Printer configuration for 11i, standard reports to A4 size paper

Hi All,
we are using 11i EBS(DB 9ir2).
I want to set default paper size for oracle standard reports to A4 paper size.
can any one guid me how to achieve this.

I checked the transaction ME49 and found that it is based on a executable report called RM06EPS0. Also it is very much possible to make changes to this repor using the enhancement points. I found that already the report provides a lot of enhancement points. Here have a look:-

When changing or deleting one or more lines of the internal table
"\PROGRAM=ZRQEEAL10\DATA=SELECT_FIELDS" or when inserting in the table
   "\PROGRAM=ZRQEEAL10\DATA=SELECT_FIELDS", 0 was used as
the line index. An index less than or equal to zero is not
allowed.
The error can occur when using the following options:
1. "INDEX idx" for specifying the line number in the table
   "\PROGRAM=ZRQEEAL10\DATA=SELECT_FIELDS"
     where you want to change, insert or delete.
2. "FROM idx" for specifying the start index when deleting a line
     area from or inserting a line area into the table
   "\PROGRAM=ZRQEEAL10\DATA=SELECT_FIELDS".
3. "TO idx" for specifying the end index when deleting a line
     area from or inserting a line area into the table
   "\PROGRAM=ZRQEEAL10\DATA=SELECT_FIELDS".
At the time of the termination, the table contained 2 lines.

please am implementing SAP Note 1069540 -Printer Configuration for PDF Display in New NWBC Window
and when i finished the configuration i the pdf tab was still not created..
i decided to trace the error and i noticed that in service /sap/bc/webdynpro/sap/WDK_SPOOL_TO_PDF
when i right click and test service i get an error
Client error
Host name lookup for 'dv1sap.mis.com' failed
guess thats why my pdf tab was not created in my NWBC..
can any one help..please...ASAP

do you have maintained the host and ip adress in the hosts file of your system

I have a question in Ad hoc query report in HR.
<b>How to:</b> Get a list of the total number of employees included in a particular report at the end of the report. Ex: If i create and run a report for salaried employees, sorted out by company codes, how can i get a sub-total and total no. of employees listed in the report.
I tried Ranked format, but when you print the report it doesn't retain the report name on the top.

Print program for large ALV Report

I have an ALV report that has around 20 columns of data which I would approximate that it will take 3 pages to display the data.
When I use the print button for this report, the layout is changed to the max possible columns 65x255 and yet many columns go missing in the hard copy.
It seems I need to write some separate logic to print this document. How can I handle this?
I am using CL_SALV_TABLE t o generate the report. I am already handling events ON_USER_COMMAND & TOP_OF_PAGE.

Because the standard format of ALV output setting is X_65_255, when you want to extend the column number, you have to choose other format type follow the steps below:
   1.ALV screen, press 'print.' button->properties->
   2.double click 'format X_65_255'->
   3.In format field you can choose your setting with search help.
In R/3 system, we have several format as default, we can also define our own format by t-code: spad.
   1.Spad->
   2.Full administration->
   3.Devices types->
   4.Click 'Display' of Format types->
   5.Now, you can find X_65_255 format type here, click modify button and create a new one.
   6.Input format type, 'L' format type for ABAP lists, fill Attribuetes... ...
   7.Spad->Full administration->Device types->Device Types-> choose the device type you alredy use and double click it
   8.Click 'formats' button in application bar
   9.Click 'Create' button in application bar.
10.Add the format you just created.
11.After above steps you added the format to your device type, double click the format you added.
12.In the tab page of Formats we have to fill the following Actions:
                   a.Printer initialization
                   b.End of page
                   c.End of line.
       You can copy the code of each action from other formats, they are exactly the same!
    You can find your own defined page format in the ALV print properity, now!

Is there any best practice for printer configuration for test environment?

My Oracle ebs test environment has a scheduled refresh period where it will be refreshed with production test data and configuration time to time for BA, Dev to work on their enhancement.
However, all the printer configurations are still pointing to production ones after refreshed, which means whenever there is a testing on-going, the doc / label / invoices will be printed to production printer.
May I know if there is a way to globally change all the printer setup for the test environment, so that nothing will be directly to production?... Please assist.
(currently, the only way is to change one by one and only if you are aware of it...)
In case your organization has any other strategy on this matter, pls share also... Thanks a lot.

Thanks a lot.If you do not want to use same printers then you have to it to point to the (TEST/BA Printers) after you are done with Rapid Clone. Any new printers need to be added manually (just the same way you defined you PROD printers) -- Rapid Clone Documentation Resources For Release 11i and 12 [ID 799735.1]
If you want to edit the configuration, you could use FNDLOAD to download printers definition from the source instance, update the ldt file and use FNDLOAD to upload printers definitions.

That's not true, standard reports output format is still as it was in 11i
For example:
Active Users: Text
Active Responsibilties: Text
R12 has couple of formats for the concrrunt programs (i.e. Text, PS, PDF, XML, FO, PCL, HTML)

Print Out Through *MIR6* Standard Report

Sir,
I would like to take print out of selected line items ( i.e selected rows ) . Is it possible
through standard report MIR6 . And if yes please tell me how?. or any other option.

You could do a screenshot by using PrintScreen button, then cut the part you need and print it out. Otherwise it's not possible to print just some lines of any document.

Output not printing correctly for BI Publisher report.

Hi All,
We have a BI Publisher report which is printing correctly on one printer but not on another printer. The top and right side of the output are getting truncated. Printer type for both the printer is same that is "--PASTA Universal Printer Type" and both are using the same printer driver 'PASTA_PDF' and same style 'PDF Publisher'.
Please let me know how can I debug the issue.

Steve- I understand what you are mentioning about the ftp, the XML file looks okay on both server and the client except for the letter 'ü ' and the rest of the German characters prints okay. THe problem is that the BI reprot is printing the same wrong characters.

Hi,
The Best method is use the Forms.
In standard report format, use the subroutine to print the one label using the write statement , the same function is used till the last row.
Match the no. of rows reached with the Page row count. Increment the row line dynamically and reset if the new page starts.

I have an HP Photosmart printer, a desktop HP PC, and a Macbook. I am trying to figure out how to configure everything so that I can print from my Macbook. I had it configured previously, but I have since switched internet providers (I have FiOS now) and that apparently has something to do with the fact that I can no longer print.
