Printer app starts when turning on computer.

Hi, this isn't a big deal, just an annoying one.
My printer software starts up when I turn on my computer. It didn't do that before. It just takes longer for my computer to start up.
This is happening on my PM G5. The printer is a photosmart C7180 AIO.
Thanks everyone!

Yes. It will open on demand, and close when the print job is done, assuming you do not bring it to the foreground. If you do bring it to the foreground, you can simply quit when the printing is complete.

  • How make my internet open/start immediately when turn on computer?

How make my internet open/start immediately when turn on computer?
ps: using FFox, if it makes any difference.
    Don't think I wont't thank you, Cuz
    I will.

    Thank you verry much, HipHop.
FFox has long been on my doc.
I clicked it and it shows i have instructed it to 'Open at Login'.
Same thing with Apple/Prefs/Accounts/Login items where it shows i have instructed it, and also Safari now, to Open at Login (and not checked to Hide).
    But still it never opens.
Safari opens at login. But not Firefox.
And it's not that the 2 are conflicting, cuz
    I had this problem with FFox long time when started this question;
and I only just the other day added Safari to open at login cuz I was advised to try it just to see if Saf wd open on Login.
I did contact my isp, dslextreme, but they couldn't help me other than the advice I've already gotten here, said not their specialty, that I should ask Apple or FFox (I'll try that).
    Thanks again, everybody.
I still dream of what I will do with all the time I will save someday by not having to actually click on the FFox icon to start it. Call me a dreamer, but I'm not the only one (or am i?)

  • How to automatically open selected docs when turn on computer?

How to open automatically selected docs when turn on computer? (Text Edit docs particularly, and others)
I wist not that I must tediously select and open my same usual documents one by one, each time I turn on computer to work.
I either have to find my usual documents under "File/OpenRecent"
&/or search through the FINDER for them.
I wonder if anybody else has every had this problem before, and found a solution?
Has modern technology advanced to the point where this can be done automatically?
(Now it just occurred to me that
I could put my 'usual documents' (or Alias) into a separate Envelope
    in the finder, and
then select them all at once and click to Open all at the same time.
But is that the best or only solution?)
There's a grateful thank you, two (2) "Helpful's", and 1 "Solver" award to be given out. Good luck.

    Cool. Coolidge, indeed. So wise.

Shutdown the computer. You will see a dialog:
Uncheck the option to reopen windows. Now open General preferences in System preferences. Check the box labeled Close windows when quitting ....

  • Losing app docs when turning off docs & data iCloud backup switch.

Will I lose the documents in my I annotate app if I turn off the docs & data switch in my iPad?  I don't know if there is a difference between docs saved directly to the iPad vs saved through an app like I annotate witch is saved to the iPad or cloud. I CANNOT afford to lose these docs & data.  However, I must back this up.

New question, I'm trying to do a software update, the iOS 7.1.2.  I keep getting an error.  What do I need to do?  FYI, I cleared out my iCloud backup & I have 4.8 G of my 5 G iCloud storage.  Don't know if that matters.  Please help, thank you.

  • How do I get to the startup menu. I have 6 apps start when I power on that I want to turn off.

I want to turn off some of the apps when my system starts up. There are about 6 apps, programs, that start and it takes too long for the mac to get going.

Two possibilities: Open System Preferences, select Users & Groups, and right above your user picture you'll see buttons for Password and Login Items. Select Login Items. In the window pane you'll see a list of items that are selected for startup at login. Select an item you don't want and click on the minus button at the bottom of the pane.
If any (or all) of the programs that are starting up don't appear in this list it means that these programs were running when you shut the computer down. In Lion, by defaul, any program running when the computer is shut down will automatically restart. There's a dialog box that appears when you select logout or restart which allows you to cancel this for that logout only. In other words, you much click the checkmark each time you logout/quit. I don't shutdown often and have an SSD so this behavior doesn't annoy me much, except at work where i don't have an SSD and I do shut down more often.

  • Apple mail pop up when turn on computer

My Apple mail popup when i Turn on my computer...how do i disengage it.

When you log back in do this:
Go to the Apple Menu bar and click the Apple Logo, then click on System Preferences.
Inside the System Preferences menu look for the "Users & Groups" icon.
Once that menu is opened, you should see two buttons. One is called "Password" and the other is "Login Items". Click "Login Items".
In there you should see a list of programs that launch at boot up.
Find Apple Mail, click it, and then press the "minus" ("-") sign.
    Close System Preferences.
Try rebooting your Mac. When you log back in Apple Main should not launch.
    Hope this helps!

