Printer determination

Hello All,
I have problem defaulting the printer for adobe forms.
1. I defined "Define Techn. Medium for Msgs (PPF Actions) f. Cust. Shipm. and Cust. Decl." . The process type as " External communication" and Form type = PDF based forms.
2. In "Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl", I activated the action defintion in that profile.
3. I gave nothing in the printer.
4. As usual The rest of the config I did.
5. I would like the system to derive from "Printer determination" . So I defined the printer for this message in "Printer determination".
In the communication tab of customs documetn, The message comes up with "No printer defined"
My question is why the system is not taking from "Printer determination".
what I observed is there is flag "Printer deter" in "Define Conditions and Output Parameters for Comm. of Cust.Shipm. & Cust.Dcl", printer area.
But that is disabled. Can anybody give me some idea on how to control the "Printer determ" flag. I tried so many things but no luck.
Thanks...

Hi
In order to get the grayed out box to be active you have to Implement BAdi  PRINTER_DETERM_PPF BAdI. You have to add  filter instances to be used for printer determination. You have  to  enter the technical names of the action definitions as filter .either you can put the actual Action name or also enter the first part of the name and use * as wildcard. For example, cans GTS* and then u can use Action with name GTS_PRN or GTS_SLL_PRN . By using the filter value, you can control the actions for which printer determination is performed.
If you additionally enter a fixed printer in configuration  dynamic printer determination is no longer performed. So if you want Dynamic printer to work do not enter any printer in Configuration .
you have to code the method GET_PRINTER_DATA method. Here you can enter the source code that returns the relevant printer.
If you want to return the printer defined for the user master data, copy the source code of the PRINTER_DET_SUSR_PPF BAdI implementation and enter it into your implementation.
This implementaion will be availabe out of Box.
Kind Regards,
Sameer

  • Registry key for the setting "Let printer determine colors"

    Hi,
We have a Citrix environment with several Terminal servers. When people print PDF through Adobe Reader. We get the error message "Let printer determine colors".
Then we have to select "Let printer determine colors" to allow Xerox printer to do the color handling.
Is there a registry key or something I can do to alway let the Let printer determine colors?
So that the users won`t be bugged with this message everytime?
    Regards Tom Ruben

There are some docs that document all Reader settings, but these are rather difficult to navigate.  I do not even want to go and look for them now.
If I have an issue like yours (need to know the registry equivalent for a certain Reader setting) I use Regshot: take a registry shot before and after the update, then compare what's changed.

  • Let the printer determine colors in Acrobat 8

    Hi,
I am trying to figure out how to let the printer (post script) determine the colors when printing in Acrobat 8.  I have read in the user guide that I can configure Acrobat to allow the printer to determine the colors, I just haven't figured out how.  Below is a clip from the user guide.
"Letting the printer determine colors when printing
In this workflow, the application does no color conversion, but sends all necessary conversion information to the
output device. This method is especially convenient when printing to inkjet photo printers, because each combi
nation of paper type, printing resolution, and additional printing parameters (such as high-speed printing) requires
a different profile. Most new inkjet photo printers come with fairly accurate profiles built into the driver, so letting
the printer select the right profile saves time and alleviates mistakes. This method is also recommended if you are
    not familiar with color management.
If you choose this method, it is very important that you set up printing options and turn on color management in
your printer driver. Search Help for additional instructions."
I have changed the color output in the print driver and I would like those settings to be applied when printing from Acrobat.
    Thanks!

For PostScript printers (as opposed to PCL printers or raster printers with proprietary formats), Acrobat always generates the  output (i.e., the PostScript) and passes that through the driver. The PostScript driver in fact doesn't generate or affect the generated PostScript except for certain device options such as tray and paper size selection, duplexing, etc. The color options of the PostScript driver are effectively ignored.
Also, in general, Adobe strongly recommends against the let printer determine color option. Beginning with Acrobat 9, the default is the Acrobat Color Management option. (Due to transparency flattening and other considerations, all color management and conversion to device colors, CMYK, should be done within Acrobat by the print process and not at the PostScript printer!)

  • How to set ID CS6 to "Let Printer Determine Colors"

    Hi,
Trying to print from ID CS6 to an Epson WorkForce InkJet on OS X.
I want to have the Printer Driver manage the colors.
However, in the print dialog in ID, I can only select "Let InDesign Determine Colors"
How can I change this so it set to "Let Printer Determine Colors"?
    Thank you!

Could it be confirmed by someone with Postscript device connected?
Photoshop is different, you are printing a single bitmap image, while an InDesign page can have many different kinds of objects.
iProof's PowerRIP vs. Epson's driver. FWIW I gave up on Epson's driver years ago mostly because the variables in the driver's Printer... dialog, that affect color were overwhelming

  • Wishlist: 'Let printer determine colors' switch on commandline

    Hello,
I use acroread to convert PDFs that mainly contain G4-compressed TIFFs using the -toPostscript option from commandline. Starting with Acrobat Reader 8 this became a very slow process which takes several minutes for PDFs containing about 150 pages. I found out that if I activate the 'Let printer determine colors' in the printing dialog of the GUI printing the same file just takes a few seconds. What about implementing a possibility to activate this setting from commandline, too?

