Printer compatible with Windows 2000 and Windows 8 operating system?

My office needs to access a terminal server hosted offsite.  The terminal server uses Windows 2000.  My laptop is Windows 8.   Since I upgraded my laptop I am no longer able to print.  Do they make a computer that is compatible with both versions of Windows?  Is there a fix?  I should also mention, I purchased a new HP and it wouldn't work either.  augh!

Windows 2000 has been successfully tested with the AT interface card. The file: "Win2000Issues.rtf" (located in the "nifbus" directory) illustrates how to install the AT-FBUS interface card under the Windows 2000 platform. However, the PCMCIA-FBUS card is not supported at this time. In order to use the software under Windows 2000 the "MFC42.dll" file must be in the same folder as the Configurator, otherwise display problems may be experienced.
Windows ME has also been tested with both the AT and PCMCIA interface boards and appears to work well. Additionally, the Configurator software has proven to be stable under ME.

    Hello,
Can I mount my external hard drive which will be compatible with both Mac and Windows? If yes, then please let me know, because I intend to use my hard drive for both Windows and Mac, without losing any file.

Yes. By default, Mac OS X and Windows can read and write drives which are formatted as FAT32 or exFAT; NTFS drives aren't writable from Mac OS X without additional software.

  • What writer programs are compatible with XP Pro and windows 7?

I want to go from Adobe 4.0 Writer to more current versions, but I see that v9.0 Pro is not compatible with Windows 7.
I need to be able to copy from pdfs to word or excel and have it correctly populated.  I do a lot of work with Excel and need this ability.  I can do it with v7.0 but that is not my copy and I do not like the way a document prints to the PDF file because it crops the data.

  • Remote desktop connection issue with an RDP client while connecting to some of windows 2008 and 2003 operating system flavors and not receiving SDin value choice 26 from DomainMCSPDU

    Hi Team
We have our RDP client and i came across with one issue "Expected data got 3" with this client.
This issue is getting while connecting some of below operating system flavors.
    Microsoft Windows 2008 Enterprise edition
    Microsoft Windows 2008 Standard edition
    Microsoft Windows 2003 servers
When we are trying to get RDP to those servers with our client, getting "Expected data got 3" error. One more main thing here is the specified error is not getting for all the servers of same operating system in above list.
Able to get the RDP console for those servers using mstsc client.
When i read the [MS-RDPBCGR] specification, i found the below points
mcsSDin (variable): Variable-length PER-encoded MCS Domain PDU (DomainMCSPDU) which encapsulates an MCS Send Data Indication structure (SDin, choice 26 from DomainMCSPDU), as specified in [T125] section 11.33 (the ASN.1 structure definitions
are given in [T125] section 7, parts 7 and 10). The userData field of the MCS Send Data Indication contains a Security Header and a Valid Client License Data (section 2.2.1.12.1) structure.
In my code i am not getting SDin value as 26. Is it the problem with Remote desktop Licensing in RDP servers as specified in the specification like "The userData field of the MCS Send Data Indication contains a Security Header and a Valid
Client License Data (section 2.2.1.12.1) structure."
Could you please explain me is this issue is happening due to Licence configuration in RDP server and please provide support with server side configuration if any because our code works for other servers ?
    Thanks & Regards,
    Pavan G.

  • Is my HP DesignJet 430 compatible with Autocad 2009 and Windows 7 Professional?

I have an HP DJ 430 plotter that I have not used for at least 3 computers hence.  It prints a test page OK.  I need to know if there are current drivers for Windows 7 and/or AutoCad 2009 or 2010.

  • Oracle stability on Windows 2000 and Windows 2003

    Hello everyone,
since the beginning of my career in the database world (5 years ago), I work in a company where the operating system we are using is windows.
Since the beginning, we are shutting down and restarting every database server (including the OS) on a weekly basis to ensure stability I suppose.
    My question is:
Is it still a "good practice" to do that (restarting every database server)? On windows 2000? On windows 2003?
If it is still a "good practice", should it be done on a weekly basis or more on a monthly basis?
Thank's for any input on this open question.
    Best regards,
    Carl

I ran a 9i RAC on Win2K3 for over 16 months and only periodic reboots for maintenance (OS patches). I had a scheduled time each month (4 hours) to shutdown, take a cold backup, patch the OS, and get everything back up in time for production. This seemed to work just fine. I would caution not to upgrade all your nodes with the OS patches at the same time, however. Leapfrog them so a single bad patch doesn't kill your entire DB.

  • Wireless printer sharing with windows 7 and vista operating systems.

    hello can anyone help me?
i have a new HP pc with windows 7 OS, and have an epson PX710W 3in1 printer.
i want to connect a laptop with vista OS to share the printer (wireless set up).
the pc will print documents ok via wireless link, but when i power up the laptop it appears to inhibit the printing function (document will not print).
i have set up file/ print sharing but there is the problem. it appears to me that sharing is only possible between pc,s etc with windows 7 OS via the homegroup set up. Has  anyone encountered this problem at all, has anyone any ideas? or is it a configuration problem that i'm not aware of?

