Printer Dialog for Canon S9000 Printer

I dug out my large format Canon S9000 printer and am having trouble color correcting the photographic prints. Part of the trouble seems to be that in OS 10.6 I don't seem to be able to get the printer dialog box from the printer utility. When you go into the printer driver all you get is Canon S9000 in the box and I don't seem to be able to get into change any of the driver settings. Can anyone help? Thanks.

I did download the latest driver for the S9000 available, although it is updated I believe only through OS X v10.5 and not 10.6.
The driver update is for 10.6. If you have v10.36.2.0 installed then at least there should be some level of comparison between my setup and yours.
I talked to Canon support and they told me that Apple writes the printer drivers for the OS systems and not them.
This is not true. Canon creates the drivers and provides them to Apple so that it they are available via Software Update.
Since you are using the same driver from Canon, maybe you could answer some of the following questions: What color space do you use for importing your photograph, sRGB, AdobeRGB, ProRGB, etc.? What color space do you use for viewing your photograph? Do use any ICC print profiles to print?
For the photo that I used to test, it was taken on my Canon EOS7D and imported using Image Capture. The Get Info for the photo shows the colour space as RGB and the colour profile as sRGB IEC61966-2.1.
For printing I selected the Canon profile to match the Canon Photo Plus Glossy, which is shown as GL3/SG3 in ColorSync. When PS was managing the colour this was selected via the PS print dialog > printer profile. When I selected the printer to manage, I used the Quality & Media tab to select the paper which in turn sets the profile, as seen in the Color Options menu.

Unable to find the Print Dialog Box when using Photoshop Element 6, G4 with OS Leopard(10.5.8) and Canon S9000 printer in order to choose the media type(paper type) to print photos.

Okay, let's try it this way. You've got that dialog box onscreen. Click PRINT (see circle and arrow):
    Then you should see this:
Click that arrow and that window should expand to show you this:
Your actual choices in the last menu may read a little differently but that's the pulldown where you choose.

  • Problem Printing to a Canon MX700 Printer

I have a new Macbook Air (love it) and I want to print to my Canon MX700 printer. I have the driver properly installed on the MBA and I can print a test page to the Canon MX700 from the MBA. However, when I send an actual file to the printer, it never goes beyond the status of "spooling" in the print cue. What am I doing wrong?
    Thanks much...
    v/r,
    - Collabman

Thank you for the feedback. I should have mentioned my Canon MX700 is installed/connected to a Window XP desktop. The printer is being shared across my network and can be seen/printed to from a Windows laptop on my network so from the windows side, it is good to go.
I deleted the MX700 printer and re-added it by selecting "add printer or scanner." However, the printer only shows via the "windows" view (4th icon), where I can navigate/access it accross my network. I can add it, select the driver and install it just fine.
Still no joy printing an actual job to it though...
    Thanks much...

  • I cannot print on my Canon i550 printer with the used Win7 computer I just bought. I downloaded a dr

I cannot print on my Canon i550 printer with the used Win7 computer I just bought. I downloaded a driver update from Canon that is supposed to fix the incompatibility issue, but it does nothing. Can anyone help? Can't afford a new computer or printer!

Hi cjvandeveer, The Windows 7 operating system has a mini-driver built-in for the printer. You can plug in the USB cable of printer into the computer and then turn the printer on. If Windows 7 automatically recognizes the printer, it will appear in your DEVICES AND PRINTERS window, and you will be able to print. You will then need to download the Windows 7 printer driver add-on module from our website. The add-on module will give the printer its full capability, but only after the printer is already recognized by Windows 7. First, to see if Windows recognizes your printer, please follow these steps: 1. Plug in the printer's USB cable into the computer and then turn on the printer. 2. Go to your START MENU on the computer and select DEVICES AND PRINTERS. 3. See if your printer is located in the DEVICES AND PRINTERS window. If it is not, we may need to run Windows Update on your computer in order for the printer to be initially recognized. Please follow these steps to install the latest driver for your printer from Windows Update: 1. Turn the printer on and ensure it is connected to the computer with the USB cable. Please note that your computer will also need to be connected to the internet before performing the next step. 2. Click on your START menu button, and in the text box that appears, type in 'WINDOWS UPDATE', then click on START SEARCH. The Windows Update window should open. 3. Click on the 'SEARCH FOR UPDATES' or 'CHECK FOR UPDATES' link. The computer will search for updates and then display the updates it has found relevant to your operating system and devices connected to it. 4. View the CRITICAL UPDATES and OPTIONAL UPDATES that appear; if you see an update for your printer, select that one and then install it. 5. Once the driver is installed, please restart your computer. Once Windows 7 recognizes your printer, you can then install the printer add-on module from our website to give the printer its full functionality.  Hope this helps! This didn't answer your question or issue? Hi,
Which type of connection you want to use ? Which tabs are you talking about ? I could not find full specs of your printer, how old is it ? Do you use a wireless network at home ? As mentioned above, I don't know your existing hardware therefore you need to check the book and select a suitable connection first.
    Regards.

