Printer Driver for c4680 using Mac OSX 8.5

I have a Mac Book Pro with OSX 8.5 and have an old HP Photosmart c4680 printer that I want to use.  I have tried to download the driver for this printer and get an error message that says "Can't install the software for the HP Photosmart C4600 series because it is not currently available from the Software Update server."  Does this mean that there is no driver for this OS X 8.5?  Thanks

I am a new mac user and I switch to mac due to the graphics that it brings. I do website in pc and I heard iweb is the best.NOW i heard that iweb will be discontinue. so what is the best application there for website using MAC OSX lion?

It is now confirmed  that iWeb, and iDVD, has been discontinued by Apple. This is evidenced by the fact that new Macs are shipping with iLife 11 installed but without iWeb and iDVD.
On June 30, 2012 MobileMe will be shutdown. However, iWeb will still continue to work but without the following:
Features No Longer Available Once MobileMe is Discontinued:
    ◼ Password protection
    ◼ Blog and photo comments
    ◼ Blog search
    ◼ Hit counter
    ◼ MobileMe Gallery
All of these features can be replaced with 3rd party options.
I found that if I published my site to a folder on my hard drive and then uploaded with a 3rd party FTP client subscriptions to slideshows and the RSS feed were broken.  If I published directly from iWeb to the FPT server those two features continued to work correctly.
There's another problem and that's with iWeb's popup slideshows.  Once the MMe servers are no longer online the popup slideshow buttons will not display their images.
However, Roddy McKay and I have figured out a way to modify existing sites with those slideshows and iWeb itself so that those images will display as expected once MobileMe servers are gone.  How to is described in this tutorial: #26 - How to Modify iWeb So Popup Slideshows Will Work After MobileMe is Discontinued.
It now appears that the iLife suite of applications offered on disc is now a discontinued product and the remaining supported iApps will only be available thru the App Store from now on. However, the iLife 11 boxed version that is still available at the online Apple Store (Store button at the top of the page) and those still on the shelves of retailers will include iWeb and iDVD. Those two apps were listed in small, gray text on the iLife 11 box that I bought.
Personally, if I didn't already have a copy I would purchase one to have it for reinstallation purposes if ever needed.

Where can I find a print driver for my e-mac running os9.2

Actually the best place is the web site for the printer. You'll also need the model, but there are still some OS9 drivers out there.
You must supply the printer make and model for people here to help further.

  • Cancel duplex printing on HP 6700 using Mac OSx Yosemite

I've been searching the HP Forum site for weeks for a solution to turning OFF the duplex printing on the HP 6700 printer.  The "tab" listed does NOT appear...so it's impossible to click on it.  There are NO options or two sided printing on the HP 6700 print screen.  None of the solutions here work...at least for us.  It appears lots of others are having this same problem with the HP 6700 printer...no way to turn off duplexing.  Does anyone have THE solution that works?  Again, using a Mac Pro with the OSX Yosemite.  (We couldn't get the duplex printing to stop with the last OS either.)  Help would be much appreciated.

    Hi,
Follow the steps below to disable duplex printing:
Open the file used to print, click the File menu, select Print. The Print window appears.
NOTE: The Print window might be minimized. Click on Show Details to see all available settings.
Click the lowest selection box listed as the name of the program (e.g. TextEdit)
Will appear as Copies & Pages within Microsoft Office applications.
Select Layout from the drop-down menu.
Set the Two-Sided option as Off.
You may save the settings for future use by clicking Presets > Save Current Settings as Preset... Any used preset will remain default till another preset will be used.

  • Printer Driver for PS CS5, Mac OS 10.8.5

What printer driver do I need to print from Photoshop CS5 to an Epson Stylus Pro 7600 printer from a MAC Mini running OS 10.8.5?

  • Open gl driver for 8600m under Mac OSX

    Hey,
Does anyone know when Apple would update the opengl driver for 8600m in SR MBP?
Are the planning to update it for gaining performance?

    Mate, u gave a very interesting reply~
As I know, many laptop manufactures suffers updating driver with their products (or they stop updating driver after a year). As a result, consumers are forced to use official driver. However, ATI and nVidia also prevent end users to install their lastest driver on any laptop products. This is annoying us that have to search the "crack" inf on the Internet in order to install the latest driver.
Although Apple did not accurately announce the performance and functions of 8600m, usually, people estimate/expect these performance from reading review or benchmark from similar products. The performances of a piece of computer are depend on hardware itself as well as software. Driver is the main key to determine how would the hardware would perform. Unfortunately, todays they are selling their product by promoting the name of the hardware. Without much knowledge in computer, consumers do not know these performance software issues behind these hardware. Personally speaking, I suggests that this kind of inconsistency is a kind of misrepresentation in commercial activity. I wish that there is a kind of law would state that these computer products must provide or will provide a mature driver (which at least 80% of what the hardware claimed) within 3 months after the product release on the market.
    regards from a law student.
Anyway, please tell us what u get from calling apple.

  • Workaround solution for those using Mac OSX 10.9.4 who can't scan

I recently upgraded my Mac Mini to OSX 10.9.4 and have been unable to scan using the Scan button on my Deskjet 4400 All-in-One printer (I have updated all my Apple software). I accidentally found that if I go to Systems Preferences and click on Printers and Scanners, I can click on Scan and then on Open Scanner and can scan from there.
It's not the easiest way to scan but at least I am able to scan. Hope HP will soon find a way that it will work just using the Scan button on the printer.

