Printed User Guide for Elements 6 for Mac

While the very useful downloaded pdf version from Adobe is in color, I discovered that the images in the printed guide from Adobe are in black and white, and are not of the same quality.

I have the printed Users Guide for Windows PS Elements 6 and it is also in black and white. To me the quality of the black and white images in the Windows book is OK: however the absence of color is very significant for some images. I have not seen the book for the Mac so I can't comment on image quality.
I can only suggest using a combination of the book plus the PDF file images displayed on screen.

  • Download or disk for Elements 9 (Mac)

I had many problems with Elements 8 (Mac) and eventually just dumped it. Life is too short. The other day I downloaded Elements 9 (Mac), which crashed twice when I tried to send a pic to Facebook. But I like Elements 9 (Mac) and willing to give it a fair trial. Question: should EL9 crash or should I change to a new computer, would I be better to buy EL9 on a disk or just buy the trial version I have downloaded? Advice appreciated. Pat

Just to note: you can use the serial number from either a download or the boxed version. The only difference is that if you buy the box you get a serial number which can be used on either platform, so you could use that serial number on either two windows computers, two macs, or one of each. The download gives you a serial number that only works on macs.
So you can just shop around for the best price. Usually you can find the box for considerably less than the download (at least in the US), since it's a popular loss leader for many big box stores and amazon often offers a substantial discount as well.

  • Problems running the installer for Elements 11 - Mac

    Mac OS10.8.3
    15" Retina 2.7GHz  16GB RAM
    I have downloaded the installation file for Elements 11 using the Adobe Installer; upon running the installer I get an invalid checksum error.  Tried repeated times, same result.  Tried disabling checksum check in disk utility, lets me get one step futther to see the installer package contents upon mounting the .dmg.  When I run the installer, error message appears as follows;
    Failed to initialise Installer
I got a message to install the Adobe Support Advisor, which I did.  I ran it, and it did not detect any issues.
Have also tried using disk utility to verify and repair the downlaoded adobe dmg before mounting it - no change in the error when I try to run the installer.
    Any advice?
    Thanks, JB.

  • USER GUIDE OR TUTORIAL FOR K450 KEYBOARD

    Hello to all,
I am new to this community and happy to find out it exists.
I have recently acquired a K450 machine and it of course it has the Black Silk Keyboard.
I need some help on finding a userguide, manual or illustration for this keyboard, as their are keys on it, I have no clue as to what they are for.
I would like to get the most use out of it as possible.
I originally wanted to know where the "Power Button" existed on this keyboard. That led me to read and find out that in many cases, there is a Power Button on most keyboards.
All these years, I did not realize that.  I have depended on the mouse or physical power button on any given PC.
I am trying to find out also, how via keyboard, to wake the K450 out of hibernation.
All suggestions and info are deeply appreciated.
    THANKS!

    Welcome to the forum LIZZARDLOVER5200,
There's not a lot of information out on the web about the keyboards.
I did find something about the Lenovo Enhanced Performance keyboard. It may be a help to you.

  • Which user guide for iPad2

If you upgrade your iPad2 with 5.0 software do you stop using the user guide marked iPad2(for ios4.2) and use the guide labelled iPad user guide (for ios5.0) even though it does not say for iPad2 or is that understood when I upgraded?

    Sure thing......

  • Is it possible to purchase Adobe Premiere Elements 13 user guide

Is it possible to purchase Adobe Premiere Elements 13 user guide.

    learnerinneed
Thanks for the follow up. With the cost of ink and paper these days, the Help PDF shines as a PDF file saved to the computer hard drive for reference. In the later versions, the PDF has hundred plus pages.
I did purchase Photoshop Elements 6 and Premiere Elements 4 in the box packaging when they were released. I still have them installed on my computer even when I went on to later versions and other computer operating systems. I have not looked at what was in the box since the purchase. I looked tonight in the box to refresh my memory as to what User Manual might have been included.
What I found for Premiere Elements 4 in the way of a User Manual as a 23 page booklet titled
    Adobe
    Premiere
    Elements 4
    Getting Started Guide
    Windows XP
    Windows Vista
Is this the Premiere Elements Users Manual for PE4 to which you referred?
We would be glad for the opportunity to be of assistance in threads if you have questions about the program and need clarification on anything written here or elsewhere on the program's features and workflows. If you are used to working with Premiere Elements 4, then period of adjustment will set in...major change in features and workspaces with versions later than 10. Principles tend to remain the same, but it is very frustrating to be armed with principles when you cannot find a feature.
We are not Adobe here...rather user to user. And, this user wants you to succeed. Exploration and experimentation are major tools for success.
    Best wishes

  • Positive surprise: PSE 4.0 came along with a 200+ page User Guide

Today, when I got by regular mail my PSE 4.0 version, the box containing the Software contained also a User Guide of a little more than 200 pages.
This is in contrast to the PSE 3.0 box that I got one year earlier: it contained only a 70-page "Getting Started" that I did not find helpful.
I am quite happy about this change.
But I still have a documentation wish for next version: a good document describing in details all enhancements of the new version (including important fixes). Its OK, if this additional document will be a downloadable document.