I found that I had issues with getting all of these to work - individually.  I have an XPPro (32) pc trying to print to Win7Ultimate printer - printer is shared with all settings wide open, works great with another 7 or Vista machine, but same errors
as above for XP.  I got it to work an old way, and then the "local port" way worked.  I don't really know why as yet, but I am investigating.
    My Solution -
    1. As stated in other posts, install the printer locally on the XP machine.  Make sure that it prints.
2. Connect the printer to the 7 machine, print a test, then change the file and print sharing options to "yes".  I also installed the "Universal Driver" for my printer - HP1200 Laserjet.
    3. Make sure that the Network type that the 7 machine sees is "Work" or "Home", not "Public". -  I don't know if this really  did anything or not, but I did make the change - mine thought the network was "Public".
    4. Go back to the XP machine, if you get errors when you add the "Local Port" as suggested, then do this -
    Warning Old Dos Trick -
         -  Open a Command Prompt, then type (without quotes) "net use Lpt1 \\COMPUTERNAME\PRINTERSHARE " - where "computername" is the name of the computer and sharename is the shared name of the printer
    on that computer.
        - you SHOULD see "command completed successfully", if not check to make sure that you have rights on the 7 machine.  Now you should be able to print a test page to the printer. CAUTION - it took awhile for the changes to
take, so you may have the hourglass looking at you for a few minutes. - Once you reboot this will not work as the connection is just for that session.
To explain: this command is the dos version of what happens when you re-route output to a different destination - thus any traffic to LPT1 goes to \\computername\sharename.
    5. After this worked, I then could add the "local port", as detailed earlier and had no errors.
    Hope this helps someone else!

  • I cannot print 1200dpi with my 5000GN and windows 7, 64 bit. How do I get this feature back?

I've downloaded and installed the latest PCL 6 print driver (Dec2011).  It works fine, but still does not give me the printer setup options I used to get in Win XP.
There used to be photoRET, 1200dpi resolution, etc.
    Now I only get 600dpi.
I do see the extra print tray 3, and though it has B paper it said it was letter.  I was able to change it manually to B.  It also shows the duplexer present.
The PCL 5 driver installed by windows also does not give other dpi options.
Win 7 Ult, x64 all updated.
The printer is on the local Ethernet.

  • Correct ITunes version for Windows 2000 and Nano

My daughter just got a Nano for x-mas and is not recognized by old I-tunes software. I assume I need a newer version. However, 8.x that is advertised as latest version does not mention Windows 2000. I can't find any info on what version of ITunes I need or if there is one even compatible with both 2000 and the Nano. Can anyone tell me? I am incredibly frustrated by the lack of info on this and the lack of info in the user's manual. I see there are several different versions/generations of Nano, but have no idea how I am supposed to know what I have. I am not computer illiterate, but find this site poor at explaining questions like; how to tell what generation of Nano one owns, what version of I Tunes is necessary to synch with that version of Nanao, and is that version of ITunes compatible with ones operating system.
Can someone tell me what version of ITUNES I need (or if it is even possible)and where I can find it? Thank you if anyone can provide this info that Apple chooses not to make easily accessible.

So does this mean the IPOD is useless unless I get a whole new operating system so I can get the latest ITUNES?
I also found a fact sheet about what to do to re-install USB drivers if the IPOD isn't recognized by the computer (which it isn't), followed the instructions and it still is not recognized! Is there a place those drivers can be downloaded so I could try something other than ITUNES for putting music on?
I still contend that MAC does a horrible job of explaining these issues to people when they are buying. I've spent about 4 hours looking at help pages and have yet to see one that mentions minimum system requirements (ie Windows 2000 is not supported) and what, if anything can be done about it. I spent about a half hour trying to locate an e-mail help/customer service address to ask these questions and let them know about my frustration, but all I could find was the phone number, for which I only get one call! I don't have time to spend this much time trying to track this info down. My first computer was a MAC and talked for years about how great they were, but this lack of easy access to basic info/customer service has soured me on them. Sorry about the rant. Thanks for any help. While I am not a computer nerd, I work with them enough to know how to get around.

    Okay Thanks for your reply.
But what about nal objects? For example Microsoft patches. You don't want Xp
patches to be rolled out on 2000 machines. So filtering on file existence is
the only way?? for example C:\windows\explorer.exe for xp and
    C:\winnt\explorer.exe for 2000.

  • BDB support for Windows Vista, WIndows 7 and Windows Server?

    Hello,
I examine to use BDB on Windows, and I have a question.
    There's a description about supported OSs on the BDB reference guide as follows;
    Where does Berkeley DB run?
The Berkeley DB distribution includes support for Windows/95, Windows/98, Windows/NT, Windows/2000 and Windows/XP, via the Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 and .NET development environments.
Does BDB distribution supports for Windows Vista and Windows Server 2003?
And it will support Windows Server 2008 and Windows 7?
I believe that BDB does not depend on specific function of Windows, thus there's no problem to support them...
    Regards,
    Akira

Yes, we have a plan about BDB support for Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows Server. Once we are ready, we'll let you know here.
    Hi Vit,
For Berkeley DB XML questions, please go to the Berkeley DB XML forum at: Berkeley DB XML
By the way, I learnt there's a XP-compatible mode in Windows 7. You may want to try DB-XML with that.
    Best regards,
