Printer connected to internet but when scanning it says "Unable to connect to web services"

My computer shows successful connection to my wireless, but when scanning, it says it cannot connect to web services.  HELP!

Welcome to the HP Support Forums.  I see that you are getting a connection error message when attempting to scan with your HP printer.
To better assist you, would you please provide some additional information:
What make/model/product number of HP printer do you have? How Do I Find My Model Number or Product Number?
How is the printer connected (USB cable, ethernet, or wireless)?
What operating system are you using on your computer? whatsmyos.com
Are you trying to scan from your computer or the printer?  If you are trying to scan from the computer are you using the HP Scan software or another scanning software package?
Is the printer plugged directly into a wall outlet?
Are you able to make a copy from the front panel of the printer?

But when I connect to itunes it comes up with the error message "itunes has detected an ipad in recovery mode. You must restore this ipad before it can be used with itunes" - can someone help with how I can do this

    Recovery Mode
    1. Disconnect the USB cable from the device, but leave the other end of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
    2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
    3.While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device. The device should turn on.
    4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen. When this screen appears, release the Home button. iTunes should alert you that it has detected a device in recovery mode. Click OK, and then click Restore to restore the device.
    Note: Data will be lost. You may have to repeat the above many times.

  • Cannot scan. error saying unable to connect to web services

    My printer worked perfectly inclduing the scanner and one say just stopped.  I have pin numebrs for various emails and the printer recognizes my IP address and I can print remotely but it will not scan.  I keep getting an error message "cannot connect to webservices".    The wireless is hooked up, however.
    Would love some help.  I am very frustrated.  I did need to re-connectthe printer and manually enter IP address.

    I would like to see if I can help get the Scan to Email working once again on the 7520. Although the steps I have to offer are suggested for a 6520, the steps apply for your 7520 too.

  • I have a 3rd Generation iPod that will not connect to Home Wi-Fi- keeps dismissing- saying unable to connect.

    I have a 3rd Generation iPod that will NOT connect to our internet connection at home. Message on screen keeps saying it is 'unable' to connect. Yes I have already reset to default factory settings, No we do not have our service encrypted or password protected, anyone else have any other viable suggestions as to how to fix this problem?

    Does the iPod connect to other networks?
    Does the iPod see the network?
    Any error messages?
    Do other devices now connect?
    Did the iPod connect before?
    Try the following to rule out a software problem:                 
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Power off and then back on the router
    - Reset network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings
    - iOS: Troubleshooting Wi-Fi networks and connections
    - Wi-Fi: Unable to connect to an 802.11n Wi-Fi network
    - iOS: Recommended settings for Wi-Fi routers and access points
    - Restore from backup. See:

    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
    If still problem make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    Here are several things that you can try that might help.
    Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.
    Check Settings>General>Date &Time>Set Automatically>On.
    Reset your router by unplugging it from power for about 30 seconds and then plug it back in again.

    You may need to put the iPhone into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808 - you should then be able to reset the phone and restore/resync your content to it.

    Help!  I cannot connect to my home network.

    try reseting your iPad, Hold Home button and Power/Sleep button at the same time until apple logo appears and resets your machine.  Like rebooting a PC.
    If this doesn't work, try resetting your network connections, Settings => General => scroll down to Reset => Reset Network Settings.  Again wait for your machine to restart, go into Settings => Wifi and tap on the name for your Wifi network and enter your password, you do have your Wifi network password protected don't you?
    If this doesn't work, shut your iPad off, hold the Power/Sleep button until the slide to Power Off screen appears and power your iPad off.
    Then reset your Wifi router.  I normally just unplug mine and wait about 30 seconds for it to completly lose connection with my ISP.  Plug it back in and wait for network to stabalize.  Restart iPad and see if it will connect.
    If not try the resetting routine I outlined above again and force your router to provide your iPad with a new IP Number.
    The iPad and especially the iPad with iOS 5.X can be twitch when it comes to connecting to and staying connected to a Wifi network. 
    I have gotten very good at resetting my iPad and router because of this little feature.

    My 2nd gen works fine with WPA2 and AES encryption.
    You may need to go back and start over.  Reset the router back to factory defaults, log on as the admin, set up security, DHCP, and make sure the IP address pool has enough IP addresses to lease to ALL of the computers/devices that will connect to that the router.

    Hi,
    So switch a LAN card fix this issue...seems a compatibility issue or maybe some packs or programs you installed recently cause this issue.
    Have you manually check the network adapter driver from the PC's manufacture website? sometimes, it will be a time delay before Microsoft push out the driver update.
    Check if issue exists in safemode with network, this mode will launch Windows with limited sets of files and drivers. 
    if you have a restore point, restore the pc to a previous point at which the pc is functioning fine.

    Have you tried rebooting the iPod by pressing and holding the on/off and home buttons simultaneously until the screen goes blank and you see the apple logo? It should take about 10-15 seconds to reboot.

    I don't know if you are still having the issue but if you are have you contacted your ISP? It sounds to me like it's more of a connectivity issue than a browser problem. I've dealt with similar things several times and in both cases it was something with the modem or an ISP setting.
    I'm also wondering if it could be a Wi-Fi issue. Can you log in to your router? (It varies by brand but you would go to a site such as http://192.168.10.1. That is for Trendnet. The information for yours should be in the documentation that came with it.)
    You should be able to get the router log in page to come up even if you can't connect to any websites. (Provided the network is set up correctly.)
    I also would double check your connection settings (if you're connecting over Wi-Fi) or your ethernet connection. (If you're connected directly to the modem and router.)
    Hopefully one of these suggestions will be helpful.

    It's actually what appears immediately to the right of the word "iPad" that you need to look for. If all you see is the word iPad and no other symbols, then you do not have a data connection to the internet.
    If your iPad is a 3G model (withna sim card), you should have a number of connectivity symbols which could be displayed (depending on connection strength). If your iPad is a Wi-Fi only model, you would see the wi-fi symbols appearing indicating wireless connection strength.
    Check you are connected to a wi-fi network correctly by launching the settings app and tapping Wi-Fi (near the top of the options which appear), then selecting the appropriate wi fi network which appears on the right.

    Usually when this occurs on one Wifi and Internet connection, the wifi router is working, but the router connection to the Internet Service Provider is broken. Resetting the modem or router/modem combination often results in a new connection to the ISP being established (baring any data caps limits, line, modem or ISP troubles)
    However your mentioning it's not connecting anywhere your going on wifi or Internet, which could mean your machine has been compromised and possibly blacklisted until it's cleaned up of malware, or you tried to self solve your earlier issues and messed up your Network settings.
    I tend to lesser think it's a actual hardware problem, but it might come to that eventually.
    You should test the compromised/blacklist theroy by using a Ethernet cable to the modem you know has a good Internet on and powering on/off the modem. (if a router/modem combination, then no need). If you get Internet and not kicked off in a few minutes, then your machine is fine, likely messed up Network settings are too blame.
    You can clear everything out by creating a New Location by editing locations and creating a new one, also by going to Airport Advanced > Airport and deleting all the previous connections to start over new. Reboot.
    Connect manually to your home network and save in Keychain when it asks.
    If this is all too much for you, take it to a local PC/Mac repair shop as they specialize in software/network issues.
