Printer EPSON FX 890 not clear font

Hi,
we are working in Oracle applications 11i.
We have a customized PDF report developed with Oracle reports builder and its font is Times New Roman. The report was printed out in an HP series printers and it has no problems.
The user has a new requirement to use the printer: EPSON FX 890. Now, the report when printed out has unclear fuzzy and blurred lines.
what is the problem and how can we solve it?

My two cents.
You can run the report and generate the pdf output; copy the output pdf to a different location in middle tier. Login to the middle tier and try to print the pdf from command line in the target printer. Once you find the right command line arguments that works, you can set the printer driver to reflect the same.

If you are using a Windows or Mac Operating System, and the version number. To find the exact version, visit this link. Whatsmyos.
If the printer is connected, Wireless, Ethernet, or USB.
If the printer is able to make copies.
If the power cable is plugged into a surge protector, or directly to the wall outlet. Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector. This applies to Inkjet printers as well.

Was on facebook and screen suddenly changed to very small print and fuzzy not clear, so I switched to another browser and it was ok on there

while scrolling thru my facebook page. The screen suddenly changed to very small print and blurred / fuzzy not clear. The whole page had changed the way it was showing. So I tried another browser and facebook page was working fine. Went back to firefox and still had issues.

Reset the page zoom on pages that cause problems.

I am having some font issues with EPSON FX 890
Its doesn't print well, I just gone throught the communnicty which can help me witht he privous links,

I do not have any information on a driver that would use the PPD you have. The only drivers I have reference to for 9 pin Epson impact printers are:
1. The Epson 9 pin drivers that come with OS X 10.4
2. The Epson 9 pin high drivers
3. The Epson 9 pin mid drivers
4. The epson drivers
The items 2, 3 and 4 require foomatic-rip and Ghostscript.

I have an Epson 9 pin dot matrix printer installed which is used to fill in 4 part carbonless forms. I've used it for years with Pagemaker with no problem, but when I installed a new computer with Vista and InDesign there's a problem with the print quality.
The characters look very grainy, like all of the pins are not hitting. It is a networked printer but is wired into the new computer. All other programs on the computer, including Pagemaker, print to it fine, and InDesign prints to a networked Canon laser and a hardwired Epson inkjet with no problem. I've tried different fonts and sizes and they all print grainy.
I thought it might have something to do with the "Appearance of Black" settings under Preferences ie: 100K Black vs Rich Black but have not been able to affect it with the different settings there.
Any help will be appreciated.

The only Vista driver offered by Epson for this printer is for Vista 32 bit OS and that's the one I'm using. To print in PDF you would just save the finished document to PDF format and then open and print that document in Adobe Reader?

Safari 4 fonts are not clear on the screen.....

I downloaded and installed Safari 4 for Windows over the weekend.
I find that the fonts are not clear...they are actually fuzzy. Right now I have this page side by side with another browser and the type is definitely different.
Any thoughts?

First, try resetting your phone:
Press the sleep/wake button & home button at the same time, keep pressing until you see the Apple logo, then release.

Problem solved. Does only happen with the Internet Explorer 32bit.
With Internet Explorer 64bit it doesn't happen.

Only the printer manufacturer can make it compatible with AirPrint, it's not up to Apple. You could try Epson's iPrint app, that claims to support that model :

Adobe Form - Print choice of bold or not bold font

We have an Adobe form that prints sales order line items that are followed by their scheduling data (if any). So, each order line item could be followed with one or more scheduling line items or none. Example:

This is working fine using a subform but now we want to print the scheduling line items either as bold or not bold depending on some logic. So, we want this:

We have an indicator set for each scheduling line item that indicates if the schedule line is to be printed as bold or not bold (schedules-bold_line = u2018Xu2019).
Is there any way to override the font settings in the Layout using Script Editor?
Weu2019ve tried using Script Editor (at a upper level subform) to set the presence (hidden/visible) of two different subforms (one to print as bold and one not bold) but that printed both subforms.
Weu2019ve tried using Alternative nodes (true/false) that check the bold line indicator. This works but it prints the wrong data because there are direct binding references to multiple levels of repeating data. That is, instead of printing the schedule lines for order line item 10, it prints the schedule line items for order line item 20.

How would I use relative binding in Alternative nodes?