    Hi,
A Full Feature software is not available for your printer for OS X Mavericks, I'm sorry to inform you that a such is only available for newer models and will not be available for your printer.
Scanning from the front panel is not supported on the operating system but only via Image Capture, Preview or Printers & Scanners as listed in the following document:

  • Which drive for XP? mac osx or data?

What would you pros do in this case? Install XP on a small 20gig partition on a 320gig data drive that is shared between both OSs? Install it on an extra big drive all by it's lonesome, or install it on a partition on the MacOS 320gig drive? Just not sure if there is a "smart" way of organizing these OSs on the same machine.
    Any takers on this?

    Hi,
    here's what I did:
I have Windows installed on a partitionend second 320GB HD and gave it 200GB while I use the remaining 100GB as an OSX 'play and testing ground'.
I would suggest to go with more than the 20GB just to avoid the neccessity to repartion that drive later when you run out of space with Windows.
And if you plan to maybe upgrade to Vista some time later, then 20GB is way too small.
And on a MAc Pro I would never install Windows on the same HD as my main OSX is.
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Mac OS 10.5 Bonjour Unable to find printer driver for P1606dn connected via wired network.

I have been trying to connect my HP Laserjet Pro P1606dn to my PowerMac G5 running Mac OS 10.5.8.  I connected the priner to my LAN via Ethernet cables and NetGear 8-port switch.  I then successfully installed the printer driver from the supplied CD on the Mac and went to System Preferences / Print & Fax to add the printer to the list of connected printers.  Hit the "+" button.  The HP P106dn was listed in the table (Kind = Bonjour).
I selected this entry in the table, and the dialog box immediately went into action: the "Print Using" pullodwn listed the greyed out message "Please select a driver or printer model" and a spinning wheel labeled "Searching for new drivers" appeared below it.  The dialog box searches for but never finds the printer driver (I waited 20 minutes with no success).  I have installed other HP printers this way on this machine without any problem, e.g., HP Color Laserjet 2605dn.  Why is this method not working with this printer?
I was able to connect this printer with other (Intel) Macs in my household via this LAN arrangement.  Is the printer driver for Intel-only Macs?
I disconnecting the printer from the LAN and connected it directly to my Mac with a USB cable.  Followed the same process, and I was able to connect to this printer.  Successfully printed a document page.  While this provides me with a work-around for the G5 Mac, I need to share this printer with the other Macs in my household.
I went to the HP download site and downloaded the latest driver for this printer, re-installed the printer driver on the Mac, and repeated the steps for the LAN arrangement (above) to complete the connection via the Print & Fax dialog.  The result was the same: spinning wheel searching for a printer driver that it cannot find.
I do not know what else to do, or why this installation will not work.  I would appreciate it very much if anyone could offer an explanation for this or some suggestions as to what else can be done?

I apologize for the delay in responding to you.  I was on the road all day yesterday.
OK.  I switched the printer's Ethernet cable to a Linksys Switch (Model EZX S55W) that's part of this local network.  That did not work.  I swapped out the cable for one that I know works.  Still no change.  I switched the printer's Ethernet cable directly to a port on the router.  No change.  I even swapped cables here, too, but no success.
As I was doing all this, I was wondering: When I select the HP P1606dn printer in the Print and Fax "Add" dialog box, (see the image below) and the Print Using pulldown menu displays "Please select a driver or printer model" and the message "Searching for new drivers" appears under it (with the spinning wheel), why is it that the Ethernet connection to printer is critical to "finding" a new (printer) driver?
Isn't the utility searching through my system and libraries looking for a printer driver app for the printer that I identified/selected in the dialog box?
After all, if the dialog box lists the printer among those to choose from, hasn't the utility already discovered the printer via the Ethernet connection?

  • HP Laserjet 4 printer driver for mac osx 10.8.5

Anybody know of a mac osx 10.8.5 printer driver for a HP Laserjet 4?

Yeah, looked at this list earlier - they've got v. 19.8 for a Laserjet 4 Plus but mine is a plain Laserjet 4 so I doubt it would work. I used a Gutenprint driver v. 5.2.3 with Leopard that worked OK. Mountain Lion doesn't seem to like it as much...

Hello, The Hatter, I read about the 'trick' of backing up, erasing, and restoring too, but I figured it would take longer than defragmenting the disk.
But the defragmentation process has just finished! so I'm gonna try to run Boot Camp again soon!
    Thanks for your helpfulness, anyway.
And P.S. I didn't clone my system onto the external drive, I just inserted the Mac OS X Install CD, rebooted holding down the "C" key, and installed a fresh Snow Leopard system onto the predetermined partition. I will use that in cases of emergency, when my main/internal system becomes unusable.

  • Mac Lion OS print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & business inkjet 2200

I just brought a Macbook Air (13in) with the new OS Lion.  I however have a HP Color Laserjet 1600 and Business Inkjet 2200 that I love, but can't find a printer driver for either.  So, my questions are, does anyone know if:
    1)  there is going to be a mac lion os print driver for hp color laser jet 1600 & Business Inkjet 2200; or
    2)  is there another way to print to them (i.e., the 2200 uses HPA instead of PS and the 1600 uses PCL)?

Any suggestions re correct driver for windows 7 and HP 4600dn?

This is a few years old, but it's the best I can do. I stopped using Windows many years ago.
If you have specific questions, maybe I can answer, but remember I don't have access to any Windows newer than XP. I think setup will be similar, but I don't know if the Windows-side software will be compatible with W7 or W8.
