Printer Device Status Page Error on IPP site

I have print services on Windows Server 2012 Datacenter. When I go to the IPP site and click on a printer that has a Device Status link under the View section, I receive an error,"Device Status Page Error...We are unable to generate the device
status page for the selected printer. Please contact your system administrator for more information". This happens on all our printers that has a Device Status link. And the printers are different models and some are type 3 and type 4. I have tried accessing
the ipp page on Server 2012 and Windows 7 and it still gives the same errors.

You are correct about Microsoft not creating a hotfix for this issue in current versions of Windows. Microsoft support replied to me and indicated the following:
Hi Tiffany,
Thanks for your reply.
After consulting with our product team, we will not fix this issue in the current product consider the many changes involved. but we might
consider it to the next generation product.
Thanks for your understanding and cooperation. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything else that we can help.

  • Printer cartridge test page errors

When I do a self test report the colors are not printing correctly and magenta is not printing at all.  Violet is the same as Cyan and red is the same color as yellow.  I have cleaned the cartridges with a q-tip and I am still having the same problem.

What printer model? Is the color cartridge an original HP or a reman or refill?  If an original then check the cartridge warranty information as shown here.

  • Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3

Error message in Adobe Pdf in printer device panel when trying to create a pdf document.  I have CS3 Web Premium with Acrobat Professional 8.  I use it fine on my old computer with Windows XP.  I recently got a new laptop with Windows 7.  I installed all my Adobe programs, and I think they are working.  When I look at Adobe PDF in the device section of the Control Panel it looks okay.  But when I try to print a Word, Photoshop, or HTML page in PDF, nothing happens.  I have tried printing both as File>print and using the PDF tab on the top menu bar.  I look at the device in the control panel and it has the yellow error warning symbol and suggests trying to troubleshoot.  I look at the document list and it says status "error".  When I try troubleshooting Windows suggests doing some Home Sharing and also suggests canceling the document I'm trying to print.  I tried re-installing just Acrobat 8 from CS3 (and have to use Photoshop CS4 disk for shared documents I guess).  I ran into a can't locate adobepdf_dll file, so did a web search on this issue and found a suggestion that I find and use the adobepdf_dll_64 file and may have to (I did have to) remove the "_64" for it to work.  I think I successfully reinstalled using that dll file- no errors came up anyway.  But still when I try printing/converting a photoshop, webpage, or word document into pdf, the pdf device in control panel still gives the error status on the document and gives the same troubleshooting advice.  Help?

I just compared the properties between the two computers.  On the old computer it has the port as "My Documents/*.pdf".  On my new computer it lists the port as "LPT1".  I tried changing the port to "Print as File", but when I try printing a photoshop picture as pdf, I get a "Access Denied".  I then tried to create a new port on the device control panel.  I tried to create a local port "My Documents/*.pdf" port but was denied.  I ten tried to create a new port type and control panel asked for an INF file.  I wonder if this is where my problem lies.  Thoughts?

  • HP Device Not Found Error when trying to print or scan wireless- HP Officejet Pro L7590

Have had HP Officejet Pro L7590 All-In-One Printer for years.  Always worked fine and I had no issues printing via wireless connection.  Several months ago..  Possibly after a Windows 8 update.  From Windows 8 to Windows 8.1 I have not been able to use the printers wireless feature.  When I try to print or scan it shows the printer as offline.  Also get an error message that tells me "HP Imaging device is not found".  I can still print when connected to USB.  Cannot scan or use features of the HP software suite.  I have tried several times to correct.  Reloading the software and drivers several times, but no success.  I just tried again and was able to print the test page wireless, so got all excited and thought I fixed it.  Then tried to print something and got the same error message I have seen in the past.  I have talked to certain supports saying that it may be a firewall setting within Windows.  Any other suggestions?  Thanks

  • HO D110 series printer will only print half of page get error

Ever since I got a new lap top that has Windows 8 my printer will only print half of the page and then stops. I get an error message. I have used the online Wizard and downloaded the new driver but it still won't work. Also can't print wirelessly still from other devices.

    Hello mrshayes,
I saw that you have a new laptop with Windows 8 and now the printer is printing half a page and will not print any more. I understand you also cannot print from other devices. I have some suggestions for you.
First, try to make a standalone copy from the printer itself. If the copy is successful, the printer tests out okay. If the copy fails, try resetting your printer and ensuring it is plugged in directly to the wall outlet, avoiding power bars, surge protectors, etc.
Here is a link on how to reset the printer: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c03177455
If the copy works fine, see if there is a Firmware Update needed: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=us&lc=en&docname=c02919168
Also, run the Print and Scan Dr. to detect any issues. This tool might fix the problem.

Any particular reason why you installed iPrint Appliance version 1.0.1
and not 1.1 which was recently released[1]?

  • Print Driver displayed on status page

I have recently updated the firmware successfully on this printer.  It works just fine.   I then downloaded and ran the software suite which had also been updated on the hp site.  The printer works fine.  However, the software version on printer status page (printed from the printer) indicates that the software installed is from 2010.  The firmware shows the update, but not the software.  How do I drive the print driver software to the printer so that is indicates correctly.  I am under the impression that depending on how I have it configured, the printer will provide this driver info to a USB connected computer and it seems that it should be up to date along with the driver that is actually on my current computer.  I tried the installation via USB and wirelessly and I get the same result.  Help if you can.
    Thnx.
    John

Not sure just what you are describing.
In general with laserjet printers, a printer status page (initiated from the front panel menus, or Embedded Web Server, or Toolbox equivalent, as appropriate) should show the date of the installed firmware.
The printer itself will know nothing of the version(s) of the printer driver(s) on the workstation(s) which print to it.

  • When I try to print from web page I get "printer not activated - error code 30", printer works on Internet Explorer

When I try to print from web page I get a dialogue box "Printer not activated - error code 30" followed by a dialogue box "An unknown error occurred while printing". The printer works on websites when I use Internet Explorer. Also, if I copy the web page and paste it into a Word document, I can print a copy. This issue just started this week; I have not encountered this problem prior to this week. Please advise.

  • How can I print more than one page of an internet site?

When I try to print pages from internet sites (Facebook, Merchant Circle, Linked In, NBC.com, etc.), Firefox will only print the first page.
In order to print more information, it is necessary to reduce the scale of the print so more of the information will print on the first page.
How can I print out more than just one page of a website without having to make the print so small that I cannot read it when it prints?

Firefox has problems with some style rules.
First, it's always helpful to use any print-formatted or print-optimized version of the page. Sometimes there is a link for this.
Second, in some cases you need to use this trick: press Ctrl+a to select all content on the page, then Ctrl+p to display the print dialog, and click the radio button next to Selection.
Those tricks don't always work, but hopefully they will help.
