  • Setup printer defaults settings in BI reports

    Hi,
Our client has given us some new requirements to be able to setup printer defaults settings in BI reports so that when the user opens up the report the printing format is set for them. All the user has to do is refresh the BI report and then it will print correctly for them, with Headers and Footers.
Now, I know we can not do this with the Query Designer, but we may be able to do it with workbooks, but what I don’t know is if there are other options we can take to do this.  Such as the Report Designer? I have never used the Report Designer so I don’t know if we can build reports using the Report Designer and that the user can access and run this report from somewhere such as the portal.
Can any one please help in this regard.

  • BUG: Printer default settings not being used when selected in Print Dialog Prompt

We have 2 styles of printers on our computers: and Epson Receipt Printer (paper size Roll Papper 80mmx257m) and a Dell printer (paper size 8.5x11)
Our issue is if use us the non-defaulted printer to print something in Internet Explorer, it overrides the default printer setting with its default settings of that non-default printer.  When we try to use the default printer again, the settings will
not switch back to the appropriate settings of that default printer.
Example: (Epson selected as Default Printer in Windows 7 Professional)
I open IE and select print on a page.  I select the Dell printer and hit apply to change the print settings to the default settings of that Dell.  Everything prints fine.  I then try that same page, but this time I select the Default Printer
(Epson) and hit "apply" in the Printer Dialog Prompt and print.  The print out is of the paper size letter and not the default settings for the Epson which is Roll Paper.  I look at the settings in the preferences from IE's Print Dialog
Prompt and it shows it will use the Paper Size: LT 8.5x11 in.
If I close and re-open IE and print that same page to the Epson without selecting the Dell I see that the settings are back to the defaults for the Epson and things print as they should.
Why doesn't IE use the default settings after selecting any printer and hitting apply in the print dialog prompt past the first change of printer selection?

  • How can I change printer default settings?

    Officejet J5700 series:
How can I set the default settings so I dont have to change the printer Properties each time I print?

just thought of one thing that may have solved the problem. I had not changed color management from automatic to manual. I did that and it seems to now be working the way I want it. More later if that doesn't hold across reboot, log out, etc.

  • Correct printer default settings

    PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE
    Can someone help me !!!!
    This is driving me nuts.
For some reason the Default settings, when I print anything on my home printer have changed.
    - Paper size - other
    - orientation - landscape
Therefore everytime I print I get 1/2 the print coming over the right hand side of the page.
I can correct, but need to do this every time I print.
Can someone please tell me how I can change the default print settings for my printer, so I don't have to change them ever single time I print.
    Many thanks
    have a great day
    Regards
    Mark

    Hello diedoggie,
You can change the default printer settings in CUPS.
Just go to: http://localhost:631/admin > Manage printers > Select your printer > Change "Administration" to "Set Default Options". When you're done, you click "Set Default Options".

  • Change printer default settings

I have and HP Officejet Pro 8600.  The print default setting is to print colour.  How do I set the default setting to Black Ink
    Regards

Go to Devices and Printers, right click the printer, click Printing Preferences then go to Advance tab, usually there is an option there that you have to set to print only in grayscale. Hit Apply then ok, then close the window.

  • Set print default settings to grayscale?

Is there a way to set the default print settings to grayscale like you can on a Windows computer?
I have an HP Photosmart B210E, but the only way to print grayscale all the time is to be sure to set it on File/Print's dialog or replace my printer with a Grayscale only one.

Mine is with OS X 10.7.2. Hope this helps.
    1. Once you click print from whatever applications of your Mac. It should be like this
Then click drop-down list. Go to "Quality & Media", as in above picture.
    2. In "Quality & Media" menu, mark on "Grayscale printing" as shown in below picture.
    3. Go to "Presets" 's drop-down list. Select "Save Current Settings as Preset..."
         as shown below.
    4. Choose your Preset Name, as well as its availability. (see following picture). Then click OK.
    >>>> Now you're done.
Next time you print, just select from Presets' drop-down list as you saved it!