    Robert,
Yes, I agree that the inclusion of a User Guide book will be viewed as good news by people who prefer to read paper. However, in my USA retail box, the book is missing a significant number of topics. These are easily identified by the question marks instead of page numbers in the Table of Contents.
Someone pointed out to me that the product CD has a PDF file of the User Guide which does contain all the topics (including the topics missing from the printed book). My experience is that this PDF file is not copied to your hard drive during the installation process.
After doing a general review of the User Guide content, it appears to be the same as the Contents of the program Help.
My summary is that there appear to be three options for PSE 4
1- Read the printed User Guide book (if your purchase included it) realizing that some topics may be missing.
2- Use the PDF version of the User Guide from the product CD or copy it to your hard drive.
3- Use the product Help functions.

  • Quicktime Pro 7 user guide?

I recently purchased QT 7 Pro and was wondering where I might find an in depth user guide to explain some of the advanced settings i.e. codec settings/encoding strategies when using the export function. I would like some in depth explanations of things like the difference between profiles when encoding to H264 (baseline, main, extended etc), and the difference between using H264 via the 'Movie to Quicktime Movie' or 'Movie to MPEG4' option, and many other things.
I tried on the support page on the apple site but the relevant link is dead!
    Any help appreciated
    Thanks

Yep. It's gone and the link is dead. There is a new "Windows" user guide but the older Mac one I can't find. The apps are nearly identical on both OS's.
    http://developer.apple.com/referencelibrary/QuickTime/index.html
They must be rewriting it to update for last months changes (the iPod effect).
I've read nearly every file I could get my hands on. Most shoot right over my head as they are written for programmers and there is no explanations of the various codecs and options in most docs I could find.
I got so frustrated I wrote my own 250 page PDF named "QuickTime Pro: Explained" and am updating it to include the newest features found in version 7. Almost ready to post this newer version (a few more days) and buyers of the current version will get a free upgrade when I post the revised PDF. It will be about 30 pages longer and include new tutorials for the iPod as well as dozens of version 7 screen shots.
Each time I'm ready to post the newer version Apple has updated QT 7. The newest features revolve around H.264 and the iPod settings. The current book offers an average QT Pro user some basic understanding and a complete list of all the codecs and settings found in QT 6.5.2. The new PDF will become two books in one. You can find a link to the download page by viewing my Public Profile.
*Notice* I may benefit financially from the link. The PDF costs $12.

  • Need a Users Guide or Manual Satellite Pro

I searched the forum and followed instructions for getting or downloading a users guide.  However, for the Satellite Pro L300-EZ1523 there is no user's guide.  How come? and maybe a manual is different thing entirely?  Would really like to have one.  Just bought this laptop, really like it so far, but want to make the best use of it.

  • Home screen user guide icon

How can I add a home screen app icon for IOS 8?

    Hi kenfromplainview,
It's a bit unclear, but I believe you would like to know how to bookmark pages from Safari as icons on your Home Screen. If that is correct, you can find more information here in the iPhone User Guide:
    Keep bookmarks - iPhone
Save an icon for the current page on your Home screen. Tap , then tap Add to Home Screen. The icon appears only on the device where you create it.
Here is link you can use to create that icon:

  • Is there a Yosemite manual/user guide I can print that I don't have to pay for?

Is there a Yosemite manual/user guide that I cad download and print sections if I need to?  They charge you for the ones in the apple store.
    thanks

    Yankeedownsouth,
if you wanted you could look at the information on http://www.apple.com/support/osx/ Its not really a Manual/User Guide per say. but its free and it has a lot of information about your mac. It also links you to very informative information.
    Examples of information found:
Information for those new to mac:
    http://help.apple.com/osx-yosemite/whats-new/new-to-mac/#/darf5cbf2bc7
    Changes from Mavericks:

Apps from your mac, what they are used for, and links to their help info.

Also a really great resource for finding how to do stuff is the ( Help ) menu located in all the apps.
    Hope that helps,
