Printer communication issues?: HP P2035 P1606 P1102W and Samsung CLP-315

Dear Common Wisdom:
Has anyone had problems communicating with any of these printers?
HP P2035 P1606 P1102W and Samsung CLP-315
After three hours with tech support on the phone we could not get my MacBook Pro to communicate with the Lexmark E360D. They suggested I return it!
Thanks in advance for your comments.

Any fix for the PC based network printer communication issue with Mavericks?

I just signed up for FIOS and am not experiencing your problem (had enough other ones instead).
Go to mail preferences ~ click on a mail account ~ click on the advanced tab. The only settings that worked for me were: port 110 SSL OFF, authentication: Authenticated POP (APOP). If I remember correctly when I first set this up another window opened and I typed in my password and never had to do that again.
    Hope this helps.

  • Samsung CLP-315 and Airport Extreme, sporadically does not print

    Hi:
    I am using MacBook Pro, OS X 10.5.8, Dual-band Airport Extreme with v.7.4.2, and a Samsung CLP-315.
Previously I had Airport Express and had trouble printing. I fixed it with the workaround using HP Jetdirect with address 10.0.1.1:9101. I then upgraded to Airport Extreme and that fix did not work. I deleted the printer from Print & Fax and added again with Bonjour. Since, it has been printing sporadically. Sometimes, it simply does not print. I have tried to pin down what causes it, but I have only been able to consistently reproduce the error when trying to print from Graphic Converter. Other applications print sporadically.
I have tried to download the new drivers from Samsung, but that has not solved it. I have tried to recreate the workaround through HP Jetdirect, but I always get a "printer busy" error when printing (using both 9100 and 9101)
I also tried to run FixAirportPrinter and although the application sees the printer when launched, after running the application the same symptoms remain.
Any help on how to resolve this is greatly appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Rodrigo

This is to say that I have exactly the same problem with a Samsung CLP-310 unit. I have 2 Books as below.
My older powerbook has no problem printing to this printer. My newer Intel unit will not print.
If I open Airport utilities on the 10.4 Powerbook and select "Base Station options" I can see the Samsung printer under USB devices. If I repeat the process on my 10.5 Intel unit and double-click on the Airport, the properties page shows the Samsung CLP-310 but it I go to USB devices they are empty.
What gives? The SAME Airport only prints to a USB printer if it is sent from a Power PC Book?
The Samsung CLP-310 is connected directly to the USB Airport output.

  • Are there still issues with HDMI with Fios and samsung Tvs

Are there still issues with HDMI with Fios and samsung Tvs?  If so what samsung Tvs are affected? I have the HP T4254 42 inch plasma.  Thanks
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

HDMI issues abound with all providers and all TV manufacturers. Samsung does seem to have its fair share of the complaints, and not just with Verizon FIOS. Always make sure you have the latest firmware for your TV. Others seem to find success by reverting to component plus audio cables (still full 1080i). A quick search of these forum for "HDMI handshake issues" will reveal several threads for you to study. Also try other forums for other providers. Another resource is avsforum.com where you can specifically search for problems unique to your very model of TV.

  • Samsung CLP-315 Color Laser - Issues After 10.6.3

I've been using a Samsung CLP-315 with 10.6.x without issue until the 10.6.3 update. Now when attempting to print, jobs go to the queue and the printer light blinks (like it's receiving data), but nothing prints. The job does leave the print queue and is listed in the "Completed Jobs" list.
I have re-installing both the Apple Samsung Driver update and the 2.0 printer drives from the Samsung support site. I have also deleted the print queue and re-created the queue. After doing all of this, it now prints every -once in a while-, but not every time. This is also a shared printer and other 10.6.3 clients on my local network have the same issue.
Any suggestions or feedback would be great -- thanks!
    Walter

I wanted to post about my situation, partly to add my voice, partly as a way to move on to more important and less annoying issues.
I bought the CLP-315 about nine months ago. It worked flawlessly until about two weeks ago. I can't recall the order of events, but my problems seemed to begin when I installed the smart panel so that I could check on the number of print jobs and the estimated toner left. This may have been about the time I 1) replaced one of the toner cartridges, and 2) received the Samsung driver update.
Sometimes it prints every other job. Sometimes it prints once after a power cycle. Sometimes the printer makes noise for about four sections as it does when it worked, but then falls silent just when I would normally hear the paper begin to move. Other times, when I try to print, I hear a simple solenoid click, then nothing.
I wondered if it was the printer itself, until I found this discussion. Also, the printer works flawlessly if I use Bootcamp and boot into Windows XP Home.
I have tried removing Smart Panel, using Time Machine to move the Samsung files back to a month ago, and have reset the printing system multiple times. Sometimes it seems to work a few times, but eventually it either stops working with 10.6 completely or drops every other job.
    Thanks,
    Steve

  • How do I install a samsung clp-315 printer under Lion?