  • Mac print default settings by document?!

i am on a mac running Mountain Lion. I have an HP 8600 and an Epson Wide Format. I have documents that are 11 x 17 and 12 x 18. these all seem to default to print on my 8600 at 8 x 11.
this means that every time i try to print these documents i have to hit PAGE SETUP, then I have to pulldown to the EPSON, then i have to pull down to 11 x 17 PAPER, then i have to hit OK, then i have to pull down to ESPON AGAIN (because the default printer that i use is the 8600 for 8 x 11 prints).
half the time i make some kind of mistake and the document comes out on the 8600 on 8 x 11 at the /correct/ size (even though it is missing half the document) /or/ it comes out on the Espon on 11 x 17 paper as if it was being scaled to fit for 8 x 11.
is there some way to figure out how to print out of Acrobat X in some more reliable way? is there some technical document that explains this? the software suite was like 1200 US or something i would think that i would not continue to have these kinds of problems.
is there some step by step guide for setting up presets? another solution?
it took me about a year and a half to finally figure out how to simply print to 12 x 18 paper (don't ask) and i am still manually swapping out paper trays for slot 1 so that i can print on 11 x 17 or 12 x 18 respectively simply because trying to find another variable in these dialogs is like adding a multiplicity factor which makes the possible combinations like trying to calculate the parabolic trajectory for landing on the moon from earth.
should i just give up and print out of Mac Preview?
anyone able to explain why this is so complicated?
    THANKS

I work at a PC, AA9, but is there an option in your print dialog
Choose Paper Source by PDF Page Size?
    assumes the documents are 11 x 17, 12 x 18
Optionally, you might create a 2nd (and 3rd) instance of your Epson printer and change it's default paper size to 11 x 17 (12 x 18) and name the printer Epson Tabloid (Epson Tabloid Extra). Choose the appropriate printer per the document.

  • Label Printer Default Settings Changing

I have several Crystal reports designed in version 10 that are printed to a particular Dymo labelwriter.  The same labelwriter model is installed on several PCs and the report is saved calling out that specific printer and label size.  The report always prints to the proper printer (regardless of the PC's default printer) but they do not print to the labelwriter default label size.  My PC is the only exception; all others that print labels require users to select the appropriate label size.  Each labelwriter printer driver is defaulted to the same label size, but the crystal report viewer doesn't seem to pick that up.  What am I missing??

    Hi,
Ofcourse, its different issue...Can you explain me why you have used the below code

    CALL FUNCTION 'GET_PRINT_PARAMETERS'

    no_dialog = 'X'

I mean you are importing the existing default parameters but you are not modifying the parameters in l_t_params. I hope you are not required above code.

  • Change printer default settigns for all sheets

We are running Office 2007/2010/2013. Normally, our client send us an excel file with 20 or 30 jobs (sheets).
Our Canon printer default settings is 2 sided on 1 page. When we change the default settings from 2 sided to 1 sided, we need to do it one sheet at one time. In other words, we need to do it 20 or 30 times for that excel file. We wonder
how to change the settings from 2 sided to 1 sided that will change whole book settings.

  • Windows 7 Thinkvantage Access Connections 5.41 does not stick to printer default

    hi
i have installed windows 7 on 3 lenovo laptops (x60s, x61, t500) and installed AC 5.41 but and have configured them with 5 profiles each with their own default printer preferences but for some reason when i toggle from 1 profile to another the default printer setting does not change accordingly
this is really annoying as i have managed to print documents to the wrong printer a couple of times and it seems to be accross the board on all my windows 7 installations
is this happening to anyone else?
    cheers

    no i haven't
i have now deployed 5 thinkpads (x200 with lenovo windows 7 installation disk) and 4 X61 and T500's with my own windows build and downloaded all the thinkvantage software using system update (had to manually upgrade to 5.42 as system update did not pick up on the updates)
the printer default sometimes swaps over but often it just defaults to the original ms windows xps writer and not the the one i had specified.
very frustrating, luckily a lot of my users do not switch locations very often and only print from 1 location but i have some laptop roll outs planned for users who do use this printer default settings a lot and i will get some stick for this.

