I can see my recent docs and apps if I switch them on within the System Preferences. Other apps like BBEdit or Microsoft Excel for example are tracking my recent docs also correctly. But the menu recent documents in the applications TextEdit and Preview remain empty independet how many docs I open and save. I therefore tried another user with the same OS without File Vault and everything behaves like normal. If I make a new document within TextEdit and do save it I can see it in the menu File as recently opened documents. Does anybody have an idea? Please HELP!
Mac Pro   Mac OS X (10.4.8)   5GB RAM

The recent documents lists for TextEdit and Preview are contained within their respective preferences files. Try deleting these files and see if that solves the problem:
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.TextEdit.plist
    ~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist
(Where the "~/" is your home directory.)

  • Adobe Reader LE 1.5 and Deleting Recent Documents

On my E71, I am having difficulty deleting PDFs from the Reader's recent document list. There is no option to remove them, and the files don't seem to be stored anywhere in the filesystem that I can get to via Bluetooth or the File Manager.
Any ideas? I hate to have my memory occupied by documents that I'll never need again.
    Thanks, all!

This is the rare annoying thing  i found on N73 too the recent documents list in Adobe reader and real player never gets cleared up initially i found it to happen when i viewd a pdf file directly from the email instead of downloading it to my mobile later that was not the case it remained permanently there for all the files irrespective of viewing it online or storing it to the device. Only way to clear that up is to do a format using *#7370# AFAIK(which will erase all ur phone data) it is a silly thing to do for filename staying in the recent viewed list so i live with it

  • How clear Recent Documents?

How do you clear the recent documents list in the welcome
    screen of Fireworks CS3?
I want to clear it out, not turn it off or anything.

The only way I can think of is by deleting the Fireworks
    Preferences
text file. That will clear every thing in Fireworks memory,
    but it will
also remove any customizations you've made to the UI, and
    reset all the
    program defaults.

  • Recent Documents Forgotten

Running CS6 on XP SP3 and ever since daylight saving finished on the east coast of Australia (nearly a week ago) every morning on startup InDesign asks if I wish to remember the recent documents list.
Can anyone tell me how I can avoid this box popping up every time InDesign is launched.

Try trashing the prefs (or at least the InDesign SavedData file, where th list is stored -- see Replace Your Preferences), but keep in mind this will remove the current recent  list and it need to be rebuilt as you work.

  • HT2458 How do i make my voicemail look kind of like my recent calls list?

Go to settings then general, then Cellular.
There turn cellular data off, then back on.
Now go to voicemail and add your voicemail password, now you should have visual voicemail.

  • Clear Recent Files List from Splash Screen

Hello - I can't see a method of removing the recently used files from being referenced in the DW CC splash screen. How do I clear the list?
    Thanks

Be careful anytime using Regedit and editing the Registry...
If you are using Windows this method should work-
--- this method works for CS6, not sure about (sigh) 'Creative Cloud' ---
    Close Dreamweaver
Press & Hold the Windows key on keyboard>
Type in regedit... click run - click ok when admin. dialog opens>
    Folders on left, click HKEY_CURRENT_USER>
    than click Software>
    than click Adobe>
    than click Dreamweaver CS6>
...scroll until you see the folder 'Recent File List'
    than click Recent File List>
    Again BE CAREFUL!!
Leave the first key which should be (Default), the rest which have names File1, File2, File3, etc., right click and select delete (you can also click and drag to highlight all the ones you want to delete, agree.
    Exit Registry - start Dreamweaver!

  • Missing Topics in Printed Doc

I am losing my mind! I am trying to generate printed doc for
the sole purpose of sorting a bunch of pages in hard copy to
rethink the organization of one part of my projects. Ironically,
every time I generate the printed doc (i've done it about 20 times
so far), these pages are nowhere to be found! I've included them in
the TOC, I've moved them out of a book within a book, I've deleted
them from the TOC and added them to a book that is generated as a
chapter. I've renamed the book to remove non-alpha characters. I've
deleted the book and created a new book with a completely unrelated
name. NOTHING I do will get these pages to print. SO - I have 175
pp. document of the 175 pages that DONT need to be printed and I
can't for the life of me print the +/-20 pages that are the ones I
    want in hard copy.

first, I am using RH version X5.0.2.
    1. On your Project tab, all the way at the bottom, open the
Single Source Layouts directory. Double click on Printed
    Documentation.
    2. Set up your doc name, path, and build expression as
    needed. Click on Next.
    3. This next window is where you can select any or all topics
to include in the printed doc. It defaults, I believe, to all
topics and chapters. Just select each chapter or topic you do not
want and click on the left-pointing arrows to move these topics out
of the list on the right side of the window. Only the topics and
chapters listed in the right side (under chapter layout) will
print. This selection window works much like the Browse Sequencer
    tool.
    4. When all appropriate topics are excluded / included, click
on Next. In this window, you are establishing the sections of the
resulting doc - set up sections as needed. If you aren't publishing
this doc for distribution (just for yourself), I wouldn't worry too
much about this step. Click on Next.
    5. The last step before the doc generates is to determine
which Styles set you will use - the styles you use in RH, or a Word
Style set. Again, since this is just for you, don't sweat it. I
just use the Project's CSS Styles (select this option from the menu
at the top of the window).
    6. Click on Finish, let 'er rip, and see what comes out.

  • Duplicated topics in printed docs

Is there a way to prevent RoboHelp from duplicating topics in
the Print Document Content - Printed Documentation dialog when
generating printed docs? I just noticed my PDFs have doubled
topics. I'm going back and manually deleting them on the dialog.
How did they get duplicated in the first place?

    Hi Gina,
One cause of duplicated topics in your printed documentation
is having topics linked to books in the TOC. If a topic is linked
to a book and also appears separately within the book, it will
appear twice in the printed output.
If that's not the cause, someone else might be able to help.
Have you checked out all the info on Peter Grainge's excellent
site? He's got a whole section on printed documentation. His site
    is
    www.grainge.org.

Make sure that you not run Firefox in [[Private Browsing]] mode.
In Private Browsing mode some menu items are disabled (grayed) and some features like visited links and others are disabled and not working.

  • "Open Recent" list reverts to old documents.

When I try to Numbers (3.5.2) document via the dock or via the menu bar (File>Open Recent), I am given an out-of-date list of documents.  I delete them (File>Open Recent>Clear Menu), find the documents I want and use them, and they will briefly be listed under "Open Recent."  However, by the next day at the latest, all the truly recent documents are off the list, and I have a list the out-of-date list there again.  This is true for Numbers files on my drive and iCloud.  Anyone know a fix?