  • Let printer determine colors

PDFs were printing very slowly on an HP Color Laserjet 2550L.
I read online to turn on Let printer determine colors, which I did, and the printing speed increased.
While printing out a 20 page document with a blue background, the printer suddenly starting printing the background as red on pages 5 - 20.
To fix this I went to File  Print Adavanced, turned off the Let printer determine colors.  and printed the document. It printed perfectly, if a bit slow.
However each time I want to print this document I have to turn off Let printer determine colors.  The real problem is what if it does this to other documents.
How can I change the default to not be Let printer determine colors?  I could not find it in the printer properties.
    Thank you.

  • Printer determination per user

    Hi,
I am facing a problem. The problem is that i want to determine a printer per user in SD.
I checked the "Output Determination" section but the output determination using the condition technique it is not suitable for my purpose.
I used the transaction OMJR "printer determination per user" that in spite of it is located in material management allow to use aplication V3 (sales)...but even this way it is not working...
Can someone give me any suggestion??
            Best Regards

    Try this.
    <b>"hi senthil,
u can go to trx SU3 and for the user in the Defaults TAB Spool Control->Output Device u can give the Printer name.
Defualt printer assigned to the user will be stored in the table field USR01-SPLD

  • Userspecific Printer determination for orders / invoices

    Hello SD-experts,
At the moment output types are found via condition records, based on sales org / sales unit. These condition records contain the printing parameters. The requirement now is that for some users the parameters should be userspecific.
My problem is: there is the printing rule in the output type (1,2,U,S..) and there are the printing parameters of the condition records. Which one has priority ? At the moment it seems that the printing rule of the output type has no influence if output is determined via condition access. That's right ??
Any usefull hint would be highly appreciated ..
    Regards Wolfgang

You can either do as suggested in previous post defining additional condition table and adding it to your access sequence prior to other steps so it searches for user-specifuc output first, if not ofund - then everything remains as before.
Or you can change printer in your print program before opening the form (check 'itcpo' structure passed to  OPEN_FORM)... of course it works only if you have your own print program for your output types.

  • MB01 Printer determination by Userexit? T685B-PRKEY='E' ?

    Hi all,
in MM customizing for Output types for Goods receipt (Tcd. M706), I discovered the field VN_T685B-PRKEY - Print parameter. Within SAP Rel. ECC 6.0, the value help for this field offers value 'E' for 'User-Exit'.
I am very much interested in using this option, because my customer wants the printer to be determined via the Purchasing group of the Goods receipt's underlying Purchase order.
Does anybody have information about how and where to implement this USerexit? SAP Docu doesn't mention this value E at all
    Thanks in advance!
    Klaus

    Hi Pavan,
    thanks for your answer!
I was trying to avoid this whole Access sequence - Conditions table - stuff. With that, I have to make sure that no other messages are being processed, and my new message does not influence Messaging of other messages.
The word "User-Exit" seemed to promise an easier solution....

  • Printer determination for sapscript form output

    Hello All,
We have configured different printers for the different plants in our sales organization.  When we create a delivery, there is a requirement to send the delivery form output (bill of lading, delivery note etc.) to the appropriate printer based on the plant for which the delivery is created.
Is it possible to do this and if yes, how should this be done?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks in advance,
    Rugmani

    Hello,
I created a condition table '550 - Shipping point/plant'. Then I created an access sequence 'ZSH1' and assigned this condition table 550 to it.
In the output determination procedure, the procedure 'V10000 - Header output' has the condition type PL02 - BOL: Single Delivery assigned to it.
    The assignments look like:
    Step       Counter         Cond Type
    10               1                LD00     Delivery Note
    20               2                PL00     Packing list
    30               3                PL01     Planning Slip
    40               4                PL02     BOL: Single Delivery
In Assign output procedures, the entry corresponding to delivery type 'LF' is:
Del Type                O/P procedure                       O/P Type
LF Delivery                    V10000  Header Output             LD00Delivery Note
When I try to enter a new condition record using VV21, it does not show up this key combination 'Shipping point/Plant'.
Can someone tell me if I am missing some customization?
    Thanks,
    Rugmani

  • Print Determination MIGO

    Hi All
what is the difference between WE01,WE02,WE03,WA01 and so on.. what is the settings i need to make if i forget to take printout during GR. Is there anyother setting other than MB02 & MB90.
    Please Suggest
    Regards
    Jagadish

    Hi
    WA for Goods Issue
    WE for Goods receipt
    1 is for Individual slip
2 is for individual slip with inspection text
    3 is for collective slip.
After you make nessary settings in NACE for this requirement, while in MIGO screen you have to select either of 1,2 or 3 and flsg the Print via Out put indicator beside this selection list.
If you forget to do this you can do this in disply mode also or you can alos do the repeat out put.
    regards,