  • HOW DO I CHANGE MY PRINT SETTINGS SO THAT THEY STAY SET TO MY PRINTER DEFAULTS?????????????????????????????????????????

This one issue is probably the one thing that would make me abandon Firefox FOREVER (besides the problems with Flash). If I change print settings for ONE COPY I have nothing but HELL trying to get my print settings BACK to my PRINTER defaults. Why can't Firefox be like the REST of the computer world and have the PRINTER DEFAULTS override Firefox?????
I made a change yesterday and I have NOT been able to get it changed BACK to the defaults.
    Is thois too complicated?

  • Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers

Printer Queue Settings Mysteriously Reverting Back to Default Settings on 2008 R2 print servers
We have 4 Windows Server 2008 R2 print servers, all of which has the same printer queues installed on them that are utilized by a 3rd party printing program that does a round-robin load balancing scheme.
All printers are a combination of HP and Xerox all running some variation of the HP UPD and the Xerox UPD.  Some use the PCL 5 and some use the PCL 6 version determined by age of printer and need.
There are typically two printer queues for each physical printer.
    Example:
    LOCATION_ROOM
    LOCATION_ROOM_TRAY2
The regular queue is ok being left with default setting,
The _TRAY2 queues are set to print to "labels" or "pre-printed" paper type or a specific tray.
From time to time, these _TRAY2 queues will revert back to a factory default state and lose the setting to print to a specific paper type or tray.  Sometimes it happens to the _TRAY2 queue on all 4 servers, sometimes just 1 server, etc.  No rhyme
    or reason.
Disabled Bi-directional options on both the HP and Xerox UPDs per another article on the internet that said bi-directional could cause the printer to send back settings to the driver and cause this issue.  Even with this option off, we continue to see
printer _TRAY2 queue settings revert back to factory default and lose their specific paper and tray settings.  We have ruled out the possibility that users or other technicians are the ones making these changes so we suspect it is some interaction between
the servers, printer drivers and printers themselves causing the issue.
Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I'd start by using one of the print drivers included in Windows for a few of the printers and confirm it's the universal driver that is causing the issue.
HP installs some other processes and services on the machine which communicate with the HP devices.
PML and something else.  You might want to shut those down and see if these processes are the ones modifying the settings.
Run process monitor to truly identify which processes is causing the modifications.

  • How do I change the default settings in a printer's Default Settings Preset?

I am running Mavericks, printing to an HP LaserJet 4050N via IP.  [The following behavior takes place whether the printer's internal settings are set to Duplex Printing is On or is Off.]
I would like to set the default to print duplex, whether I am in an application or 'drag and drop' a file onto the printer icon (which temporarily opens the application, prints the document, and quits).
I do not seem to be able to modify the "Default Settings" Preset to specify duplex printing.  However, I have been able to create a new "Default Settings-1" Preset that specifies duplex printing.  By selecting the "Default Settings-1" Preset, in any application, I get duplex printing without any problem.
    First -- problem:
If I drag-and-drop a file -- e.g., .pdf or .docx -- onto the printer icon, it opens the application and uses the "Default Settings" Preset -- not the "Default Settings-1" Preset -- and prints single-sided.  How do I get drag and drop to use the "Default Settings-1" Preset to get duplex printing?
    Second -- issue:
Bizarrely, if I am in an application, select "Show Presets", select "Default Settings-1" and click on "Layout", it sometimes shows that "Two-Sided" printing is "Off" and sometimes that it is set to "Long-Edge Binding" -- but that seems to have no deleterious effect on duplex printing!
Any suggestions / explanations for my problem / issue?
    Thanks much,
    Avi

Other than using the CUPS interface, http://127.0.0.1:631,which it sounds like you've done, I don't think there is a way to edit the Default Settings. The standard approach is to create a preset, the solution you've found.
For drag and drop printing, you should be able to get to the print dialog and select your preset or turn duplex on by holding the option key down, selecting the file, then doing the drag and drop (either to a printer or to an open printer proxy application).
    I realize this isn't a solution, but I hope it's helpful.
