My hp deskjet 2050 j510 is printing out blank pages

What Operating System are you using? Windows or Mac? What version?
Can you make copies with the printer?
Is the power cable plugged into a surge protector or directly to the wall outlet? Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Are you using Genuine HP cartridges or refills?

    I cannot seem to find the setting to print on both sides of a page. Using a mac book pro and an hp deskjet 2050 j510. Please help!

    The drivers are installed.  I get an error message when trying to scan:  The HP Deskjet 2050 J510 series Scan was not found .  It is not identified in the "devices and printers window.  There is an icon on my desktop, when clicked, the above message is given.  If you have any suggestions, it would be appreciated.

    Please use the HP Print and Scan Doctor. The HP Print and Scan Doctor is a free utility (tool) that helps to quickly resolve common printing, scanning and connectivity issues including but not limited to:
    Connectivity :
     USB: Verifies that the USB connection from your computer to the HP product is working correctly.
    Network: Verifies that the network connection between your computer and your network is working correctly.
    Device Status Test : Checks for device errors such as out of paper, paper jams, carriage stalls, and paper feed issues, and then provides instructions for fixing the error.
    Driver Check : Checks for missing or corrupt driver files.
    Device Manager : Checks for problems in Device Manager that would prevent printing.
    Device Online : Checks if the product has been paused or set to offline, and then sets the status back to online if necessary.
    Print Queue : Checks for and clears pending print jobs in the print queue (a log of print jobs waiting to print).
    Port Match : Checks the port settings for the HP product.
    Device Conflicts : Checks for conflicts with other drivers, such as other printer brands.
    Ink Issues : Checks the cartridges and ink levels for issues that affect print quality.
    Print Settings : Checks and adjusts the print quality settings.
    Test Print : Prints a test page for print quality evaluation, and provides options for cleaning and aligning the printhead if necessary.
    Scan Tests : Checks the scan mechanism, drivers, and registry entries.

  • My HP Deskjet 2050 J510 can NOT scan for my MBA.

    My HP Deskjet 2050 J510 can NOT scan with my MBA. It could not print before I download the printer driver as described in the below link...

    Now the printing function works fine, but the scan function won't work. Could anyone give me a suggestion to make both printing and scanner functions work?

    Try to re-install the drivers and software for the printer. 
    You can also try to run the print and scan doctor, and see if it will auto-fix it.

  • Printer deskjet 2050

    I jsut bought my HP 2050 all in one a week ago. I am having problem printing a document to lanscape. I have made landscape on all my options and when I get my example page it comes out as landscape. Then I go and try to print my document and all it will come out is portrait. HELP please. I have project due monday but wanted to finish tomorrow. Thanks.

  • HP DeskJet 2050 j510 doesn't scan

    Hi.
    I've followed instructions at https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Sa … P_hardware to configure HP DeskJet 2050 j510 but I still can't make scanner to work.
    XSane just throws lots of error windows with I/O errors.
    scanimage gives this:
    scanimage: sane_start: Error during device I/O
    Closing device
    Calling sane_exit
    scanimage: finished
    In journal I see the following:
    Jun 06 20:18:42 localhost.localdomain scanimage[7307]: scan/sane/http.c 346: invalid http_status=500
    Jun 06 20:18:42 localhost.localdomain scanimage[7307]: scan/sane/http.c 350: dumping len=194
    Jun 06 20:18:43 localhost.localdomain scanimage[7307]: scan/sane/http.c 189: timeout reading data sec_timeout=1
    What could that be? I've google a lot, but still can't figure out what's the problem

  • Estimated Ink Level feature in HP Deskjet 2050 J510 printer

    Does anyone know why the shortcut of the HP Deskjet 2050 printer no longer has the estimated ink level feature?  It was there until 12/5/12 and now the entire window has changed. Now it only has the options to "See whats printing", "Customize your printer", and Set preferences".  I can.t find any reference to any updates that may have changed this, thus I have no restore point.  The only thing that has changed recently is the new version of the HP Support Assistant.  Could this have an effect on the printer software?

    The fix for this issue would be to uninstall current software and download the lastest drivers for your printer. I am linking you to the software and driver page just select operating system and select full feature driver.

    I use a laptop toshiba window xp. I recently cleaned my laptop with AVG tune up and disabled items. It was a trial. I did not buy the tune up product so I cant go back on the list and see what has been disabled. I dont know where to go to enable the printer. Thx for help. Orphelie

  • Why cant i get printer cartridges for my hp deskjet 2050 j510 printer?

    This is  a new printer -bought for our small family business as part of HP package.
    I have had many HP printers and am a loyal customer.
    Few of the main printer cartridge suppliers seem to stock the cartridges for this printer.  
    I have never encountered this problem before.
    Anyone encountered this and solved it?

    I don't know why the cartridges are hard to find in your area. Perhaps the stores are limiting their stock in these difficult economic times?

    Hello eluess609, It's happening with multiple programs on your computer? Print Preview is not a software component that is dependant of a printer. So you can have no printers installed, but still have print preview. If it's failing it's likely something on the OS level that is causing the issue.
    Does print preview work in safe mode?Can you include a screenshot of what you are seeing? I have seen numerous reports of print preview not working in Chrome, but your issue seems to be with many programs so that doesn't appear to be the same issue.

    I'm trying to install the drivers for the printer, but the step "connection to the printer" windows it just does not see. If I try to connect the printer without drivers, Windows gives an error message. (shown on screenshoot)

    I used the driver you suggested,it tryed to connect to the printer,but it coudn't.The printer is connected and powerd.Then it bring me this :