The EXPECTEDSHIPDATE subform is bound to the Schedules table that contains ShipQty, etc. The BOLD_LINE_IND field contains the value that toggles the print between bold and normal.
The key to making this work was to correctly format the condition and code and to find the right event to place the code in.

Yes, 90% of the time I try to print something I get that error, and have been gettign that error for years, since the days of OS X Leopard. I have been pausing/resuming each printer to get it to start transferring files again, or, sometimes it won't work and I have to go through the wifi setup again, or unplug cat5 cable and plug it back in, or power cycle the printer if on USB.
I contacted Epson, and as you most likely know, they have no qualified personnel. They got me throuhg the obvious steps like removing the drivers, re-installing them (I actually did a find / -name "*epson*" and removed everything I found), rebooting the router (poor thing has nothing to do with it, it's working fine otherwise), swapping cat5 cables, usb cables.
I have 3 of these R3000 printers and they all exhibit the same issues. All of my other printers connected to the same computer/router/wifi do not exhibit this issue. I have Artisan 50 (usb), the 1400 (usb), and 3 Artisan 835s (wifi).
The things I hate most about Epson and its printers are the following:
- they come with 0 support form Epson. If you know what find . -name is, you're already more qualified than any CS rep that's going to answer
- their drivers get updates very slowly for the OS X platform at least
- only some older printers will how you # printed pages/ # pages remaining. The R3000 for example shows "spooling job, 3% complete". Very informative.
- the printer driver for the R3000 creates some kind of proxy files that are HUGE in size, and it's done every time, for each page. It effectively takes 10 minutes to start printing 60 copies of 300DPI letter size photoshop designed files. The printer definitely doesn't have 5GB of RAM or temporary space to hold all that, so why not START FREAKING PRINTING while that stuff goes on in the background for subsequent pages? And if it's the same exact graphic, why doesn't the computer just simply send the first generated proxy file 60 times in a row rather than create 60 different proxy files?
- all Epson printers I've ever played with will stop printing mid page when it thinks it's out of ink. This determination is done in the chip of the cartridge in combination with the printer firmware, not by actual reading of the ink levels. I would much prefer that the printer would continue to print that page and stop after. Less wasted paper, and the cartridges I throw out ALWAYS have enough ink in them to finish printing one silly page.
- print quality doesn't change until you spend $500 or more on a printer (print heads are virtually the same type/size on all of Artisan printers for example), ignoring, of course, dye ink vs pigment ink
- did I mention no qualified customer service personnel and complete disinterest in taking any customer feedback into consideration?
In conclusion, I am very sorry to let you know that I have yet to find a solution to this, and Epson has been ignoring it for years. If you do bump into something worthwhile though, please post it here.

I have a macbook pro I updated to Lion 10.7.4 and now my epson 3880 will not print decent prints! Worked fine before but I cannot load profiles ofr paper now and therefore cannot get quality prints now! I am an artist and this is a large part of my business is there an answer for this issue?

Do you have a TM backup or a clone? If so, erase the drive and restore with TM or clone back.
If not you'll have to reformat and re-install the OS that shipped with your Mac. If it shipped with Lion or ML you can do the restore from your Recovery Volume
EDIT: I assume you are saying that you just installed 10.8?

Your printer is on the list, so it should (eventually) work. Go through the list of things to examine; for example:
Are you running the latest iOS (version 6.1.2)?
Is your printer running the latest firmware?

Epson LX-300, Epson FX-890 printers in Windows Server 2008 x 64 and Windows 7 (x32 and x64)

I have the following problema working with RDP connections to Windows 2008 Server (x64) SP2 and Windows 7 Professional (x32 & x64).
I have setup correctly an Epson LX-300, LX-300+, LX-300+II and FX-890 printers in separate computers in Windows 7 (all working under Windows 7 Professional x64 and x32) and they work correctly.
I need to RDP to a Windows 2008 Server SP 2(x64) and once I log in, the Server Operating System recognizes my printer with no problem at all (Redirected Printer), but when I print, the characters and not understandable, since the printed information is blurry.
When I do excatly the same procedure but with a Client with Windows XP installed the printed information is totally clear, so we can determine at least that the printers are working fine.
I understand this should be a driver issue, but i simply can't make it work correctly.
Can anybody help.

Since the printer can print the test page, there is no need to collect the Event log. I notice there is no specify driver for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008. It seems the default Easy Printer driver doesn’t work properly for these printers.
I suggest you install the Windows Vista driver version on the Server for testing.