  • I want to use my jetpack 890L as a wireless router to allow wireless printing with a canon laser printer. Is this possible, and does the jetpack support WPS?

I want to use my jetpack 890L as a wireless router to enable wireless printing with a canon laser printer. Is this possible, and does the jetpack support WPS?

I’ve used several wireless printers with a 4510 and 5510 Jetpack and they all print just fine. The MHS890L does not support WPS. The WPS Wikipedia article briefly addresses the reason why you should not use WPS.  If you’re having trouble setting up your printer the manufacturer has a toll free support line to help you. Your Jetpack has the Wi-Fi Password on the bottom, under the battery, and or in the LED display.

  • How to install Windows 7 64 bit driver for Canon i9100 Printer?

When I try to install my Canon i9100 printer on my HP laptop running Windows 7 Professional 64 bit, Windows cannot locate a driver.  Visiting the Canon website, I find an update module for the Windows driver.  Canon says the printer MUST be installed using Windows Updater before their driver update can be installed.  I have tried everything, but I cannot get Windows to find a driver.  Windows Updater says that my computer is Up To Date.
    What am I doing wrong?
    Thank you,
    David

    Hi Honeycutt,
The Windows 7 driver for your i9100 is only available from Microsoft through Windows Update.  Please try Microsoft's web page for assistance with troubleshooting this:

  • Printing a report and using the print dialog for it

i already have the print dialog vi from NI. I am using the normal report generation toolkit for printing reports. But I want to give the user an option to choose the number of pages and landscape/portrait options. But how do I integrate the 2 so that before printing the user can select these features.

There is an activeX control that will set these settings. It is called IAS Helper COM Component 1.0 Type Library. It operates the Windows printer configuration program. Since another company wrote the code, I do not have the resources to help you use the control, but the attached example program should get you started.

  • Need printer driver for Canon imageclass D320

Anyone direct me to a printer Driver for the Canon Imageless 320?
    Canon support says none available.
    Macbook pro under Yosemite.
    thanks

Canon never made an OS X version of its proprietary driver "CARPS" that is used by the D320. And the Canon driver link provided above is just for Canon inkjets - there is no support for your model.
If you want to print to the D320 from the Mac, you would need to install a virtual machine application like VMware's Fusion and then load Windows 7 into the VM.

  • Printer driver for Canon MP730

i am am totally fed up with my HP 8500 officejet printer (paper jam all the time). I want to start using my older printer (Canon MP 730) again in combination with an iMac running on OS X Yosemite
DId anyone find a printer driver for a Canon MP 730 that works properly with an iMac running on OS X Yosemite?  I am only using the printing and scanning function of  the Canon MP 730 (do not use the fax).

The MP730 was released in 2003 and support ended in 2010. The last OS X driver that Canon released was for Mac OS X 10.6 and this will not install on Yosemite.
So your options are Gutenprint v5.2.10, which is free, or PrintFab, which costs €49.
Note that Gutenprint v5.2.10 is not digitally signed for Yosemite so its installation will be blocked by Gatekeeper. To get past Gatekeeper, right-click on the Gutenprint installer package and select Open from the pop-up menu that appears. Now you will get the option to install.

  • Printer driver for canon LBP-1120

    Hi guys,
I'm searching for a printer driver for the Canon Lasershot LBP-1120. I've been looking around a bit on google but haven't found anything very helpful.
    Thanks.

I don't know how, and if you have to ask, you probably don't, either. Sorry.
If you still have the PC that you can use as print server, try this:

  • Printer Driver for Canon i960

anyone else using a Canon i960 photo printer?  cant find a driver for Mavericks.  Old drivers giving really bad results.  Went to Canon site and it says no driver available.  Have to go all the way back to Snow Leopard to find a driver and it won't work for Mavericks.  Used my printer on Lion and Mountain Lion so I'm not sure what to do.  I assumed Apple would have a driver, but when I went to install, it said no driver found at Apple.  Help!

I'm not knocking your 10+ year old Canon, because I still use an 8+ year old Epson.
I do know that some day sooner or later, it is going to have to be replaced. The really sad part is that every time I look at new printers, I shake my head and walk away thinking
"that cheap peace of junk is never going to last half as long as what I have now"
Have you tried > Canon Inkjet Printer Drivers v2.12 for OS X and then resetting your printing system, as per > OS X Mavericks: Reset the printing system

I was just about to tell you the black tank was ok
when it sunk in that maybe all that was being printed was color.
So tried test page, nothing to compare to, but something printed, looked black.
Tried to clean nozzle, no joy.
Pages printed nothing but a blank sheet of paper.
Tried to deep clean nozzle. no joy.
So I thought maybe go back to basics and put a few lines in textedit
and throw in a line of red font just for fun.
I saw red and nothing else.
I had a black cartridge at hand

    Long live the new cartridge.

I am looking for a print driver for my Canon i9900 large format printer
Canon support indicates no driver is available

You will have to use the Gutenprint v5.2.10 driver package. That model is too old for Canon to provide a supporting driver.