I have upgraded to Lion. This morning I uninstalled my Samsung CLP-315 printer (I was trouble shooting & thought it would be easy to re-install). When I try to re- install via the system preferences my computer recognises the printer is there and tries to get the software to drive it from
When I click Add I get this message:
I have also tried downloading the driver from Samsung's  Web site but I still can't re-install the printer.
Would appreciate comments/help to get it going again.
    Thanks

I had this problem with my Samsung CLX3185, For some other reason I had to restart. After that restart when I got around to it again, I could install it. Hope it helps. Also, Samsung printer software update is available via software update. Suggest run the SW update, restart and try again.

  • Samsung CLP-315 doesn't print

I was looking through this discussions for two days now and tried everything to make my Samsung CLP-315 print via Time Capsule. If I plug the printer into my iMac it works fine, but if I plug it into Time Capsule it will print a few times only. I'm very disappointed because the printer is Mac compatible and Time Capsule is supposed to support all printers, since there is no list of supported printers.
I guess it can only be a compatibility problem...

It seems like this list is marketed a lot by the experts. Can you please teach us to fish? What are the specs to look for / ask about to determine compatibility? HP had a matrix on their drivers of some sort on their website a while back, but cannot find it.
The problem is this - folks want to buy a printer; which should they buy? Apple keeps thinking of the problem as - i have a printer, how do i get it to work. The latter may be valid - but I keep reading the former and it doesn't appear as if it can be addressed.
Please help us use your products. thank you.

  • Samsung CLP-315 printer not happy with Snow Leopard

I got a Samsung CLP-315 color laser printer about 6 months ago. I had it connected to an iMac G5 (PPC) running Tiger. It worked wonderfully. Well, the iMac died so I got a new Mac Mini (Intel running Snow Leopard). Well, now things are not working very well. When I try to print, sometime it prints, other times I need to power cycle the printer, then when I try to print it works. Printing remotely from my other iMac used to work flawlessly, now it is interemittent. For example, when I try to print a PDF file remotely it won't print. I've very dissapointed that moving to the newest OS causes problems.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks

I think I may have fixed the problem. I haven't done extensive testing, but...
I turned off the printer. I used the install CD that came with the printer. I performed an Uninstall operation. Then I opened System Preferences -> Pring & Fax, and deleted the printer. Then I turned on the printer and Snow Leopard asked me if I wanted to install the driver. I said yes and it went looking. When it completed the printer showed up in my print preferences. This time the picture of the printer showed up in the preferences. Before that it was a generic looking printer. Maybe these drivers are newer/better. We'll see.

  • Samsung CLP-315 and SmartPanel app

I'm trying to get my Samsung CLP-315 working under Mavericks.  The printer works fine, but the Smart Panel app just throws an icon on the menu bar, but it's greyed out.  Anyone find a solution for this?

Looks like I answered my own question.  The Smart Panel only works if you download the drivers from Samsung.  The Apple supplied drivers don't work with the Smart Panel app.  At least that's how I fixed my problem after messing with it for a few hours.

  • Samsung clp 315 not printing with os 10.5.8

i have a samsung clp printer that i bought with my mbp a year and a half ago. after working nearly flawlessly for all this time, suddenly i'm having problems printing. nothing shows up in the print que after i sent it and of course nothing prints. i have re-installed both the drivers and the printer itself many times and i still can't print. i don't have access to printing on my campus because my tech support "doesn't support macs" and my mbp is apparently incompatible with every single printer on campus and the whole system. my printer is conected through my time capsule, which i connect to my mbp via ethernet cable. the wireless stopped working when i upgraded to the 1tb model. previously this configuration worked great. even when i directly connect my printer to my mbp i cannot print. are there any fixes yet??? i would happily roll back to a previous version if the issue is the latest update, however i have no idea how to do this. i purchased a mac because "it just works" and am afraid of messing something up. can anyone help!!?? i have stuff that needs to be printed for school and i'm at a total loss.

I have the same issue. The current Samsung print driver has a bug whereby it will not print a document if the application from which you are printing is different from the application you used last time you printed. The workaround is to restart the printer whenever it does this. I have written to Samsung about this.

  • Many communication issues between Photoshop CC 2014 and Bridge since update

Since I upgraded Photoshop to the CC 2014 version, I've had many issues on using Ps and Bridge together.  Here they are:
    1. Mini Bridge is absent
    2. When clicking to "Browse in Bridge" from Photoshop, the window for my Creative Cloud app opens instead with a message asking whether I am sure if I want to update to "this version of Bridge" (image below). I already updated Bridge and re-installed it, but the same problem keeps occurring.
    3. This one is the most frustrating one: the tools menu in Bridge does not show the options for opening images in Photoshop anymore.  This was invaluable when working with Bridge and Photoshop at the same time.
The thing is that these issues have been going on for a long, long time, and I don't see any messages from Adobe to at least explain the reason for such blunders.  There are many people complaining of the same issues here in this forum, so how come no fixes, no responses from Adobe yet?
Please let me know if you've found a fix for this.
    Many thanks!