  • IMac gray screen when turning off computer

I added an external harddrive for timeline, since doing so I have had problems when I try to turn off the computer. It has a gray screen with a little circle that cycles. What can I do to stop that?

    Hello,
Ideally you need to boot from the disk as you have no other media advisable. (e.g your hard drive)
Without some form of system disk or restore you wont be able to diagnose the problem with your hard drive.
By using a Mac OS X system disk you can load up the Disk Utilities and repair the hard drive if shown it's available. If it's not available you would need to replace the hard drive and reinstall Mac OS. Without any disk to support you, you are going to struggle.
You can obtain replacement disk, both retail copies or system disk on the Internet.
If you know what version of Mac OS X you had install (I'm guessing that it would have been 10.3, but would recommend 10.4) A retail disk is normally black with a colored 'X' on it, while system disk are always.
Always try and obtain a copy of the system restore disks (Gray) for your iBook
Ebay is another outlet that has genuine system disk for sell, but like any auction site, it's as and when someone is selling them.
The only other thing you could do is take it to a Apple repair agent who could check the hard drive on your behalf. That way you can get confirmation if the problem is the drive or some other fault. They may even help restore the OS for you.
I can't think of anything else to try without some form of disk to help you.
There maybe just one other small thing you could try.
When booting up, firmly rest your palm of your hand on the iBook next to the tracker pad on the left side.
If it works then it's another fault that I'm aware of.

  • My system crashed several months ago -- had to go back to start, when i bought computer -i have reloaded firefox - and now i can not get pictures on Facebook -mine or any one else in the news feed

When I first downloaded Firefox- everything was normal -- then my computer had to be taken back to the way it was from the factory. I had Trojans. Now I have reloaded Firefox, and I get no pictures on Facebook. I get all of the graphics when I go to a game site, and it is fast--Thank you!!, but when I am on my Homepage or News feed, all I get are the names, but no pictures of my friends or what they have posted --pictures. In my profile, I have no picture of myself that I have posted, or in my albums.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 4 times now, and still the same thing. PLEASE HELP ME-- I DO NOT LIKE WINDOWS EXPLORER-- IT IS SLOWER THAN MOLASSES IN A BLIZZARD-- IT TAKES MINUTES TO LOAD SOME OF MY GAMES-- AND SOME WON'T LOAD AT ALL.

With Facebook on display, click on the site identity button (for details on what that is see the [[site identity button]] article) and then on More Information. This will open up the page info dialog.
First select the Permissions panel, make sure that "Load Images" is set to allow (selecting Use Default should also work)
Next select the Media panel, then click on the first item in the list. Use the down arrow key to scroll through the list. If any item has the option "Block images from (domain name)" selected, de-select the option.
This should hopefully resolve your issue, but also see [[Images or animations do not show]].
Some add-ons can also block images, for example if you have AdBlock Plus installed, make sure that you have not accidentally created a filter to block the images.

When I turn on my Mac Book Pro all I get is a blinking forder icon with a question mark in it in the middle of the screen. What does this mean and how can I fix it?

  • Why don't my Automator Apps start when I open them?

Ever since upgrading to Mountain Lion, my Automator Apps will not automatically start.  Even if I manually open them, nothing happens.  The only way that I can get them to perform their designated tasks is to open them indirectly through the Automator and and manually run them as a workflow from within that application.  It didn't used to be this way and it still says that their applications are self-running workflows.  Does anyone know how to fix this?

If you lose sounds for keyboard clicks, games or other apps, email notifications and other notifications, system sounds have been muted.
System sounds can be muted and controlled two different ways. The screen lock rotation can be controlled in the same manner as well.
Settings>General>Use Side Switch to: Mute System sounds. If this option is selected, the switch on the side of the iPad above the volume rocker will mute system sounds. So check the side switch first if you have no sounds.
If you choose Lock Screen Rotation, then the switch locks the screen. If the screen is locked, you will see a lock icon in the upper right corner next to the battery indicator gauge.
If you have the side switch set to lock screen rotation then the system sound control is in the task bar. Double tap the home button and in the task bar at the bottom, swipe all the way to the right. The speaker icon is all the way to the left. Tap on it and system sounds will return.
If you have the side switch set to mute system sounds, then the screen lock rotation can be accessed via the task bar in the same manner as described above.
This support article from Apple explains how the side switch works.