I do not use the bridge often mostly just use it to edit metadata.  I never remember tools being available in the right click on thumbnails menu list. Tools a bridge menu in its manu bar when all start-up scripts are enabled Photoshop should be in it.. If the start-up scripts are not enable you must enable them and then restart the Bridge for them to be available. My Bridge CC tools menu after being updated for CC 2014 has the same tools menu option Photoshop with 8 items. Are you writing you no longer have a Bridge CC tools menu with Photoshop and the 8 options?  I use windows and though I use Adobe Bridge CC 64 bit version the startup script folder that seems to be used for Adobe Bridge CC 64 bit is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CC\Adobe Bridge" Program File (x86) don't know why and in there there should be a file "bridge-6.jsx"  I also see a "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Startup Scripts CC\Adobe Bridge" with the same file in it however Adobe Bridge CC 64Bit seems to use the Programs Files (x86) path for when I put my startup script for X's Image Processor Pro into the Programs Files path Bridge CC 64bit did not list it as an available startup script. Adobe software is far from being bug free.  I have no idea where startup bridge scripts reside your Mac use finder to make sure there is a  "bridge-6.jsx"  startup script...

  • Re: critical scrupdate to correct a PC to printer communication issue , dot ubber?

Excuse me but you skipped right over my question to answer the person under me.  Nothing that has been posted works for me.
I accidentally cancelled a critical update.  How can I get it back to install it? I see it in the history of my Support Assitant but it will not let me click on it, as it has a red X to the left of it.

    Hi there jan92859;
    I did not went over your post but I should have acknowledge that I was doing a bit of research;
What Operating System do you have?
Well how long ago was this, you can do a system restore and you should get the update back as you might understand this is a completely different issue as the original issue on the thread but I will do my best to help you never the less.
Go and try the sysyem restore, remember that the file and documents will not be affected.
    Hope this helps!

  • MAC OS 10.5.7 and Samsung CLP-610ND color laser printer, images very dark

Just picked up this printer 3 days ago, set up fine prints word files fine. Any images print very dark. MY main use is printing a pdf newsletter but the print image is so dark it is useless. I have tried print as image. I have also tried a plain jpg from camera and that was also very dark. Talked to Samsung and they said it was my computer and I should return it. Not what I want to do.
Also I took my pdf file and tried ot on other laser printers that had a Secure digital file reader and the colors were correct some with my HO color inkjet.
So printing through adobe or preview images are too dark.
    Any thoughts?
    Thanks in advance.

Went back to HP.com and this time was able to see and download latest driver and firmware for HP LaserJet P3005dn  Installation of new firmware was done thru the HP Printer Utility application on my iMac OS 10.7.5
I was able to choose my printer and then upload the firmware file from the iMac to the printer. This has completely solved the problem!
Thank you ~graffiti Not sure why I was not able to access the driver and firmware earlier from the HP site but eventually I found it.

  • Duplex printing on a Samsung CLP-550n

I'm running a MacBook Pro with Leopard and have been printing (one-sided) quite happily to our networked Samsung CLP-550n. But, I can't print duplex, the option is greyed out in the printer dialogue box yet from other macs around the office its possible? The default on the printer is set to long-edge binding duplex printing.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Alright, it really was a coincidence. However, the printer is using up way too much toner, the text is all blurry. I've already lowered the quality to draft, but it's not enough.
This printer is known to use a lot of toner, but not that much. I had to adjust some settings under Windows, too, to reduce the consumption, but it wasn't so bad that the writing was blurry. And I can only adjust the quality in Linux, I didn't find any other options to play with.

  • Printing Issues with HP OfficeJet 100 and Windows 8.1

We use HP OfficeJet 100 mobile printers and have a printing issue. When we print the printer acts as if it is going to print and then prints one blank page.Printer will not print even though it is showing as default printer.Printer will just stop printing in the middle of a document, even in the middle of printing out a page. We are printing via the USB cableWe are using Windows 8.1We are connecting to laptopsWe have been using the HP mobile range of printers since 2004 and have only experienced these issues since we moved the laptops onto Windows 8/8.1 We have:Uninstalled and reinstalled the printer drivers – this fixed this issue for a short while and then it reappeared againCalled HP support and they directed us to the driver support page which had the latest print drivers, uninstalled and reinstalled drivers with them on the phone. This initially fixed the problem and then it returned a few days laterAfter trawling the support forums found directions to change the print processor to “WinPrint” – No effect as the processor was already on this settingDownloaded the HP diagnostic tool – HP Print and Scan Doctor – didn’t fix anything Any further help would be much appreciated.

Hello there Lawrence, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the troubles you are running into when you attempt to install your OJ 6100 printer on your Windows 8.1 laptop. I read all of your attempts and seen you have tried several methods to try and get the installation to complete successfully.
I would like to make some suggestions that may help. Let me know how it goes!
    1. Check that Internet Explorer pop-up blockers are turned off before downloading the installer
Internet Explorer Pop-up Blocker: How do I turn off Pop-up Blocker?
    Try to install
    2. If you're running McAfee Live Safe or any other firewall, please temporarily disable the "real time scanning".
    How to disable realtime scans
    Try the install
    3. Go to the start screen (you may also press the windows key + R to open the run box) and type %WINDIR% this should show the windows folder.
Click on the folder and scroll until you see files. Look for a filed named "HPWINS*.DAT" (the * is for a number that varies) remove this file and try the installation.
    Try the install
